5 /5 Shearon Hurst: I started physical therapy at ADVENTHEALTH SPORTS MED AND REHAB in July for plantar fasciitis, then later for vertigo. The therapy I received from the team Dionne, and Taylor (plantar fasciitis) then from Aryami and Dajenny (vertigo) was beyond exceptional. From the check-in with Michele and scheduling appointments with Felipe, this service team was always on point.
When I started therapy in July, I had just finished my last appointment with my podiatrist for plantar fasciitis and I just couldn’t take another injection in my feet, so I asked him for options. He suggested therapy with ADVENTHEALTH SPORTS MED AND REHAB, and I am ever so grateful. They evaluated and collaborated with me; educated me on plantar fasciitis and gave me instructions on how to continue the treatment at home (and all the exercise videos I needed were sent to my phone; love it!). I would love to that it was all easy, but that wouldn’t be the truth. I will say it took a lot of work and dedication, and when I got frustrated with myself (I felt I wasn’t making progress fast enough) they were there to keep me encouraged.
When I completed therapy with Dionne and Taylor, my next session with Aryami and Dajenny. I had vertigo for a long time, and it had been dormant, but one day on my way to therapy I had an episode while driving, that truly scared me. When I finally made it to the office for therapy, I explained to Michele (the receptionist) what was happening, and she said I needed to cancel my appointment for that day, then she asked me something no one had ever asked before, if I had ever had therapy for the condition. Therapy? What was that? She took the time to explain to me there was therapy for what I was going through. After sharing this with my primary care doctor, I signed up for therapy.
To be honest, I didn’t think they were going to be able to help me because I had this condition for so long and the only thing, I was given was pills. So, imagine my surprise at what these ladies did for me. In the beginning, it took some adjusting to the therapy because some days I had headaches afterwards. But you know the saying, “no pain, no gain.” However, with their patience and care, and keeping me challenged, things got so much better.
To summarize (lol) by the time I finished all my therapy, I was back to my morning walks without pain, doing my normal activities and going places without having dizzy spells. I felt great!
This team gave me exactly what what I needed to feel whole again. I thank God for them. They deserve a GOLD MEDAL for everything they did for me. THANK YOU ADVENTHEALTH SPORTS MED AND REHAB
