B Collier Beautiful peaceful various walking tracks from easy to harder. We visited mid week so was quiet. What is left of old homestead is gated off cant get up close to see but area is lovely.

John Chan Chose this last minute as the picnic location for Christmas day with the family instead of Jells Park and it did not disappoint. The GOOD: There was an ample amount of trees (of different species) for coverage from the sun. The day was extremely warm (33+) so this made the day a lot more enjoyable. There were restrooms onsite, however personally did not use it. Looks like a great place for a hike on the ideal day. The NOT SO GOOD: Quite a long route to get to the actual picnic grounds, but if you drive slowly and carefully, its worth it. If you want a place to enjoy with your significant other, family or friends, I would definitely recommend this place for a picnic.

Cam Closing times vary so be careful not to get locked in. Nice view at the top and a chilled place overall.

Cheong K Its a great place to visit for walks around the Dandenong ranges—so many walks to choose from. The tricky bit is getting to this location is along a one-car trail, and if another car is coming down while you are driving up - you will need to go slow or stop at the side. There is a bit car park at the end of the location, so, persevere and go right to the end. There is a toilet situated next to the car park. The walks are along a shady path with plenty of trees and ferns. There are some parts that go up-hill. I have seen some people cycling along the path but you will need a mountain bike. I highly recommend this place as it is simply beautiful.

Numbat Echuca We enjoyed a scenic drive to Doongalla Historic Picnic ground. The scent of the ferns and bush floated into the car on the way up to the picnic ground. The road is well maintained gravel road. Please allow for traffic going up and down the track. Once at the picnic ground we enjoyed a picnic lunch under the shade of the mature trees. Which were left over from the old homestead. We enjoyed walking on the Lawrence track, listening to the local wildlife and taking in the peace and serenity of the Dandenong Doongalla Nature Reserve. I recommend visiting this place, as its off the beaten track, not crowded and a relaxing place to visit on the weekend.

Afsaneh Gh Wicks Reserve connected to Wicks East Nature Reserve, Pavitt Lane and Liverpool Road Retarding Basin, is a hidden gem in The Basin, offering a peaceful bushland setting with rich birdlife and diverse flora. The reserve features picnic shelters, barbecues, a playground, and clean facilities, making it a great spot for a family gathering, especially in the summer. Though dogs need to remain on a lead, the walking trails are perfect for a leisurely stroll, and the surrounding nature reserve adds to the charm with its beautiful wet heathland and grassy forest. Keep an eye out for the rare Swordgrass Brown butterfly and some of Knoxs most threatened plant species. The car park is conveniently located near the BBQ area, and theres a water station to keep both you and your dog hydrated. Just be prepared for a few mosquitoes in Spring and summer!

Rob Solic A terrific little reserve, with a couple of short tracks going off in different directions. Our purpose for the visit was to photograph birds, and while we saw and heard quite a few, I was happy to have found and photographed Brown Tree Frogs for the first time.

Andrew Rowe Can be a bit tricky finding the entry, but for a quick dog walk on a cool overcast day still plenty of people, but quieter than other walking places nearby. BQQ shelter and toilet (of course)

Mei Yew Lovely, shady! The bushwalking club I am member of took the 28 of us up to the Dandenongs from here! What a lively sweaty exercise we got to have! Stretching the old muscles in relaxing ways like this in the environment filled with oxygen and fresh air!! Thank you Melbourne for maintaining this paradise to live in! A coffee van was even ordered to the site to reward us for our hard work!!
