She’s easy to talk to with a fun and bubbly personality. The work she’s done is natural and perfeeeection, I can be bad about going in and getting my hair touched up on time but with her work it grows out beautifully and still looks great! Kylee Cummings I had a wonderful experience at this new salon in Anacortes! The space is both cozy and chic, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. Hannah was my stylist, and she was very knowledgeable and professional. She made me feel so comfortable from the start, really listening to what I wanted, and delivered exactly that. Loree Good Taylors has cut my hair twice she has done a great job both times. The first time I was lucky enough to get a walk in but its better to set an appointment. With the cut she washes and blow dries your hair. Taylor is friendly, very professional she takes pride in her appearance. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a good hairstylist. I have received compliments from friends after each of my haircuts without me telling them I got my hair done. The salon is clean

Lively Reviews 6th Street Salon is the best hidden secret and I hope I don’t regret sharing this BUT, there’s a reason they’ve been voted Best many times! They have wonderful energy! I personally go to Taylor for my god-forbid thick hair. I found her by accident in 2008 and I’ve followed her over the years. She has a special knack for managing thick hair, and that can’t be takin lightly. Over the years I’ve found only two whom have “the gift”, and she is my thick hair guru! Now on that note, I should make my appointment.

Paige Meridith They were going to balayage my hair WITHOUT any protectant. What kind of salon offers bleaching services but no chemical bonders? The woman who I had started my appointment with was very nice but after she sectioned my hair a woman I assume is the owner followed her to the back. I heard the owner say to my stylist "Now what does she want done?" in a tone that made me immediately start to worry. They both come back now owner starts touching my hair and saying "Yeah yeah so your hair wont fair well." I walked out. Reading the new reviews I am glad I did. $135 to wreck some ones hair knowingly is shameful. AVOID! Find a place that offers services that include professional grade technique especially if you are paying such high prices!

Colleen Bierbach Elizabeth did a fantastic job coloring my hair back to what it normally is! I absolutely love it! I am new to the area, and have found my salon! Everyone was very nice. The prices are reasonable. I recommend going to Tangles!!

S Benton Over the course of the past several years I have spent an estimated $8,000 - $10,000 at Red Salon in Anacortes for professional services and products. I like the Aveda brand and the convenience of the downtown location. While the owner has significantly increased the cost of services more than other salons, I tried to remain loyal to her and her business. The disappointing and short story is, after years of patronage to this business I received a botched color service from a junior team member filling in for the owner/stylist. I knew something was wrong because the foil process which normally takes 1-1/2 hours with blowout, took a full three hours. I immediately reported my experience and my disappointment to the owner. She seemed sympathetic and offered to reschedule me with another stylist who would attempt to correct the obvious color mistake. The new stylist did her best to correct the bad color, but I had to wait another month to get the full correction to avoid risk of further damage to my hair. She did a good job and I paid full price plus tip for her work without objection. To my surprise I received no follow up from my regular stylist/owner so I eventually reached out asking for a credit or refund for the original botched color service and subsequent attempted correction totaling $285.00. She flat out refused. Adding insult to injury, she tried to justify a $35.00 credit for the bad service, my time, and years of loyalty. So no, I can no longer recommend Red Salon. My years of patronage and countless recommendations to Red Salon were not even worth a one time credit for receiving unprofessional services.

Loree Good Shannon McGovern is good at what she does. My service request were eyelash extension, I turn 50 in 5 days I dont like to wear make-up but I like my eyes to look alive awake. My girlfriends and sisters told me to try eyelash extensions. So before my family vacation I went to Red Salon asked if they had someone who offered eyelash extension. They introduced me to Shannon and she happened to have an opening (This is Rare) So I booked it, the next hour and a 1/2 Shannon had me close my eyes relax as she placed eyelashes on my eyes while listening to music softly. My niece was with me as well she just turned one. For the next 48 hours I was instructed not to get them wet or really do anything that might mess up the curing process. After two weeks I decided it is so much easier to have eyelash extension then wear make-up that I booked for a fill and had that done yesterday. Durning my first two weeks, I had washed my face many times, always being careful of my lashes dabbing them verses a fast wipe. I swam in a pool on vacation, was exposed to 80 plus degree weather for 7 days, so I sweated a lot this past two weeks. I was given many compliments on how good I looked, this made me feel even better about myself I have always been a happy person I now feel people can see my smile in my eyes. In this stage in my life, I welcome anything that helps me feel better about myself. What I paid and what I was told would be upkeep. This is subject to change, I dont work at this Salon I just asked these questions. Cost: full set first time $160 plus tip Fills: once a week $25 plus tip every two weeks $50 plus tip and every three weeks $75 plus tip Now the longer you wait or the more wear and tear you put on your eyelash I would say effect the cost of your fill. Shannon let me know that if I waited to long or lost a lot of lashes more than normal the fill would be adjusted to a full set understandable so. Shannon appears to be a kind honest and fair person she is service oriented. Treat Shannon with respect and Im sure she will treat you fair when it comes to fills and be honest on what is needed. Updated 11/5/18 - I took my lashes off because I personally didnt want to maintain them, if I go on a trip I will most likely have them put back on. I like the no hassle and the look they give. The last two pictures I posted were my natural eyelashes after I had extension on. I didnt lose my lashes by having the extension on, mine actually look fuller and longer now. I dont know if this happens for everyone but it did for me. Maybe its because I was afraid to rub my eyes so I never did I was very conscious of my lashes..."shoot you pay enough for them". Anyways they are a plus for me.

Ben&Syd Zabarauskas Alaina is amazing! Not only does she do a fabulous job with color and cuts for me, but she is so kind and patient with our son. She gave him his very first hair cut at 2 years old and has been cutting it ever since. He’s got curly hair that we keep about shoulder length and she always does such a great job. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for quality hair care in Anacortes.

D W They ruined my hair! I showed clear photos of what I wanted and they said no problem. They completely destroyed my hair, where I was embarrassed for a long time (until my hair was corrected by another salon). I asked for a refund and similar to other reviews the owner didn’t care or apologize. I had to go out in public with my clearly ruined hair and learned other people in the community have had their hair ruined by this salon.

Maryia Schwartz I had a wonderful experience at Jilian G. Salon. My hairstylist Astrid was fantastic. She took the time to make my hair look beautiful and she truly understood what I needed. My hair is not the easiest to work with and Astrid spent over an hour making sure not a strand of hair was out of place. I highly recommend this salon and this attentive and skillful hairstylist.

Sophia Stratton This salon was absolutely wonderful. I went for a haircut on a whim during vacation and I wish I could continue to go here. It was clean, and the staff was very friendly. My stylist Astrid had wonderful suggestions for me! 10/10

Joseph Pugmire I have been here twice the first time was with Kamie, She did a excellent job I was very happy with the hair cut. The second time was with Laurie, I am so unhappy with the cut. The ears and neck were not cleaned up at all my lines are not straight and change length when they shouldnt. the hair cut was so rushed I was in and out in around 10 min.

Sarah Edwards I am a military spouse that always has to struggle with finding a new hair stylist every time we move. 3 years ago I got the suggestion for my friend to go to Astrid at Jillian g. I have never looked back. She is a wonderful hair stylist and I look forward to going to her every time. She does great with cut and color. She also has a lovely personality. I dont know when well move next, but I hope that I can bring Astrid with me wherever we go.

Cezlie Campo I am not one to bash someone’s business on the internet, however, I believe the reviews were misleading and we 100% regret going to this barbershop. The second picture shows the approximate length of my fiancé’s hair (it had probably grown a few inches since this picture). The first picture is the picture shown to the stylist. He needed a trim and a shape up to his layers and unfortunately what he came back with was the last 3 pictures. At least 4 inches was removed from the length, if not more. The length is hair in now almost to his ear lobes when he asked for it to remain at his shoulders. I would not normally be so upset but we are getting married in 3 months and so much length was taken off that I do not think he will have time to grow it back. We were going to take engagement pictures next month and unfortunately that will not be happening. Besides the excessive length removal, the ends are choppy, there are chunks missing out of the ends, and it is un even. I have never been so disappointed in a barbershop before. I understand not every barber has the skill set to cut longer hair, however, there should have been more transparency about that or at the very least more communication with the client throughout the process and before chopping off several inches. I do not recommend going here if you have medium length hair.

Noah Bell Awesome place, good atmosphere, good music. I went in there after being on the water for a few months so I was looking like a wild man, and got hooked up with a solid hair cut, a beard trim, eyebrows, and we all had a good laugh at just how much weight I lost. Definitely opt for the hot towel and the straight razor. Also, from what I can tell, there is always a wait, so your best bet is to be there 15 minutes before they open at 9

Liz Beth First time here yesterday and will definitely be back! I brought my friends son in to fix up a botched home cut. Hes ten and it was his first time at a barber shop. The lady who helped us was so kind and helpful that he had the best experience! She asked for consent at every step and explained what was happening so well that he felt totally at ease. She also did a great job cutting in a design he had picked out and he left beaming. Thanks for saving the day!

Sheila Thomas What I really appreciated about Lee was that he took his time and gave every part of the experience the personal touch. So many times I have felt rushed at The Barbers or hairdressers, but not with Lee. You get his full attention and hell ask you what you want every step of the way. My fade looks great! Update: score reduced from 5 to 4 stars because on closer inspection there were some asymmetries and a small missed spot with my fade. Overall great experience.

Joshua Eichelberger Absolutely worst haircut of my life. I am not that picky when it comes to a haircut. I asked for a fade- from skin to a 1. What I got was an uneven bowl cut that had chunks missing or not even cut. I asked 3 times to fix it and was told my head and hair didnt take a fade well. I got upset after the queer bashing and toxic masculinity conversation he offered. I immediately bought a hat afterward because I was too embarrassed to go out in public. I then found a different barber who was too booked to fit me in and offered to pay triple to fix the mess. Never again, and I definitely dont recommend it.

Sarit Edri I was recommended to Kelee by a local friend of mine who works in the business. My daughter and I live abroad and it was her first experience with getting professional color. Unfortunately I was not at the appointment, and later learned that Kelee had a very short talk with my daughter before beginning work, and that talk did not include letting my daughter know the cost, time involved, or options. After 4 hours (for color, cut and highlights on long hair) Kelee charged my daughter $455. I believe that my daughters naivete was taken advantage of. Especially after I talked with two other professionals to receive quotes for similar work (no more than $300, in less time) I went in to try to understand the procedures and costs but was dismissed quickly and rudely by Kelee. If you use her--- make sure to know beforehand the prices in the market as well as the time involved (you should not have to pay for extra time beyond what is reasonably expected). The whole disappointing experience, in my hometown after many years away, was very upsetting.
