Vicky Lucio My experience working at Southern Careers Institute was disappointing due to a consistently hostile work environment. Management showed little empathy toward staff concerns, and favoritism was a clear and ongoing issue. Certain employees were given preferential treatment regardless of merit, which affected team morale and fairness. Concerns raised were often dismissed, making it difficult to feel heard or supported. I hope the company takes meaningful steps toward improving its leadership practices and workplace culture.

Music Nation Hello and good day everyone! Personally as a business major. This is a perfect Institute for those unsure of their future. Allowing for several paths depending to you and those available. They will guide you to become and possibly find the right path for you. It is compact and I do recommend asking questions to achieve this to become a knowledgeable student/worker. This route is also more inexpensive compared to other options. I want to thank the experienced workers/instructors there, I cant thank them enough. They are all very outgoing and sweet. As well as my Career Coordinator, Brittany. Who has guided me towards my ideal job. Keep striving ladies and gentlemen and I definitely recommend them for a start in your career. The only one stopping you is yourself. God Bless. 11/10 I even had a 50 yr old as my peer which shows that its never too late.

Adrian Arevalo I attended the SCI welding course at the beginning of 2024 and I will say my experience here was amazing! The instructors were eager to help me which I heard is rare for most welding schools. They took time to help me learn the skills I needed and plus there is a lot of support from the campus. The career services helped me land a job that I never thought I would have an opportunity to get but it was all thanks to the instructors and staff at SCI. 12.6/10 rating

A Mendoza Never answer the phones or emails, good luck trying to get in touch with an enrollment coach even if you’ve set up an in person appointment with them. It’s like they’re trying to dodge a debt and any enrolling student is the debt collector. Ridiculous.

Caroline Viera Enrollment is a nightmare. The classes had to be done through an enrollment coach that barely wanted to do things for me. Which made it frustrating. I never had to do that with my other college. I also was supposed to be getting a refund since 7 days ago but never received a dime. I’ve called several times and every time was different. They keep telling me they are working on a new system which doesn’t seem to be working.

Jaime Gomez This school is good but they treat you like a child. The LVN program constantly threatens you with a zero or an absence if you forget to print out a paper they treat it like military school. They dont seem to care about how you feel. They demand perfection no mistakes constant threats of zeros or even if your there you will be marked absent if you do something they dont like. You pay 15k to be treated this way it is not good. We have enough pressure without the added negative commentary that is provided. If you expect us to be Nurses and we passed to get in I think we have earned the right to be treated like adults and not children. It is very obvious that our rights as students are the last thing on their minds.....

Chuy Lozano Great place to study. If youre not a UTRGV student youll need to use an Ethernet cord to access the internet. The library is mostly quiet and the staff is very friendly. It does get cold so bring a jacket.

Burdette Obermeyer Do yourself a favor. Find someplace else to go. All they seem to care about is the dollar. Took my 89 year old mother in for an appointment. She is in a wheelchair, so there is a lot of work in getting her prepped and transported to and from her appointments. We arrived at her appointment and was checked in by the receptionist. Then she informed me that there was a 12 dollar balance remaining from the previous visit. I reached for my wallet and it was not there. It all the confusion of getting everything ready. I had left without my wallet. They said without payment of the 12 dollar balance and the 34.50 for todays visit they would have to reschedule the appointment. I said, so for 46.50 you are going to send us home and ask us to come back in the future to make the payment and then see the doctor. They said yes. SO I told them if we walk out that door, We will never come back. They let us leave. We will never go back and will most certainly tell everyone we know to stay away.

jamie Parchman I have been going to their brand new neurology group. Dr. Gomez to be exact. They are a wonderful welcome change from our one neurologist that has an ego that cant fit through the door and is incredibly rude - no name needed if you live in Harlingen you know who I mean. Dr. Gomez is compassionate, friendly AND knows his stuff. The staff are out going, helpful and professional. Cant say enough about this beautiful facility and the amazing people I incountered there.

Jordan Diaz Met with Dr. Francisco Gomez and he was awesome. Im not a fan of doctor appointments but he was very helpful in explaining the procedures and tests he was administrating. He was also very descriptive with the different courses of treatment that were available. Update from 8/15/22. Follow up went very well with Dr. Gomez. As usual I highly recommend him for any neurological concerns. Rest of staff are very friendly throughout appointment.
