Frelima Dixon This place is Awesome, maybe not the newest facility but VERY Good people working in there who are sensitive to the family nature and have whats best in mind for the patients. They dont play no messy back and forth. If wayward family members are in there, causing disturbances and wanting to pull the plug over their patients, they will restrict that in order to continue to heal the patient and only deal with the spouse or if no spouse is present the next closest member. They will not allow childish family disturbances, which is a Peace of Mind they are so Awesome. This is not Palative Care, so there are no dying patients who are not expected to recover, they are very attentive with patients and skilled in their treatments, with patience.

Kenneth Stewart Ive been coming to visit my brother every single day and have had the pleasure of getting to know many of the staff on a personal level. Whether they are security, admin, cleaning, cafeteria, or medical staff, I must say I am overall pleased with the level of professionalism, care, cleanliness, and bedside manner that has been provided for my brother. There are always ways we can all improve and my only constructive criticism would be to allow for overnight visitors, as everyone deserves to have someone by their side when recovering so they dont wake up scared, or confused. In the time that he has been here at Kindred, he has made huge strides in his recovery journey. He is forging new neural pathways and relearning how to move his extremities and even recently he began tracking with his eyes following visitors and staff from left to right. He has begun squeezing our hand and moving his leg in reaction to getting his feet washed since he has ticklish feet. At the end of the day The Most High has the final say over my brothers life, but without the dedicated and professional staff here at Kindred, and those of us that love him, who are advocating for him, and are choosing to speak life into him, rather than death over him, his recovery journey would be much harder. If it be The Most Highs will that my brother lives, there is nothing that anyone can say or do to stop it. Thank you for your continued care of my beloved brother, may The Most High bless you for your labours in love.

Kameisha P Dont send your family here if you love them! My dad suffered cardiac arrest on 12/12/24. He was without oxygen for over 10 minutes and unfortunately suffered a stroke on his entire brain leaving him in a permanent vegetative state. He was transferred from ICU to Kindred on 1/19/2025. Ive been visiting my dad every week and on my last visit 2/27/2025 while I was literally crying over my dads body, I was verbally told by Jessica, the Director of Quality, that my dads wife restricted my visitation rights to see my dad. When I asked why, I was told that the wife doesnt want any medical information shared with me. Kindred threatened to call the police on me if I did not leave. I left very sad and confused. My dads wife has no reason to restrict me and is abusing her right as POA. My dad is now isolated from seeing his child and if he could talk he wouldnt allow this. Unfortunately he has a trach and cannot talk. Everytime I visited, his health is declining. His only movements are blinking which are involuntary as he is in a permanent vegetative state. He isnt responding to any commands. Its so sad. My dad isnt getting better and his wife has been lying to the family acting like his health is getting better when the only thing keeping him alive is his trach which helps him breathe and a feeding tube. Its sad seeing my dad withering away as hes lost so much muscle mass and is practically bones. Im devastated. My dads wife and Kindred didnt restrict anyone elses visitation ONLY MINE. This is selfish and unjust. How are strangers allowed to visit but not a daughter?? My dad is literally lying in his own feces with bed sores and with feeding tubes in his stomach, a permanent trach his throat and various infections including pneumonia and worse of all, he is in a permanent vegetative state. The doctor told me the chances of recovering are "slim to none"and he can die any day. All I wanted was to be by his side, now I cant see him and I dont know why. This WRONG! I think my dads wife restricted me for personal reasons and retaliation because Ive asked her friend Ken to leave while I visit my dad. While my dad was in ICU, my dads wife allowed this man to take showers in my dads hospital room and I thought that was weird and didnt feel comfortable with that while visiting my dad in a critical condition. Kindred isnt even providing me with updates on my dads health. This institution is awful for allowing my dads wife to restrict me for her own bias reasons.

Bud Bateman If I could give negative stars I would. I was a patient here last summer. My first feeling when I arrived on day 1 was "Im going to get killed in this place." The staff seemed very incompetent. Most of the staff was hired from overseas and barely spoke English. This is very frustrating to a patient with a trach who cannot talk. If it werent for my wife constantly by my side, I honestly feel like I would have died at Kindred- First Hill. Fast-forward to today. Now I am dealing with rude billing staff. I have paid in full the bills that my insurance has advised me to pay. However, the billing department is trying to strong arm payment. They have sent my account to collections despite my insurance telling them it is not my financial responsibility. I have been hung up on, yelled at, and been spoken over to the point that I cannot get a word in before they hang up. They have been screening my calls also. I have filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney Generals Consumer Protection Division. I will never recommend anyone be sent here. I do not wish to receive your cut and paste response, but would rather someone from Senior Management reach out to me. My information is on file with the hospital. Ask Cindy since she wants to screen my calls.

Megan Mendel My mom stayed here for a couple of months and when I asked her, she said she would rate it 4 stars. In her opinion, one star is removed because night shift can be a bit slow to respond to call lights. But otherwise, the staff was very kind and attentive to her and she felt taken care of. The food was also pretty good. I agree with a 4 star rating and only removed a star on my end because doctors/providers can be slow to communicate with family members. Otherwise the staff is amazing and took good care of her.

Kevin Forney This location is a bit depressing but otherwise Ive had a good experience. Staff at general surgery were helpful and chill. Overall good service. If you dont like what you got here, just remember that the American healthcare system is absolutely terrible. Vote for reform. We all deserve better.

H F I just completed a GI procedure at the Polyclinic on Broadway and had terrific care. From reception, to nurse(s), to anesthesiologist, to doctor everyone was professional, kind and helpful. Everything from making the appointment, getting prescription, preparation/post procedure information went smoothly. My regular Swedish doc referred me here because he had good experience with them, and I can tell him mine was great as well.

z s Absolute horrible clinic. i visited gastroenterologist. The doctor was not that great. Did not gave me any info that I can not find from google. They charged me $460 which is completly unjustified. Disgusting people.

Marissa Biggs Unprepared and rude. This has been a bad experience from the consultation, to the surgery, to post op. I’m experiencing an issue after surgery and my outpatient paperwork says that I can call my doctor at any time to speak to my surgeon or another one on staff. I called, and when I reached the Polyclinic, the operator was rude. They told me I did not have permission to speak to my surgeon and told me to just message on MyChart. I told them I have no available recipients on mychart so I’m not able to and they said they don’t have access to it and don’t have a number for me to call. Why give a 24 hour number on the paperwork if you “don’t have permission” to talk to your provider? They said they would leave a message with the surgeon but if I don’t hear anything by the end of the day I’m just going to urgent care and seeing another provider. This place is not worth it. And this is all just the tip of the iceberg.

Sarah Daniels I see Dr Han at the GI clinic and gosh, she is just the nicest and most thorough. Her nurse Angela is SO friendly! I’m really lucky to have found this office immediately upon moving to Seattle! The whole staff at Polyclinic has been wonderful for me. Dr Gladstone did my hemorrhoidectomy and was super friendly and attentive as well. Lab testing has always been quick and efficient with very experienced nurses. Zero complaints from me!

Dave Johnson 1st appointment 1045 arrive 25 minutes early and bring paperwork downloaded to expedite process transfer from Swedish. Front staff really good. Nurse had attitude. Records not processed at VM was told previously it was all shared digitally will not need to fill out anything, so they have my entire patient history. Not a true statement, so back to filling out paperwork. Finally taken back to room 40 minutes later. At 1130 told Were running late currently. Finally at noon I asked and told the Dr. is in a meeting and will be longer. I got up and walked out. Expect us to be punctual but they ate not. Sure did not have this issue at swedish think I will be staying there. 5+ hours of wasted time.

Amberley Deeds Like every department at Virginia Mason now, it took two months to get an appointment. I was supposed to see audiologist for a hearing test then ENT immediately after. Apparently when the scheduler booked it “immediately after” actually mean two hours later. So I never got to see an ENT. The audiologist told me the feedback I was getting from my hearing aid was my hair - I’ve had a hearing aid for six years, anyone who wears one knows the difference between your hair sounds and microphone feedback screeching in your ear. At the end of the hearing test I realized there was a second person in the audiologist booth and I was not told. Weird. Cut to regrouping with the scheduler and telling her I couldn’t wait two hours and needed to get to work: “are your ears not bothering you right now?” Well scheduler that is actually not something you ask me and especially not in a super condescending tone. I declined the reschedule and left. Finding any of the other ENT offices I’m calling can get me in in a timely manner and none of the receptionists are going rude. Bye VM, it’s been real but waiting 2-4 months for appointments is crazy.

Mary Allenbach Dr. Erickson is very thorough with examinations. I would definitely recommend her to others. I saw her last year and my son who is 26 saw her last week. One complaint - She scheduled him for surgery on his xmas break and asked us to call to verify the time Monday so we could buy a plane ticket from college. I called 3 times on Monday and the scheduler never returned my call. I am very concerned because it is the only break where he can leave college until summer and this is an urgent procedure he is having trouble breathing.

Susan Perry Avoid at all costs. Reception is a mess and incredibly difficult to communicate with. The doctors are even worse. Avoid Alana Alyward and Craig Miller at all costs. The care I received was appalling. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

Chris Very amateurish. My new primary doctor referred me here. I have ringing in the ears. They had me take a hearing test and then to a Nurse Practitioner. They would not allow me to see a doctor. The first thing the NP said was that 8/10 people have ringing and that there isnt anything that can done to get rid of it...only to manage it. I had to ask if there was a possibility of one of my meds being the cause. She never asked. I asked if they had a list of meds that are known to have tinnitus as a side effect. She said she did not. I asked if any of my meds could be the cause. She said she didnt know and that she couldnt possibly memorize all the drugs that can cause tinnitus...that I would have to Google them. I questioned why they wouldnt have a list already. She got upset and said "alright, give them to me". She grumpily rushed through and found two of mine on her computer that have this known side affect. She made me feel like I was being unreasonable. Really? An experienced doctor would never handle this the same way. I asked to see a doctor and she said she was a sleep specialist....very unprofessional. My wife just went to Swedish for the same thing and after a hearing test, their protocol is to see an MD. I am going to Swedish from now on.

Meltem Aksu They gave me an appointment for a Dr confirming that she accepts new patients. 48 hrs before the appointment I got a "silenced" phone call that quickly went to voicemail that says the Dr is actually not accepting new patients and I need to find another dr. They didnt even apologize in their voicemail, now I dont have an appointment, have to wait for more than a month to maybe book an appt. with a dr that I dont prefer.

Sherrick Thuesmunn Unethical. My insurance (ambetter) scammed me by telling me this location has in-network primary providers. I went to this location to see my primary provider, and then got a $700 bill. When I called PMC to get some help, they just tell me theres nothing they can do and they arent contracted to provide primary care under Ambetter. They accepted me as a patient knowing this and gladly took my money. They got theirs, insurance doesnt have to pay a dime on an in-network office visit, and I get stuck with a $700 bill. What a joke and what a scam.

Julie Extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone to help you. The doctor that replaced Dr. Carlin is all business and doesn’t really seem to care about you as a person. When trying to refill a prescription it takes weeks or even a month even if your pharmacy contacts them directly. It is very frustrating to have to call again and again.

Jovany Johnson Horrible customer service. My name is Jovany Johnson and I tried to have my mother take care of some billing and other information for me since I work 14+ hours a day trying to get my own company off the ground and they told her they couldn’t tell her anything even though they had full written consent to disclose information regarding my visits since I don’t have time to do that anymore. I do not recommend them one bit. Horrible horrible horrible customer experience. They talked down to both of us making my mother cry over the phone. If you have to go anywhere, don’t go here.

Amy S An absolutely nightmare to work with the GI department at Virgina Mason. I saw Dr. Brandler and he hardly listens to you and touts that most GI problems are psychological in nature. He refuted that I dont have the symptoms of other diagnosis Ive gotten from medical professionals. He hardly let me speak enough to voice that I needed to be checked for a possible Hernia. His physical exam wasn’t more than 30 seconds. I also asked him to wear a mask in-office and while he said he would do this, the mask was off his nose most of the time. I was told I would get an MRI called in for me on Feb 3rd and after non-stop back and forth over something relatively simple, it’s now Feb 24th and I’ve gotten no response to my multiple follow-ups via my chart and phone. The front desk is unhelpful at best. The two times I called them a team lead or nurse was unavailable and I didn’t get any call-backs. I was told Dr. Brandlers supervisor was contacted and I still wasnt promised a call-back regarding the issues. I’m not sure how the GI department is even in business at this point, with how poorly things are handled and mis-managed.

M V So frustrating I have been calling once a week for the last three weeks just to have somebody call me back to schedule downtown. Apparently nobody knows how to schedule downtown or know how to call a patient back! So if you’re dying do not risk your life waiting on gastroenterology Virginia Mason !

Josef Blanc-Ridings They do not reach out and patients are required to prompt the hospital in order to start prescription renewals - including for critical, life saving medicine that may stop working if not renewed on time. Patient services will make sure that it is the patient responsibility to manage their own care, by blaming the patient. Additionally, Virginia Mason does not have a visible ethics board to report to, and patient services will not respond via phone. They will also not respond to requests to document this on patient health charts. This lack of service is incredibly dangerous for a hospital specialized in diseases that are oftentimes life-threatening. Do not trust Virginia Mason GI.

Sandra Benitez I have been trying to get scheduled for MONTHS now. I am considered a follow-up patient and each year it’s been a constant hassle to get me scheduled in, but this year is the worst. I leave messages, my PCP leaves messages and they do not respond back. I understand that a prior authorization is required for insurance, but when I call insurance I am told they haven’t submitted anything or they are missing supporting documentation. Dr Siddique’s staff lacks communication skills given I leave constant messages to which I NEVER get a call back. If they can’t/wont see me, then let me know and stop playing with my health so I can look for a new DR which at this point is what I should do.

Dan Arnett 20 Feb 2023 - 5 Stars I have numerous health issues, including 8 transplants. Ive had 35 operations in the past 15 years. The intake, pre-op, and my awake time in two procedure rooms today, as well as post-op care, was all excellent. The staff, nurses, and surgeon explained all accpect of what was going to occur. They listened to my questions and explained how the two procedures today would adjust to my unique health isdues. Ive had great, good, and bad experiences having major procedures and surgeries in the past. Todays experience was excellent.
