Lafayette Square - Buffalo (NY)

5 /5 Josie Smeal: Lafayette Square in Downtown Buffalo is a very unique and busy area..Beautiful Statues that have benches and places to sit within the square around the Statues where you can conversate or just simply read a book ..

5 /5 Peter Cimino: A very quiet park at dawn and dusk, wonderful in the summer to get a break from the sun. You can see city hall when standing in front of the statue.

4 /5 Michael Riley: Nice stop as part of a walking tour of the area. Be sure to keep looking up as most of the great sites are above your head. Go on the weekend when the traffic is lighter. And be prepared to be asked for "favors" of money from the local homeless population. (They were harmless.)

5 /5 John Hsieh: Lafayette Square is a small public green space at the eastern portion of Downtown Buffalo between the public library and the Liberty building. At the center of the park is the Soldiers and Sailors monument. The park is a great shared space, and Im glad to see the police leaving the homeless alone during the day. The park was quite busy on a weekday afternoon, but there are plenty of seating area for everyone to just relax and chill.

4 /5 J H: I know there is alot of history at this small sized park. Unfortunately, I am not the person to ask about that history. I do know alot of activities happen here such as, parades, food trucks, protesting and other community activities. I think its best during the warmer weather to visit, unless you dont mind the cold.
