5 /5 Ewa Wdzieczak-Smering: I had a tremendous pleasure of meeting Dr. Heil in the summer of 2021. The original injury, Colles fracture of my predominant hand, ruptured the extensor tendon, which left me without being able to use my right thumb. Since thumbs are responsible for about 50% of hands mobility, my palm was as useful as a paddle.
Meeting Dr. Heil was wonderful. She explained what happened, whats going to take place during the surgery, and how long the recovery might take. I loved her no-nonsense approach. I felt very confident in her skills.
The recovery took a while; I was doing physical therapy for over four months, frequently meeting with Dr. Heil so that she could check on my progress.
Fast forward three years and I am still extremely pleased with the outcome of my surgery. Being able to hold a spoon, use a pen, even use a sponge in the shower - the things we take for granted - is beyond words.
I highly recommend Dr. Heil. Shes incredible.
