5 /5 Stephanie: One year update:
Last year I brought my Cadillac Escalade here for a quote to replace the front struts and rear shocks. They were over $1000 less than Christian Brothers Auto (CBA) so I had it done here. This year I took my car to CBA again for the yearly state inspection (they’re closer to my house), and asked them to check the vehicle if anything needed repairs. They told me that the front struts and back shocks needed to be replaced because it was leaking…. and that it looked like original equipment. There were even time-stamped pictures (with the current date) of the car parts that looked old and needed to be replaced.
I immediately reached out to Marcus @ Mike Tate’s and told them about the issue, and asked how this could be when it was replaced just a year ago. I questioned if they actually did the job they claimed to do. Marcus said I can bring the car in and they’ll take care of it if there are any issues. But I didn’t trust them…. Especially if they didn’t do the work I paid them to do in the first place.
So I took the car to a third auto repair shop. This time it was someone we knew so that we could get an honest assessment of the vehicle condition. They lifted the car and let me see with my own two eyes, that the struts and shocks WERE in fact replaced. And the stickers were even still on the parts.
I was so relieved. And called Marcus to apologize and tell him what happened. I also asked if the alignment was under warranty by chance, and he told me that it still was! Surprisingly. So I took the car back to Mike Tates, and they fixed it right away and took another look at the struts/shocks too. Said everything looked great. I’m writing this review now in Colorado, while riding in the same car… and everything IS running perfectly fine! I’m unfortunately disappointed in CBA, because I trusted them. But hoping it was an honest mistake. At least now I know I can trust Mike Tate’s.

I took my Escalade ESV to a few shops and this shop was the easiest to work with. Marcus truly went above and beyond and spent hours on the phone with my warranty company to get as many items covered as possible. Because he came from a GM dealership position, he was very familiar with the warranty policies and how they classify/approve the eligibility of each component, and he was able to get additional repair items covered.
I was also on a time crunch because we were planning a road trip to the snowy mountains in a few days. And he was able to get the car fixed on time! They fixed the struts, suspension, alignment, and a few misc. items. The car rides great and my steering is finally straight!
