Jasso Jorge Ms. Breeden is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. I had her as a teacher for two challenging classes; she made them manageable and enjoyable. She is very knowledgeable and professional. Because of her, I have learned a lot during my first six weeks here at Southwest University. She explains things clearly and connects the lessons to real-life examples, which significantly helps. Her passion for teaching shows daily and truly inspires me. She is supportive and always ready to help if something is hard to understand. Thanks to Ms. Breeden, I feel much more confident about Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology. I am grateful to have had her as my teacher!

Melanie Zuniga Anna my advisor helped me so much with my enrollment here at Southwest. I first started back in 2023, and she guided me through the enrollment process for the Medical Assistant program. Now, two years later, she’s helped me again with my enrollment into the Sonography program.
She’s an amazing advisor words can’t even express how much she truly cares about us students. The enrollment process can definitely be stressful and overwhelming, but she’s always there with open arms. She replies to my emails and texts, answers my phone calls, and always keeps a positive attitude.
Annalyssa is one of the most hardworking and supportive people I’ve met at Southwest. I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done without her guidance and encouragement. She’s a blessing to have on our side!

Bri Mrs. Breeden is one of the most influential, most helpful and understanding instructors I’ve had so far! I absolutely love how she found different ways to help students study knowing every student has different learning styles. She’s one of the best instructors I’ve had ever!

Kathryn Duvall Attending PIMA Medical Institute has been an incredible experience. The instructors are knowledgeable, supportive, and truly care about student success. The hands-on training and real-world experience through externships prepare students well for their careers. The dental assisting program, in particular, has given me invaluable skills and confidence in the field. If youre looking for a school that provides quality education with a focus on practical experience, PIMA is a great choice!

Michael J HVAC program from a recently separated veteran. Pros: The school is clean, plenty of things to learn during labs, most instructors are knowlegable and are helpful with tips for the workforce, they have security and its in a gated location. Staff is friendly. Mr Gruber and Mr Casas are great program directors who can be very helpful. Cons: This is in a heavy traffic location due to it being next to an entry/exit point through the border to Mexico, leave early to get there on time. The staff helped me with loans and whatnot but are slow and not always available. Every instructor uses Canvas differently, causing confusion with assignment dates or releases or even trying to get into contact with them. 80% of the time not only did my classmates speak in Spanish but the instructors did as well. Ive had to ask them to repeat or elaborate on what information I was missing out on, making my time spent in class not so pleasant. I understand helping billingual students but when it takes away from others who dont understand it can be frustrating. Class time is where we just read from a power point, took a quiz and got little explanation on the topic at hand. Labs were okay, plenty of units to work on, some broken but we learned a bit even if we were left to figure it out amongst ourselves. Weve waited an extended period of time to recieve our tools for unknown reasons. Some instructors were new and we had to relearn certain things as because we were taught the wrong way the entire class. Thw night class had about 10 students while the morning had almost 18 to 20. It felt that there wasnt enough equipment for all of us to get our hands on for experience. The HVAC workforce in el paso is over saturated and they dont offer much even with a degree, I could have probably applied with no experience and recieved a dollar or two less hourly pay. The cafeteria food is terrible, no they dont speak English either. I feel like Ive wasted my time, at leat i gave it a try but now Im in debt. Your experience here may vary.

Great school, great teachers and instructors. Had the pleasure of having Mike Williams and Oscar Molinar as my teacher and instructor. Highly recommend going to school with Western Tech to obtain your CDL A. It’s not easy but with the help of everyone here, they’ll make sure you pass all exams. They want you to succeed! I didn’t work under these instructors but I did see them help out students. Pete, Fernando and Lupe were helping other students. Everyone’s knowledgeable so no worries on that end. Just study and practice on the range and you’ll be good.

Justin Carson Western tech was a great experience for me. All of the instructors were great at teaching. Abraham was my instructor for most of the hands on portion and I can’t express how helpful and great of a teacher he is. He is extremely patient and a great teacher with a real passion for trucking and new students. Mr Valdez was a great instructor and was my examiner for my test. He was very patient and collected. He really knows his stuff and it’s been an absolute pleasure working with all the guys.

Bre G Epcc has been extremely helpful to me for the time I’ve experienced there. However today a woman in admissions was yelling at me on the phone the second the call started. She gave me random information and I said ma’am do you not need my id number to be able to tell me what I need? She continued yelling at me when I was just trying to figure out what I needed done. I work customer service so I felt like I was talking to a customer rather than someone in a professional environment. I get having a bad day but that was fully uncalled for.

The courses are challenging and rewarding. The use of multiple teaching styles by the professors ensures that everyone is able to not only learn but retain the information presented in class. The entire staff genuinely care and want each student to be successful. I would recommend anyone looking to further their education to look into the programs available at Western Technical College. Jennifer Norris I’m about a month shy of being a student at Western Tech for one year. I applied for the BSN program in 2023 and was so excited when I received my acceptance letter. I was stressed out my first semester since it had been 20 years since I was in school. The amount of support, one-on-one if needed, smaller class sizes, great hours, friendly staff, knowledgeable instructors, and the overall atmosphere is beyond my expectations.
Overall, if you have the desire to learn, are committed, and want to take that next step, do it for you.

Nilla C. I just started the BSN program ( Bachelor of Science in Nursing), and so far, it has been very straight foward and easy to me. They say the hard work starts after a year from the beginning when clinicals start, along with the full only nursing courses. Im excited for what the future holds. So far, all of the general ed teachers have been very nice. I have no huge complaints about the teachers they are all good to me. Keep in mind if you apply for this program, you can have credits transferred from other colleges. So you dont have to take all the general ed courses. I hope my rating does not ever go down for this program.

Please make sure she does better! The students are confused and not getting clear answers or instructions when learning new topics and she seems to not care smh.

Paloma Boy oh boy. Man. Have Ive been wanting to post a review about my culinary school experience at this location. Chef Lugo and Chef Guerra were without a doubt the most condescending and pompous A holes Ive ever dealt with. Poor leadership skills on their part. My poor father was not paying money out of his pocket in order for me to get verbally abused by these two so called "professional chefs". With their bullying and ghetto behavior, I have decided to withdraw from the culinary course and never look back. Adults should treat each other in a civil manner. Not dramatic like freakin teenagers. Guess some people dont really grow up. Thanks for my awful experience.

Bryan Review reflects handing of Covid. Extremely disappointed with this school. "Teachers" are not even recording lectures or anything, they are all just directing you to the book to learn absolutely everything. What are these guys getting paid for? They are doing nothing but grade and redirecting students to the book or powerpoints for content. Im literally googling lectures on youtube to understand some of my classes. Amazing that these "teachers" even call themselves that. During this period they need their titles removed because the book is teaching me, not them. Amazed there is no oversight to make sure teachers are actually teaching. Extremely disappointing.

Persephone Purdeu The campus has so many resources to help facilitate students to succeed. But the staff and oversight is absolutely awful. "At EPCC, youre more than just a number." No, were nothing more than a check to be cashed. There are so many fees tacked onto an already inflated tuition. For their emergency loans, if you make either payment late, its an additional $15 per payment. Theres a $10 "processing" fee. If you have a balance remaining at the end of the semester, you have to pay $50 in addition to what you owe. To take online classes, they add a "distance learning" fee. In what realm can people realistically come up with half of their tuition in 2 months? And the rest of it a month later? They place holds on your account for every reason under the sun. This college is by far the absolutely worst facility. Their staff really doesnt care about students either. Going to any office, youre met with so much pushback & "oh well, its cause..." For people working at a community college, they sure lack the vocabulary of being college educated.
