Savanna Phuy The lady at the front desk for the Welcome Center was disrespectful and inconsiderate of my time. I called in advance to see if I can speak to an advisor and the very nice lady over the phone told me I could come in even if I wasn’t a student just to discus my different options. ( I wouldn’t go for no reason) The front desk lady just didn’t care what I had to say and basically stated if I’m not a student there is no help no time for you. I was completely okay with waiting even if it took hours because I know how busy they are at the start of the year. In addition she decided to take a phone call in the middle of our conversation and I stood there waiting while other people were getting helped. What’s the point of going to this college to apply if they are not even friendly to their future students.

Oscar Ortiz I assume most people go to college to find a good job. If so, then you would expect the place that offers the training to train and prepare you for said job. Its not exactly like that at Collin College.
I speak for the IT department mostly, which is at the Frisco campus. The McKinney campus however, has done a decent job when it came to general education classes i.e. Math, English, History. It helps that the campus offers tutoring for GenEd classes in designated rooms such as the math lab or the writing center. Unfortunately, there is no tutoring for IT classes. Some electives are considered by many as "free credits" but if you are serious about your education, it is possible to actually learn something from these electives if you do the work and engage the instructors.
Now, for the IT classes...you might as well teach yourself. This is essentially what youre doing anyway at Collin College, ESPECIALLY if your classes are 100% online. My experience has been that a professor assigns a textbook and has the textbook do all of the teaching, which might make you ask "why do I need to pay for a class or professor to learn this?" If you choose to do an IT program at Collin College, I highly recommend learning as much as you can about the subject BEFORE taking a class. You will be doing that anyway during the class except if you learn what you can before taking a class, you wont be rushed and you wont risk losing out on tuition money. I dont believe Im too far off by saying that the class is to test you only and not to teach you.
Overall, I would recommend Collin College as a stepping stone to a university BUT be prepared to fly solo most of the time. If you are able to find assistance from the faculty, consider yourself lucky. If anything, this college is a trial to test your self-reliance.

Kurt Nauenburg Admissions is very painful, with them collecting very sensitive information that has nothing to do with attending school. They asked for 12 months of the my bank statements, bills, and pay stubs because they thought I was trying to steal tens of dollars from Collin County. Unless you are my mortgage lender there is no reason for that information.
Admissions couldnt care less about getting you into classes, the veterans office ignored my concerns. Despite applying to the school in March, admissions wasnt complete with my application by September forcing me to drop all of my classes this semester.
THEY DO NOT CARE ONE SINGLE BIT ABOUT THE STUDENTS!!!
