Angela Rogers I had the best experience at this hospital. I was having the worst day possible and I am so thankful to God that I was able to make it through the night. Upon arriving to their ER, they did not allow me the opportunity to sit in the waiting area for 2 seconds before the doctor was their at my side assisting me to the room. The staff was awesome and they made sure that I had everything that I needed and much more. Amanda my nurse on the very night made it very pleasant, family oriented, friendly, professional, relaxing. My nurse tech Joy was great and made my stay peaceful and pleasant. The staff at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that my stay was pleasant. Plus making sure that I got the property care that I needed for the reason of my admit.

Taylor If i could give this hospital a 0 i would. The nurses and techs were super friendly and helpful but as far as the doctors it’s a joke. My grandmother went in on Tuesday night with acute kidney failure and she was severely dehydrated. They gave her an IV in the waiting room and she had some other issues so they admitted her and put her in the hallway for 5 hours before putting her somewhere else. She finally got a room but it was a waiting game. She’s been in there for 5 days now with chronic diarrhea and has yet got any solutions. We’ve only seen a doctor a couple of times. She got a test done and the doctor never came to talk to her or even put in the results. They do not do anything in a timely manner and I feel like she’s being wrote off when she’s been having a problem for 2 months. They just recommended something she’s already tried and doesn’t work and an over the counter medicine. If you think about coming here, you’re better off going to Advent or west Marion because this place is a joke. Every nurse and tech we’ve had have been great and it’s not their fault their bosses are terrible.

Cowboy Mansfield Staff members, Nurses, Nurse Techs, Lab Techs and the Cleaning staff were better than satisfactory. Thought it odd that I never saw a Doctor just a Resident, but I received satisfactory care. Food was good. Only complaint is that the bed was not very comfortable.

andy park Unfortunately, my recent hospitalization required three nights in the hospital. Their organization, attentiveness, professionalism and just plain kindness made my extended stay much more comfortable. While they total number of people are too many to be named, I will say that Tina - the director of nursing who checked in on my three times during my stay - and her team are top notch.

chuck corrao The staff from the time I entered the lobby for my surgery were terrific and made me feel comfortable, answered all my questions and concerns which calmed my nerves. The nurses were supportive of my concerns and added a little humor which relaxed me. I would recommend Ocala Hospital not just for their professional medical experience but also for the total understanding of what a patient was going through. Even at 5am the smiles were nice to see. I had a great experience and Dr. Jones is amazing. Thank you all

Robert Johnson The pediatric on 2nd floor and staff were great... it wasnt until I grabbed lunch with my family at the Subway there and became of victim of racism from the African American woman with a face piercing. If the roles reversed Im sure things would have turned out differently. She needs to be fired immediately.

I asked to speak with the office manager and she did not even let me talk and transferred me to a customer service. Terrible service!!!

charles danforth I managed to get a cyst on my left wrist which I was referred from Tallahassee va to plastic in Gainesville. Drove the three hours to Gainesville just to be told by plastic that I had to have a MRI.two months now, after MRI, waiting another month for neurology. The looks like another two months to get back to plastic for removal. Mr Collins states they are going to get things done in a timely manner. Even for the government six months isnt a timely thing. It seems everyone is just pushing it off on a different department. I use to trust the va for my medical needs, but its seem to gone to the crapper. Elon and Mr Collins need to look at these places with a little more concern.

Ali Muhammad The way that this VA hospital failed to support Jordan Hunkin By holding him against his will for days. They misused the "Baker Act" which directly led to his suicide 6 days after his release according to his best friend! The entire executive staff that allows this to continue to happen needs to be fired and held accountable.

Julio Arango Due to work I missed two phone calls from them, didn’t leave me a message about why they called, I had to call and speak to the operator and gave me the run around and finally found out it was community care trying to reach me for my appointment….but I would have never known cause they didn’t leave any type of messages for me I.e voice mail or email…. This has happened more than once, like the VA HIRES PEOPLE WHO DON’T CARE ABOUT VETERANS. Why work if you don’t wanna do your job and help veterans out. Again this has also happened before in the past, lazy workers. Not hard to leave a message in why you called so the veteran can be informed.

Reda Lawton My self & my husband were both patients of UF Health neurology. For me, it was migraines & the solution was to 1st, place me on Gabapentin. Gabapentin can affect your blood sugar levels & though mine were climbing after being placed on it, it was ignored. I took myself off Gabapentin to get my A1C back under control. The next solution I was given was the highly toxic Botox injections. Yes, they made a difference, but its a toxic substance being injected in over 30 areas around the crown of my head. Now, skipping over to my husbands story, he has been having severe neurological issues for several years & was getting worse. He started seeing UF Health Neurology around 2016. He actually went through 5 of their neurologist over the past several years. They refused to actually diagnose him with MS, even though all the evidence was there, as he cannot have an MRI due to having a pacemaker. Many years of testing & still no treatment for him as they sit back & watch him get to the point he could barely walk. In my frustration, I sought out a new neurologist. The 3rd one we were connected with in the summer of 2024, has saved my husbands life he was not controlled by politics as UF Health is. Thank GOD for Dr. Garewall in Ormond Beach for diagnosing & treating my husband, that has now been diagnosed with CIPD, MS & CMT. He ordered IVIG Infusions for him, which have saved his life. The Gamunex-C my husband is infused with, comes from people donating their blood plasma. Its working! Just 4 infusions in & my husbands life has improved dramatically!!! UF Health will not acknowledge this wonderful therapy & provide it to their patients. Back to me. After the journey of finding someone to treat my husband, I got to wondering "Am I getting the best care from UF Health Neurology?" after they were ready to just let my husband continue down the road to what ultimately would have been his death if he stayed with them. So I sought out a new neurologist as well and was lucky to find one that was willing to treat me with something much less toxic. Emgality is a monoclonal type of medication & it works! Its a lot more natural for your body than the Botox toxin. To all of you reading this post, please keep fighting for treatment that makes sense & refuse to accept there is nothing better that can be done! This clinic failed us and have failed 2 dear friends of ours. Never give up! God bless you all & keep fighting!

Jan Schneider Worth the wait. We were rescheduled twice and it took about 9 mounts to get in but very worth the wait for Parkinson’s. Excellent evaluations by physician, speech, OT and PT. Easy access by car and all services are in the same clean and well kept building.

Whitney D Don’t bother trying to get an appointment they will just keep rescheduling. My mom was referred by her dr almost 2 years ago and they have pushed back her new patient appt 4x. They have “excuses” every time and none are last minute. I work for physicians and know they have their schedules planned out 3-6 months in advance. I’d look elsewhere for care.

Tara Moritz Erin smith has absolutely no bedside manner. During my unfortunate need to have an appointment with her instead of my usual doctor I was treated with sarcasm and zero empathy. I have waited to make this review after delivering my baby just in case I would have the misfortune of having her in the delivery room. She needs to read up on hg pregnancy and have some compassion for women who are suffering daily instead of making jokes.

Alex Smith Its unfortunate to see so many bad reviews. While this facility is a bit overbooked, my wife has had a great experience every time shes been. She started out as a gyn patient for years and more recently has become pregnant and is now an OB patient as well. As of week 24 weve had nothing but a positive experience in every aspect and Ive attended every appointment with her to see for myself. The ultrasound techs are very kind and patient and they explain everything. Weve never had to wait longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room for any of the appointments. Her doctor, Dr. Deen, who we really liked is no longer providing at the office so my wife has been seeing Katie C., one of the midwives. Katie is so kind and understanding. She takes her time and listens to what my wife has to say. My wife has brought forth multiple concerns and Katie has solved each and every one of them with patience. I also appreciate the fact that more recently Katie recommended a prescription for my wife for an infection and described the pros and cons of the medicine. Katie was even able to explain to us the studies behind the medicine and why it had such pros and cons. She also presented alternative options without us even needing to ask. This impressed us a lot and showed us that she is knowledgeable and understanding. We will continue to recommend CWH to our friends and family.

Vivian Could not get them on the phone for the life of me. I had to call 6 times and then leave a voicemail to have my call returned hours later. Just for a simple scheduling they need to take down your insurance information and then they will take 3-5 business days to tell you what your out of pocket expenses will be. They then BEFORE even your first appointment will charge you a large percentage of your deductible. By the time you are 7 months pregnant you will have to pay this office your full deductible. They are not an insurance company and I was very confused as to why they would be taking your money up front before even submitting this to your insurance. I decided to not be seen by them based on very rude front desk customer service and this bizarre policy for scheduling your first appointment. The lady at the front desk told me my voicemail was a little long for her meanwhile you can’t get them on the phone at any time of the day and that is the only way for communication it would seem. Based on the bad recent reviews and my all around first impression of this office, I’m giving them a one star as well.

Sheeds L I had what they consider “An Annual” appointment, but It did not feel like an annual appointment at all! The provider Nicole Mathew came into the appointment unprofessional with a dress on and a hoodie with the hospital name on it. She kept asking me what I came in here for and I told her an annual for you to check me. She asked what test I wanted. I really didn’t know. I’m from out of state and the doctor usually tells me all the test I need. When I asked if she was going to physically check me she said “oh yeah” then proceeds to listen to my heart and my lungs then puts 2 fingers on my stomach and sent me on my way! It was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a provider!

Darlene Sanchez I have had the opportunity to see multiple physicians at this location. All of them have taken the time to listen to my concerns and ordered tests as needed to aid in diagnosing my ailments. Today I was attended by Dr Feller. I am so glad they are located conveniently by my home.

Evelyn Bachar I just moved to the area and my daughter who’s 3 developed a rash that was not going away. I brought her to this hospital and everyone I came into contact were so kind and attentive. Doctor Ashley Rumnock immediately knew what was wrong. After picking up the prescription my daughter felt instant relief. I cannot thank you enough. My daughter was miserable for several days and the staff here and the doctors were absolutely amazing. Thank you for all you do.

James Mills This is the first time I had been back to the hospital for years and I was greeted by two lovely and directed to the sign in counter. At the sign in I got no smile but I did somewhat of a professional mannerism. When I was told to where I was to go one of the nice ladies who greeted me came over to me and asked did I want a wheelchair cause of my leg, considering I had to go across the hospital I gladly said yes. She was very sweet and conversations was a pleasant experience. She dropped me off at the waiting room and shortly after that I was greeted by the X-ray technician she took me into the room to get 3 views of my knee. It seemed like forever since she was having issues of getting what she needed for the doctor. She finally got the x-rays and she gave me to the next tech for a brain scan. In there he was very sweet, kind and professional mannerism. He put a head mechanism on my head gently and he helped me at every step through out the process. Test were taken swiftly and professional by this tech. Thinking of the complete experience it was considered a good time length for the appointment. Thanks Putnam County hospital for helping me.

mike lee I’m born and raised here and always believed it was a good place to die. I took my wife to the emergency room there, and I was shocked how much this hospital has changed. The emergency room staff were kind and accommodating. She went from the ER to a room in less the 90 minutes. The rooms are single bed now. The nurses and our doctor (Mrs Webber) took excellent care of her. The hospital was extra clean and the food was FANTASTIC! Thank you to Tracy and the nurses and staff that made it a good experience. I highly recommend everyone to give HCA Putnam another look. We were treated far better than Flagler.

Paul Leach I must say that my stay at Putnam Hospital was wonderful. The nurses and staff were always there to help and the food was excellent. I stayed in room 167 and the nurses seemed to be able to do whatever they needed to do and whatever I needed to have done. After a 4 1/2 day stay I went home very satisfied with my care. Thanks very much. I just wish I could remember the names of all of the nurses that cared for me so I could thank them individually.

Zhenya Brown The doctors are great but office staff is terrible. Nobody ever gets back to you on anything and they’re extremely rude. I had a medication I can’t be off of and when I realized I had no refills called the on-call physician who refilled it right away. He put a note in the system for the office to call me to make an appointment to get seen and do labs, nobody ever called me back and I was too busy so I forgot. Ran out of the meds again and when I addressed the issue with the front desk after I finally got a hold of them, the receptionist didn’t care that I can’t be off the meds and said I have wait to be seen before they can refill. Really wish I could keep going here to see Dr. Sanders but I don’t have time to deal with the office’s disorganization.

Kelly Freeman My experience was HORRIBLE!!!! I set my appointment for my only day off. When I got there at my appointment time, I was told to not even bother signing in because I was not there 30 minutes earlier to fill out paperwork. She told me the nurse wasnt even going to see me because of that. The way that the woman at the front desk said it was very unprofessional!! Her and the other woman told me I would have to reschedule. I set my appointment for that specific time and date for a reason because it was the only time I could make it.

Patricia Davis Primary care has been my physician, Dr Elizabeth sanders, for more than 20 years. The staff is kind and considerate of your needs. Dr Sanders listens to your needs and helps you not only with medication, but with the mental part of having a disease. She figured out 2 medicines I was allergic to with my blood pressure medicine. That means she had to research my problem on her own time. She is professional and really listens to you. I would highly recommend her and her staff.

David Cressler Treatment was excellent. The explanation given by the attending physician was poor. He started off with a joke about the Johnny Carson Show, "Stump the Band" said I had an abscess that was in the proximity of the Appendix, but never said that I had had a ruptured Appendix. Not did any of my attending physicians, Radiologist(s) or Surgeon, or Doctor. The night nurse said it out load after looking at. the screen record Thursday night, which I thought she jumped to conclusions. When I asked the Doctor on the 3rd day of there was a way to determine where the infection came from, thats the first time she said ruptured appendix. Other communication and service problems in the hospital. The ER was otherwise excellent.

Heather McLaughlin There was no way of talking to my nurse practitioner to solve my symptoms. I was baker acted because I was hearing the schizophrenia, I did not like being at North Florida. I felt I needed diet restrictions due to my weight gain and I was scolded by the dietitian who said I did not need anything but a regular diet. It was hard to stay awake, and I experienced a lot of anxiety daily and I felt very heavy walking from the medications prescribed. I was given a medication that gives me allergic reactions. I luckily didnt have a seizure because that medication Im allergic to was at such a low dose, but I was afraid when they gave me 100mg shot of haloperidol for long lasting shot, I made sure that they gave the shot in my arm because in the hip is where it makes too many bad reactions, and for what reason I am not sure. Going to groups was hard for me, I have never been good at following a calendar of scheduled times to go to groups, it was confusing for me, but I showed up to groups when I was awake. In the mornings I always felt extremely tired, but I answered to the staff when it was time to eat. I honestly dont recommend this place. I think Shands Vista is a lot better.

Ellie H Update: Had an appointment scheduled that has now been pushed off by two weeks with no one reaching out to me by email or phone to ask if the new date and time would work. Simply received a message that, oh, their schedule somehow has changed two weeks away and now screw you, you have this new date and time and doctor even? hope you check your MyChart in time to see. They’re lucky I get email notifications for it. So sick of medical care being so flimsy with scheduling, happens all the freaking time with UF Health, especially tower hill. I want to give them more stars, however, they absolutely never answer the phone. I’ll be on hold for forever with no answer, even calling in the middle, beginning, or end of day, without fail, no one answers me. I have to go in person to make an appointment because they also never answer messages through the app. It’s incredibly frustrating.

Shelley MT BEWARE! One star is too much....I was referred to Dr. Hagan in this practice. Dr. Hagan had no openings. However, Dr. Panna did. It was urgent I see someone so I agreed and took the next available. I now see why she has openings. After only being with me for 20 minutes she was looking at her watch. I came to her because I have a mass/growth and for help with managing pain and choosing the best medication. She told me I was blowing my pain out of proportion and I should only have to take OTC medicine for my pain. Told me I may have a drug addiction. This is after I stated I wanted to STOP taking the meds I had been prescribed but I had such bad withdrawals when I tried. Then the mass because she could not feel it immediately needed to leave before looking any further. Mind you I am a cancer survivor! I will NEVER go to her again and will tell anyone the same. Please do not see her.

Larson Danielle (Dani) Im leaving this review for my grandfather, Harry Zimmerman. "I would like to inform all my friends that the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainsville, Fl. is an outstanding facility with the BEST teams. Dont believe any negative comments about the treatment to our Veterans, they saved my life last week in so many ways...congestive heart failure. Never did I as a Vietnam Vet, in 1966 think that I would experience the kind of wonderful treatment I have received over the last 15 years. This facility is one of the best and now you know."

J J This facility and the one in Lake City needs to truly be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves. It reaked of urine and smelled like a funky nursing home. The restroom was filthy and to think this is what they call acceptable for VETS??? Parking is also very inconsistent and not great at all. People deserve way better than this.

Ronda McCauley Called the nurse line this morning. They told me to bring mom directly to the Gainsville VA ER. Drove an hour to get here. I have now been here for over 8 hours! We got an x-ray and an ultra sound, and some blood work. Well, well see how long this takes. All because an amputation site HURTS and last time it felt like this there were blood clots. The VA really needs to do better for the Veterans. Ok, so this was originally a one star review. After 10 hours the second doctor said, "I want this other lab work done". 12 hours into this whole visit mom, was really done with this whole thing, and I was not far behind, but this doctor did find something that has been missed for many years! Mom was admitted after almost 13 hours, missing multiple medications, multiple meals, and spending 13 hours in the waiting room.

Michael WORST VA IN THE WORLD!! I’ve been to the VA in Vermont for 30 years.. went to this hospital after I moved and they just pure SUCK!! I went to Gainesville seeking extensive help for physical injuries/complications after and auto accident and mental health. Multiple departments don’t return phone calls and just about every department just blew me off. They appear as if they care.. but they don’t.. when I lost 5 months of this VA screwing everything up, I called Mr Williams, who the chief patient advocate had return my call as I was in desperation.. and explained to him I needed desperate help.. (you guessed it) HE NEVER CALLED ME BACK!! I transferred to Orlando….

Damon Erfan Ghetmiri Great medical facility! They have pretty much most of the specialties, primary doctor, labs, and pharmacy! Everyone is super friendly and nice, and they try to accommodate you. The down aide is that it is usually hard to get early appointment times. But, when it’s the day of your appointment, everything is smooth! Really like the MyChart system they use, everything is so organized!

Noa & Stella Show Had an amazing experience on the second floor at the women center with Sammy! She was kind, genuine, joyful, patient and knowledgeable! My family and I were there today for my viable ultrasound after a devastating loss at 16 weeks 8/22/24. She made us feel at ease and was thorough with her explanation of what she was doing making our experience comfortable and not on edge because of what we endured at other places (I’ve had 3 miscarriages). Our baby is doing amazing and we even got pictures that Sammy printed for us! I even forgot my Stanley and she called me and rushed to bring it to me! Thank you so much Sammy! Juli Aitch Due to the fact CareSpot is extremely inept, I had to be seen for possible pneumonia. In one quick sweep, they took care of something that should have been done in the ER. Thank you to the amazing person who helped me.

Cindy I have been a patient at Springhill Medical Center at both buildings 1 and 2, since it first opened. I have a doctor on every floor because of my complicated medical history. I find Springhill to be a wonderful resource for medical care. I have never had a problem there. All staff have been courteous and kind. The grounds and buildings are immaculate. I recommend this to all who need excellent and courteous medical care!

David Davis The doctor is great, when you actually get in to see them. I had an annual appointment scheduled in September. They asked me to reschedule to October because the doctor was going to be out. In October i had a family thing come up and had to reschedule. Their only opening was for January. I took that. I get a call on the second day of the year and they ask to reschedule me for May. When i asked if they had anything sooner, they told me that annual exams were not a high priority. I asked if when we get to the 29th of may, what is the chances that they move my appointment again and the person said "Yes that could happen, we dont know what will be happening then." I asked about some other solution, maybe i could see a different doctor with an opening for my annual and I was told that because it is an annual I am only allowed to see my primary. So according to them, an annual is simultaneously not important enough to prioritize when moving appointments, and also it is super important to have your regular doctor for it. I told the person I hope they have their next doctors appoint rescheduled and they hung up on me. I did get a notification via my chart that my appointment was approved for May, so at least they actually put it in.

Jay Worst hospital ever my grandmother was in emergency waiting room for 8 hours (80 year old lady sitting for hours!!!). It should be a concern and priority to hire more staff being that all the staff in emergency room just gather by security desks joking around but don’t assist elderly patients to restroom and tell the family members “oh you can do all of that” honestly this is the worst service we ever received. At this point night crew needs a totally new staff who love their job and not just a paycheck

Scott LaScala I can not say enough good things about this hospital. Ive had two stays with them. The first time, they saved my life. The second time, they gave me my life back. From doctors to the housekeepers, everybody is kind, caring, and professional. The nurses are exceptional. This is how a hospital should function. I live in Ft. Lauderdale and go here for my procedures. That should tell you something.

Kaitlin Bradley I’ve had the privilege of meeting Dr. Benidir, and I can confidently attest that he’s one of the most caring and selfless doctors I’ve ever encountered. I myself am in health care and have met many Drs through the years. His exceptional expertise in treating prostate cancer is matched only by his compassion and dedication to his patients. If you or a loved one is facing a prostate cancer diagnosis, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Benidir. You can trust that your family will be in good hands with him leading your care. His professionalism, empathy, and commitment to delivering top-notch treatment make him an outstanding healthcare provider during a sensitive time. I hope this review finds someone and helps them.

David Bradley I went in for a knee revision and was supposed to be staying for 2 days in a room I ended up staying in the recovery room and then they moved me to another room with nothing in it but a sink I am so disappointed in this hospital because I have been here 3 times before. I would rate it pretty good but I cant. This is the worst experience Ive ever had at this hospital.

TA Carolina Recently had major surgery here. The physician and his staff as well as the OR staff were absolutely phenomenal. Once I got to my room for a 4 day stay, things changed. The staff were awful, inattentive, and MIA. Had a loved one not been with me the entire time, I would have been in bad shape. There was a highlight to my stay however. Mr Walter Furlow with the nutrition department was very caring. He visited me each day and made sure all of my dietary restrictions were conformed to. He was helpful and went out of his way to make everything as good as possible. I asked for a way to recognize Mr Furlow, but the hospital only allows recognition for nursing staff. So, Walter, here is the best I could do. Thank you, sir, for making a difficult time easier on me.

Eve Durbal The new staff is terrible, I just traveled almost an hour and wasted 40$ in gas for them to tell me they rescheduled my appointment for NEXT MONTH. I havent even had a first appointment yet, an ultrasound not **** they didnt tell me they rescheduled my appointment or why. I walked in and they said they are booked while there is literally ONE patient in waiting area. It seems like they want to get paid to **** people over.

Emma Marie Love this hospital and the people that work in it. But they need to work on answering their phones in the ob instead of telling someone to leave a message and they’ll call you back because they never actually call back I called 4 times within the time span of 3 hours and left a message each time and still didn’t get a call back and now they are closed so I’m only giving 2 stars because that is simply someone putting off calls till they close so they don’t have to deal with it. Pure laziness.

Sammie Its ridiculous how a gap in insurance with a company that will back-bill to cover any visits while not insured up to 90 days yet Im told I either have to have cash in hand or oh well me and my baby dont matter unless money is involved... its disgusting how EVERY single office in Gainesville says the same thing... you would think a persons health and their babys health would be a priority over a $ sign....

Bridget Wallace When I came into Your hospital I was unconscious and had to come by ambulance, so I had all my jewelry on when I got to the hospital. This is to include two necklaces one pair of stud earrings and a diamond and gold tennis bracelet. Well a nurse came out and gave my husband a denture cup that had in it to necklaces and a pair study rings no diamond Tennis bracelet. I called several people there at the hospital to try to get some help in finding out what happened to my bracelet but to no avail. My suggestion to them was to look in medical records look up the date that the nurse took off my jewelry find out which nurse it was an why she Didnt give my husband the bracelet. Blow find a picture of my bracelet in the box This is what it look like.

Anna Maxwell My mother went to ER in Millhopper with a broken hip and was transferred to North Florida Regional Hospital for surgery. We went straight to the 6th floor and was immediately taken care of by a wonderful person Tatiana. She took care of all my mother personal needs. She made my mom very comfortable, did not embarrass her when she was changing her gown, all in all treated us like family. That is priceless. Everyone else was fantastic as well. Very nice and caring. Tatianna, I cant thank you enough for all your help even when I was getting in the way. you deserve a raise Thank you

Moore Nichole Ashley “Nikki” My mom has been admitted for back pain. Her kidney was also in failure. They have been very strict with her diet which she hates but they are trying to protect her. They have brought her arts and crafts supplies. She has a lively view of The Hope Garden and clouds. They are very thorough with their testing. I am so grateful we went there.

Diane Cocking My husband was recently a surgical patient. When discharging him, they did the paperwork, showed him where the elevator was and told him where to wait outside for me. What happened to being wheeled out and a nurse staying with the patient until a family member arrives. Thoroughly disgusted with the treatment. Also he spent the night and in the morning they didnt even give him a toothbrush or tooth paste. Ugh. Great hygiene.

Ashley Reese Both my friend and my mother were treated here and both had to go to different hospitals due to negligence from the staff. My elderly mother had a bed sore that was a stage 3 infection that had to have surgery. My friend was given potassium so fast it gave her a blood clot and she has to be on serious blood thinners for months now. The staff is constantly rotated so you rarely see the same nurses twice, the facility is dirty and dont get me started on the state of the bathrooms. My mom lost 20 pounds in a week because the food was not palatable. It may have been a good hospital 10 years ago, but due to UF involvement, its gone drastically downhill. I understand that students have to learn, but that shouldnt get in the way of patient care.

Jay Wells My experience at Shands was beyond disappointing. Dr Yueng was cold and very ambiguous with instructions for before and after. There was an issue that should’ve been taken care of before he proceeded, but yet he proceeded anyway. He knew by going forward, he would leave with a problem I should not have. He did not remove a cyst before he did his procedure. The first reason I went to Shands was to remove the cyst. If Yueng had done what he should’ve done, the cyst would’ve been removed and then we would do his procedure. But the money is important, so my care suffered. Now, I’m stuck in a situation where I am the one who has to deal with the consequences. Nobody from Shands has contacted me since they were paid. Even though I have asked to speak to the head of urology. They treat Yueng like he is God. He believes that as well. I would never ever suggest that anyone go to Shands, unless they are burned. There are better places to go and they aren’t far. Shands is living off of a reputation of a time long gone. Don’t believe the hype

Alan Franck I was very sick. Its the 1st time I admitted myself to the ER as an adult. In about 3 hours, I was discharged and feeling much better. Sitting in the waiting room can be challenging, and being treated seated in the hallway is probably not ideal for patient or provider. But I dont think its fair of me to fault them for that. Given the resources available, they treated me well. Everyone was very kind. So I want to say thank you. From my experience, I am very grateful.

Darryl Lewis Much better ERs in Gainesville. Dont go here place is trash. They will call you in the back just to have you sit in the hallway for 2-3 hours while the staff walks past you without acknowledging you or giving you any kind of update. what seemed like the entire staff was congregating at the end of the hallway they sat me in. Apparently they had someone that was critical which I understand i was not there for anything life threatening, but it felt like some of the staff was using the incident as a break from the other patients, because there were a good chuck of them at the end of the hall and me and the two other people who were sitting in the hall just had to wait. Overall if your desperate your better off going to the vet.

Joseph Tazbir 5 hours in waiting room with my son (19yearsold) mentally much younger 9 or 10 severe hiccups stomach pain they keep saying your on the list I informed them that he was going to vomit 1st nurse ignored me another patient and myself both yelling he going to be sick he then vomited blood appox 2 cups they strolled out a nurse practitioner said ok we will get him got in there we will run some labs and try sme meds tohelp him (never asked if he was on other medications). Then a nurse came out and said he was going to a er room. Saying that er room was a different department. We had labs, scan, xrays medication for hiccups after 11 HOURS he was released there diagnose was constipation hand us discharge papers never going over follow up treatment. Once home (still had hiccups) reading through the paper suggested we mite try a miralax powder that might help. That did clean him out . Hiccups finally went away after 49 hours. I will NEVER GO BACK OR recommend them.

Mik H A very competent ER. BUT extremely expensive. Been 3 times, things take long and the bill is high. Across 3 visits about $1600 for every hour you spend there. I saw 1 doctor twice for maybe 10 minutes times 2 and he billed $5k. If its not an emergency, go somewhere affordable.

Scott Dance Biggest joke in the world, they will be quick to collect your insurance info and have you sit for hours with no acknowledgement, resolution or anything only to end up walking out due to frustration. I sat in a waiting room for almost 3 hours holding a cup of my own urine. Suddenly when I’m about to walk out they want to try and do damage control…I should have known when I got there the lady yelling in the waiting room about sitting around for 6 hours with no acknowledgment wasn’t just acting out of pocket…she was right!! This place is a joke and doesn’t care about anything besides sending you a bill

Ashley O We went to Shands prior new years via ambulance due to asthma, upon arrival he was at his pediatricians office and had been tested for RSV, FLU AND COVID ALL NEGATIVE! once arrived they started treating him and ASSUMED he had RVS and placed him in a room with an RSV patient WITHOUT even reading his information, we requested they remove us from the room that he had already been tested and it was NEGATIVE and we have a baby at home. They took their sweet time and decided to remove the RSV patient to another room not even 10 mins later placed a small child with burn wounds in his place. #1 Im not happy they made an assumption and put my baby at risk #2 I feel bad for the small child with burn wounds being placed in that room so quickly and being exposed. Next! Once tested and EVERYTHING NEGATIVE he is admitted for asthmatic reasons we (the parents) requested a cheast xray several times because the pediatrician reccomended it we were denied because they said he was responding to treatment and protocol says he dont need one. Well fast forward to being discharged Two days later we return to the pediatricians office she asks why he didnt have a cheast xray we explain they denied us the option, he does breathing tests in office hes STILL having difficulties she she then requests we have one done and GUESS WHAT! HE HAS PNEUMONIA!!! Something that could have already started treatment and delayed due to the hospitals NEGLECT! very disappointed and absolutely will never go to this hospital again!

Jayson Virga If I could give 0 stars I would im currently here for a benefit of a doubt from when my partner had her baby here and that was just an awful experience as well. We are here with my autistic son who has a strict diet already and we arent allowed to eat due to them having to sedate him and chances of problems which I understand but to tell us he will be undergoing sedation at a certain time and making us wait 2 hours and still didnt show up I get its christmas but the time they gave me was supposed to account for lack of personnel. All they want to do is rack up the bill for insurance so they can charge whatever they want. Stay clear of this hospital we will never be back here and I recommend people stay away.

Nilda Ali My 8 year old granddaughter has been here since 9/4/24 facing Leukemia (relapse). During our stay all staff have been excellent providing the most courteous service. There is someone specifically I would like to thank her name is Brittany who is doing the 7-7 shift on 9/22/24. Her caring method and going the extra mile for patients is something that I value. Empathy should be among the top requirements for working in such a delicate environment, in my eyes she went above/beyond. I definitely can’t be here everyday but knowing my granddaughter is surrounded by this wonderful staff alleviates my worries. Thanks again!

Damian Wells Tried to take my son to his 9:20 appointment but was not seen until after 10 and then when I asked ARNP, Bernadine Tibits for a referral to another UF Dr. She told me that was not her job. When the office manager was asked to intervene and well, manage, Lakisha Thomas - I was threatened with UF withholding healthcare for my son. Reported to customer line but just get voicemails. The new management and staff are the reason for the review. Man, do we miss McFadden.
