Lindsey Sisley These people are awesome! Julie has cut my hair, gave me a brazillian blowout (permanently straight hair), highlights and did an updo for my wedding and it was gorgeous! I will keep going back to them.

Janelle Huse DISAPPOINTED! Julie was to color my hair a solid brown. She showed me some colors, most of which had a red tone. I specified that I wanted NO RED COLOR WHATSOEVER. The final color was a very deep red. She offered to correct the color. I had little confidence that she could fix it as she demonstrated she couldnt perform an accurate color service on my first visit. I had another stylist at a different salon provide the service and results I had requested of Julie. This cost me an additional $100. Julie declined the opportunity to refund $100 from the cost of her service. She said her manager would contact me. I have yet to hear from him.

frankly Beans The Ave is a great place to get a haircut! My sons and I have been coming here since 2012, and the quality has never changed- both Lu and Julia are wonderful stylists. Thank you for always being accommodating with appointments and making my family look good!

Jasmine Denk I had Julie. She was very sweet and did a good job. She made nice recommendation and was never upset when I declined. My haircut and tip came out to $70. I left satisfied with my hair cut, straightened and shinned. Will definitely go back.

chang lee Worst hair salon ever. They charge $40 for a mens haircut, and the lady just started cutting without even asking. She only said, "Do you just want to trim your hair?" and I ended up getting a trim. But she couldnt even trim my hair properly. It seemed like she didnt care about how she was cutting it; she just cut it however. The length of my left and right sides is off by an inch, and when I checked my hair at home, I couldnt believe my eyes. The ends of my hair were uneven, and it looked like she tried to make the length even, but there were many spots where some hairs stuck out at least half an inch more. It doesnt make sense at all that they charge $40 for such a terrible haircut

Ben Tanet Jirathammpat Made an appointment with owner “Lisa” clearly stated when called for appointment since been getting hair cut with her for few times. Arrived on time, Lisa then refused to give us haircut but direct us to another stylist. This is a bummer !!! Drove all the way from Seattle and being treated poorly. Told her we made appointment with her, not another stylist. She only said “next time” . Ended up got haircut with another stylist and Lisa was just chatting around with no customers, and the haircut weren’t great too. Was very disappointed and will not return to this place :(

Jenifer Luong I was promptly whisked into the hair washing station once my appointment was confirmed. There was an entertaining assistant that washed my hair and discussed about the area. The actual hairdresser was very quick with my actual haircut, because I requested an easy one. Sometimes theyre sequestered to other clients since its a small team, but they make sure everyone is taken care of. I will be returning here for my next haircut for sure.

Jennifer The gals at this place are great! It’s over an hour drive for me but they do an amazing job on my hair so it is so worth the drive!

aygeekimmy This salon was recommended to me by a friend, so I took a chance and made a reservation for a haircut. When I got there, they were all super sweet. There was a small scheduling snafu, but Lisa and her staff got everything sorted. I had originally planned for just a cut, but after chit-chatting with Lisa I ended up getting a perm as well. The two staff members working today were very attentive, and I had a great time chatting with everyone. They were super busy, but they checked in with me to make sure I didnt need anything. Im super happy with Lisas suggestion of hairstyle/perm, and I enjoyed joking around with the male staff member they had. The female staff member there was super sweet and answered all of my random questions. I would 10/10 go there again, and wouldnt hesitate to recommend this salon to my friends. Thank you, Hair Bank staff!

Joanna L Been going here for years with my Korean parents. Its a small salon with 4 chairs. The owners are working hard to follow all safety guidelines due to COVID and everything is clean and ready for customers. Very kind lady and easy to talk to (in Korean and some English). Haircuts are quick and stylish and they can color and perm as well. Only draw back is they try to sell you product but what salon doesnt do that.

Michael My girlfriend had her hair permed body wave for 150.00. She has long hair. The lady said to not to shampoo her hair till next day. Did not wash hair at all for 2 days. Only washed with water and the curls were barley there. She called the lady and she just made excuses and that it was not her fault. We spend top dollars on the best perm for 150.00 and there was no curls. Looked like some kids playing around with store bought perm solution. She would not answer phone or texts and will not refund or redo the perm. She is very dishonest and NONPROFESSIONAL INCOMPETENT. Be aware she will rip you off. BTW, my girlfriend is a professional hair stylest herself. She has graded this lady a 3 out of 10.

ZIMM C GO ELSEWHERE! I started out in November 2020 with starter dreads at this place $300 is what they charged. They recommended come to their shop every 3-4 weeks the 1st year, $100 each time, by August 2021 still looked like i had an afro with twists, $1500 spent by this time and STILL no dreads. Finally almost a year & $1500 later they put artificial hair in with mine and dreads finally started. Fast forward from 2022-2024 & spent $2000 in those 2 years on maintenance, adding artificial dreads because they still had no idea what they were doing. At this point Im at $3500 spent by October 2024, I asked for an appointment for an interlock, they sent me to the 38th st location in Tacoma. The stylist starts working on my hair for about twenty minutes, and then she tells me she doesnt know how to do interlock so she calls the owner, and then the owner says, just do a maintenance, and she didnt even know how to do that, she probably did like 3 twists on my hair and then I said, im done after about 45 mins because at this point, my hair looked absolutely terrible So the stylist calls the owner and the owner said charge him $100. I even took pictures and sent it to the owner about how dissatisfied I was with that appointment. They never refunded my money or gave me another appointment.But the owner send me a text message saying that the stylists dont want to work with me because my expectations are too high. I said I spent $3500 in 4 years trying to get dreads that look as professional as every other persons out there in mine are the worst looking dreads ive ever seen in my life. I Am Locs is full of scam artists and stylists that have no clue what theyre doing, and I would recommend going somewhere else!!!!!!!

Marissa S. Truly terrible experience I had a scheduled appointment I booked back in March through the Federal Way location for the newest location in Tacoma. Scheduling issues arose, and I had to make contact just to ensure confirmation. I arrived early to my child’s appointment as I always do and was informed there would be delays in our start time. Based on the amount of their service, I did not think that aligned with the experience or my expectations. Last month’s appointment in Federal Way was much smoother, and I believe that was only due to the inexperienced stylists we were assigned. When I called in March, the fees were inflated drastically. I wouldn’t waste money coming here; the one-star ratings are a telltale sign that I should have paid attention to. The woman booking these appointments needs to be better organized with scheduling and confirming appointments, especially given the time frame on which she accepts. It was carelessly handled.

Carolyn Edwards Sage at I Am Locs in Seattle is a phenomenal stylist, and an expert in her craft She takes great care when doing your hair.

kitty I called in asking for a retie and told them I needed a few hours because i have a lot of hair. First, it was expensive, second, we started a half hour late. They kept pausing my hair to do someone elses or to do something around the shop and I wasnt aware they put a time limit even though I called and asked for a whole day session. 3 hours in they ask for me to come back in a few weeks to finish the rest...Like, what!?. They couldve finished it THE SAME DAY. Now I paid almost $400 and only 75% of my hair is COMPLETED. Never In my 5-year loc journey have I ever paid that much just for an incomplete job. Just go to an independent loctician, its cheaper, there are zero to fewer people causing distractions and your loctician can focus on doing your hair rather than taking constant breaks to run around the shop.

Paul Muita I made an appointment for starter locs. Requested no part in the hair, showed them a picture and they still managed to give me a completely different style than I requested. I called them a few times to book a follow up appointment and they didnt answer the phone. I dont recommend them at all.

Bae Hugh “Hyo” Been living in WA 10+ years and this is by far the best hair salon and quality of service. If you think this place is not good, you’re either stuck in your own zone or not following any trend. The owner not only professionally handled my wife and daughter but also cut my hair too. The outcome was absolutely amazing. My wife and I are really picky about our hair style and haven’t found any nice place here and almost gave up looking for a hair dresser who can actually cut hair. Super glad we finally found this little gem.

Haeun J I have naturally curly hair and have been doing a straight perm periodically twice a year. First of all, it is cheap for a reason. Quality is bad. I asked for a straight perm twice, both two times were not straight and ended up damaging my hair. This has NEVER happened to me before in any other hair salon. The second time I did my hair here, I waited for 6 days to call the owner. (I was instructed to not wash my hair for 3 days, and wanted to believe the product was not absorbed yet, so I waited another 3 days for better result) After I showed the picture, the owner admitted that it was not done correctly, but refused a refund. Just asked me to come and she will do it again. I said I wanted a refund since she failed twice, but she said she is not in charge of the finances of her salon with other excuses. So I told her I filed a chargeback on my credit card to avoid arguing. I called the shop after 2-3weeks regarding the status of the chargeback. The owner said she’ll ask her son whos in charge of the finances. I waited for a day, and her son used his personal phone to call me and asked what happened. I was super uncomfortable, and a bit scared that she shared my number without my CONSENT. I am still confused why I was explaining this to her son who was not in this situation with no knowledge of cosmetology. Son said he talked to his mom and decided that they can’t do a refund since they can’t always make the hair 100% to fit clients tastes..? LOL This is the worst experience I ever had with a salon, I highly highly do not recommend this place.

Mike Tube Had my hair permed, and it was absolutely done horribly. It lasted a whole 2 weeks at best, when they usually last 3-4 months when I get it done elsewhere. Prior to the perm my hair was cut as well, and it was very uneven all around. Very amateurish, and one of my biggest mistakes. Please do not waste your time nor money here.
