Paige Aufderheide I had my baby boy at this hospital and I loved it. I was originally on Tricare Prime and hated the hassle caused by other doctors in Oceanside. I finally switched to Tricare Standard and I now go through the hospital for almost everything. Everything is in one place, and the doctors, nurses, and corpsman are all very friendly. I really lucked out with a good doctor who helped me deliver my beautiful little baby. Its a newer hospital so everything is very easy to find and very nice and clean. I understand not wanting to use military medicine for everything, but this happens to be a very good facility.

Serjio Gonzales This is truly an amazing hospital. The structure, curb appeal, parking, services, etc. Great location compared to the older naval hospital; which was more centrally located, but this one is near the freeway and new PX (think huge Wal-Mart, the largest in the Marine Corps from what I understand). The pharmacy is huge, and has several windows to tend to its customers, but its always extremely busy. Theres plenty of seating, restrooms nearby, a new mini shoppette, a dining hall, a location to drop old expired medication, both stairs and elevators to each floor, plenty of handicap parking, and so much more. Its got everything! Those who live on base, or have authorization to use its services should feel fortunate.

Akira BelléRose Clean, not hard to find parking. The ER wasn’t much of a wait both times I went. Got sent home with two pages of phone numbers and told it wasn’t a therapy office by rude doctors, had to explain my situation about 4 different times to 4 different doctors. Pretty disappointed and ended up back in there for the same exact reason I went. Bet they take things more seriously now.

Alexandra Tobiasiewicz NEVER. GO. HERE FOR PAIN. I was given a sedative. Unable to move in a dark room alone after the lights turned off for an HOUR and I was terrified after being scolded and lectured by different doctors/nurses. No one cared about my pain. Medical gaslighting at its finest. Even the advocates told me to toughen up. Humiliation. I was screaming in Polish in pain and they found it threatening. I was BEGGING sorry sorry. Didn’t help. Making a formal complaint at this hospital once I am physically able to. I cannot let this happen to others as I had to end up going to an ER over an hour away for help. VERBAL threats. “Why don’t you want to get treated here?” Don’t take everything a person in the most excruciating pain of their life says seriously, ESPECIALLY AFTER BEING ASSAULTED WITH AN IRON. Not everything is mental hurt. I physically was beat and no one did anything for my SEVERE nerve pain but regular medicine. I have forever trauma and fear now from these doctors/nurses/all staff. Nothing will ever make it right and I’m afraid of my life now ever getting sick or hurt. If you guys didn’t want to treat my pain, why didn’t you say so in the first place? Forget about being discharged with no ride ready. Being dumped outside the er in a 12/10 pain. Disgusting and forever have anxiety now. Welcome to Camp Pendleton. My first hospital experience on the west coast. How could you possibly diagnose someone but not treat the pain? I will never get my dignity back from then. Let me tell you something. I am 18 years old. Not a junkie. Newly married. Newly moved. I never want to see any of their faces again from the er but I know to make this right I have to tell others. Be careful and best bet you can handle your pain silently or they’ll try to manipulate you to answer questions so your thrown in the psych ward instead.

Lisa T My daughter is in severe pain because she has a cyst on her jaw, she was told that there could be nothing done about it, but it’s starting to get infected and they’ve turned her away twice. I’m starting to get very pissed off and if she ends up getting staph or meningitis, they’re gonna have a lawsuit on their hands. Enough is enough. It has been four days of constant pain for her. I’m super disappointed in the way they are treating her.

Connie Tovar This doctor questioned my integrity, and health history. Gaslighted me to nth degree and left me leaving the office questioning my entire existence. She showed no concern at all as to why I was there. Pushed birth control on to me and was more concerned about my mental health than my physical health. She asked me if there was any other questions or concerns and I mentioned gastrointestinal concerns and she dismissed me and said we went 10 min past my appointment and she would do a telemedicine appointment answering any concerns I may have. I will be scheduling another appointment with a different doctor as this doctor Katherine Siroky had no interest in me or my health concerns.

Michael Tejeda I had an excellent experience with Dr. Siroky at Scripps Health. She is a knowledgeable and compassionate doctor who truly takes the time to listen and address concerns. Her professionalism and expertise made me feel comfortable and confident in my care. The staff was also courteous and efficient, making the entire visit smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Dr. Siroky to anyone looking for a dedicated and thorough physician.

Myles Nottingham Really regret going here. While the prodedure went great I had no support afterwards. My doc is gone next week and I need to see someone. Instead of having backup coverage or even another local doc to recommend their solution for me is to just go to the ER. Pretty disappointed. This isn’t a bad review for the doctor directly, it is for the way they manage this office.

Rich Reagan Dr. Phillips was great and seemed extremely knowledgeable of how best to react to my condition and how to alleviate the issue in the future. The TERRIBLE part came when trying to perform a follow-up test. I was told that a Physicians Assistant would contact me with steps that needed to be performed for testing prior to a follow-up phone call. Well, I never heard from anyone, so I phoned and was told that someone would be in touch. I tried again a day or so after, but again never got called. I then phoned again and was once more told that a Physicians Assistant would contact me. Nope, never happened. With the date of the follow-up call with the doctor coming, I phoned the front desk to cancel it since I did not wish to be charged for a consultation over nothing. While chatting with Sam (who was a delight), I explained that I needed to cancel my appointment since no one had contacted me. Sam apologized, cancelled the meeting and asked me if I would like her to assist in getting my testing in place. I said that if Sam believed that this FOURTH ATTEMPT to make it happen would ACTUALLY MAKE IT HAPPEN, then great! While I was on hold, Sam then spoke to the Physicians Assistant and I was assured that everything was in place and I would hear back soon about next steps. Well, its now been TWO WEEKS since that last attempt with no word, so I am left without a medical test a doctor believed I needed and ZERO desire to try once again to phone in to try and receive a response. Once again, Dr. Phillips was terrific during my first visit and seems like a great doctor, but I cannot support an office that is so unresponsive when it comes to medical care and cannot recommend anyone suffer this kind of aggravation as a part of addressing their medical issues.

RICHARD F GRIJALVA Dr.Phillips has been treating me for several years now. Every visit has always been on time, the staff has been professional and courteous. I have always felt that Dr. Phillips takes the time to listen to my questions. He explains everything clearly & professionally. I have always found that he will thoroughly explain all treatment & options available. Dr Phillips is a friendly, caring physician that will make you feel confident that he cares for you and your health issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Phillips, he is an outstanding urologist. Deborah Stevenson I went to seek treatment for the older womans problem of peeing too often. I decided to try botox after pills did not help. I had boto x injections and before going home the Dr. Gave me sample pills to take. (New medicine on the market?) After taking those pills I could not urinate at all. 24 hours later I had to go to the hospital. I had to have a catheter put in me. It hurt a lot. I had to leave the catheter in over a week. It was VERY unpleasant. I do not know now the future whether I have to bear this awful catheter longer or what. I feel the boto x and pills were way too much. I very very much regret going to this clinic. I wish I had never gone to this clinic. This is an awful experience.

Ari Flores I am absolutely stunned by the lack of professionalism and patient care at this hospital. I visited on 02/11 at 2:45 PM due to extreme shortness of breath and chest pain. They completely forgot to check me in, and I had to go up front myself after realizing I wasn’t on their list, despite the nurses claiming they had checked in everyone. I waited in pain until nearly 6:30 PM for a breathing treatment that I never received. When I expressed my concerns, Nurse Ami Merz responded in the most unprofessional and dismissive manner. She told me, verbatim “The respiratory therapist can’t just leave his other patients and attend to you. If you want to leave, you can we don’t know when he will see you.” The tone was condescending, insulting, and completely inappropriate. After over three hours of struggling to breathe, I was met with nothing but disregard and a complete lack of compassion. If you expect timely care and basic human decency, avoid this hospital and go to urgent care instead. The way they speak to patients is unacceptable, and their disregard for patient well-being is beyond disappointing. The nurses here completely lack basic patient care, speaking negatively about patients and giving attitude when addressing concerns. It’s clear that this facility desperately needs more patient care training because the way they treat people is unacceptable.

Lisa Pacheco We entered the hospital through the emergency based on a massive stroke that my dad had experienced. From the moment we arrived through the couple of days that we needed to be there for his comfort care each, and every staff and faculty member were amazing! They took time to listen and offer Advisement based on the process and just were above the charts awesome. They were there to help us through and did their jobs very well. So thankful.

Kay Park Their ER staff is amazing. This is my third time having to come in (unfortunately). Once when my son was 3 and another today as a 5yo. The other for myself when I found out I had post-partum complications. All three times we were seen quickly! Everyone is knowledgeable, so nice, and had great bed-side manner. Special shout out to their respiratory guy (don’t know his name), doctors and all the nurses who were so quick and helpful.

Only issue I had was a roommate! Had to ask to be moved twice second time was was reading to leave if they didn’t change the my room! You should really look into rooms by themselves not with others!

Elliott Goodreaux Was admitted to ER on the 6th for abdominal pain. It ended up being acute appendicitis. I had surgery and was discharge two days later. Before going in I read all the bad reviews and got a little nervous about choosing this ER. I can tell you from just having been there on the 6th of March, the whole team, from the Janitor to the ER Doctor that found out I had appendicitis, Everyone was great, caring, smart, committed, and cared what happened and how I was feeling. The admin that did all my paperwork, the various lab techs, and phlebotomists, and physician assistants, ER techs, MRI Techs, Ultrasound Person, everyone. As I was taken to the Med Surge floor I Met a great Anesthesiologist, and my wonderful Surgeon Doctor Wakily, who we so caring and understanding of my fear. Late after Surgery on the Post Op floor, I was blessed by so many wonderful people helping me recover so I could go home. It was scary as hell for me but I found compassionate personal care from all the staff, again, from the three ladies i saw rotate through cleaning and dumping trash all the way up to the wonderful Surgeon who checked on me each day to so how I was recovering and the host or RNs and Nurse aides, all of whom helped me feel less afraid, and more hopeful. Thank you!

Abdul Sultani When visiting this clinic, I would caution others about MICHELLE, a blonde nurse. I had a concerning experience when I brought my nephew for a checkup. While taking his pulse oximetry, my nephew was crying and moving his leg, which is understandable for an infant. However, the nurse became frustrated and handled his foot aggressively, which nearly caused him harm. I strongly encourage the clinic to address this issue to ensure better care for all children.

Briana Aiello I would rate this facility zero stars if possible. Weve attempted to visit on multiple occasions, but each time we were told they were "full" for the day. It seems they only see a limited number of patients daily, and once that limit is reached, they stop accepting new patients. This makes it more of a regular doctors office than an urgent care facility. The receptionist asked if we had an appointment, and when I replied "no," we were turned away. Meanwhile, my child was in tears, and the clinic was still "open," but not seeing any walk in patients. I have never had to have an appointment for an urgent in my life. There was no one in the waiting room either. I am extremely disappointed that a childrens specialist would operate in such a manner.

Sylvia Mcmanus I am extremely disappointed in Virginia Chambers, who was assigned to see me for counseling. I intended to have this be my final visit. At the baseline visit, she scolded me for not showing up to previous appointments even though it had been several years with the prior team, and I had no issues with them. She called the crisis unit on the 2nd visit misunderstanding. My suicidal thoughts had to do with intense migraine pain I was experiencing and not actual planning. I was able to get resources and had to book several follow-up visits with her. At our 3rd visit, we spent 5 minutes where she scolded me for emailing her 1 time over a referral question. She said she had a patient every 30 minutes and didnt have time to answer emails that were not urgent. She said I would have to cometh the office to speak to her directly, I was unaware that was her preferred method. I finally spoke up and said I would prefer to end our sessions now and in the future because I felt she was abrasive. She said many people felt that way, and it was okay. I asked the name of her supervisor, and she said to call the 760 number and go ahead and waived her hand up. She walked me out and said goodbye, leaving me standing alone in the lobby. The 2 receptionist heard me ask for her supervisors name and offered a form to document the occurrence. I will be filing a grievance with my insurance. She should not work in a field where she does not show empathy or understanding. She said she was not responsible for my crisis even though we spent 5 minutes together, and I barely spoke, I felt her bedside manner was completely out of line. I spent 30 years in healthcare working with doctors and patients. This type of behavior is meant to undermine and shame a patient if she did not want me as a patient , I would gladly see so.eone else.

Rahila Athanikar This center has no concern for patients. Today they had a staff meeting and had a notice on front door saying closed from 8 to 9:20. They did not bother to call/inform patients. There was a line of people waiting outside in the rain and cold and that included a geriatric person in a wheelchair. Would have been kinder to keep the front door open to have people come in and seat themselves.

Verenice Lagunas I’ve already spoken to the supervisor on duty but after he “fixed my issue” I still waited an additional hour in a waiting room and my appointment took an hour which consisted in the doctor saying she’ll be right back 6 total times. She saw my son a total of 10 minutes in which they gave him Genexa at 3 months old. My 15 min appointment for an “ after ER visit “ took 3 hours and a 45 min drive there and 45 min drive back. They aren’t worth it since dr Calhoun is always busy. I’ve been loyal since before when they were NCHS but enough is enough. My 3 month old was screaming in the lobby, bright red and with a 100 degree fever. They ignored us and talked about their weekend plans on a Wednesday and shopping at the swap meet for an ugly brown flannel jacket from mervyns. I got there 35 minutes before my appointment. I get that’s early but I checked in and no one else was in the lobby. The girls said it wasn’t busy. One of their friends checked in at 1:15 saying that their appointment was at 1 pm and if they can still go since cut off was 15 min. They said yes and this family waited 3 min before being seen. They had the same appointment time and at this point I had been there 45 minutes. I ended up walking out after waiting another 20 minutes and because the girls disappeared from the front desk, I couldn’t ask how much longer nor wait 10 minutes after leaving they asked if I was still there and I told them what happened and they transferred me to the supervisor after 5 attempts and call teamsters and he said the medical assistant didn’t know what she was doing. I let him know I was on my way to the ER and he asked me to come back and they would take me right away and promised I would been seen as soon as we got there. When I came back none of the front desk girls wanted to help me they needed to get a back office girl to help me. She offered us water and sat us in a room but she seemed peeved. I was happy to finally be in the back but the additional 1 hour wait time in the room was ridiculous.

Darcie Alissa Ecker My daughter is a patient at this practice. I called them today and told them my daughter has pink eye and that it is going around to several other students in her class. They told me I had to come in for an appointment the following day to confirm. Having worked in a pediatricians office for over 10 years, this is a practice that just wants to make a quick buck. The doctor Ive worked for would just call something in for patients who called in with pink eye, as to not make kids suffer with it. Shame on you.

bri bri Receptionist’s and nurses are great, but it takes forever to been seen with a doctor. Waited over 30 min to be seen with a doctor on a slow day! My daughter was so fussy by the time she had to get her shots. Also I do not like the way our doctor has been criticizing how I feed my daughter. Says I need to completely avoid puree foods on the shelf (when she was 6 months) and told me that I’m giving my 11 month old way to much formula even though I’m feeding her 16-20 oz a day?? She only wants me feeding her 8oz a day when I read that 16-20 was perfectly normal for 11 months.

Sylvia Mcmanus I had a telehealth at 240pm 10/31, and the provider did not show up. I quickly hit the join video call from the text at 220pm and waited until 315 until I called the office and she had left. I know she forgot about me. Its not acceptable since I planned my day around this video call. I was rescheduled for an in person position at Mission. I feel bad for people who reach out to these providers who do not show. Rebecca Montez you should be written up. I worked in healthcare for 30 years and we always gave our patients a 15 minute grace period.

I was nervous at the beginning and I always scared if anything happens with my face. But doctor was so patient and capable to do great. I am impressed that after the stitches were dried my eye brow healed well and no scars like never happen to it before. Thank you.

Jamakinmekrazie This is for Labor and Delivery: I called labor and delivery today so they could refer me to Postpartum for a questions about my newly pregnant wife and twins. Whatever “lady” I spoke to over the phone shamed me for calling by saying “this is an emergency room thing, this is an urgent care, you are talking time away from us delivering babies.” I made sure to tell her I did not want to speak to them but to Postpartum but yet she continued to belittle us. The only reason this is not a one star is because a Doctor from Postpartum was in earshot and personally called us back to assist us with our very minuscule question. And people wonder why so many families talk bad on this Hospital…

Melissa Ruiz-Jackson I had the best doctors and nurses deliver my baby back in April. This was my first pregnancy so I was very nervous and just didn’t know what to expect given how you can’t really plan your labor because anything can happen. Agyei Spencer Worst service for military members it’s always a 4 hour wait regardless of how messed up you are. Theres not enough doctors and they have you wait that long time just to give you Benadryl. I was very sick and was very dehydrated and was going to pass out a few times which didn’t cause them to pay more attention to the severity of all members issues. This is by far the worst service i ever received.

Tara Short Dont bother if you are sick. I saw Dr. Heifetz for many years. It was usually for well checks, but recently I got really sick. I was so sick that I went to the ER. Last time I went to the ER was 13 years ago when I was in heart failure. I had an upper respiratory infection but I was pretty sure I had a sinus infection also at that point and needed antibiotics. I was severely dizzy and feeling terrible. The ER said if I didnt feel better to follow-up with my pcp in a few days. Well, a few days later I called my doctor first thing Friday morning. The front desk tells me they will pass a long the message. Hours go by, and I havent heard anything, so I call again. This time they tell me it can take 3 business days for Dr. Heifetz to get back to me. This shocked me and I even asked "for someone who is sick?" Keep in mind I had already told them how I had just been in the ER and was feeling miserable. I told them I was willing to see anyone and was hoping to see a doctor before the weekend. They basically told me to go to Urgent care, which is what I did and was put on antibiotics for a sinus infection. While at urgent care, I did get a voicemail from Dr. Heifetz that was very dismissive saying how colds can last awhile and basically to just give it time. Keep in mind, she had not seen me or talked to me at this point, and I have had plenty of colds in my life and knew this was something more. This office has no sympathy and no triage capabilities. I was sick for 2 months and tried to reach my pcp, only to be offered an appointment a week out, which is a ridiculous time to wait when you are sick and in pain, so I didnt take it and instead I set up appointments with an ENT, cardiologist, and a family friend doctor on my own. A few weeks later I ended up in the ER again with severe stomach pain and again called Dr. Heifetz office to see if they could get me in sooner. Even the ER nurse had told me to be persistent and make sure they know to see you ASAP. I received a call back the following Monday to let me know that Dr. Heifetz couldnt squeeze me in on Friday ( yes, the Friday that had already passed), and was again told if I was still in pain to go to urgent care. I explained to her that I had already been in the ER and urgent care wouldnt be able to do anything more. The ER had recommended seeing a GI doctor. I tried to schedule it on my own, but they needed a referral from my pcp. I felt so frustrated and helpless at this point. What is the point of having a pcp if they cant see you when you actually have a problem? I have already found a new pcp. I am appalled with this office. I work in Healthcare too, and this is just unacceptable.

Dani Alger Dr Zimmermann is without a doubt the best doctor I have ever had. I was hesitant because it was our first time on an HMO vs PPO. So I had to leave doctors I had been with for 20+ years. I am an asthmatic and Dr. Zimmermann explained things better to me than I had ever learned about my condition for an asthma specialist. He is thorough and takes his time, never felt rushed. His nurse Rosie is also wonderful, always a smile and sweet greeting. I am very particular on cleanliness and aesthetics, the office is not only clean but beautiful with all the most updated decor! Could not be more pleased.

Jp Patterson : Susan D. Heifetz, MD is the worst Primary care MD i have every had. EVERYTIME i go here i get asked 3-4 times about flu shot and COVID shots to the point i had to tell her i dont want any shots, and to stop asking me so multiple times. she consistently talks over me as i am explain stuff, she is ALWAYS LATE and admits to this... i try to go in on my lunch break and my appt visit still takes 2 hours. She prescribed me something that i researched and did not pick up. Had given me wrong advise the entire time i have had her for over a year now. I am now in the process of picking a new provider. I will never be back at her office. What a disgrace to actual health care professionals. This is why men dont go to the DR as much as they should my experience has been tarnished by her unprofessional and at points disrespectful stance towards me.

Lily Martin The nurses where friendly and quick with the needles that as much good stuff to say as I can. I waited way too long with practically nobody checking on me then I got given medicine that didnt work and was told to go home even after I said repeatedly that I was still in pain and didnt want to leave yet. Then the doctor came in to give me an inaccurate diagnosis that even when I told him Ive tested for it and am 100% confident it wasnt that he just shrugged and repeated his diagnosis smugly. The experience didnt help me and made things worse since I wasnt able to rest while in the emergency room I wouldve been better off staying home

Summer Froehlich I brought my daughter to the ER after she had severe stomach pain. She’s six years old and the environment was very frightening to her. There were several small waiting rooms with many very sick patients placed closely together. The floors were dirty and the facility did not look cared for. A very sick woman and her sick baby had been waiting for five hours when I arrived. Over the next 8 hours I bonded with other patients who were equally shocked by the poor conditions, long wait time, and understaffing. The nurses and doctor were not to blame, they were doing their best to keep a faulty machine moving… but the machine is broken. My child threw up all over me on hour number two and I was handed towels, but still forced to sit in uncomfortable chairs with no water and watch as more and more sick or injured people came into the rooms at a rate much faster than anyone was seen leaving. A man cleaning around 1:00 AM laughed and said, “Oh, you guys will be here until 8:00.” That was not helpful. I do not recommend bringing children here. Avoid if possible.

Julie S Last night I had to go to the ER for severe hives all over my body. They took me right in and checked my vitals and gave me an OV to get the situation under control. There are s no ER waiting room because it’s closed for a remodel. Once they assess you they put you in a room with other ER patients and that’s where you get treated, out in the open in front of everyone. There is absolutely NO privacy, you have to sit in these big chairs that of course look like they’ve never been cleaned. I knew what every person in the room had wrong with them, there are severe HIPPA violations. Who ever came up with this way to treat patients should be fired! You can’t even relax because people are watching you the whole time. As we were sitting there 2 guys came in and took all the privacy screens that were between the patients. The staff are very nice and accommodating and I really liked the doctor. This was my first visit to Tri City and the only reason I went is because it’s so close to me and this was a severe emergency. Tri City you need to do a better job with HIPPA and find another way to hold patients in the ER, give them privacy and some kind of comfort, sitting up in a chair for hours is not the way.

Jeska Cabacungan Summary: in and out 12:37pm- 2pm quickest service I’ve ever had here… and I’ve come for various reasons over the years for my entire family. Back story… stepped on glass in our parking lot. I had Birkenstocks on and the 2 inch glass went through it all. My body went into a numbing shock as soon as I pulled out the glass. A friend drove me to the ER. Got checked in at 12:37pm. Triage was very quick they ordered a x-ray for my fetch to make sure there is no class left over in there put an order in for a tetanus shot And asked that someone help clean up my feet with all the blood. I was quickly seen to clean up my feet, so they could be the site of cut. As soon as I was done getting my feet cleaned X-ray technician “Just Jeff” Was there to take me back and take images this happened all within 15 minutes very impressed. I’ve been to Tri-City before in the ER, and normally would take hours along before being seen, acknowledged, Or to get anything done. Seems as though they’ve implemented a faster way helping patience. I completed a few questionnaires, answered a few things from them. Was taken back for a tetanus shot and waiting another 30mins before the RN Melanie looked at my foot again prescribed the antibiotic. Waiting for discharge papers and was out by 2pm exact. Ps Aunty Tuili Polynesian lady was so sweet and got us some water and others. She definitely keeps the spirits high and has a calming patient Ora about her. Thank you Emergency Staff! …. You’ve up’s your game by making those coming in feel taken care of, seen and not feel forgotten.
