Deb Marie What a wonderful walk-in clinic. I tested positive for Influenza A and Strep throat. I could not have met a nicer, more competent group of people and the doctor/nurse practitioner is absolutely WONDERFUL. I just moved to Palestine, TX from Florida. They took my FloridaBlue Medicare PPO card with no problem. I recovered fully from my sickness with their help. Thank you Palestine Medical Group. This will be my go-to place when I get sick.

Asia Coley Whoever works front desk is SUPER RUDE. Literally asked me 1000 questions just to rebook my doctor due to a scheduling error on THEIR part. Couldn’t even reschedule my appointment because this woman had so much attitude. It was so unnecessary. Why are you working in this profession with this type of attitude?!

Erika York Where to begin. I love seeing Doctor Merrifield for my kids. She has helped us so much and always willing to go above and beyond for anything. Julia Short, Love her!! Highly recommended going to her. She has helped me so much with everything I have ever had a problem with and just listens to my concerns. The last thing is, the staff at Palestine Family Medicine are so sweet and I have never had an issue with them. Thank you for all your help!

Shannon Cooksey I absolutely love Desiree Cody. She listens she cares she asks questions, and gives excellent feedback. I havent found anyone in Palestine I like as much as her in a long time. Shes exactly what I want from my health care provider. Im so glad shes in Palestine, Texas, and shell be the only person I see from now on. I also like all the staff who are very friendly and helpful too.

kayla This facility was simply incredible. Very clean, great atmosphere. Staff was professional yet seemed to genuinely care about the residents as well as employees. Residents and employees appeared to be very happy and in good spirits. Cant say enough good!!!!

Nan S Ogle I put one star because my interactions with my brothers nurses have been pleasant. However, he still has skin cancer. They have tried to bill me for charges that are not my responsibility. Be careful with your loved ones. Pleasant nurses do not necessarily mean good care is being given. UPDATE: the skin cancer has just begun being treated. Also, I was told they are keeping his money.

Amanda Williams Now dont get me wrong, there were a few, (very few) great ladies but overall this facility is absolutely terrible. Theyre always short staffed, and they take forever to answer a call. My boyfriend was sent here because they were the only facility within a 20 mile radius that would accept him. He suffered a stroke and was there to get better and for therapy. They take forever to get you changed, he went weeks between each bath which is unacceptable. His clothing came up missing, and they have a terrible therapy program. I would definitely recommend sending loved ones to a different nursing home/rehabilitation facility!!!! Hes now in a much better facility, and definitely an excellent therapy program here. When he left he told them to make sure he had all of his clothes, they didnt, he had very little of his clothing with him!!!!

Steve Maples Great people who really KNOW each residents needs. My mother tried Athens South Place and within 3 weeks we returned her to Palestine Health Care. Palestine HC does not drug its residents in attempt to manage dementia residents movement/ramblings. These nurses know how to work with and re direct dementia patients in a proper manner with respect and dignity. Caring people loving the elderly.

Corey Flud If I could give Athens UT Health zero stars, I would. My experience with this hospital was nothing short of a nightmare. My dad was in serious need of medical attention, and instead of getting the care he deserved, we were met with indifference and incompetence. It was clear they were not equipped or willing to handle his condition. I ended up having to rush him to Tyler, where he immediately received the life-saving surgery he needed. The difference in care was like night and day. I am grateful to the team in Tyler, but I am deeply disappointed and angered by the lack of urgency and care at Athens UT Health. I wouldn’t trust them with a scraped knee, let alone a serious medical emergency.

Riki Brownlee We had an extremely disappointing experience at UT Health Emergency Room. The check-in staff, mostly the young guy, was incredubly rude and exhibited behavior that made us feel we were bothering him by asking him one question. This made an already stressful situation worse. The doctor treating my loved one provided an incorrect emergency diagnoses, which caused unnecessary confusion and concern for close to 10 hours. There was a significant lack of communication throughout the visit which carried over to the next day, and to top it off, we were put into an unnecessary and expensive ambulance transfer to Tyler. The charge nurse showed no concern or sympathy when we called later that night attempting to get the correct information which was both frustrating and disheartening. The restrooms in the waiting room and in the ER were concerningly filthy. I expect better care and professionalism from a healthcare facility and cannot recommend this ER based on my experience. We will be filing a formal complaint with the patient advocate department.

Cathey East I recently was admitted to the hospital from the emergency room with pneumonia. From the moment I arrived, everyone was amazing and attentive. From the ER personnel to the housekeeping staff to the food service staff and especially the nurses, doctors and technicians who cared for me, my treatment was thorough, caring and always felt like it was about helping me to get well. I cannot say enough good about this facility and the wonderful people who work there. Also, my room had the most lovely view of the water, complete with geese, turtles, fish and cranes. Thank you so much to everyone involved in my care. I cannot thank you enough.

Larry Kinsey Scheduled hernia surgery and arrived 9.30 am and went to prep. I signed a legal release of liability to Dr. and hospital to leave on my own accord after surgery. The Anesthesiologist refused to treat me because of release so got up and left immediately and warned they have violated my rights. Their charges for this was $32,000.00 which is robbery. Med facilities in Dallas posted $ 7,100. 00 for exact surgery. Will report them to medical board in Texas.

Gaby Parker Chelsea, Amy, and Sarah in med Surg were great nurses! Dr. Thurmond with IM was awesome! He sat down and took his time to talk to us, explain everything to us, and answer all our questions. The lobby here is one of the most beautiful and peaceful lobbies Ive seen.

Sherry Taylor Be very careful they will drop you as a patient for no reason the only thing I did was asked Dr Wilkinson for a refill on my Phenergan and then I received a letter dropping me as a patient from three doctors in this office so be careful when asking for refills.

BriAnna Thornton The front desk woman Angie I believe is her name isn’t very considerate or observant. I sat in the waiting room for over an hour. She never addressed me once she came in for the day. She mentioned that my first appointment would be cancelled to other employees yet never told me. I live 45 mins away. I get that employees kids get sick but I was already checked in at 8. She could’ve asked me what my name was and then updated me. Poor communication skills with patients. Once I’m done with my follow up I will be finding a different doctor to go to because of her. Dr. Martins is very nice and knowledgeable I just rather not go somewhere else.

Patsy Dowling When I moved to Palestine Texas three weeks ago I set up an appointment to do all my paper work to see this Doctor, also had all my medical records set to them. I called last week to set up an appointment no one answered the phone I had to leave a message, never got a return call. I called back today and was told they are not taking new patients. They could have at least called me back.

Kay Ashley I arrived around 10 pm on a week night. No one else in waiting area but most ER beds were taken. They took me back before I even got my paperwork finished. The Dr., nurses, everyone, were just wonderful. I was able to leave in a few hours and was confident with the dx. Will not hesitate to go again in an emergency.

Don Myers I arrived at the E/R with a horrible bout of AFIB. The staff immediately took me back to a room where they began test, ekg, and blood. While waiting on results an IV, and further monitoring began. Soon meds were administered that took control of the issue. After my symptoms were under control I was kept for several hours for the purpose of observation to ensure that the symptoms did not return or a negative reaction to the drug did not occur . During this entire episode I was constantly monitored by the doctor, nurses and staff who were very professional, and of whom showed great compassion. In my instance I could not have asked for any better treatment.

Sheila Boyett My daughter was admitted on 12/11/2024 for induction of labor. Cami was admitting nurse and she was attentive and the following day she was amazing during labor. She made my daughter feel supported. On 12/12 we were moved to the womens unit the nurse at night Cheska was awesome she helped with mom and baby even though she was the mommy nurse. This morning the nurse that came in Lisa was absolutely amazing she focused on our concerns she listened and she put her all into to providing the best care possible. Some nurses listen, some dont, but the ones like Lisa are heros. They dont dismiss concerns instead they focus on the patients and their concerns and they make each patient and family member feel heard and cared for. I dont know her last name but she has my utmost respect and makes Palestine Regional Shine.

raymond hand I had to visit the emergency room due to extreme pain from a back injury. I was taken care of quickly and the Dr ended up admitting me to make sure they found the problem and insure I was good to go before they released me. The care, the staff, and even the food was outstanding. I would feel comfortable using this facility for all of my medical needs. Highly recommend.

Steve I wouldnt take my dog there and would have preferred to have left a zero star review but one star is the least it would allow! My 87 year old mother was transported there because she experienced a fall and had severe leg pain along with significant swelling. You would think the first thing to do would be to x-ray her leg right? Wrong! They performed a chest x-ray and MRI then somehow decided that the pain was being caused because of a blood clot in her leg. Because she was already on blood thinners (their standard remedy for a blood clot) , they did nothing. Just released her. Three days later her pain level had increased and swelling became way worse so we took her to Christus in Jacksonville where they immediately x-rayed and found her leg to be broken. They performed surgery to insert pins and a plate. She is in the process of a slow recovery at this time. This is not the first time we had a bad experience at Palestine Regional but I promise you it will be our last. Please think twice about taking a loved one to this joke of a hospital. Their ineptness is going to cost someone their life. Probably already has!

J Ander Me and my fiancé went to this clinic after 3 others (which were great but this one was closest). For starters the professionalism was very nonexistent, and the procedures they used were in no way thorough. My fiancé is 8 weeks pregnant with twins so we were wanting to see both of their heartbeats, which we know are there from two other sonograms. In a full two minute probe the nurse and doctor both concluded our baby had no heartbeat and we’re beyond pushy when recommending a DNC to remove it. We have had the same procedure done twice prior and were informed that the heartbeats were hard to locate but others found them in 5-10 minutes no problem but this office refused to do any type of panning around or even bloodwork to try to find it. When we suggested getting bloodwork done they said it was useless & we even had to ask for pictures of the sonogram. The workers offered condolences and even said it was very odd that they couldn’t find anything for either baby but didn’t put forth any effort. &&& big surprise I went to an Office in Bryan Tx and both babies are healthy and beating at 122bpm!

Cara Hicks I went in for a possible miscarriage that I thought that I had. When I got there, not only did I wait three hours, but they had more than five people walk in after me and get a room way before I did. When i finally got a room they rushed me out. They did an ultrasound and said that everything was fine and they saw the baby and I was measuring about five weeks. I went to Jacksonville ER a few days later where they had told me that I had miscarried and there was never a baby and they aren’t sure how the hell Palestine messed up that bad. This place does not care about their patients in the slightest. All they want to do is rush you out. I will NEVER come back here.

Allyson H Have been here over 3 hours and they have only taken one person back. One. And there are two people in front of me. Do the math on those numbers. My husband said it would be faster to drive an hour to and from Tyler. I should have listened. It has now been 6 hours. 6 and I have seen no one.

Kin Charged 3,200 for one bag of saline and a CT scan. Was left alone in a room for almost 5 hours. Supposedly charged for "constant oxygen and heart rate monitoring." I had my blood pressure taken once during intake and never hooked to an oxygen monitor. I went to this facility to be helped, not robbed. I had radiology done a few days later, much more involved staff and super professional for 650.

joe haupert Had to bring father in with sever head laceration. Staff was very helpful. Doctor did a great job stapling laceration and prescribing meds, but he was the only doctor working that night. Great people just understaffed and overworked

Lakeva P My husband went there twice due to him loosing his balance and falling for the second time. He is stuttering, has confusion, memory loss, severe back pain, barely able to walk. This is clear signs of a stroke but they released him and did not help him at all. This is quite disturbing because as health care workers you take an oath, In which this facility is actually not abiding by. What if it was your family member.

Louisa Sennett Absolutely HORRIBLE Doctor Hill took it upon himself to label me "suicidal" when I was not even expressing a idealization of suicide. I went out 911 for lower back pain ( kidney infection), on the way in ambulance Access finally returned my call. By the time I reached Palestine from Elkhart I was a Psych patient under observation. Ended up on 48 hour hold, and stripped of every right any human being should have. Dr Hill gave me wrong medicine to kill kidney infection , and changed meds I was getting from Dr that had known me for 15 years. Sadly I will never call 911 in this area EVER AGAIN. I now drive to Jacksonville to see Dr Korman in order to avoid the horrible service provided in this area. It took me from April 2023 til Feb 14,2024 to even get a appointment. Calling every week to get the run around as Im coming off all my meds cold turkey..and telling the Access Crisis team with no help. So your hospital is a torture chamber, and your aftercare is just a bunch of pencil pushers that have zero business handling a Crisis patient. Wouldnt send my worst enemy to either of your establishments for services.

Shayne Eyman Checked myself in for non stop anxiety/panic attacks. Staring at a wall with nothing to do is the LAST thing someone with panic attacks need. Not only was I wrongly diagnosed, there was no therapy or help. Asked for some multivitamin as I havent really eaten in about a week. Need a doctor authorization. Sure. Ask doc about it. And he is going on about gut health vitamins and I need to see a specialist??? The only therapy I got was 20 group therapy which.. didnt do anything. If you need mental help this is the LAST place to go. Find somewhere else. This place showed me. It could be worse. I could be here.
