5 /5 Shariananda Adamz: In 2007 I moved from the Bay Area to Merced County. I was isolated, single woman with healing gifts, an old time religion and a little smart doggie. By 2012, I had become an active member, been welcomed and embraced by this gentle and diverse community of believers. Unity of Merced is where every service had a different speaker from among the congregation on topics explanatory of the 5 principles, the greatest of which is there is only one power and one presence in the universe,God, the Good, the Omnipotent.. No sin, no hellfire, no wrong path--all paths lead to God. Its a warm, sharing place to worship and to share your own gifts and talents. My dog and I were welcomed and I found my place and good, generous and loving friends. The best part was my being allowed to speak, to pray in open community for our world, families, situations, those in need or needing comfort. I also was allowed to provide a healing service once a month. The church is tech-modern yet cozy. There is a spiritual home waiting for you with friendly people who sing in a circle of light at the end of every service:Let there be peace on earth...and let it begin with me. I am now spreading that message here in Europe and even in the face of terrorist threats, I know and accept the Unity Prayer:The light of God surrounds me,the love of God enfolds me,the power protects me...wherever I am, God is, and all is well. I miss everyone but I am still a part of that community and they a part of me. Shariananda Adamz
