Carpe Diem Haircuts are on point. Friendly hairstylist. Very difficult to reschedule and cancel appointment. Never received any reply back until the morning of the appointment. I tried multiple times 2 weeks prior to the appointment to reschedule through the app and kept putting me on waitlist. I called, no answer so I left a voicemail more than 24 hours before the appointment. I sent a text the night before the appointment. And received a text back the morning of the appointment letting me know that I will be charged late cancellation fee. And now I saw $80 charge on my credit card. The difficulty of canceling and rescheduling through the app and via phone cost me $80. I guess I’ll look for new hair salon that is more responsive when you’re trying to cancel and reschedule and not end up blind sighting me with $80 late cancellation fee. I was not late in canceling/rescheduling. They were just not responding to my request.

Reno Sammons The best hair salon I have been too. After doing hours of research to find a hair salon that fit my needs ( ASD/ anxiety/etc) I stumbled upon Sweet Jane Salon. There are only two stylist there: Norman and Nicholas. Nick cut and styled my hair beautifully. He is a true artist and he loves what he does and it shows in his work. Honestly my hair has never looked better. I didn’t really know what I wanted my hair to look like so I told him the things I wished my hair had more of ( volume, shape, long enough to put into a ponytail). The results speak for themselves. In conclusion, if you have an opportunity to get your hair cut here, don’t hesitate… book the appointment.

Mariane Eirene I’ve been seeing Nick since 2020 and I have never looked back. Every time we have an appointment I come out feeling like my best self. Since being his client I’ve had my hair cut in different types of shags and I bounce between curtain and baby bangs. In my last visit he took my naturally dark brown hair to the perfect copper/red. My husband has also started going to Norm and he always leaves with the best soft mullet. I highly highly recommend Nick and Norm, especially if you’re looking for a razor cut. They are truly the best at what they do.

When I sat down for my coloring and cut, I never expected the class of service I got. She talked to me first about EVERY THING to make sure I understood what I wanted and what my current situation was with my hair. Because of several shoddy dye jobs by other places in the past and one of my own endeavors to dye my hair, I had so much damage, but it had never been brought up by other hair stylists, just colored over. Elle did such an amazing color correction to my hair, then she painstakingly took the time to make sure the new color was applied evenly. After that, she cut my hair better than I could have asked for, and also styled my hair to show me how it would look both straight and styled. I am OBSESSED with my hair now. In total she took 8 hours to do the job no one else had done before, all without breaks or even dinner for herself. That’s why she gets a 5.0; she is not just a stylist, she is an artist, and I highly recommend her to anyone needing some TLC for their hair!

Often times when I see so many 5-star reviews, I think to myself, “This is too good to be true,” but this is not the case with Elle. I came in for a haircut and Elle exceeded my expectations—she perfectly captured what I asked for through her meticulous attention to detail. I asked for a layered look with face framing layers and I got a new hairdo with layers that are perfectly blended in the back and movement/body all around. Rebekah Childers I’ve been going to Bj for 3 years now and won’t ever go anywhere else. I have very thick, course, curly/wavy hair and A LOT OF IT. I’ve had a lot of trouble finding stylists over the years who can cut my hair without turning me into a triangle head (flat on top with too much hair and friz at the bottom layers). He does a remarkable job every time, perfect length layers and no thinning tools required! He’s a wonderful person too, the conversation is genuine and he adores my daughter. It’s a great experience with great prices. I highly highly recommend!

Job after I fried my hair with bleach sessions during Covid to get it pink. I had to have natural hair color going back to work and with minimal chemicals he was able to cover up the mess I made with my hair. He was patient, extremely kind, definitely coming back for years to come!

Rebekah Garcia Absolutely amazing. I barely told BJ what I wanted, basically just a trim and add a few layers, and he knew exactly how to handle my hair. He noticed immediately that I had too long of layers on top so my hair was weighed down leaving me when that triangle effect (straight and flat on top of my head then boom volume and curls surrounding my shoulders.) He shortened my top layers and just trimmed my split ends off the bottom layers. My hair looks incredible!! I now have a balanced look with volume and curls all over instead of just surrounding my shoulders. BJ was extremely precise, he took his time and made sure not a hair on my head was out of place. He also was very kind and genuine, we talked about kids and life the whole time. I will always go to BJ as long as Im in San Diego, I highly highly recommend him!! Great experience, great staff, great prices, great haircut!

I cannot recommend Queens hair studio enough! Whether you like your hair curly or straight Lorena will take amazing care of you. The photos in chair is where I started with Lorena. Fluffy frizzy hair with little curl pattern. The mirror photo shows I can choose to wear my hair curly now if I please (great curl pattern after some frizz treatments) and the photo with my family members is my hair with just blow drying! So much more manageable ✨

Tina WIlhelm I got one of my favorite haircuts here recently, complete with a hairstyling that blew me away! I have thick, wavy hair that really wants to curl but I didn’t know how to style it to get it to do so. Alyssa was a magician and upon request styled my hair naturally to embrace the curls I didn’t even realize I had! As for the haircut, I wanted one that would embrace a low-maintenance styling and Alyssa did just that. I love how she layered hair my hair and think this will be my go-to haircut from here on out. As an icing on the cake, Alyssa is so incredibly sweet and lovely to talk to!

EJ Levy I’m super impressed with Lucy. Context: I’ve been getting my hair done in NYC for a decade and since moving here have the hardest time finding anyone in San Diego who can properly cut and blend layers with textured, curly hair. Lucy is relatively new - just promoted from trainee to level 1! - but she clearly has a gift. My cuts have been perfect and exactly what I’ve asked her to do. She’s friendly, unrushed, and takes her job very seriously. I highly recommend giving Lucy a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Angelina Madruga This is my second appointment at the salon but first appointment with Alyssa. She was a trainee and was so great! She takes her time and is very meticulous and kind. I love my hair and she did great. She took into account my curls very well and knew what length to cut the hair looking at the level or shrinkage my hair has. I think she would be great for anyone with wavy or curly hair as well! The salon is very clean and peaceful and well kept!

Araceli Rojas Christina transformed my long, straight hair (which was below my butt) into the perfect butterfly/wolf cut, exactly what I wanted in terms of style and length. She was easy to talk to, and the entire process took less than an hour, including her taking the time to prepare my hair for donation. The shop itself is gorgeous, and everyone was welcoming and friendly. It’s also worth noting that the rate was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the experience. Plus, it’s a safe space for anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Alice Fuzileira LLC Elli is absolutely amazing! She did my hair on Sunday, which is rare as most salons are closed. She is very energetic and professional. I had orange hair with very bad gray roots. She did a color correction and she also uses amazing products. I traveled three hours out of state to see her. Carly Kreitzberg If you have curly hair, look elsewhere. I am thankful that Kayla was able to squeeze me in last minute, but she used a technique on my curls that destroyed my hair. Backstory: I tried trimming my own ends but then decided it was best to have a professional do it. I looked at a few salons in the neighborhood and I chose Omnia because of the positive Google reviews. I arrived asking for a trim, but since I have curly hair and was recovering from another bad haircut, I expressed concerns over how heavy certain sections were. She asked if she wanted me to “thin it out” so I trusted her and said sure. She went in and used a technique where she twisted portions of my hair and snipped it down the twist (I’m assuming to lighten the denser parts?). I told her I wear my hair both curly and blown out/straight, so as I saw her cutting like this I asked how it would look straight and she said it would be fine. When I straightened my hair this weekend, I was horrified. All the short pieces she cut into stick out like wires. I have random strands of hair that are anywhere from 2-6 inches just popping out when I straighten it. This will take years to grow out. I really cannot wear my hair straight until it does so. Extremely disappointing. I do not recommend Kayla for a haircut if you have curly hair.
