Helen U The doctors are careless and follow the generic script, so every single time I bring kids here - all they recommend is taking Tylenol regardless of the illness or condition. Flu? Covid? Injuries? Diarrhea? Vomiting? You will be prescribed Tylenol and sent home. Besides, the doctors whom I had pleasure speaking with are unaware of basic developmental needs in kids, like one of the doctors was insisting that my 8 months old isn’t supposed to drink water yet, so I had to refer her to Google to prove it’s allowed and necessary. Not sure what were they studying in college so many years. Probably Tylenol

Bekah Daniel I visited this urgent care 1 week ago due to being sick for over a month and a horrible cough. After explaining all my symptoms, they suggested I try cough drops and dark chocolate. After advocating for myself, they finally gave me a generic cough medicine. I left there and continued to feel worse and worse as the days passed. I went to a different urgent care, and after a listening to lungs for only a couple seconds they noticed something was wrong. I was sent for scans and it confirmed there suspicion of pneumonia. I was transferred to an ER and cared for immediately. All this is to say, they did not listen to me or care to dig in and find out what was wrong. I left without a diagnosis and just advice to “try cough drops”. I was severely upset with my care at this urgent care and their lack of client connection.

Rachel Olson I was so grateful to all the staff after today. They got me in and out in 40 min for a last minute appointment right before my cruise for a UTI. They were calling me back before I was even done with my sample and were all so kind and helpful despite being a chaotic mess this morning. NP Gwen was great and I was so sad I missed the RNs name because she was so sweet. The pharmacy had their prescription in literally minutes. And I had everything I needed in an hour.

Jameson Pettit I am writing this review in complete frustration and disappointment after my recent experiences at UTMB Health Urgent Care, Galveston If youre considering this facility for medical care, especially as an adult, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
Four weeks ago, I visited this office with a persistent, unexplained cough. Despite undergoing multiple tests, which all returned negative, the treatment I received was minimal and ineffective—just some mild cough suppressants that did nothing to alleviate my symptoms. No comprehensive treatment or antibiotics were provided, leaving me to seek help elsewhere.
However, my grievance doesnt end there. One week ago, I made a 3:00 PM appointment via their online system, completed all required pre-visit documentation, and even paid in advance, hoping for a swift and efficient visit. I arrived 15 minutes early, feeling extremely unwell, only to endure an agonizing wait. Approximately 45 minutes into waiting, I noticed multiple families with children, who did not have appointments, being prioritized ahead of me. This happened more than once, and although I understand that this is primarily a pediatric facility, it was disheartening to see appointment times not being honored.
An hour and 10 minutes later, I was informed I was next, only to be shown to a room where I waited another 30 minutes without seeing a doctor. As my condition worsened and the effects of the medication I had taken earlier wore off, I felt more ill and agitated. Eventually, I could no longer tolerate the wait or the worsening symptoms, so I requested a refund and left.
The subsequent drive to another doctor was excruciating, but the difference in care was like night and day. The new office provided the attention and treatment that were starkly absent at UTMB Health Urgent Care, Galveston.
In summary: Do not visit UTMB Health Urgent Care, Galveston before 5:00 PM as an adult, even if you have an appointment. The disregard for scheduled appointment times and inadequate medical treatment are simply unacceptable. If you are seeking a reliable and responsive medical office in the area, feel free to contact me for recommendations.
Disappointed and still recovering.

Colby-Nicole Fullmer After a severely frustrating day, my son stuck three pieces of corn in his ear, The urgent care staff was very quick and accommodating, as well as very understanding and supportive. By the time I left, although they could not assist me as they did not have an ENT on staff, they were very sweet in giving me plenty of referral locations as well as where I should go and what my next steps should be. I love taking my children to their pediatric staff for well child visits as well. This UTMB location has a special place in my heart for how well they have treated us.
