shehnaz khan I recently visited Brenda’s salon for a haircut and wanted to share my experience. While I found Brenda to be very sweet and friendly, I was disappointed with the overall process and the final result of my haircut. Typically, I expect a haircut to start with prepping the hair, even if shampooing isnt necessary. Unfortunately, this step was skipped, which affected the overall quality of the haircut. As a result, I wasnt satisfied with the final look. I hope this feedback can help improve the services provided. Brenda was kind and attentive, but incorporating proper preparation steps could greatly enhance the client experience and satisfaction.

Mary Rose Wild Brenda did an amazing job with my color and cut! It was my first appointment with her and she understood what I wanted in terms of cut and style. ShoeGirl 143 Blessed to have found Brenda! She is extremely talented and delightful. I highly recommend her - you will not be disappointed. Brenda has a very cozy and spa like salon set up, always clean. She’s conveniently located and easy to find. She has a delightful personality that will put you at ease. I have tricky hair. It’s thinning in spots and quite thick in others. It genetically wants to pull warm tones, which isn’t my best look. Brenda keeps me looking my best and is very efficient. She gives a great cut and is an expert with color. Give her a try - you’ll be a client for life!

I gave Heather a picture of what I wanted in my hair color (it was the complete opposite of what I have now). She did the most beautiful job, my hair looks great and I think it even looks better then the picture I showed her! Thank you Heather, youre a Rock Star! Stacy E First of all a HUGE thank you to Laura who had a full schedule yet took the time to refer me to Victoria. Upon entering the salon everyone immediately acknowledges you. The culture is very warm and inviting and bright. There was no wait for my stylist Victoria and she made me feel relaxed and comfortable the whole 3 hrs I was there. This was my first visit to salon and with Victoria. My expectations were exceeded and I have already booked my next appointment. Victoria is very gifted at cut and color and highlights and listened to my concerns and preferences. She is a pure delight to spend that much time with and offers the perfect balance of talking and allowing for some peace and quiet as well. She is a special gem!

Norma Zitterkopf I recently got my hair colored, cut, and highlighted by Mark White at Humphries Salon, and I couldn’t be happier! Mark has been my go-to stylist for many years, and even after moving to Florida for 8 years, I held off getting my hair done just to wait until I was back in town for him to work his magic. With over 30 years of experience, Mark is an absolute expert in hair color and styling. He’s incredibly patient, attentive, and truly listens to all of my hair concerns. Mark always helps me make the best and healthiest decisions for my hair, and this time was no different—my hair looks vibrant and full again! The salon atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. I highly recommend both Mark and Humphries Salon for anyone looking for top-notch service!

Elaine Hawkins Catherine was amazing! I normally go to Dru, who is outstanding and always handles my hair with care and expertise, but Catherine was just as wonderful. She was incredibly friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the process.

Sonal I absolutely love this place. I have been coming here for the past two years and have always had a great experience. Michelle and Daniella work at the front desk and are the absolute sweetest girls. When I walk in, they always greet me with the smiles and warmth you’d greet an old friend. My stylist is Dru, who since our first appointment, has always perfected my hair and left me walking out and feeling like a million bucks. My hair is smoother and feels so much healthier when she’s done with it. I highly recommend this place!

Jontel Pierce I would have gave one star but my makeup artist was awesome. I went for a blow dry and make up. I was admittedly late so I booked another appointment in a later slot. They refused to service me saying they do not have availability for me as my hair requires extended time. Actually it does not. I have been going to Blo dry bar in my area for over a year. My hair is done within the normal slot. Needless to say, they refused to service me and I left and went to Drybar. My hair was done within 45 min. Will not be back due to their discriminatory practices. It’s 2024, learn how to do curly hair as well.

Devika Patel Perfect salon and Binita treated me very well I did all the services like facial and hair color and waxing was really wonderful!! The head oil massage is too good !!

Carolina Ramirez My daughter got her upper lip waxed today and the person who did it had the wax way too hot and it burned her lip. The whole transaction was very unprofessional making very unnecessary comments about her hair and her acne. She obviously didnt know what she was doing if she had it that hot

Subha Palanisamy I would highly suggest people to read this review and the rest of negative reviews first before deciding to choose this place. Extremely disappointed with the hair color service. The quality of products was so bad that it damaged my hair badly. My hair is damaged a lot now. Also the color did not last at all. Just within few washes my hair color went off, i asked for dark brown the first time i went there. When it was done it looked good. I used color safe and sulfate free hair products only. But the color went off within a month. I called them up and went for a second hair color session. They again charged me. As i wanted to get it fixed so badly I did not hesitate to pay again. So I got my hair colored there twice, paid twice but now again the color is gone. Very disappointed. Will never go back, will not recommend this place to anyone. Responding to the owner’s comment: Everyone knows that color would fade. But it will not fade in less than a month. I got it colored for the second time and paid again for the color to go off again in a month. Have colored my hair before and this was not what happened. Worst place ever. I am not posting review to get my money back or get it fixed with you guys. It is so unprofessional of you to not even acknowledge the criticism. Customer satisfaction has to be prioritized. This place is extremely unprofessional. You guys have many negative reviews which talks about the quality of products in the same way I did. It is my mistake that I did not read through all the reviews before getting in to get my hair colored. I thought you would at least be professional enough to gracefully accept the negative feedback. Well your response to my review clearly shows that you are not.

Roxana Lopez was not happy AT ALL with the overall results of the balayage. showed a picture of how i wanted it and absolutely no highlights nor styled my hair towards the end. left very upset.

Marie Ramirez I’ve been coming to see Lesley over a year for my Brazilian wax. I first came to the shop because I had a Groupon for a good price. Lesley does a great job, she’s very professional, friendly and she works fast. We are always done in less than 15 mins. I was running 20 minutes late for my appointment one time and she waited for me with no problems. Highly recommend.

Rosa First time customer here! Based on all the great reviews, I was excited to come in! Let me preface by saying I am not hairy. However, I went in for THREADING, (full face), since I wanted my peach fuzz gone and my brows cleaned up. The owner is heavy handed. I’ve been going for full face threading for 20 years and experienced threaders glide over the skin to catch the hair in the threads. There’s no need to apply heavy pressure on the skin. She also kept stopping to check my skin closely for hairs missed and would periodically stop to rub her hand over my face to… I’m assuming checking for missed hairs. She was FAST AND RUSHING as well throughout my service, which was disappointing because the cost is comparable to corporately owned, chain locations and franchises. I figured since this was a family owned place, the service would be great and the price would be low. The price is not low. The price is the same as what I pay at Wink, ($30 not including tip). I left with so many small bleeding cuts on my face and neck along with soooo many spots she’d missed! I counted 6 bleeding cuts and a lot more missed threading spots on my face and brows. I had to tweeze my brows when I got home and used my wand face razor on the rest of my face as well. I will not be returning to this salon. Sad, because I love going to independently owned salons. There are sooooo many other great threading salons in South/North Irving with lower prices and better service. The owner/threader needs to SLOW down to avoid cutting and missing spots.

Nelly C Its my first time going here and I think it would be my last, here are the reasons why... 1. I had made an appointment a week before, and when I go the guy that was supposed to do my hair said he didnt have me on his books, so I went back the next day in the morning 2. When he already knew I had an "appointment" the next morning he was 30 min late so not professional, he did not even apologize for that by the way 3. He charged me $20 extra than what he had said for the curls which I didnt ask for. Overall my experience was not a good one and would not recommend this place.

J.E. Alcala Halam cut my hair for over a year, although being skilled his lack of professionalism in regards to his clients time can no longer be overlooked. He will routinely have walk ins in his chair during your appointment time. If you value your free time / personal time i would not set an appointment with him as he will have you on average wait 10-30 minutes with an appointment. Today I was made to wait 45 min with an appt. made. He then thought it productive to ask how I was . Once I expressed my frustrations he declared he was unable to cut my hair , thus this honest review was made of my experience. If you want your time disrespected go to this Salon

I asked her to only cut off about an inch and she cut off like 3. review update*** I’m actually giving this place one star now that i’ve styled my hair. I noticed that one side is longer than the other. my layers are uneven. my hair is too short. and I absolutely hate my hair cut. It also looks absolutely NOTHING like the inspo picture I showed the lady.

Arti Nanote The haircut was not done as per the given instructions, and when the issue was pointed out, the staff responded unprofessionally. Instead of addressing the concern, the stylist blamed my partner for not stopping earlier, which makes no sense. payel goswami I used to be a regular here for my threading and for few other services at an interval. I came here mostly because it was nearby my place and services were okay. But during the last visit, the person threading cut me twice and then when I stopped and asked for some time before doing it again so that I can put cotton on the blood, she got mad saying okay call me once you r done as we r busy today. The fact that after the service being horrible , the attitude of the staff was that bad made me never go back to that place again.

Kayla Rhodus I went to Beauty Emporium after a friend recommended it and got full highlights done by Avery. Let me tell you- she understood the assignment! I had longer hair and my color was very sad and drab looking. I showed Avery a photo of what I was wanting and she did exactly that. Cut off a ton of my nasty dry hair and created this cute little bob. Every step of the way she explained what she was doing and why. Happy to say I officially found my hair girl! 10/10 recommend this salon and 15/10 recommend Avery!

Angela Cruz I had my appointment with Brenda and she was amazing. She exceeded my expectations and she really worked on giving me a look that I wanted. I went completely blonde. I am waiting on the pictures from the owner. That way I can post them in this review, but I applaud her so much, even though she actually had an emergency at home. She still managed to come into work on time and finish the whole session without even having any hours of sleep prior to it because of this emergency. I applaud her so much as a stylist and I really like the salon. Aayushi Mahajan I was new in town and googled hair salons when i read the reviews for Nuevo look. Based on the reviews I called in and asked if Luisa(the owner) could do my hair. She told me that she is booked for the day and will give me best possible she can. When I reached there she took care of me herself by squeezing me in her schedule. She was nice, polite and listened to what I had in mind. I could see it she was busy but she did not rush on my hair. She took her time. Overall I am pretty happy with my hair. I am definitely going back.

Veronica There is no system on how clients are seen. The person running the business picks and chooses who goes first. It doesnt matter if you showed up before another client who also doesnt have an appointment they do not honor it. I will say if you have an appointment with them you will be seen at your time. Overall I was not given an opportunity to get a haircut. I was not offered an apology for choosing another client over me. Overall this salon is catered to their current clientele and not friendly to new.

I did my hair and makeup and the artists were so friendly and patient. They listened to all my requirements and did accordingly. Ha Do I went as a walk-in for a trim to my bob haircut. Paid over ten dollars more than my usual lady. No wash but a little hair dryer action after squirting my hair wet. I was happy until the next day when I washed it. My hair was visibly uneven from one side to the other. I did not know about the back. I went back to the salon and the lady that cut my hair was not there. I told the lady that was there what happened, and she said she would fix it. Well, she took her time and it seemed fine at the time. She did not charge me. Well, today my hair is dirty and when i looked at it again, it still is noticeably uneven. Now I will find another place to get my hair cut.

Al Val This hair salon has left me terribly disappointed. Ive been coming here for the past 5-7 years usually getting the same haircut. The manager Samita has always been very nice. It wasnt until a few months ago, I tried getting a bob (a way different request than previous years), and this was the outcome. She was nice enough to squeeze me in her schedule only to get a haircut like this. (She also had the chance to refuse service for a different day if she did not have the time to do it correctly, but instead she suggested to see her at a certain time). She took no more than 15-20 mins at the most. I requested a refund and she said she couldnt give it to me as she had "already spent time cutting my hair," or I could use it for my eyebrows. She advice for me to go back and fix it but I definitely do not trust her with my hair or eyebrows. I was so embarrassed to walk around like that. I went to a different hair salon the same day, was charged the same price, my hair was washed, cut and styled afterwards although the lady took her time to do it. Seriously, if you dont have the time to do something then just say you cant do it instead of messing up someones hair this bad.

Meita Roston We stayed at the Ramada Wyndham for a wedding and needed hair and makeup, I contacted the salon which was 2 minutes from the hotel and really happy I found them. The service was amazing!! Absolutely stunning!! They took the time with patience and made sure I loved it, they also braided my daughters hair It came out lovely. Highly recommend!!

Valerie Aguillen I did a last-minute appointment for make up, facial, leg wax and henna. I got charged $100 for make up. She did my eyeshadow makeup really well, but everything else I had to redo. She didn’t know how to do my eyelash and mascara. My tone was uneven. I stayed really nice to the girl even though she did not have an aesthetician license. One thing she didn’t know how to do was the henna and she did OK with the facial. The lady that waxed my legs did good. But I feel for the amount of money I paid for the make up. I got ripped off other than that. Everything else was decent.

Cais Monroe My eyebrows were a mess. They always do great on my shaping, I have very little arch and the pricing is perfect. The ladies are always kind. However, I have been more than once and my skin is knicked/cut under my eyebrow from threading to close which does hurt while being serviced.

Jada Hadley Let’s just say Evelyn was beyond amazing I seen her 2 weeks ago last minute and she was able to get me in and fulfill my wishes. I got low lights, highlights, and a cut which came out PERFECT! I’m obsessed. Today I returned for my 2 week appointment and I’m still obsessed. I did everything she told me to the first time around and my hair lasted the entire time. I usually don’t trust many with my hair but I trust her more than anyone with my hair she knows exactly what she is doing.

Diana M Arrived with dry natural hair that had not had a service in almost a year. Some grey. Unruly, thick, long and in need of a trim. I got a wash/detangle, color retouch, cut, Dominican blowout and curl. Evelyn made me feel at ease and the salon is welcoming and comfortable. The results were so far beyond what I expected! Joy Ro Based on my experience: very happy and satisfied with the results of my hair. I know personally the ability of Caribbean stylists and she definitely has it. As a customer, we need to understand that not necessarily will be attending at the exact time of our appointment, because its an estimated time, each hair and treatment is different. So, we need to be patient, there or another salon. For me, if I receive great care of my hair and love the results, I dont care to wait a fair time. To get an appointment, I had to call a few times and a text message. But understood that she is only one (or two) while working so she usually responds on the same day and its understandable. I recommend this salon and I will be going soon again.

Lora Ive been going to this shop for 2 years and I absolutely love my hair. Abigail is great with natural hair! She does my color and highlights leaving my hair very healthy and beautiful! I am natural but most people think I have a relaxer after a visit to this shop! Oh, they get you in and out in record time looking Fabulous!

P M While on a work trip staying at the Hyatt Regency DFW, I was looking for a Dominican Hair Salon. Contacted via text and was fortunate to be able to book right away. The location is great, the owner Abigail and her assistant were very nice. I got my hair washed exactly as expected and my blow dry and flat iron service left my hair beautiful.

Joanna M. Abigail is the best in town. My hair always comes out better and healthier than when I come in (and I have extremely curly hair, very hard and tricky to deal with). They always do an amazing job!
