I would definitely recommend this company not only because the girls did a good job, but also because we had a signed contract and I had a few people back out of hair/make-up. I was really worried that I would have to pay for the back outs, but there was NO problem in re-doing the contract with the new number. A trial run was required, which is a necessity (during the trail, the stylists and I couldnt stop talking!) The trial helped me figure out what I thought I wanted and what I didnt. Lexi and Chanmi were our girls and everyone was super impressed. They were so personable and made friends with all the girls.

Robert Thorson I’ve been getting my hair cut by Bryce for over almost year now, plan to for as long as he’s cutting hair and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Bryce is not only incredibly skilled but also genuinely passionate about his craft. Every visit is a fantastic experience, and I always leave looking my best.

Raul Eulogio Met Bryce when I moved to SLO and needed to find a barber. Hes provided consistent results and takes time to understand your needs. Definitely recommend since he has an amazing track record for excellent customer service.

Kyle Cohen Not only is Bryce is a great barber, he’s just a good dude. Down to earth, respectful, easy to chat with all while paying close attention to detail on your haircut. I always leave happy with the results. Would recommend him to anybody without hesitation.

Isaac López Ochoa Bryce is a professional with outstanding skills. He is very attentive to the customers needs and executes precisely what you are trying to accomplish. Every time I come in for a service he always treats me well and gives me outstanding confidence walking out with a clean haircut.

Brandon Rose Josh is deadass the best barber I’ve ever been too. He immediately knew how to style my hair in a way that looked really good. 100% worth it, highly recommend! Great person too!

Jacob Maljian Josh is by far the best barber Ive had. Not sure why I took so long to write this review, but I went to Josh throughout college 2016-2020. He gives a great cut and is just an awesome guy to talk to. He is very responsive by text when inquiring about appointments. Since moving away after graduation, I have tried several barbers near where I currently live, but none of them compare to Josh. Sometimes, if I make my way back up to SLO for a trip, Ill text him to see if hes available to get a good cut with him. If you are thinking of trying him out, do it. You wont regret it.

Dan Troy Josh is a great guy who really knows how to cut mens hair. While he is very efficient, he will always take the time to make sure his clients leave the shop with a great cut. I see guys of all ages come into the shop from college students to distinguished older gets like myself. Best shop in SLO!

Steve Williams I moved from Bakersfield to Morro Bay about four years ago and struggled to find a new barber. After bouncing around for about two years, I tried The Chop Shop. At first, it took about two weeks to get in, and I was a little frustrated because I was getting shaggy. (I later learned that Josh gets booked up because he’s really good.) I really like having a barber who can I go back to faithfully though, so I took a chance. On my first visit, I learned that Josh and I don’t have a ton in common, but we do in the most important areas in life, and that’s all I need. Since that day, Josh has become a great friend who I have a tremendous amount of respect for. In his shop, he is professional and punctual. He runs a tight ship, and is an excellent barber, as well as a man of good character and integrity. I can’t say enough good things about Josh and his shop. If you’re looking for quality, this is the place. It’s worth the wait. Just remember, plan ahead and make an appointment and you’ll be good.

Ames Harris I have been going to Josh for over 7 years. He is by far the best barber in town. I have 5 tricky cowlicks on the top of my head - and he has mastered them- he has excellent cutting skills and his fades are perfect. He is a perfectionist and always takes the time to make sure you have the best hair cut possible. Moreover, Josh is also a great human - who makes everyone feel welcome and valued.

Rachel Day Paige is hands down the best hair stylist in SLO! I never liked getting my hair cut until I started having Paige do my hair in college! I never worry about my haircut when I have her do it—it always looks fantastic! She always makes my hair cut/color look trendy and healthy, and is super friendly and great to chat with. ☺️ Even now that I moved away, I still try to have her do my hair when I come to visit!

Shelby Walker I have been seeing Paige ever since I moved to SLO 5 years ago. She is seriously the most wonderful hairstylist I have ever had. Over the years I have gone from blonde to brunette to lightening it back up and I am never disappointed with the results. She always creates a pleasant and fun experience with her amazing personality! Also, she is super knowledgeable about picking out products to help your hair thrive outside of your regular salon visits.

Kari Applegate Paige has been my stylist for nearly 3 years now. She always knows what to do with my wacky hair! From cuts, to dyes, to balayage, to styling, Paige is the best!

Madie VB I have a very difficult hair to deal with, which is coarse and naturally looks very messy. I have had many hairdressers but none of them produced results that pleased me 100% until I found Mary. She has done a fabulous job on my hair, not only on haircuts but on coloring as well. If you lost your hopes of finding a hairdresser that can make a miracle on your hair, give Mary a chance to show you what she can do for your hair. I highly recommend Mary and give her two thumbs up.

R. Kesselring Dave does an amazing job every time. An LGBT+ friendly salon. Theyll treat you like any other guest, respect your pronouns, and cut your hair exactly how you want. Super friendly experience but pricey ($60 per haircut). Well worth it in my opinion!

Ashley Best first hair color experience ever! I’ve never gotten my hair colored and was beyond nervous to go. They were able to squeeze me in the same day I called because of a cancellation. Dean was phenomenal! My hair looked awful from previous haircuts I’ve done on myself but Dean was able to work his magic. I’ve always been afraid to dye my hair because I don’t want to damage it but my hair still feels great! Such kind and experienced hairdressers.

Sydney Shear Ive been getting my hair dyed by Vanessa for over a year now after trying many other stylists/ salons in the area (theres so many its overwhelming) and after the first appointment with her i knew i could stop looking for a consistent specialist! She has years of experience and it truly shows both in her talent and abilities, and in her customer service. She is incredibly kind and warm and i enjoy seeing her so much that i often come in for blowouts between dye sessions to catch up and be silly with her. Susan Pacheco I’ve been a client of Jordy’s for years and have always been pleased with my hair when I walk out the door. She really listens to the concerns I have about color, cut or my “antique blondes “ that pop out. Bernita DAmbrosio Deciding to go grey was a big one for me. Future medical procedures prompted this decision. I did not want to look like a skunk. Jordy listen to my concerns and together we decided to lightening my hair in two steps 8 weeks apart. This gave me the time to get use to the partial change. Which I loved. Whitney Malzhan I was hesitant to schedule my toddler for his first haircut, but my friend posted an "after" photo of her son on Facebook, and I figured if she trusted Mint Salon and Spa with her sons hair, I could too. Savannah has now given my little guy two haircuts and she is great! She is quick, but also patient, and my only complaint is that my little man looks so much more grown up afterwards! The salon is tucked away a bit from Broad Street, but its in the same parking lot as Black Horse (bonus!).

Jackie Leopold Taylor did such a good job on my little 2.5 year olds hair! It was her first cut so I was a little nervous ablit how it would go, but Taylor was so sweet and really quick..so it was a total breeze. Not to mention, its a beautiful salon in a great location..right next to a great coffee shop with ample parking and a really nice little patio in back along a creek. Will be back for sure and recommend for the kiddos, too!

Palomino I have long fine hair and was in need of a trim. Typically even though I tell people to cut 1 inch off they cut much more. Allison trimmed my hair into perfect even length and hardly took any length off to do it. I was told one side of my hair would never match up but she had no problem. Love love love her beautiful environment and cannot wait to visit again. I love the products she uses as well. Highly recommend! And facials will be coming soon OMG!

Haylee Koontz Alison is amazing! Has seriously helped me with my extensions. I first got my extensions in Hawaii and had an awful experience, I was given false advice that steered me in the wrong direction. When I went to Alison she completely changed my experience she switched out my waterfall extensions with the skinny Weft method. Have been going to her for the last 7 months and would not go anywhere else!

Kirsten Rambo I have super challenging hair (very fine but tons of it, not straight or curly, just enough wave to make things tricky) and Alison is somehow magically able to manage both the cut and color so that it actually looks good. Also if youre a person who doesnt want to spend all your time doing your hair, she has a million tips and tricks to make it work, which is one of the main things I love about her. Shes also super chill and laid back and easy to work with. Thanks Alison for working your magic on my hair!

Kelly Martin I have been trusting my hair with Alison for over 15 yrs. I tend to go too long between appointments. However the way Alison cuts my hair and highlights it with the balayage technique it just grows out beautifully and naturally. I am completely sold on balayage. My hair is dark blonde with a bit of gray but adding the subtle highlights brightens my hair up in such a natural way that I always wonder why I wait so long between appointments. I absolutely love the color of my hair when she’s done. If you want to see someone who really knows hair and the balayage technique then absolutely book with Alison.
