Bruce J Snider LLC Absolutely a great college! Finished my business related undergrad and masters degree here - all the while working full time. Conveniently located and more affordable than other schools I entertained attending.

Felix Nguyen I’m an international student admitted to UH for Fall 2024. I submitted all required financial documents months ago and still haven’t received my I-20. I called the admissions hotline, and the staff told me to email Mr. Jamail Garrick. I followed their instruction, but he never responded — I’ve been completely ignored. Without an active I-20, I can’t renew my visa, register properly, or do anything related to my immigration status. This delay has lasted for two semesters. I’ve paid over $30,000 in tuition and fees, and I’ve gotten nothing but silence in return. This is unacceptable treatment of international students. We rely on timely documents to maintain legal status. I’m currently stuck in my homecountry and might not be able to return. UH seriously needs to fix how it handles I-20 processing and communication.

The university has a lot of places to explore like the Chapel, the library, the gardens and the many sitting areas to just enjoy the view! I Highly recommend it whether you are a local or someone visiting Houston!

Tanweer Kaleemullah Our kids have been part of their homeschooling Great Books courses, which have been enriching and beneficial for their growth in writing and improved critical thinking (not to mention reading the classics). Additionally, though we are of a different faith, they provided a fair and open forum for discussion that allowed and welcomed substantive discussions across faiths.

Joseph Master This is my third college Ive gone too and while I will graduate from here, safe to say it is the least put together college of the 3, and I largely regret deciding to finish my degree plan here. The campus is nice the professors are fine, 100% of my problems come from being financial aid and the VA office that seems to do little to nothing to actually help veterans. Of the 3 semester Ive taken so far, I have had to hound the VA office to do things and as of the time of this, they failed to even submit my classes from last semester to the VA for billing (meaning Im in the hole 5 grand). For veterans looking for guidance with benefits, go somewhere else. I have had issues every semester and am entering my last semester with a combative mentality that I am going to have to hold their VA offices hand to make sure Im not completely screwed over. The Financial aid department also screwed me by marking me out of state tuition and are making me jump through paperwork hurdles, or beg the VA to apply my waivers, when they should have had me in state the whole time. No other college I have attended has made me do so much fighting for myself to get the minimum, and if not for me reaching out to San Jacinto Community College, id also have been completely left in the dark about a slew of veterans benefits that this office doesnt seem to have ever heard of. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE VETERANS.

Ashley M I really enjoy the student life here and most of the staff here is friendly, but overall the lack of professors and class schedule availablity is very disturbing. Classes that are available during the day is very limited and a majority are only offered at night plus a good 3/4 of the classes are taught by the same professors. The STEM department is very underfunded, I feel that this college is missing out on a big opportunity since the general area around here is next up and coming medical center (League City, Webster, Clear Lake, etc.). These two have been a big issue that have come up a lot when talking to other students. Another drawback of this campus is that you cannot graduate on time due to the lack of open class availablity. Also, this university is not a friendly parent student, so if you are a student that has kids I would look elsewhere. Overall, I feel like this is a very underfunded univeristy that needs a lot of improvement and it is sad to say that the community colleges are better than this one.

K Mentorship for pre-health professionals is a blessing (shout out to the bio department). The small community is unmatched vs big universities. It is perfect for minorities, first-gens, socioeconomics, and locals. The nature surrounding the school is breathtaking too. My advice for students is to take the opportunity to get involved in the community, do research, volunteer, join organizations, make friends, and never be afraid to ask. There are a few professors who are hidden gems for higher education and mentorship. The school isnt perfect, but it can become perfect for a chance at life.

Daniel Neuhaus If you’re taking an exam at the Houston Community College West Loop Campus Testing Center, here’s some information to make your visit smoother than mine! The Testing Center is in room 146, but this wasn’t clear on the booking system, so it took me a bit to find it. Finding the Testing Center Enter through the main door with the information desk (I’ve attached photos to show it). This is key, as there are several doors, and using the main entrance will save time. Once inside, head straight down the hallway, and look for a sign that says “Testing” with an arrow pointing right—follow it to room 146. Parking Parking is easy on the south side of the building. You can park anywhere, but this side is closest to the main entrance. Check-In Process The check-in process is quick and efficient. The staff are knowledgeable and guide you through locking up personal devices to ensure a distraction-free, secure environment. Inside the Testing Room The testing room is quiet, clean, and organized. It’s a shared space with others taking a variety of exams—on my visit, people were taking everything from Texas Life & Health to real estate, cybersecurity, TSA, and more. Testing is done on individual computers, and the room is spacious enough to help you focus. Timing and Flexibility It’s important to be on time for your reserved slot since this isn’t a group testing session. Fortunately, they allow a short five-minute grace period if you’re slightly late, which was helpful for me as it took time to navigate the building. Receiving Your Results After completing the test, you’ll receive a printout with your score (depending on your exam type). I was happy to see I passed! The staff were friendly and answered questions about my results. Overall, the Testing Center is well-run, with knowledgeable staff, a clean and quiet environment, and an efficient process. I hope this helps future test-takers have a stress-free experience!

Monica Elizondo I really enjoyed my time at VTI, all the teachers were very knowledgable and their style of teaching made it really easy for me to learn and absorb everything with it being a pretty fast paced program. I felt that the teachers really cared about everyone being successful. I also feel that they really prepared us well for our career path and we got a pretty good feel for what our job would be like once we graduate. VTI gave me so many cool learning experiences that Im sure I wouldnt have had anywhere else. I loved all the hands on experience and practice I got to get at VTI. Even though it was hard sometimes, I had fun every day with the animals and loved being able to attend VTI.

J R As others have said, I wouldnt recommend. The lessons are informative, but the program isnt fair or structured to help the students learn and succeed equally. There definitely is favoritism and as a reserved person, I felt that many students like myself were overlooked for opportunities because we didnt try to brown-nose the teachers. I tried to get information from a staff member on how I could achieve my goal of entering a specific area-thinking "oh, shes been here for years, she must be knowledgeable and she seemed eager to help during orientation!"-I was brushed off. During the enrollment and orientation phase, everyone is so sweet and polite. After theyve got your money, youre treated like youre a teen (it doesnt matter what your age is). Before joining consider that you will be taking exams weekly, one for each class, about 4 classes on average. About 3-4 days of lecture out of a 5 day week, exams at the end of the week. On top of that you have worksheets, homework, projects, husbandry, and brown-nosedry (if you want the good opportunities). Husbandry starts at 4 a.m. and is student-run. There is a lead and co-lead that are chosen by teachers and staff (the favorites) . There arent any teachers/staff present. You still have to attend lecture and do everything as expected-again youre awake from 3 a.m. and leave at 6 p.m. or whatever time your team finishes. If someone makes a mistake during husbandry, the whole group suffers. You get a percentage of your grade deducted. I didnt like inspecting everyones work and being a babysitter when Im not even the "lead". This system allows students to go on a power trip and mistreat/bully their classmates. I paid to learn from the experienced staff and it should be taught by the experienced staff, not students. I attended this school to achieve a dream and learn. Athough I got all As, I also got depression and an immense feeling of disappointment. 1 star for Ms. Martinez (she treated us all the same) and the informative lectures.

I’ve been here twice wasn’t seen due to mistake of their own they discriminate against mothers with kids with special needs . I’m single mom had no other option but to bring my autistic son with me . There no guidelines or rules saying no kids or other people can’t attend appt .I was talk to like trash by their technician in the lobby in front of everyone then I request a supervisor she didn’t help in any type of way . Now today I’m Here my appt was confirmed with medical transportation they wasn’t told of two appt only second appt .I arrive at 8:58 for appt they stated I can only be seen for second one that at 9:30 not one that was also at 8:45 . I understand I was late but this wasn’t of my doing this was of their scheduler confirming time with transportation provider and so they pick me up basis off the appt time that was given for 9:30 which was second appt not appt time of first appt which was at 8:45. These testing is urgent due to problems I’m having . I had to pay for specialize care for my baby while I attend this appt today as well I live over a hr away . Nothing have been done to accommodate but saying I can’t be seen .There no empathy or compassion for patients here what so ever . They just brush u off is very rude. It’s is now 9:40 their late for my appt time which was at 9:30 now I should charge them for being late .

Natasha Jolivette Sent over my transcript and paid my admission fees. They told me that I need transcripts from 2 other schools i attended in the past. I told them I didn’t have credits to transfer but they told me i still needed it. Ok bet. I paid to have those transferred. I start getting notifications that my transcripts weren’t retrieved. I was supposed to start in the summer. I got countless notifications over and over. Still didn’t retrieve them. I called several times over, got numerous contacts, left numerous emails etc. Still to no avail. I called one last time and was told can you just come up here??? WHAT??? I have to work. You mean nothing will get done unless I go up there to kick a damn door down??? I wanted to go to an HBCU but it looks like I have to explore other options on top of having to start way later than i anticipated. SUCKS!!!! Rewind to last year when my classmate and I wanted to start school again to further our degrees. We walked the campus and was sent from office to office to office. You can see people in their office but refuse to open the doors. No one seems to know what they are talking about so they send you to someone else that don’t know. Everyone was rude and unhelpful. We took a day off work and got absolutely NOTHING accomplished. Missed a day of work to play visit TSU offices. I wish there was an option to give 0 stars cause this school is a damn joke. I wouldn’t advise no one to waste their time. Just try another school until they can get their staff on the right track to actually help

T. ACHÉ Im a transfer student and this is not the ideal hbcu l thought TSU was. Im very disappointed that they fit all the negative stereotypes. If you want anything done, you have to do it in person. Emailing and calling will get you nowhere. Most of The professors I’ve had so far really suck.. Always late, very entitled as far as running a classroom, lack of respect for students, very low effort in actually teaching a subject, etc.. Staff does not contact you when theres an update on anything (fafsa, va affairs, student accounting) so unless you are consistent with checking your status on anything, youll never know whats going on. Along with that, a lot of the staff members (financial aid window in particular) have really bad attitudes that make you not even want to talk to them. They’re rude and inconsiderate which is extremely unprofessional and it makes the entire process unpleasant. Ive transferred so many times due to moving around texas that i refuse to transfer again. Otherwise, I wouldnt stay enrolled here. On a brighter note, the campus is beautiful when the sun is out. If it’s raining, invest in rainboots because the tiger walk and parking lots are going to flood. Wish you luck!

Jonathan Martin My four years here were pretty good. Classes are small and (most) instructors do care. I do feel that students have to pick up more and more slack every year as they enter the workforce; just a degree isnt going to cut it (if you want a great job). The biggest issue I had while attending UHD is that you must double check everything administrative while attending. Financial aid? They will mess something up unless you check on them and follow up often. Registration? Random class drops. Cashier? Random holds on your account. Student employees are particularly clueless when it comes to asking them important questions. Why are student employees in financial aid providing factually incorrect answers? A wrong answer can cost someone thousands, or tens of thousands. Despite that I enjoyed my years here and would recommend UHD to anyone looking for a degree who will put in extra work to make it as valuable as possible.

christian torres The staff here are incredibly unhelpful, particularly in admissions, financial aid, and the Center for Career Development. Over the past few weeks, I was kicked out of a class I had already paid for without any warning because the campus canceled it. I asked questions about why it was canceled and about getting a refund, but I received no response. The cancellation notice was sent just three days before the semester started, leaving no time to pick another class. Worse, all communication was sent only to the San Jac email. If you didn’t check or authenticate your email over winter break, you wouldn’t even know your class was canceled. They only sent a notice to personal emails the day before classes began, which makes no sense. On top of that, no one answers the phone in admissions, financial aid, or student success. When you visit in person, the response is often, "No one is in the office right now," even though the office is open (I came at 5 p.m., and they close at 6 p.m.). If you do get help in person, they just hand you a sticky note with instructions on how to do it yourself at home. If the staff refuses to help in person, why not at least answer phone calls and respond to inquiries? It’s frustrating and a huge waste of students’ time and energy. We also have livelihoods, jobs, kids etc stop wasting our time when we pay to come here.

But I was not able to connect with her again. So I received a message from her saying " that we already lost time and I need to make another appointment". That easy for them to not do their job. It was an appointment for 30 mins and we lost 10 mins not a reason to cancel. Also I was hearing and seeing her very well. It was her who was saying that she couldnt see me or hear me well. I just needed to get help to register from a class that was all that wouldnt take too much time for them to do it. She event try to call me to do it by phone how other times advisors did when there is problems with signal. So I went in person that way there were no issues with " signal " but they take at least one to two hours to get with them. No matter there are not too many students waiting. My son is about to graduate this year from high School. We received some emails from San Jac to get enrolled with them. But of course not that not going to happen after these issues with that college and that experience with that advisor. He has taken dual credit with Lone Star College, also talked to advisors over there and we have never had any issues in two years with Lone Star College. The wait time is longer just to talk with advisors. I recommend Lone Start College

Some people can’t do one nice thing for anyone. I regret enrolling for the class there but unfortunately is the only offering it right now even though is 40 minutes away from my house.

You do have to take 3 philosophy & 3 theology courses as core courses, but I really didn’t mind it because the professors are so knowledgeable. All of the professors at St. Thomas are experts in their fields, they have dedicated their lives to these subjects. I’m not sure where else I would find all of these professors who are experts in contemporary philosophy, Irish studies, music, art, etc etc. The range of courses that they offer is so unique! The nursing school is very prestigious and the classes are extremely difficult at times. The program is much longer than a lot of these new 1 year programs that have come out. But I believe that this program produces more well-rounded, holistic, and caring nurses. The support is there from the nursing school staff, Geny Moreno is an amazing advisor and will support you every step of the way. Nakisha Paul will also do the same, working to get good clinical spots in the medical center which is close by. The campus is small and beautiful, with the classes symbolically situated between the library and the church. It’s definitely small and not a party school, so if that’s what you’re looking for I wouldn’t go here. I would say that was the largest negative to me about this school, I sometimes feel like I missed out on the “college experience”. The smallness of it makes for very small classes sizes and collaboration between the students and professors. I would also say that there’s a lot of room for growth because the school is very receptive to student’s ideas. If you want to start a club or team, throw an event, do a side lab research project, the school would probably easily support you. I will also say, this school is very expensive. They offer really good scholarships and financial aid, which is how I afforded to go here. They also offer great benefits to military.

Cassandra P. What a great spot. It feels like a (mind you super mini) mini mall on campus. Food, Drinks, UofH Swag and plenty of spots to hang with friends or study.

Priscilla T A huge plate for students ! And a variety of food choices for all. I go here when I’m on my lunch breaks, and also when events occur! There a plenty of places to sit and hang with your friends and family or by yourself as you choose!

Surg1 I visited UH and began here specifically for their Cougar Preview, and overall I had a great experience being there for the first time, the staff were friendly and the environment was chill, with plenty of food choices and activities, as well as their own campus store. I have high hopes that I could try to get enrolled after graduation.

Gonzalez Oscar (osarbego) My son needed minor surgery and I was referred to UTHealth Houston. Dr. Danielle Sobol along with her assistants did a phenomenal job and my son recovered successfully after surgery. Dr. Danielle Sobol with her charisma and joy made my son feel relaxed before and during surgery, to be honest I had never seen such dedication in a doctor to his patient before. I also want to say that at that time we did not have medical insurance and I was surprised by what they charged me for the surgery they did on my son, very affordable because we did not have medical coverage.

Chanukya Pratap Wish I could give you ZERO stars. DO NOT VISIT Dr. Cash. They sent me a bill for a test that was never performed and when I called to dispute they simply said the doctor’s office will charge although the test was not performed since the Doctor has a note saying “the test was cancelled” This is ridiculous on the Doctor Cash’s part. When I called the UT health system to get more details on why they charged me for a service that was never provided, they said that’s how they operate. And they sent it to collections while I requested them to look into the incorrect billing charge. They never responded to my request. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DR. Cash as they are sneaky in charging patients for no professional services. Shame on you UT Health System to adopt this business style.

Texas Huntress As you can see from so many terrible reviews on here, this is the worst place on earth. They are only about making money and have zero concern for their patients or any compassion for the families of their patients and what they are going through. They will not return phone calls & if You try to go there to get help, they will threaten you and harass you. they seriously traumatized me today when I tried to go there to get help after no one would call me back for three weeks regarding the care of a family member. Do not ever go to any medical professional under this group and please read all the negative reviews here. Highly corrupt.

Murphy L Rude in the most disgusting way. The head of this department, Ms. Virginia has a nasty, dismissive attitude she talks to you like youre unworthy and youre complete garbage and this is over the phone without ever having met you to even be able to judge you as someone she should be talking to like trash. Prospective students calling trying to make a plan to better their lives should proceed with caution because the person in charge of this location seems to lack respect and decency towards strangers. If youre immune to being spoken to in an abusive manner that makes you feel less than, then you may do well dealing with this rude women, but if your family raised you to give respect and seek respect you will be highly offended after dealing with this staff. Its disgusting and disappointing that an educator doesnt have the good sense to know not to talk to students like theyre worthless idiots. My God, one discussion turned into such a disheartening and disturbing experience. Run, find another school or prepare to be offended and angry at how you are treated

Elizabeth Ciocco Ms. Brown in admissions was phenomenal. She helped me re-enroll as a returning student. She was thorough, kind, patient and showed genuine interest in helping me with my particular needs. She encoruaged me to try logging in on the computers they had there to ensure she addressed all my enrollment needs. She even informed me of my tuition costs and payment plan options. In my opinion, she went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. I dont even intend on attending this campus, but she helped me nonetheless! The front desk, Mike, was also kind, as well as the people I met in the computer lab. Everyone was so helpful.
