The Best 7 Hair Salons in Seattle, King (part 4)

Brenna Tait Colo Cannot sing the praises of this salon enough, finally got a cut that brings out my natural waves. My stylist, KK, was so sweet and knowledgeable and spent the time to teach me how to style my hair properly. It was such a unique experience that I had been searching for that I brought my mom who has always struggled to cut and style her hair (curlier than mine) and she loves it as well. It is such a welcoming and inclusive environment, and the salon supports the community. They send out a monthly newsletter (just one, not a ton of emails) that highlight events and what we can be doing to help each other and fight back. So not only a wonderful hair salon, but the kind of business I want to be supporting!

Hailey Pierce Whenever I have actually been able to get my haircut it’s been great but on multiple occasions I have waited well over thirty minutes or been cancelled on last minute for a scheduled appointment. I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and keep going but this last time I waited 45 minutes after driving over an hour to Seattle just for her to cancel on me, there was another person there who also ended up leaving because their stylist never showed either. If you book with someone who will actually show up I’ve always been satisfied with the haircut itself but the unprofessionalism is not worth it!!

Ariel Mei Foxycut is AMAZING! Its been a bucket list to color my hair and Miguel + Foxycut team made it a wonderful experience. Plus my hair has never been healthier. Thank you FoxyCut!!

Ang It I requested an appointment online several days in advance with Natalie for the listed 2:30 time slot for a trim for my afro, which she quickly accepted. I arrived at 2:15 and got a quick acknowledgement when I walked in the door, then was completely ignored for the next 25 minutes. At 2:42 Natalie finally came up to me in the waiting area and told me itd be another 30 minutes at least, at which point I decided to leave. Absolutely terrible customer service and terrible communication. Why accept or even list a time slot in the first place if youre double-booking yourself, and if you know youre double-booked why not communicate that sooner? Zero respect for new clients time.

Keondia Woodley I’ve never had a curly cut done so I was nervous, but Miguel discussed every step with me to ensure I understood what he was doing and how to also do it myself. I appreciate his kindness and patience with the whole process. I walked out knowing more about my hair and I can’t wait to go back for another appointment in the future.

Keith D Dont go here with a POOR ATTITUDE or try to scam a free haircut. Ive been there about 100 times and theyve always done a great job. If you treat people well they will treat you well. Its not worth it to set an appointment just try to go there when there arent 3 or more people waiting in the lobby. Owner Jenny paid for beautiful artwork on her building to STOP THE GRAFFITI. She and her staff really care about the entire neighborhood. Everyone works extremely hard here. Ive known this place for almost a decade. Maybe you dont go on a Saturday morning because its really busy and of course REGULARS go first like every other business Ive been to. Their MENs haircut is $15 cant be beat. I was paying $40 at Sports Clips for a really bad haircut and a hot face towel after tingly shampoo. Here they ALL take the extra time to make sure you get a complete haircut. Its only $5 more to get your hair washed and its also very relaxing. Be generous with TIPPING because thats why the OWNER sets extremely fair prices. I dont speak VIETNAMESE but just being nice, smiling and asking the HAIRDRESSERS if theyre having a good day is all you need. Mens haircut go better if you know what kind of cut you need. If they recommend 3 on the sides and 4 on top, I can also just say go 2 for the whole haircut. If you ever have a concern just ask Jenny she has never failed to make it right for me or any other customer Ive seen.

Puje Byambaa They are no English and not professional at all and they don’t understand what kind of haircut I want. Place is super dirty, I feel like they never sanitize and clean their hair brush and other stuffs too. Also ladies are so rude, I think King County should look on this place because I saw that they were not even cleaning their hairs on the floor between their customers and towels were so dirty I bet they have never washed their towels and their scissors and other stuffs too.

Michelle Vo I do not recommend this salon if you are looking for a haircut that boosts your confidence or is easy to maintain. The quality of the haircuts here is very low, reflecting a lack of skill. In particular, if you are seeking well-executed layers or even a trim (which could end up being 4 inches shorter), I suggest looking elsewhere. If you show them a photo, dont expect the result to look anything like the image. Additionally, the stylists often do not listen to customer requests, resulting in styles that do not match what was asked for. Overall, the lack of attention to detail and customer satisfaction makes this salon a poor choice. puujee puje My appointment was at 12:30 and I waited two hours worst hair salon ever!!!!!!!! Their pricing is women without hair washing 20$, but this time they charged me 30$ without hair wash. Super slow so rude!!!!!!!!!!! If you don’t speak Vietnamese they will milk your money!!!!

Daniel Tran Do not ever come here for a good haircut. I showed them a picture and verbally requested details, but it went completely ignored and the stylist just cut my hair the way she wanted. It is an absolutely horrific haircut and it was done poorly. This place is a nightmare. I’m not coming back again and you shouldn’t even give this place your money or time.

Soleil Miyamoto TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN IT COMES TO PRICES. The woman who did mine didnt braid tight enough (which in the moment I thought she did b/c Im not tender headed so any type of tightness doesnt hurt me). After 4 days hair looked like Ive worn it for months. I talked to the owner and it seemed like she was understanding, but after she finished re-braiding my hair, she tried to charge me an $95 on top of the $108 from last time. She claimed cornrows only last a week. A week? Making people pay $90-$110 for something that only last a few days is highway robbery. Cornrows should last at least up to 4 weeks. I would seriously only come here if you want locs.

She will waste your time for years on end. In Gregoria an African lady does my hair in an hour instead of the three it takes he purposely slow ahhhh

Stärke Melissa has hands of magic and the entire staff is super kind! Prices are incredible for what you get! Cannot wait to do another design the next time Im in! I schedule online for the earliest times when I book and am sat down within 5 min. Each time only takes 45min tops with a shampoo and maybe 30min without! Super fast service, always consistent with me, and the braids speak from themselves!

Tiffany Dang I’m super picky with my complex layers, my old stylist moved so I took a chance on this salon. The owner Vy was spot on first time around, she’s so sweet and professional, and an awesome colorist! Just recently got a balayage, will upload pictures soon. But Vy is my go to now! Highly recommend.

Kimberly Pham This salon is clean, spacious, and friendly. I usually come here for cuts, oil treatment, and colors when Im in town. Im very happy with Vy. She does an excellent job working with me so we can get the color or style the way I wanted. She is patient, a good listener, and always works hard. I always left her salon with a smile and perfect and stylish hair design. Since the salon is located in a retail plaza, there are lots of parking spaces. Their prices are inexpensive. All staff is fully vaccinated and clients who are fully vaccinated have the option to not wear a mask. Highly recommend this salon to anyone who is in the search of a new stylish.

Philicia Saephan My son got a haircut by Tao. She did an amazing job, very friendly and so talented! I cant believe the haircut was only $15, she has great quality cuts for that price. The lady who took my payment gave me a glare when I didnt leave a tip on my payment, so that was obvious...but of course I left a $10 tip in cash for Tao. Anywho, I recommend Tao she was great. Neha Kazi The worst hair salon ever Ive been. I asked for blow hair dry. I have a lot of hair and really curly hair and can do the blow out as well. I have done it multiple times. This woman started complaining how i wanted to style it , straight and on curls in end. She started straightening with a straightener. And then she keeps arguing that she can’t do it cause i have a lot of hair and curly. I told her not to do it and then im sure she was complaining about me in her language with other person. If you don’t want to do it just say it firsthand. Never coming back!

Yasmeen Farooq I love this salon. They are hard working people and did a great job on my hair. I got quoted too much from other salons especially since I have a pixie cut. I got quoted from $200-300 but this place did my hair coloring for $70. What a steal.

Adilijiang Ali Definitely one of the best barbershop in Seattle. As an Asian, it is really hard to find a good barber that knows the taste of Asian people, it took me a couple of years to find them! Great service and attitude, and most importantly skillful, definitely only not going to other shops anymore! came back million times after the first time, still one of the best place you can get your haircut! Jay is definitely the best!

Erin Wang Have been here several years for hair bleaching, hair colors, and hair cuts! They are nice people providing great services. They always offer free water and snacks. They are honest in providing services needed and opinions on the looks as they are the experts in this field and they know not all styles suits everyone. Interiors is clean. Free WiFi in the facility. They always provide free bang trim for their customers as well. Street parking is free on Sundays.

Eric Jun Taichang This is an experience from a few years ago, but you should avoid the stylist named Jun. He tried to upsell me on expensive products and biweekly appointments by making dubious claims about the health of my scalp. When I declined, he made up service charges that inflated the final cost of my haircut. Then, he told me to tip more because they "dont pay their interns a salary and rely on tips to pay them." Terrible business practices, slimy individual. Given the review from a year ago, Jun might still be there. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Thomas Li I feel that I got a very good cut. I am an Asian man and it is hard to get it cut right but I feel like this place does the job. I wish it was a bit cheaper so that is why Im giving four stars...it is $55 for a short hair mens cut. They do not really speak english here (but not taking stars off for that). This place and the one salon next to Asian family market on Aurora are the best places to go in my opinion for Asian men cuts.

Shiqin Chen My original plan was only going to cut short my hair, my hairdresser asked if I want to do some style which includes haircuts fee, so it’s free. Actually, when he is done, it’s totally surprised me, it’s my favorite and best so far, if I have some party I definitely will come to here to do my hair styles.

Iman Osman Went in just to get my hair straightened. I already washed and conditioned. She didn’t blow dry my hair and she burned my scalp. I kept complaining but she kept burning my hair. They don’t know how to do hair. Don’t waste your time here if you are African.

Joyce Alcon I always go this salon to get my hair dyed, before I always got nice hair and stuff but when I went recently to get my hair dyed again my hair like burned and they didnt get what I want and it cost me like $200 plus. I dont want to be rude but yah they didnt let me know that they cant do the thing that I wanted to do.
