5 /5 aaron rodgers: I called Complete Discount Auto Repair to make an appt to look at the brakes on a 2019 VW Passat (making some noise nothing serious) $49.99 inspection cost... a call back stating all is well, no attempt to push for add ons or say new pads needed, just an all clear. Then when my 2015 Nissan Rogue was making some awful grinding noise, it was a big job, brakes, rotors, hub assembly somewhere in the range of $1500 and the Rouge is running great. My 2009 VW EOS, was in serious need of shocks and struts front and rear and other suspension repair, so I called Serge at Complete Discount Auto again a few days in the shop and another $1500 and the EOS was back, no more clunking noise and much improved handling. The Rogue then decided to have AC issues and the blower stopped working. I decided to do a Google search and found it to be about a $500 job, and also came across a coupon for $75 off a $500 repair for a place called Christian Brothers, they had an easy on line appt setting process and a same day appt. I decided to give them a shot...without too much more detail Christian Brothers quoted me $1100 to replace the blower motor and resistor, I said that sounds really high... he said is 4 hours of labor, I asked, at what hourly rate, he said $257.
$257×4= $1028, I declined and called Serge at Complete Discount and told him I had my 2015 Rogue diagnosed for AC repair, what would you charge to install a blower motor and resistor...his reply $489. When I went back to Christian Brothers to pay for the diagnose ($95), he actual said oh its not $1100, its actually $1400. Serge had the Rogue blowing cold air the next day for $489.
