5 /5 Edward Caicedo: Im an engineer and BMW enthusiast. I came from Seattle to purchase a 2011 BMW 528i in the Bay Area. Because of my travel schedule, I had to find a competent shop that would inspect the car on a Saturday, with very little advanced notice. One of the local dealers was willing to do it, but it was going to be very expensive, and they would have had to keep the car for about 5 hours, which was too long for me and the seller. I found Rafaels shop through Yelp.
Rafael sacrificed his Saturday morning to come to the shop and meet me and the seller, and was willing to do the inspection at a very reasonable price. We had to pre-pay for the inspection since he was going to meet us on a Saturday. He performed a very detailed inspection (note that for pre-purchase inspections, the seller has to be with him the entire time). The seller and I waited in the shop working on our laptops, and answered questions that Rafael had during the inspection. I think that being there all the time was beneficial to the three of us. As part of the inspection process, he pulled all the error codes from the cars computer, which was important to me. He pointed out all the issues that he saw, and gave me a printed report.
I found Rafael to be "above-average" in terms of attention to detail. I feel lucky to have found Rafael on such short notice. He clearly knows his stuff and is a really nice guy. I would recommend him to anyone looking to have a BMW serviced in the Bay Area.
