1 /5 shellby connelly: I used to like this place. I will only return to have my vehicle inspection rechecked for free, per NYS Law. It is convenient to be down the street; I can walk for drop-off and pick-up. The first handful of times, it was normal. Hey, fix this; oh, we found this wrong. The bulk was after a car accident, so I understood there is always minor damage we cant see.
Well, my respect and opinions have drastically changed. For one, they should not be trying to play a female who has been around and worked on cars her whole life. Just because someone gives off a quirky, naĂŻve vibe does not mean they are. I have noticed this with them since day one. They also target the military. They try to get more out of you than being out of state. My husband told me to stop saying I could get the parts cheaper due to my family and their involvement with the industry; he said it was a little insulting of me to say that out loud.
I consulted with my mechanics back home on parts and the discrepancy in their findings and estimates. They told me changing it would be complex and take a long time. It should not. I understand this issue, but not being notified about it was ridiculous until I arrived. I did describe the problems with my phone and not save numbers, but specifically told them I could see when I have missed a call from anyone. Just call, and I will see it. I will call back if needed. I ended up just walking down.
There was no biggie besides the apparent crack in the light housing, which doesnt affect any safety aspect because it has nothing to do with the red portion. They said there was a tear in my windshield wiper. I am no fool, so I document EVERYTHING before I leave it in the hands of someone I dont know. There was no tear because those are brand new, barely five months old, and the kicker is I only drive 15 miles, maybe every two weeks. I do not drive often; they are not being used. I understand the taillight, I also passed the last 2 years of inspections with it cracked. The only reason it cracked is because I couldn’t turn my neck due to a spine injury, so if they took the crack as me being an airhead, wrong. I have a significant injury in my spine due to an MMA accident.
I also clean my car often and check around for scratches, etc. I am a thorough person. This apparent tear is smaller than the top of my pinky nail and wasn’t there prior. Again, I am sure to document stuff. I don’t play. YES, YOUR SHOP is responsible for that. I also have my dash cam that is easily triggered on. It records everything.
I also noticed an attempt to pop off the silver panel on my tailgate where it says Jeep, and I know I didn’t do it; I know my husband didn’t. So we will only be back for a recheck, which I am sure you guys will find something; fingers are crossed you don’t because you have already jacked my week. Plus, the audacity you had to try to do stuff to my wipers to make it a double whammy for me.
You don’t know your customers attention to detail or sense of documentation. I am in the process of becoming a forensic nurse; that’s what my life revolves around documentation, notes, pictures, etc.
I also found the inspection manual and all the NYS DOT training for those who can do inspections. And made sure I did not miss anything, and again this wiper situation is because of you. Plus it did not fall under the fail portion.
I hope going forward, you don’t treat me or any other female lower than a male, and the same to the military community.
