Samantha Chierchia My family and I have been coming to Suzana’s for years now, and always leave with perfect hair. Everyone is so welcoming and is an overall great experience. I used to do balayage on my hair, highlights, and now just get dark color. No matter what service I got, my hair looked great. Suzana’s offers so many other services that I definitely want to try!! I travel from New Jersey just to come get my hair done and wouldn’t go anywhere else!!

Mmhhmmm This place cannot dye hair, their colors of what you want and what they feel like doing is unbelievable. Horrible coloring !!!! I guess you cant believe everything on tik Tok. This place should back to school for color training DO NOT GET COLOR THEY OBVIOUSLY DO THE COLOR THEY WANT. Ill make sure nobody I know goes here HORRIBLE and expensive as hell for trash

Bruna Balija Suzana is the best, she has golden hands. I’ve been Suzana’s client for more than 22 years. She did my hair and make up when I got married. Even though I have moved far, I still travel to Staten Island as I have tried other hairdressers but no one can work a miracle like Suzana does. I don’t need to tell Suzana what I want, I just sit on the chair and when she is done I’m always happy and I do get a lot of compliments from people. Thank you Suzana and Liliana for always working a miracle on my hair.

mimi DO NOT GO HERE!!! If I could rate this salon I would give it a -1000000. This was the worst hair experience of my entire life. The people that work at this salon are incredibly horrible at their jobs. I doubt they have any sort of training in the slightest. I had gone to get a wash and blowout. To start this disastrous appointment, the woman who washed my hair was so rough on my head and did not condition my hair at all. I can’t comprehend how you can screw up washing hair but she sure as hell found a way. After a painful washing experience I was sat in a salon chair with a different woman. She takes the cake for worst hairdresser I’ve ever seen. She sprayed my wet, unbrushed hair with hairspray and proceeded to go straight into blow drying my hair. No brushing it or anything. I lost half of my head of hair at this appointment I wish to god I was joking. This woman met resistance in my hair and continued to run the brush, painfully, through my hair. I said ow multiple times and she ignored me. I am absolutely baffled at how she even keeps her job with these methods. After the worst blowout in history, my hair was so fried and crunchy I couldn’t help but cry. I had an event to go to and I’ve never felt worse. It was so traumatic I just want to prevent another person from experiencing this. I am literally not a Karen and I’ve never in my life written a review like this but I need to prevent this from happening to anyone else. I must repeat again do not under any circumstances, if you value your hair at all, go here.

J T Kim is my favorite long-time hairstylist for the last 20+ years. She has consistently cut my hair to my liking each and every time. The same Albanian lady who washes my hair is also like an old friend. Today, a wonderful Belarusian woman washed my hair and she is delightful, too.

Odd team of the Undertaker, Mumkhar, and Ron Paul DO NOT GO HERE! Please, save yourself the trouble! They are so terribly nasty to their customers. It is absolutely disgusting the way Ive seen people treated here. My crappy stylist was, at best, indifferent. But the way Ive seen them treat people just makes me sick... also they have a predatory and dishonest pricing model and will spring random charges onto you that are completely inconsistent with the prices they purport upfront! Makes me sick that an evil, predatory business like this can subsist. In a perfect world, businesses like this would not exist. But this is not a perfect world...

Jhully Ordóñez Sandoya Today I went to the hairdresser and asked for just a wash and cut set (not brushing). The hairdresser was very good at giving me the cut. Then she started drying my hair and I thought he was just going to remove some of the moisture. But I didnt understand why she end up brushing my hair completely. When I went to pay, the girl at the reception told me it was $40. When I asked why the price was higher, she told me that I had asked for washing, cutting and brushing and I did NOT ask for that and I told her so. But she only knew how to tell me that maybe when they cut my hair it was long. The local signs make it clear that this service costs $25 (approx.). But I dont know much English, so I couldnt defend myself any further. Its not my fault if the receptionist and the hairdressers dont communicate well with each other. I would like someone in charge to give me a ticket or voucher with a portion of the discount. I hope for some kind of response. Thank you.

Myrna Arroyo I normally do my eyebrows here pretty often and always leave happy but today was by far the WORST experience getting them done. 22$ was not worth what I got done today. The lady who was there did not bother to pluck , trim or even TRY to fix my eyebrows. I had them already shaped fine I just needed to touch them up and I left looking worse than what I came in with. Definitely do not recommend unless it’s Nayyer. I was better off going to a local nail shop and paying 10$ to get my eyebrows waxed perfectly than what I got done today.

Lia Fig Was not a fan. I think this salon is a little pricey for the service you get. I left with my hair still wet on the inside of my hair and burnt ends even with heat protector. I had to put a hat on to hide my hair.

Fina Haller Love this place! They give you a great head and shoulder massage during the wash process. They always get my hair to come out exactly how I like it. They are always friendly. Unfortunetly I think some of the negative reviews are mixed up with another business down the road named "charming hair salon", especially the one that mentions nails and pedicure because they dont even offer that service here. NEW Charming Hair Design has been my go-to for many years, and I have never had any problem. They are opposite side of the street from the library and next to Sunrise Look Beauty Bar, which is convenient for me as I get my threading and waxing done at Sunrise Look (also great).

Jennifer DiMaria If I can give it a zero I would. They cut all my 12 year old daughters hair off because the women Winnie screwed up so bad. Then Winnie treated my daughter like it wasnt a big deal. It is up to her neck and she wanted it below her shoulders. It looks horrible like a boys haircut. Then while she was hysterical crying they were laughing saying it will grow back. 3 of us got haircuts and not one was the way it was suppose to be. We all went to different people and they all sucked. My hair is uneven. I will never go there again even if it is free. Stay far away unless you just need a blowout. Then tried to charge me for the butcher cut.

Yolii Been coming here on a off for over 10 years but ever since the owner Yolanda left the place ran by the two sisters ARE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE they have a sign in sheet at the register but yet they allow people who "have been here already" just go ahead of you I came in with semi permanent color in my hair and just needed a deep conditioner rinse out and roller set. I arrived at 3pm and had to wait over an hour just to get the conditioner washed out because she was just allowing a person who didnt sign in to just go to the wash station. As much as Ive been here I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SALON they are EXTREMELY SLOW and just have you waiting HOURS for a simple service I WILL NOT BE RETURNING as many times Ive said this before if I could give them no stars I would Oh and they are always changing the price

Kay LLyons I walked in 1:45p.m. Asked for touch-up color, wash, and set. Get started at 2 with a new lady parting my hair into sections. I thought she went to prepare the color and was using the bathroom. Until she tapped me, and could I move over so she could roller-set a Hispanic woman who walked in way after me. I allowed it. Only to move to the back and see the owner washing another two Hispanic women who walked in after. As I sat waiting for an hour, I decided to just get a wash and set because thats all I had time for. When the new lady came to start my hair again, I told her, and she immediately told the owner. The came said we could do it. I told her but now I cant. Long story short... Pictures of my healthy hair and my hair today as i write continuously, and Im continuously falling out now. Im writing this review because they are so wrong. I have been coming here well over 3 to 4yrs and experienced their poor service with jumping me for other spinach speaking people, and I really didnt care just as long as your work was quality. I also tipped everyone who touched my hair. Im unable to upload the because too much on my phone, but either way, they intentionally damaged my hair that day after being there for 4hrs. Thank you for reminding me that hospitality is also a key factor in service and where my money should go.

ZKHOC My friend came here for a silk press and they snuck chemicals in her hair to permanently straighten the hair. She no longer has curls and is planning to big chop. She is the type to bring her own products but they clearly did not use what she brought. Be very careful with choosing to get your hair straightened here. Especially if you’re a natural hair girly and not interested in relaxed results.

Marsha Gotay Yes, Yolanda left, but the girls are doing the best OK and and Nate train on her so why keep coming here if you feel that way they do hear nice I’ve been coming here for years even after you left they still do training and they still do Yolanda’s Hair The way is supposed to be so if you’re not satisfied, then don’t come here with the most respect and Time and Hair, and they love their hair. They make their hair grow and grow and grow and grow and grow.

Lisa Murad This is the BEST hair salon I’ve ever been to. Bona and her staff do such a wonderful job and prices are affordable. I receive the best hair washes with massage added into it. Cant say enough about how happy I am to have found Haven Color Bar. I would recommend them to everyone.

Patsy McFee They did a beautiful job but it wasn’t what I asked for. They were rude the entire time, showing me pictures that were unrelated to my hair. Then when I voiced concern about my hair they would tell me “do not stress it’s just hair, there are bigger things to worry about in the world.” Beautiful execution but it’s not what I wanted and terrible customer service. If you want a hairstylist that says “it’s just hair don’t worry” then this is the place for you! Also they try to charge you for drying your hair! I told them to take the charge off and they did but watch out for sneaky hidden fees!

Miki Ann I had a major hair emergency that brought me to tears. The w wonderful women that work there were kind and patient with me. They assured me everything would be fine...it was! They worked wonders on my hair and miraculously was able to fix it without any damage or breakage. Needless to say they turned my frown upside-down.

n bah If I could give ZERO stars I would. Racist and discriminatory. BBB was notified . Lacks professionalism and will only do a certain texture of hair. Told me they could color my nephew’s hair over the phone . As soon as they seen he was a minority made up a whole bunch of excuses on why they could not do it . They even said “ we don’t do that texture hair and we won’t do a good job “. Beauty school teaches you how to do all textures of hair and we know the process because his hair has been dyed plenty of times . Such a disappointment on his birthday .

Iliana Nunez I was here today to brighten up my hair to blonde. Valbona did a great job on my color. I wasnt happy with the way my hair was washed. The assistant was very nice but i wasnt happy how she washed my hair. She only washed it once and my hair felt dirty. I paid for the biolayge and extra charge for toner and also extra charge for blow dry which I wasnt happy about. I felt the blow dry should have been included in color. Overall she did a great job and i will go back.

Keith Lawrence Miller Brought my 3 girls for a simple wash & dry for their 1st day at school, but the hairstylists kept skipping 1 of my girls because her hair was too thick and long even though her hair was washed and she was waiting patiently for over 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, she was told that she would have to pay more because her hair was long. Are they charging by the foot to blow dry hair? My little 7 year old was skipped over multiple times and told to get out of the chair for older ladies to get washed and did not even have a chance to get her hair washed. We were there for an hour waiting like fools and treated without dignity. I have lived here my whole life, went to this place as a kid, and always tip way more than the standard. We will not be going back ever again. Horrible service, terrible system and low quality results.

Carey Leiterman I dont remember her name, but my usual cutter Tony M who normally cuts my hair was out and I needed my hair cut badly. So I took the advice of one of the girls and went to a woman in the first or second chair on the end near the entrance. It was a disaster. First off she wouldnt listen to me when I tried to explain how I wanted my hair cut. Then she did something weird with the sides because my hair is very fine and now my hair looks like its sticking out on the sides. That didnt bother me too much. She also made the back all choppy by the neck, something Ive never had a problem with from Tony in ten years. But the worst thing is she at one put put a comb to my eyebrow and trimmed it. She said she was trimming 1 hair but it was extremely noticeable. I immediately hated it and said something but the damage was done I had to get the other one trimmed to match. She said my eyebrows had made me look old...at one point she called me a baby because I wanted my hair done a certain way and she didnt want to hear it. I just got it cut on January 4th 2024 and didnt want to start anything but tomorrow Im going back to complain about it. One person already asked me what happened to my eyebrows so I know its noticeible..Im so pissed kff... Do not go there unless you know the barber youre using.

Chris Magreenie First of all, I would like to say this place is absolutely horrid. Starting with the staff all the way to the management. I go in there for a haircut called the "pompadour" and without even asking me, the woman shaved my whole head. I havent had a shaved head since I was in third grade, if this is what I wouldve came here for in the first place, I wouldve had my dad do it for free! I swear, they must hire these people off the street with no experience in cutting hair whatsoever. As I was sitting there, the woman then realized she messed up and started laughing. I was so angry, I didnt want to cause a scene so I walked out and paid. I just wanted to make it known to the manager that the woman who did my hair completely messed it up. The manager had no remorse! Said "its too late now, your hair is gone. I have no time for this." And than told my girlfriend and I to leave the salon. I will NEVER be coming back to this place, they are EXTREMELY unprofessional. Take your money else where, where their staff is actually certified in cutting hair.

KellyAnn Incandela Horrible...it was my sons 1st haircut and I was expecting him to be nice! He rushed the haircut didnt listen to what I wanted! I asked for a lock of hair to save he ignored me and I stopped him to get some he was annoyed. The haircut is uneven! Now I have to take him to have it fixed! Ive used Rudi for my other kids and he was good ...NEVER again will I go back!
