carol brooks The nursing staff was absolutely incredible. They were helpful, understanding, and some of the happiest people Ive seen. They not only made sure I was comfortable but also the friend that brought me. I would highly recommend BayCare Hospital. From the time I got there till the time I left I was treated with care and respect.

Anna Dodd My family member had surgery here and we felt the staff was very informative and took great care of her. I want to specifically mention Nurse Jennifer, Nurse Brooke and Nurse Evelyn. They all showed compassion, empathy, and made us feel very comfortable throughout the process.

taylor tabor After arriving in 12/23/24 I was wheeled into the hospital of bartow at approximately 515 pm. After being wheeled to the check in desk and I got a wristband, I went straight to the room.however, as the time went on and I had the initial visits, The labs ordered, and xray taken, first meds give(as well as a blood thinner), and IV started the RN Stephen and Samuel did phenomenal, consistentlty checking vitals and making sure I could still breathe with the support of the RT Nina. Later I did ask for a flush of my IV before being moved, and when doing so there was no cap on my port, the nurse did not sterilize the port nor did they wear gloves. After about 4 hours I got admitted for what I was told to be monitoring and antibiotics. Apon arriving to the room 206 I was greeted my a green scrub nurse in training who set me up with water and sheets. Later another nurse came in and gave my a gist of what the orders said. ( I had a prn inhaler, and at 6 am a steroid will be administered) vitals were taken and they offered me food as I had just been cleared to eat. I told them I have my respiratory aunt coming and she can grab something and they left. At about 11 I was having difficulty breathing and requested a nebulizer and the RT Theresa brought me an inhaler. When I asked for clarification of why I’m getting an inhaler and not a nebulizer the RT informed me that the inhaler is just as effective. However studies have shown Because its easier to take in the medication, they can deliver a more accurate dose. Inhalers, on the other hand, require coordination and correct technique in order to deliver the right amount of medication. Through out the night and into the early no one checked in the room at all, when questioned the ACU charger nurse Karen Doly was very short with responses oh why I was in the acu with little to no monitoring. I had not been hooked up to any monitors or observed. which is what I was told i was there for. between the hours of 1130-445 there was no “observing”. When asked the plan of care for me it was explained by the charge nurse that the NP did not order any monitors nor antibiotics, and vitals to only be taken every 8 hours…. After I was admitted for breathing issues… which in my opinion should be monitored (as I do at home and they had done in the ER). I could have been ACTUALLY observed at home by myself with my own actual monitors and if any problems were to arise I would go to a different hospital. The security is amazing and the er was very attentive. However acu night shift was FAR FROM the best I’ve experienced. The shower has vomit chunks on the floor, the toilet had mold growing around the seal, the handle bar next to the toilet had dust and handprints as through its not cleaned between pts, there a rib bone on the floor next to the bed (I had a Wendy’s salad for dinner not ribs…)

Janette Neilson The customer service at this facility was great for my mother’s tonsillectomy this morning. The entire team from walking in the door was very friendly, helpful and professional. Katherine, Althea, Debra, Robin, Patricia, Lori, Dr. Fennig, Dr. Jean, Lisa and Jennifer. Althea was wonderful at putting the IV in her arm which is no easy task with her small and rolling veins. Katherine was the best. Her bedside manner was very welcoming and put us all at ease. Lori was very pleasant and made sure that my mother was comfortable had everything she needed. We couldn’t be any happier with the treatment we received.

Nancy Stein My visit was awesome the staff and nurses gave me the best care and attention. Doctors were attentive and explained my situation where I understood. Being vegan plant based I got one of the best healthy vegan meals for breakfast and lunch which was greatly appreciated. Never have I seen such a healthy vegan meal at any other hospital! Kudos to you all!

Frances 1st experience is listening to two employees, one gay male and the other a pregnant female, judge my husbands appearance. Female was the triage nurse, the male disappeared when I called him out on it, so I dont know his position. I was asked to sit on a blue chair for triage.. While sitting there, I hear the male tell the female, "wait, I want to see this, he looks good", my husband was just entering and at security. There is a partial wall so I didnt see who he was talking about but I had a feeling they were talking about my husband... the pregnant female then said " I dont see it", he followed with, "really...yeah I guess... at that point, when the person they are speaking about is in sight, its my husband like I thought... I then let them both know, that I saw it, which is why I married him... I also said, I can say the same about you both... I dont see it.. they froze, didnt know what to say... he disappeared and she then had to triage me. She then began to try and downplay it.. that she was pregnant and she just dosent see it in anyone not even her husband... she didnt apologize, she justified why she said what she said... then began to act super sweet. The gay male disappeared and I didnt see him again.... Then I needed an MRI for a torn meniscus, but was told no because they are not allowed to use the machine unless its for head trauma... horrible experience. I pretty much paid to have my husbands appearance judged by emergency room employees. I will not be returning to this hospital.

Maria Luisa Arismendi Worst hospital experience the front desk and nurses were great! Too bad there Dr. Gonzalez had no beside manner at all never introduced herself all she said was we don’t really treat for blood pressure, besides my blood pressure being at 193/101 I was twitching uncontrollably and my words were slurred she told me they would do a few labs, when she got the results she came in to tell me it came back normal and that I can go home and rest, I asked her what about the twitching and she said it might be from my medications, that I’ve been on for years and this never had happened before, I could not get out of there fast enough, I knew I had to go to another hospital and drove to AdventHealth Davenport were they immediately noticed what was happening and called a code stroke immediately thanks to that hospital I got the best care after the horrible experience at Bay Care Winter Haven and Dr. Gonzalez, I felt that she did not care at all and I was dressed in my scrubs and was coming from work and not even that helped, I hate to think how she treats other patients.

Jeff L VERY disappointed with Winter Haven Hospital’s Handling of My Father’s Care Our family had a heartbreaking experience with Winter Haven Hospital when my father, who had dementia, was brought in under a Baker Act(for health) by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on Thanksgiving Day. His caregiver, who lived nearby, could no longer care for him, and the hospital was legally unable to release him without placing him in a long-term facility. Just before Christmas, we were informed that he would be transferred to a long term care facility in Lake Wales. However, after days of silence, we received a shocking call from a doctor who vaguely mentioned that they "think" he aspirated but weren’t sure. Suddenly, the conversation shifted from long term care to "comfort care". Around the same time, we started receiving insurance denial letters, leading us to believe that his long-term placement had been rejected. It seems like, instead of finding a solution, the hospital did what was most convenient for them. We spoke to an employee there that told us that people come in the hospital, theyre walkkng, talking and joking around and the next thing they know they start talking about comfort care. All I know is this hospital was way too eager to put him on "comfort care" and get him out of there. What I witnessed was not comfort, he suffered before he died. Communication was poor, and the lack of transparency left our family feeling helpless and betrayed. If a patient cannot be legally discharged, they should still receive proper care, not be left in limbo while families struggle to get answers. This experience was devastating, and I would caution others about trusting their loved ones to this facility.

Kurt Stefan After losing my primary care physician, I was able to be seen early, and was happy to see an acquaintance, Cameron Alder, who was thorough, and caring in taking care of my ADHD symptoms. I will definitely go back to follow up my lab testing.

Emma Divine If I could give zero stars I would. I was assigned a PCP by my insurance, came to my first appointment in hopes to get a referral to an ear Dr and a gynecologist. I have chronic ear infections and have HPV that’s turning cancerous as we speak. The dr (not sure his name) at the Dr today office wouldn’t give me a referral because, in his words “your ears look fine” and my results for my Pap smear looked fine. Which it wasn’t AT ALL. I came back a year later because they won’t approve me to see any other drs except for them. I had an appointment with a surgeon to get rid of my cancerous cells, annd ann anppoit with an ear dr and my dr won’t approveeither referral. So I literally can’t even show up to my appointments. This Dr is absolutely horrible. Not to mention it’s totally dirty in there. NEVER GO HERE!!!!

Angela Bryant Ive been a Patient of Dr Today since 2007. I remember Dr Js 1st and only office. Its been quite a journey watching all the graduates come through all the offices throughout the years. I choose the Bartow location even tho I pass 3 other location to get there. Dr Cameron has a great bedside manner and really cares about his patients. The office staff is just as great always friendly and happy to help with any questions or concerns.

I went with my 12 year old daughter as a walking they talk to her and we when the next day as they told us they just talk again about the same question and give a appointment… but I don’t understand why my daughter need to wait 2 weeks for the intake and then wait to see the psychiatric. When her psychologist send her for emergency treatment or stay hospitalized. I will update my review to see how goes.

Heywood Baker acts reasoning if non violent or suicidal are questionable which are pretty much the only 2 questions they ask anywhere over and over and OVER and OVER and as LOUD AS YOU CAN SCREAM that which makes the hold extremely TRASH law put why anything they would HOLD U FOR LONGER even more questionable strange cause they have inmates from county in there asked on of there guards with a badge why i cant leave said talk to staff no oversight even with them in there and there overall treatment plan from the doc? Aint the meds know what Im saying not the worst of em but space is limited.

Zana Cozier Can’t get ahold of anyone. When you do, you’re transferred to never be picked up on. No compassion in this facility at all. But it’s legal? Crazy how people come here for depression and suicide, but being placed in a place like this makes it better? Make it make sense.

Giancarlo Acosta It is the worst emergency room I have ever visited. I went with my children, that was having stomach pain, looking like it was appendicitis. We had to go through a metal detector, like the TSA at an airport. Then checking in was horrible; later, we sat down for 1 1/2 hours with my children crying in pain and not being able to sit down comfortably, and they never called us to take vitals or anything. We ended up leaving for a different emergency room. I hope nobody has to go through this. If you care about your family or yourself, go somewhere else.

heather Yates I have been here many times, and I have always had great experiences. My last 2 times being here, I have seen Randall Scott E PA-C. He has the most wonderful bedside manner with patients, the first time I seen him I was in really bad shape and he was very busy, but still made sure to care for me like I was the only one here to be seen. Today, the issue was not as serious but he still took the time to explain things to me. Michelle A was the RN that assisted and she was equally as great and Randy. Thank you so much for treating your patients with the care that we don’t see often anymore! I hope this review finds you both and your superiors also see this! Your bedside manner did not go unnoticed! Thank you again!

Don Turner Went through the ER yesterday and was seen immediately and admitted overnight. The Nurses, Doctors and Technicians were all professional and super friendly. My only recommendation is to change the sticker in the screening process to reflect “ER” instead of “ED”!

Alexsandro Caetano One of the scariest moments in my life: My daughter had pain in her right arm and we just tried to get Rx to make sure She was OK. The problem is the ER department was horrible, almost 3 hours to get a simple Rx and during the wait time, several patients positive to COVID were treated and the staff (Doctors and Nurses) basically touched them and did the same exams in other healthy patients with 0 SAFETY PROTOCOLS. Why not isolate the contagious disease patients ?!?!? To make it worse I think the distance between the boots was like

Brandon Parsons Run away! Most unprofessional office I have ever been to. First walk in and greeted with the meanest front receptionist I’ve ever talked to. Then the Doctor treated me with the most disrespectful manner the entire time questioned me and pretty much called me a liar without ever seeing my charts. Extremely unprofessional. There’s a reason they are 2 star on here. An hour on hold on phone every time I called and still no answer. There’s no way to leave a message as the voicemails are full. Met one nice person at this office. Everyone else is EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. Went to give blood here and informed the nurse I pass out with needles and need to lay down she rolled her eyes and told me there’s no beds and she needed to “hurry up go home because her shift was almost over” and sternly (almost yelling) told me to go wait in the waiting room. Then heard her in the room complain about me to the other nurse. She came out and told me to go elsewhere. They couldn’t help me. Not a good look. How is this ok?

C W Was treated both with dignity and in a timely manner... This was a difficult process and they were there to answer my questions at the time of my appointment... That being said, neither my primary doctor not my pharmacy could reach them to set up my initial prescription, and they have some difficulty returning phone calls

Daniela Sherrod The podiatrist, Dr Diperrio, was the worst doctor with the most arrogant bedside manner I had ever met. The check in was smooth. But when I got back to his office area, the nurse took my first visit questionnaire, and input wrong info when I wasnt done with it. When he came in I had brought my mri disk, he said he couldnt get the computer in the room to function so he never looked at it. Could not answer my questions about tendon surgery, except by saying " you have a tear, we do surgery, thats it". Would never let him touch me with a ten foot pole. If he is a reflection of this establishment I will never be back.

Waldo Carbo Jr I came to the BOCC for an interview for one of the planner positions available that I applied for. I have to say that the building itself was neat and not too crowded. The bathrooms were also clean and smelled good. The parking situation was fine also because they have a parking lot that you can pay to get a parking spot that isnt overly expensive. There is a free parking lot, but I dont suggest you try to find parking there since it will be impossible to find a free spot. The paid parking isnt expensive though. The first two hours were $2.00 which isnt bad. In fact it could probably be more expensive and still meet the 80% occupied rule. The staff that I met with was friendly and courteous, to include the reception staff. The design of the building was nice. You can overlook the first floor from the upper floors which gives it an open feel. Over all I think the experience was friendly and well coordinated.

becca Also wanted to complain about the trash services. It is ridiculous the lack of state funding going into waste management and recycling services. All of our recycling is just being sent to a landfill. Roads are not being done in a timely manner yet houses pop up every day. The roads are not being improved with the jump in population. Not to mention the sides of the roads are filled with trash. Something needs to be done

ddaks5 The county requires permits for everything you want to build on your land. How can they require permits and will only see 8 applicants per day??? This county government needs to re-evaluate this protocol immediately or hire a private company that can get the job done in a timely manner.
