Teresa Mills Another fine experience at Adventist Health Sonora. They must be doing something right for every employee to be so nice and professional. Dr. Schultz is so very exact on every aspect of his exam and puts out the referrals immediately to get the answers. This year marks ten years since I started seeing him and he gets better and better! I never remember to get pics while I’m there, so here are some old photos instead!

Joann Nemmer My nurse practitioner was very thorough with my follow-up. We reviewed my progress and agreed on continued monitoring of my diabetes. Also discussed my medications, and as needed refills.

Joe Skaff Every time I need to come to Adult Healthcare, Im greeted by name with a very kind receptionist. The nurse who gave me an injection was just perfect. I was in and out in no time.

Barbara Sheatsley First time for this test and I was super nervous. EVERYONE was so kind and made me feel at ease, especially Scott and Sally. I’m missing the names for the young lady that prepped me for the treadmill shot and the cardiologist but they also took good care of me. THANK YOU ALL for your kindness and concern for me.

Dawn Romani Outpatient GI procedures. Everyone treated me great and had good bedside manners. Patiently answered my questions and concerns and I did not feel they were in a rush to get to the next patient. My results were shared before I left, and pictures were included in my paperwork. I would recommend and not hesitate to have them treat me in future.

Paulina Sanfilippo Needed to visit ER with swollen neck glands. Got there in the early evening. Check in was really fast. Waited a long time for triage. Had great ER Doctor Wang. Nurses were wonderful. Was able to get answers and treatment but took a very long time. All good.

Julee Konshoj After moving to Gold Country this past Fall, this was my first visit to Adventist Health Sonora. All in all, I was pleased with the care I received in the ER. It was an unusually busy evening (according to the nurses) so I waited for quite a while before being seen since my condition wasnt as acute as others. However, I was suffering from sever Sciatica and was in quite a bit of pain. With the long wait, it was miserable. It would have been helpful if they could have given me a pain med. just to help take the edge off while I was waiting. Eventually I was treated. They took a couple of X-rays just to be safe since this was my first episode with the condition. The staff in the ER were wonderful. Very professional yet easy going, friendly and really did a great job to make me feel better. I greatly appreciated their diligence and care in checking my wristband before they took any labs or treatment, making sure they were treating the right person with the right procedure. The ER Doc carefully listened to my explanations and was fairly quick at setting out a plan to not only give me immediate relief but to help alleviate the problem over the next few days. The hospital, equipment and rooms were all clean and well maintained. Adventist Health Sonora will be our go to hospital and I look forward to finding a Primary Care Physician within their network.

Maureen Graham The ER was very busy as usual, but the nursing staff and doctors were really nice. My husband was in crisis and it turned out he was having a stroke. They admitted him and thats where it kind of went downhill. The nurses are nice and friendly. My husband was there for 5 days. Since this was his 2nd stroke I told every nurse I saw that the first stroke affected his memory and to direct questions to me either in person or by phone. I received 1 phone call during this 5 days and that was from his case manager. I never saw or spoke to the doctor. I couldnt be there at 8am when he did rounds. I tried to set up a time to talk to him about all the tests they ran. My husband called and told me they did an MRI and he had had another stroke. When it came time to discharge him no one called and let me know. My husband did, but I wasnt sure if he was correct so I came to talk to the people. The nurse was unsure and I wanted him to stay 1 more night so he could come home and be safe since he was unstable walking. The nurse said sure he could stay another day. I drove the 20 miles back home only to have my husband call and say they were discharging him. Then they werent sure if it was too late to discharge him so I got part way back to the hospital but had to stop and while they figured out what they were doing. By this time it was after 7pm. I have never picked up anyone from that hospital, and my dad was in and out numerous times, after 4pm. Not 1 person reached out to talk to me about my husbands care or to coordinate his discharge. Ever since Adventist health took over they have gone downhill. When it was Sonora Community it was the best place. The only reason my husband was brought there instead of Mark Twain hospital is because Mark twain had no imaging services at that time. I will avoid Adventist health at all times if possible

Amanda Juarez Edit. Just called again since my son is still sick, what the hell is the point in having a primary care doctor if they never have availability? This is ridiculous. Love Dr.Conte, but a big part of the reason I switched from Dr.Sullivan of forest road is because they never had any openings for when my son was sick. It was always a week to two weeks later. I looked around quite a bit for a new doctor that had same day appointments available and now I’m having the same issue at both of Conte’s locations. I can never get my kids in when they’re sick. Just well checks and immunizations. I know they’re busy and there’s a lot of people in our area, but maybe have a few more walk in spots available so a sick child can actually see a doctor that knows them. Not a prompt care doctor that will just say it’s a virus and send them on their way, with nothing but, come back if they get worse. When I was checking in my son one of the last times I was there you can see right on the wall that they have certain times for same day/walk-in appointments but they never have any available. So here I am heading to another 3 hour wait at prompt care where he’ll likely catch something else and make me miss work and him miss day care even longer.

dave hartzell Doctor assigned to me is never there. They are not concerned about my needs. They just keep trying different medications hoping that one will work instead of performing tests ie blood work. When a medication runs out, takes an act of God to get a refill (because....guess again, doctor is never there). I recommend patients looking for new doctors to look elsewhere.

Geo Douglas The physicians seem to be knowledgeable and effective. However, the front desk personnel are borderline negligent in any effective capacity. Case in point: I went to them when I injured by knee. The lady behind the desk said they would call me to set up an appointment within two months. I specifically told them that I was injured and in substantial pain. She responded that she would do the best she could. Not very encouraging. Three months later, I called to see when I could come in. I was told that they tried to call me two months ago and no one answered. So, I was dropped. I was able to make an appointment at that time for two months later. Five months after the injury, the pain was so unbearable, I went to the Regional Hospital for emergency treatment which was comprehensive and effective. 16 months after my injury, I finally got the treatment I needed to correct my injury. Ive been to this clinic about 10 times during the last 18 months and about half of the time Im sent home without seeing a doctor. Some times my appointment has been cancelled, or the doctor is not in, or they dont have the proper paperwork, or...

Kathryn Brickley I turned in my new patient paperwork over a month ago. I have been in the ER twice and called them both times to find out status only to be told that they are waiting for the manager to get off the phone to see who they will put me with. Was told I would receive a call back (I have called everyday for the last 2 weeks since my last ER visit) which never happens and then when I call again I get the run around, my phone number and name taken again, talked down to and then hung up on. I have gotten to the point that today I called and asked to speak with the director and the receptionist laughed at me , took my number, told me “good luck” and hung Up! Horrible customer service!

Mel J Hey guys just wanted to bring attention to what happened in the hospital yesterday. It was quarantined because some guy collapsed to the floor after bleeding out of his mouth and such, something like that. Please bring honesty and awareness to the community about the situation once investigations are finished.

Brianna Gallagher I was seen and treated here, I was so impressed by the entire staff. First of all, thank you to my amazing nurses, the front desk, the lab and x-ray techs, and Dr. Pingree! I showed up in bad shape, without insurance, and was treated with courtesy and respect. I was triaged immediately due to a life-threatening anaphylactic reaction and shortness of breath. The nurse who treated me was kind and attentive, and the staff was still at work despite many having been evacuated from their homes or unable to go to their homes due to the snow storms. I am so appreciative of you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your care and guidance in financially navigating the aftermath of my ER visit.

Casey Headrick My family and I have been to this ER three times within the past 2 years and the service and care have exceeded our expectations every time. They were so friendly and personable, especially to my toddler. They listened to us and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. By far the best Emergency department Ive been acquainted with! If it was socially acceptable to stop in to the ER just to say hi, I would.

Sharon Barker This clinic is pretty good. It has gone downhill since being taken over by Adventist Health, but I still will give high rating for the Doctors and office staff. They provide the best treatments they can within the corporate bureaucratic milieu. They offer consistent and compassionate care to people who wouldnt have any options in Tuolumne County. It is hard to find anyone that accepts Medi-Cal with the mountains of red tape required in this Brave New World".

Genessa Christian What a joke Dr RETHERFORD needs to stick to primary care instead of using his patients as lab rats! He needs to remember His Hippocratic oath the most important one “DO NO HARM”! I had a friend you wanted to get clean and was going to see Dr. Retherford. Well he had a few relapses and this guy cut him loose. Needless to say the friend almost died and is struggling to say the least! Dr. RETHERFORD is a joke and uneducated in the field of MAT( maintenance assisted treatment.) Please if you have a loved one wanting help go anywhere but here. His policies for relapse are ridiculous. They are made to suit him and his so called success rate. He does not understand the disease of addiction. If he did he would face these problems head on, instead of just writing people off! Remember these are desperate people reaching their weary hands out for help.

Eve Kelly Horrible place with horrible service. Nice Dr, terrible policies. I went in for a pap smear. After the pap they were concerned with results and wanted a follow up but the only opening they had was months out. I was concerned about cervical cancer but waited. Days before my appointment I got a voicemail saying there were inconsistencies with my insurance so theyd canceled my appointment. I called immediately and they told me there were issues with my coverage. I told them Id fix it but they said the appointment was already canceled and it would be yet another month. I fixed my insurance and days before my next appointment they canceled that one too!! Apparently they hadnt registered my insurance fix, but without a chance they just canceled it! At this point, I was so distressed and scared, and crying on the phone with the the receptionist. All she had to tell me was that it wasnt her fault, rudely. I called tuolumne me-wuk health center and got an appointment within the week. The people there are really caring and professional and Im so relieved theres one decent place to go in town.

Angie Laughlin Wow, the negatives I read really blow my mind. I have never had those experiences! I must have been seeing Salas over 15 yrs now. She is the most experienced & knowledgeable doctor I have ever met. She has guided and solved tons of mysteries with my very complicated body and lots of painful diseases. I have Fibromyalgia, Scoliosis, Neuropathy, CRPS, plus many many more. She has given me tons of demonstrations of movement ans stretches for many painful situations..Lots of healthy alternative supplements and things to do for issues. I got meds also when needed. I referred many friends to here who adore her. I am sorry for anyone who had a bad experience with Salas. All I can say is, perhaps there was a miscommunication or confusion that occurred. Some of your complaints sounded like a staff problem. That is not her. The hospital gives her the staff. She does not hire them. She does get many trainees. I have been upset with some of them also. Just never Salas. I wish those of you better luck. I am most grateful for Salas in my life.

Michael Anderson Dr. Salas is discriminatory and unethical in her practice. She requires a list of medications prior to accepting you into her practice and will deny medical care to patients based on her preference towards any prescribed and legally obtained medications that you may be taking. She does all of this without so much as speaking to you or trying to understand your unique health needs. At this practice you are reduced to a set of symptoms and a list of medications and not treated as a human with unique and individual needs.

Deanna Taaffe I highly recommend her. All good experiences.

Twisted Tea The worst experience ever, its horrible. So unorganized, no communication. I honestly dont know how that office is open honestly. Dr Salas and her staff made so many mistakes on my disability papers and I feel she wrote on them what she wanted not what was actually going on made up stuff, and after almost 4 months of seeing this lady they call me and tell me they cant see me because of my insurance all of a sudden. Well maybe the front desk when they took my insurance cards should have did there job in the first place. This place is a joke.

Kim Cruson Agree with the person who said she will drop you if you disagree with her. She is not open to discussion. The moment I started to advocate for myself, she sent me a letter saying I was no longer her patient. Thankfully I immediately found a doctor ten times her consequence. Avoid this doctor.

Bruce Lodge The operations and policies of this clinic are poor at best. Dr. Lo however is really good. Ive listed her as my Primary Care Physician since 2013. When she left her previous practice in 2015 (+/-) I followed Dr. Lo to this provider clinic. None of this history matters to those running this program. Today I was told that I was now considered a "new patient", that Dr. Lo was not accepting any "new patients" and I would therefore be scheduled to see their new PA. It was explained to me that I had not seen Dr Lo since 2016, therefore I had lost my "current patient" status. It was never explained to me prior that in order to maintain active status I would need to see her at least once a year. The reason I have not seen Dr Lo is because Ive been healthy enough over the years to not need her care for any significant or chronic health conditions. My only needs for a doctor have been relatively minor emergent conditions that warranted immedite care. When Ive called for an appointment (at least 6 times over the last 3 years) Ive been told every time that it would be 7 - 10 days before they could take me. Which, in the case of one-off illnesses, minor sports or work injuries etc does me no good. So I would go to the local Adventist system prompt care and be seen within an hour or two. So... in order to maintain ones "current patient" status you need to see their doctor at least a couple times a year, but they will make it next to impossible to get you an appointment within a time frame that will actually benefit the condition you need to see a doctor for. If you are chronically unhealthy and need to been seen regularly, your good. If you are really healthy and rarely need to see a doctor, they may toss you at their first opportunity. It appears they are trying to build the patient load of thier new Assistant or PA or whatever he his. If youre cool with something less than a real Doctor, go for it. Otherwise, good luck seeing a real Dr. through this provider.

T C My primary NP is Deborah G., so this is not my first time receiving treatment at this location. I was experiencing vertigo with an elevated blood pressure. I went to urgent care and the ER without finding out the problem. On Monday, May 23, 2022 I went to Me Wuk in Tuolumne. I saw NP Deborah, she checked my ears, somfething they did not do at the ER visit. She recommended high blood pressure medication, and having other area checked out. Last was my prescription for my ear infection. As of Tuesday still charting my chart. I didnt get my prescription called in until Wednesday, 2 days later for an ear infection. I was not pleased with how long this took.

Stacia Erckenbrack I’m hoping that they improve their emergency response. I know they help a lot of people in their counseling sessions, but when it comes to triaging people that are a danger to themselves and others, they let them walk even after the doctor the sheriff and everybody family is screaming at them, even after somebody attempts to kill them self literally Cutting their wrist they will let them walk only an hour and a half after their stitched up. Truth(both wrists): No oversight. They are in charge of theirselves. Horrible and dangerous waste of time and money even having them come in to triage the patient

Nyah If you ever see anyone there make sure it’s not Sarah. She showed up to my house 3-4 hours after my appointment And would not leave until the police were called. She started saying that I was unsafe and tried to convince my parents that I was trying to end my life when I didn’t even know her and didn’t speak to anyone about ending my life. (the appointment was to meet a new therapist ). Genuinely a scary experience and I’m thankful it’s all recorded. They have not taken any action against her. Don’t go there unless you want unwanted visitors showing up at 10 pm.

drea cooper Worst Mental Health Care Ever. If you dont have appointments with them (even if your not told to schedule and appointment) they will refuse to fill your prescriptions (with zero regard for how that affects your mental health) and blame you for the issue. Not only that they expect you to reestablish as a Client in order to prove your are eligible for services. During services not one person listened to my opinion or seems to care about your meds or diagnosis. The mental health program is a joke here, dont waste your time.

Ash Long I was assigned a case manager after I tried to unalive myself. I called 2 times and left her messages, didnt get a call back. Then 6 months later she left me a voice mail saying she didnt think I needed services and she was closing my case. She didnt speak to me directly at all. Thanks a lot for literally nothing.

C If youre on the mental health diversion program do not open up to these people tell them what they want to hear because they will condemn you no matter what so my advice is to the new people that are doing mental health diversion dont open up about your life because theyll use it against you and keep you in the system tell them what they want to hear so you can move on and do better with your life because theyre not bettering anybodys life but hindering it along with this county literally I was just passing through Thursday lost everything here in tuolumne county and Ive been stranded here 3 years doing their program struggling whenever Im a transmit that makes more than five dollars an hour because of this county health
