A. Mark Hawkins Today, February 17, 2025, I dropped my pickup off for an appointment on Presidents Day. The problem was a PCV valve elbow plus their overly expensive diagnostic fee, a total of $189.66.
Upon my cash out after the service advisor entered his total by computer data entry, the total jumped automatically on their card reader to $198. When I informed him, he just said under his breath ohh its just the 4%, like it was a normal charge or something! But then he saw I was going to insert my Meineke credit card and stated he would need to enter it through the internet by his keyboard instead. Because I caught him and this Meineke franchise conducting less than honorable business ethics today.
Therefore, strangely enough, for their purposes of passing along their deceptive up-charges normally, to their customers that use Master Card or Visa cards through their card reader.
The only thing I can say today in positive light is that Meineke in Baytown barely recognizes military service, so if you are a veteran, you will need to inform them at checkout to receive a very weak 9% discount, for your service to your country during war. Sadly unjust and non patriotic indeed!
That is if you really wish to trust their deceptive UP charges by their service advisor/mgr. Wayne and his data entry procedures into their card reader!
Since we, the people have all entered the new age of transparency now!! Stand up for yourself and accept no less from American corruption.
Go elsewhere if possible, and theyll get the message eventually.
