losreyesguerrero I have used their services 5 time. different times, 2 for me, 1 for my mom, once for my sister and once for my son. They are very service oriented, detailed and the doctos know a lot. I have gone to other urgent care clinics and the physicians are guessing, not here. All the staff there seems to be highly trained. My sister had severe kidney infection and stones, had been to other urgent cares and after 5 days came here. They immediately did blood work, an ultrasound and started her on an antibiotic, a medicine to help break stones and a shot every day for 3 days to bring down the inflammation and called to check on her. The only down side is that they dont take insurance.

Lynda Colville Dr. Pakzaban has been my surgeon since 2018. Although I’m very pleased with him cause he is the best, his staff makes it incredibly difficult to get the care a person needs including emergency situations. I feel this puts his patients at risk for further complications even death. Why do they have to be so incredibly rude ??? It’s uncalled for specially when you’re already feeling miserable. Just be nice for goodness sake!! I absolutely love my surgeon or I would definitely leave this place cause they are so mean. I’ve done nothing wrong and I’m always friendly and don’t deserve the treatment that I receive especially from one of the staff members that thinks she knows more than the surgeon himself. Wish he would get a friendly working staff.

Byron Mullen IMHO Dr. Pakzaban is the absolute BEST MicroNeurosurgeon in the entire Houston area. He saw me and reviewed my MRI on a Tuesday and operated on my severely damaged back on Thursday. I left the Hospital 2 days later and he came to the hospital for my discharge on Saturday. I had my first follow up meeting the next Friday and although I have pain from the Surgery and from Nerves still healing, I am making what the doctor called phenomenal progress.
If you need any kind of back surgery, you must call Dr. Pakzabans office FIRST.

Erica Hernandez Ridiculous staff, an hour and a half waiting with other patients coming in and out. Called the emergency number to get the attention needed for an updated post surgery my father was taken for just as one disliked to be bothered your patients dislike to be ignored.. Doctor even more rude, having patients to see is one thing but by passing those waiting because they come from a facility to attend to others who walk in and others with same appointments give no doctor the right to disregard others. Especially those you think have no one to speak for them.

Bobby Taylor I am going to see Dr.Pakzaban again for another issue that Im having. He cured my pain 14 years ago, and I have never had any more problems with the c5 c6 procedure that he did. I wouldnt ever trust any other surgeon. For the people that have complained in these reviews, nothing is ever 100% a sure thing in surgery, but what is a sure thing is that this Dr. Cares and explains everything in terms that a patient can understand. He and his staff are extremely pleasant to talk with and are very helpful. I refer him to anyone that I hear are having problems. I still feel very lucky that someone referred him to me years ago.

Denise Shea Dr. Pakzaban I personally feel along with my husband that he is the best neurosurgeon weve ever had. We both have had back successful surgeries with him and I just had a neck fusion with him and I feel wonderful! I highly recommend Dr. Peyman Pakzaban and his staff if you ever need a neurosurgeon

Denise and Carl Shea

Ronald Wyatt My experience with this practice is not a pleasant one. Two years ago I had an emergency at a hospital being unemployed and no insurance I made payments to the hospital they assured me the Dr would be paid. One year later the same problem came up this time they assigned a different Dr from the same office. Still uninsured I paid off the hospital. Both times there was no follow ups scheduled when the problem came back I went to the surgeon that did the last operation he told everything was good but I would need a procedure to fix the problem they could do it in their office. Everything was set when the day arrived I was the last one of the day to be seen, I had to prepay and I had the cash ready they informed me cash was not accepted so I gave them the card went back the Dr finally came in and probed for about 15 min then said he wouldnt be able to do the procedure he wouldnt charge me because he didnt do anything. Being that they had closed they wouldnt be able to refund the credit card until the next day. The next day came and went, its a month later I recieve a call saying that I owed money for both operations in 2020, 2021 that a refund is not possible. Be careful trusting anyone in this practice they will take your money over your quality of life.

C Ryan Ive been a patient of General Surgeons of Pasadena since October, 2022. I havent had any interactions with Dr. Chaugle or Dr. Gelber but Ive had monthly appointments with Dr. Lam for the last 9 months.
The staff, nurses, and management at General Surgeons of Pasadena are professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.
I initially entered into the Bariatric program with skepticism and a lot of nervousness, but from the first day Dr. Lam let his beliefs be known on which surgeries he preferred and which worked better for certain situations. Dr. Lam was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and showed a genuine interest in my well being.
I had my surgery last week and despite being nervous, everything went so smoothly and perfectly. I couldnt have asked for a better surgeon. I highly recommend Dr Lam and General Surgeons of Pasadena!

Jesse Silvers I checked in to day surgery at 7 am, everyone involved was very courteous and professional. I went into surgery right on schedule at 9 am, had a hernia repair procedure performed by Dr. Gelber, and was back home by noon the same day. Everything went smooth, and I couldnt be any happier with the way it went!

Sandra Gonzales Real bad, my son was sick over the weekend, so I take him first thing in the morning, so whats my surprise, my son is 15 and is been his Dr. Since he was born, and never ever heard such thing of if he sick I have to wait for an a appointment, I cant predict when he is getting sick, so front desk said they dont have nothing open till after 3:30 p.m. I was furious, so I left, drop off my son at the house and went to work, soon I enter my job place, they call me if I want to take him at 10:00 a m. I was like really OMG, so I went back let us wait outside the building then and wasnt his Dr. To start with who see him, took 45 minutes in there waiting, the Dr. Went in & out, in less than 5 minutes. Looking to find a different dr. Customer service was very poor, wont wanna go back ever.

Wifey Garza I’ve been going to him for a few years & I’ve never had any complaints.. until now. They have a girl who works there she’s tattooed all over not to mention wears the biggest fake eyelashes and they also look dirty as if she reuses them which is nasty and not sanitary and to top it off she’s very rough and rude.
Then you have the girl who sits in the window she also wears long thick dirty lashes and she’s very RUDE! Like she’s just there because she needs a check and don’t care to give good customer service. I’m not sure how the Dr. still has these 2 in office.

Mark Romero In March 2022, I went to the hospital for a diabete ulcer that turned into gangrene. This was a series would on my ankle/heel area. I was not given many options to care for this except to amputate my foot. Until I met Lourdes (Lulu), Vazquez, she informed me that she had a limb salvage treatment at her clinic (St Lukes Wound Care). When I finally got the insurance to approve this treatment, Lulu recommended that Dr. Shah and her team treat my wound. Dr. Shah is very passionate about her treatments and her patiences. The nursing staff is awesome especially Maria, Sarah, Joy, Paris, and Cheryl. Carlos has also been there with all my HBO treatments and is excellent. I am still on the road to recovery, but I have come a long way with their care and attention.
If it was not for Lulus visit to the hospital, I do not know where I would be today. So if you have wounds that need treatment, especially diabetes, this is the center to go to and get your cure. You will not be disappointed.

The Jamirs Getting an appointment, I was told they need to verify my insurance first. 3 days later still no appointment. called again and Adrianne said they have to verify with insurance several cpt codes that they might do to me. I have a PPO, Ive not been seen yet, already asking for cpt codes.... If I came in with no appointment, I would have waited all day because they need to verify all cpt codes first? Im glad they dont do this at the ER. will I get an appointment or not?

J Servitus Ive never seen a Dr.s office that has more trouble just filling prescriptions.
Ive called 3 times and HEB has repeatedly faxed them the request and it has been 2 weeks and counting to get this filled. Getting prescriptions filled is like MD practice 101.
Getting a live human on the phone (NOT the answering service) requires divine intervention. How is this level of incompetence acceptable. Seriously. How???!!!

Estefani Soto This review is pertaining scheduling as a new patient. Called to schedule appointment and lady who picked up the phone seemed to have an attitude from the get-go. When told her i wanted to schedule an appointment for my husband she asked for his information, and then proceeded to tell me the " girls would contact him to get more information. " I was so confused because i called to make the appointment on his behalf since he works, and when i asked if there was a reason why i couldnt provide that information she completely ignored me and repeated herself saying they girls would contact him to schedule like if i was annoying her. I was excited to make this appointment since they have such great reviews, but now im very disappointed.

Johan Cervantes This is a GREAT clinic, I had bad elbow pain after a injury in a soccer game, my mom took me to my pediatrician and she said it was fine, the pain was still there for a few days and my mom decided to take me to this clinic, the doctor there then took a look at it and sent me to get a MRI and X-Rays and I had a hyper extension on my elbow tendon, the doctor then sent me the required medication. This isn’t the first time I go since I always go there when I get hurt/sick. Definitely recommend this place.

Daniel Perez Went to this clinic bc I dint want to pay “all this money” but ended up paying way more!!! Literally charged me 140$ to just take my height, my weight, blood pressure and ask me what was wrong. After that they sent me to go and get a sonogram done were they also charged me 150$ ohhh yeah,,,we had to keep bugging them so that they could check if they had the result ready in, they kept on telling us they didn’t so we had to call the other place where I had the sonogram done and they had send it 2 days after I had the test done so took 3 extra days just sitting in there mail. They also told me the 140$ was going to cover my visit back so they could tell me if something was wrong. But as soon as I got there, they wanted to charge me $85 But was able to bring it down to 40$ horrible experience!!! DONT GO HERE!!!!

Sara Leal Changing my grandmother’s provider because they like to make mistakes, such as scheduling out of business hours, then when you arrive at your scheduled time, they tell you unfortunately today is FRIDAY & we NEVER have patients at this time! We called, it was me who called & no I did NOT leave a message, I had to hang up & walk away. She miss understood I scheduled her before now sorry! So these people are also very unprofessional, the receptionist was laughing & smiling the whole time I was upset & asking for answers. Save yourself the hassle & headache don’t come here go elsewhere specially if you are bringing elderly loved ones. My grandmother also just told me she was already thinking about changing providers because they never call her or give her her results they have no communication & are very unprofessional. This is true, I witnessed it today, smiling laughing while I’m inquiring about the matter saying we always leave early on FRIDAY’S & we will today as well…

Devynne Morin I had an appointment for an MRI at 4PM. I was not informed to arrive 30 minutes prior so I arrived and got inside around 3:55P. The intake experience was not the best due to the office being closed and the receptionist not being friendly however once they walked me across the hall, Marisela(? older woman with short hair and glasses) was the absolute sweetest and helped to pass time and ease my worries. Gabriel was the technician who assisted me with my MRI and he was PHENOMENAL! He truly made me feel super comfortable and explained everything to me step by step so I could understand what was going on. Due to Gabriel and Marisela(?)s amazing customer service, they truly turned my experience around.

Laurinda Garcia Horrible place!!! My mother got admitted on a Monday night. Lady checking her vitals was on a personal phone call. She also attempted to throw medical supplies in the trash. She missed and just left it there. My mother rarely saw a doctor. I had to call the nurses station several times to find out what was going on with her care. Her second day there, she was misdiagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. Her room was very outdated and pipes would rattle when you turned on the sink and flushed the toilet. Several friends and family felt that they were dragging their feet and keeping my mother in the hospital longer than she needed to go. My mother also has Lupus, so any hospital stay is dangerous for her. Please do not let your love ones go to this hospital.

Tiffany Daniel DO NOT GO TO THIS ER!!!! I was admitted at 6pm on Friday 2/14/25 and had to walk out on my own accord at 3am!
The check-in nurses who did blood/medication/IV were so incredibly cruel and careless.
“Doctor” Dexter was MIA the majority of the time, when he did appear he would not listen to my cries of the pain medicine not working!!! He would not help me! He would just disappear for hours!!!! So when I would tell the nurse the pain won’t stop, she became very agitated with me.
I sat for 7 hours in the ER room full of sick people coughing, vomiting, and EATING!!! No private rooms were ever offered!
Whenever I told the nurses my pain wouldn’t stop, they told me to STOP asking them bc they ONLY follow the orders in the computer! They would not help me communicate with the doctor.
As soon as I saw the doctor talking to another patient… I told him the pain medicine is not working!!! he said “well that’s not good” and walked away. I was in shock.
I had to beg for status of my ct scan hour after hour which they told me to BE PATIENT and to stop asking! everyone else in the room was seen before me. No one cared I was in pain. I felt invisible. I felt forgotten. They would literally avoid eye contact and walk right past me as I was crying in pain.
They had to draw my blood TWICE bc the first batch got too old!!!!! The nurse LIED as she drew MORE blood and said the doctor needed MORE blood tests! The CT scan nurse told me my original blood got too old so she had to draw it again “Sorry for the delay”…
After my CT scan (6 hour wait..in pain! 2 blood extractions! IV! No pain relief) I was told results would come back in 1 hour. 2 hours later they had me do an ultrasound. Again, I told the nurse the pain will not stop! My doctor and nurses will not help me! She said she would rush the results & it would be done in 30 mins…
2 more hours passed! I was delirious. It’s 3am. No doctor in sight. The nurses continued to ignore me and my cries of pain. I became completely helpless. I had My husband come to the ER, he took my hand and escorted me out of HELL!
They never put me back in my own room. They kept about 30 of us in a room all together just “waiting” on the mercy of the doctors who were barely seen.
There was trash everywhere! No one ever wiped down chairs after someone had gone back for scans…They were doing I.V.’s out in the open!! There was no privacy! No sanitizing of any kind.
Truly the worst ER I’ve ever experienced. It felt like I was in a 3rd world country.
I had to go to another hospital to get pain relief for my stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis !
We will be getting an attorney and filing an investigation.
I’ve never experienced such a lack of empathy, a lack of healthcare, a lack of consideration for my well-being & my life! I am heartbroken. I am currently suffering with PTSD bc of this experience.
What makes me angry is I’m going to have to PAY for this “healthcare”. I’m going to have to PAY for being treated like I am meaningless & I don’t matter. I’m going to have to PAY for medicine that was not effective. I’m going to have to pay nurses and a “doctor” who did not provide healthcare.
DO NOT ENTER THIS HOSPITAL, you might not make it out alive.

Amanda West I absolutely LOVE Dr. Carter Smith! She is so personable and sweet. She cares about her clients and you can tell! Her nurse is also just as amazing! We recently moved to Spring and had to transfer to another Childrens and the hospitality is just not the same. I might be driving 45m - 1 hour just to see Dr. Carter Smith!

Angelica Zaragoza I wish I could give 0 stars for the horrible treatment my daughter received this morning. I made an appointment for my sick 17yr old daughter with Dr. Nieto who is not her regular pediatrician because her physician was booked. I was called by the practice manager and told that the physician was not comfortable seeing her and she should go to urgent care or see her OB for a fever and a sore throat. She said at her age she should really be seeing a family practice physician not a pediatrician. Also stated that she was late but couldnt say how late she was. Im disgusted with this practice. I am an employee of Texas Childrens and we have never turned away a sick child. I will never go back to this practice and would definitely not refer anyone to this practice after this experience. My daughter felt very uncomfortable and she said the front staff was very rude to her. My daughter left still sick and crying. How can you turn away a sick child?
Everyone there at that practice should know better and do better.

Lucia Moreno I was told by Chinelo Flores that I ask too many questions and her job is to diagnose and treat a patient. I should have called or emailed to have my questions answered. She told me that I took away from her seeing a sick patient. I am a new mom, and my child (2 yrs old) had been feeling miserable for two days (a sick patient) and in her visit to the ER last night with her father the notes said to follow up with doctor. An appointment was unavailable today with her local doctor. I misunderstood what it meant where it read “follow up with doctor”. Flores made it very clear to me what that meant. If I had known that my concerns/questions were going to be an inconvenience or cause frustration I would had never made the drive. Flores in a unprofessional manner (tone) addressed me my concerns/questions as stated in the beginning of this text. I had seen her prior to this appointment and she comes off very strong, cold and dry. Regardless, I viewed this being part of her personality but after today’s appointment and in the manner in which she addressed my concerns/questions there is no excuse for behaving this way. There is no kindness or compassion towards myself or my sick child. I am not a doctor but I am a human, and other than a doctor diagnosing and treating a patient I believe they should posses certain character traits such as compassion and kindness when addressing a patient or parent. My suggestion to make this a better experience specifically for Flores, is to practice kindness in how you address a parent or patient.

Alice Smith The wait was ridiculous, I was there 2 hours I saw the nurse practitioner for less than 15 minutes of that. I spent more time talking to the nurse, she was more thorough and listened better.
The Nurse practitioner (watta) was very dismissive of my issues that brought me into the office. She wrote In my summary that she talked to me about my weight because my BMI was high (Outdated system by the way) and she made suggestions to help me lose weight. She didnt bring up my weight even once. She basically wrote off all the issues Ive been having as me being "obese" even tho Im less than 10lbw over weight.
The lady who stuck my arm must have been new or bad at her job. She stuck me and I had blood coming from beside the needle thing while she was doing it. Ive had so many blood draws and never had that happen.

Alexis Ybarra Do not trust this place handling your children with love & care. I took my son in for follow up blood work & CYNTHIA DOMINGUEZ was VERY rough with my son. She didn’t know what she was doing & couldn’t get the amount of blood she needed. She repeatedly took the needle out of his arm & would stick it back in very rough & was visibly irritated that my son wasn’t happy & obviously screaming his head off. After being unsuccessful I told her to just stop because she was doing more harm then good & she proceeded to walk to the front desk & talk about how I was going to hurt my soon by picking up with the tourniquet still on his arm & “I understand he’s hurting but he’s already 12 months” in a condescending tone. As if my son’s age had anything to do with HER not being able to do HER job correctly. I WILL be contacting HR after speaking with the supervisor & filing a formal complaint. BEWARE OF CYNTHIA DOMINGUEZ

Sammy Gonzales I took my daughter to her appointment on Friday 2/20/2025 .
I explained to the provider all the symptoms my daughter was having like for example Vomiting, runny nose, coughing and really high fevers. Then the provider says that it’s just a “cold” and that she will be fine, it will go away. She doesn’t prescribe anything she just says keep giving her Tylenol. As soon as we get home from the appointment my daughter was having difficulty breathing so we rushed her to the emergency room where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. I can’t even fathom what would have happened to my daughter if I would of listened to that Provider when she said she will be “fine”.

Drew Dalton They dont have a place for you to wait in the ER. I had to wait in a crowded patient hallway all night while they ran tests. I felt bad for the patients as I was listening to them in the rooms in front of me all night, vomiting, screaming in pain etc. The building wasnt under construction or anything, thats just the way its set up I guess. Once I was admitted, it took 9 hours to get a room. I was still stuck in the hallway, constantly having to shift my legs to the side for the patients on stretchers to come by the entire time. I had to leave at one point during my stay to take care of a family matter at home. Upon my return, the staff told me I had to redo all the tests they did just hours prior, which took all night long. I was in pain, the results were in, the doctors knew the issue and what to do about it, but according to the "hospitals policy" apparently, because I didnt essentially hogtie myself to the bed the entire stay, they wanted me to re-live that nightmare for no logical reason whatsoever. Thats obscene. Its against the oath health care workers are supposed to take that says they are not to do any harm. Thats cruel and unusual punishment for nothing other than the crime of having a family to tend to while also taking care of my emergency situation. Luckily in this case, there was a nurse practitioner who overheard and stepped in to argue that we should skip spending hours redoing all the tests that she had the results for already on the clipboard in her hands. There was pushback from the staff to the nurse practitioner, but luckily again, she held her ground and said no, were not going to waste the hospitals resources and potentially do more harm to the patient by putting them through this again unnecessarily when we could be getting to the treatment they(me) require as quickly as we can. I ran into this issue again two days later, the day of my release from the hospital. Except this time, there was no doctor or nurse practitioner around with any common sense or human decency unfortunately, so the hospitals inhumane policy which goes against the healthcare oath and should be investigated, had the upper hand and prevented me from tending to my familys needs, lest I be forced to experience that entire weekend all over again for no reason other than, I suppose, making the hospital more money for days worth of double testing? Not sure. But luckily I was released by a doctor later that day and was able to take care of my familys needs. This was just an ER visit because of severe abdominal pain that persisted for 3 days, turned hospital admittance, resulting in an antibiotic prescription and scheduled procedure and follow up with a doctor. Thats it. Thats all it had to be. This wasnt a court ordered stay or punishment, which the hospitals staff/policy made it feel like. I hope I never have to step foot in this hospital again and I strongly suggest an investigation take place. I will look into who to contact to try and make sure that takes place. If you can avoid it, dont go to HCA Healthcare Houston Southeast in Pasadena

Juanita I was admitted to Oceans and after 6 days I was shown a court order stating I had to stay until Doctor released me. I asked for a copy and was given the run around for over 24 hours before I received copy. It was after I received copy of the order I found out I had been assigned a lawyer. I asked to use the phone and was denied. I informed them it was against the law to keep me from speaking to my lawyer. When I was able to call the lawyer, they told me to hurry up and get off the phone. I was not informed of a court order and an assigned lawyer until after I was there for 6 days. I only saw Dr Sigiqqi 2 times while I was there. The first time was a 3 minute conversation in which he diagnosed me with something other than what my psychiatrist of over 20 years diagnosed me with. He then changed my medication without consulting my regular psychiatrist of 20 years. I was kept heavily medicated and never received any kind of real therapy, just group therapy which consisted of coloring and watching TV. I needed assistance with showering due to a broken foot and no one was able to help me. I went 10 days with no shower. They didnt care if you did not shower, brush teeth or brush hair. The hair brush they gave me was so bad I could not get it to brush my hair, so I had severely matted up hair for the entire time I was there. I begged for them to just cut off my hair. The meals were awful. I told them I was vegetarian and they actually called a family member to see if I was being truthful. Dont know why I would lie about that but OK. Family member confirmed I was indeed vegetarian and I was served the most disgusting food imaginable. They check your food boxes to see if you eat and I was forced to eat things I did not want or knew I should not eat due to having diabetes. The food was very very carb heavy. If blood sugar went too high they would just give you a shot of insulin. My diabetes was well controlled until I went to Oceans and was forced to eat so much carbs. I had never had to take insulin until then. The majority of the staff treated the patients like animals with the exception of 1 or 2 staff members. I was due to be released at 8 am after a 10 day stay and asked if I could just go home after dinner since my family would be there for a visit. I was denied to go home and they made me wait until the morning. I guess they wanted that one last day of insurance money. They also kept my pain medication and sent me home with a broken foot and no pain medication. I could not get more from my regular doctor due to DEA rules of only having one prescription for pain medication once a month. I reported this to the DEA. If you are seeking help, I do not recommend going here as they will milk your insurance for as much as they can and will get a court order to keep you there even if you are compliant, non violent and do everything you are told to do. My family was so upset when they visited me because I was kept so heavily medicated I was slurring my words and could hardly stay awake. One time my roommate was having some sort of episode in the middle of the night and I woke up to her standing over me. I was scared to death. I went and told the nurse and she gave the roommate a shot to make her sleep and told me to go back to the room and go back to sleep. I told her I was too scared and she told me they would keep me longer for noncompliance so I went back to the room and laid in bed, eyes wide open all night due to not knowing what would happen with the roommate. This place is nothing more than an insurance money grab and controlling you. You will never receive any real therapy, will be forced to stay, forced to eat things that go against your dietary restrictions, kept heavily medicated and treated like less than the human that you are. I will never go back. I will never reach out for help again. This place has me too scared to reach out for help ever again. They will strip you of all your rights and dignity and hold you until the insurance money runs out. I have much more to say but Google limits

Brian This is my experience as someones loved one was held by the corrupt hospital. When you first get in the door you are greeted by a rude and very curt receptionist who rattles a list of rules you must follow one of which is no keys they want you to put them in a basket and the other is no phone also have to put in a basket and the reason they dont want you to have your phone is so you cant take photos of your dishelved and very over medicated loved one. Mine was almost in a catatonic state very day i went to see her and when i questioned them all they said was it was non narcotic and did not explain why she was so catatonic everytime. They also set medical tests at the same time as visitation times. They also refused to give me a copy of the judges order for her to be held because when i finally got a copy of it i found that they have employees willing to lie on affidavits to keep them in there so they can keep billing the insurance company. They had her in a wheelchair way to big for her with no foot rest to put her feet on. This place does not does not care about anyones loved ones they only care to get as much money out of your insurance company as they can and when the insurance wont cover anymore you are suprisingly well enough to be released.

Doroteo Ruiz GI I believe the experience for each patient and their family members will be different. For my dad, his stay and treatment at Oceans were exceptional. He was admitted to their facility on December 7 due to aggression stemming from dementia and Alzheimers. I was very apprehensive, as this was the second behavioral hospital he had been to—the previous hospital left him unable to walk or talk.
Oceans, however, did an amazing job. It was such a blessing to visit my dad and see him walking and talking again. He was discharged on December 30, and since then, he has been doing so much better. While he is not 100% due to his illness, seeing him walking, talking, eating, and holding conversations is indescribable. The staff at Oceans went above and beyond, and we are incredibly grateful for their efforts in adjusting his medication thoughtfully. They avoided overmedicating or restraining him, which had been our previous experience.
I also want to thank Finiy John for doing an excellent job of communicating and keeping me informed. He took the time to listen to my concerns and reassured me about my dad’s care. With my dad’s condition, I know medication adjustments will be necessary in the future, and when that time comes, I hope he can return to Oceans for treatment.
That said, there are areas where Oceans can improve:
Admission Communication: Please notify families or the Power of Attorney (POA) immediately when a patient is admitted. It’s challenging for families not to receive updates after a loved one is transported. Even an automated text confirming the patients arrival would be helpful. In my case, I had to call multiple times to get updates, which was stressful.
Discharge Process: Similarly, better communication during discharge would make a significant difference. Families need a clear timeline when the patient is leaving the facility. In my case, I had to call multiple times to get updates, which was stressful.
Clothing Management: My dad left the nursing home in his slippers and one outfit. I brought two additional sets of clothes to Oceans, as the limit is three. However, he was discharged with clothes that weren’t his, and his slippers were never returned. Better clothing management would help avoid such issues.
Visiting Hours: Expanding or adjusting visiting hours to better accommodate working families would be greatly appreciated. The current Monday–Friday slots of 3–4 PM and 4–5 PM are difficult for those with traditional work schedules. While I understand the need for structure, more flexible visiting hours would mean a lot to families who want to spend time with their loved ones.
Overall, I highly recommend Oceans and hope your experience will be as positive as ours.

Marsha Armstrong My recent experience with Oceans Behavioral Hospital in Pasadena, Texas, following my brothers transport and admission on November 16, 2024, has been deeply concerning. My brother, who has dementia, was sent to your facility after an incident at Richard A. Anderson Texas State Veterans Home in Houston.
On November 17, while my other brother and I were en route to visit him at Richard A. Anderson, we were informed by his daughter—who was leaving the country for a week—that he had been transported to your hospital for observation. This left us scrambling to piece together information during an already stressful time.
Upon arrival at Richard A. Anderson, the staff appeared unaware of the transfer, and leadership was unavailable to provide clarity on the events leading up to his admission to Oceans Behavioral Hospital. Staff on-site informed us that another resident, with a history of behavioral issues, had verbally assaulted my brother with racial slurs, leading to a physical altercation. While both individuals were transferred to Oceans for psychiatric evaluation as per policy, I was deeply troubled by the lack of preparedness to communicate with family members about the situation.
**Experience at Oceans Behavioral Hospital**
On Sunday, I contacted Oceans Behavioral Hospital and was informed that visitation was not allowed on weekends. This was extremely frustrating, especially after traveling 3.5 hours. I returned on Tuesday during designated visitation hours, only to encounter a series of unwelcoming and disappointing experiences:
1. **Reception Staff**: The receptionist’s demeanor was unprofessional and rude. Rather than greeting me, I was immediately subjected to a list of rules in a curt tone. This added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation.
2. **Visitation Restrictions**: I was required to leave personal belongings, including my phone, smartwatch, and food items I brought for my brother, making the visit less personal and meaningful.
3. **Shared Visitation Space**: The visitation took place in a shared conference room with other patients and families, lacking any privacy or opportunity for meaningful connection.
4. **Inadequate Equipment**: My brother was wheeled into the room in an improperly sized wheelchair, forcing him to stick his legs out to prevent his feet from dragging on the floor.
5. **Interaction with Patient Advocate**: When I raised concerns about my brother’s medicated state and the possibility of PTSD following the incident at Richard A. Anderson, I felt dismissed by the patient advocate. His explanation—that my brother was being monitored and medicated as necessary—was insufficient and failed to address my concerns or outline a clear plan for my brother’s care.
Prior to his transfer from the Dallas VA hospital to Richard A. Anderson, my brother had been medication-free for over eight months, cheerful, and excited about returning to his home. Seeing him in a medicated state with no clear plan for his well-being was alarming and unacceptable.
**Recommendations for Improvement**
I strongly urge both Oceans Behavioral Hospital to:
- Improve communication and transparency with families during admissions and transfers.
- Review visitation protocols to ensure they accommodate the emotional needs of families and patients.
- Provide staff training to improve professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure patients are equipped with properly fitted mobility aids and other necessary accommodations.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Oceans Behavioral Hospital and hope this feedback prompts necessary changes to better serve patients and their families.

We didn’t feel like just another patient filtering through in comparison to many other medical facilities. I’m very grateful for everyone here. ❤️

Donna Dresch It was not a positive experience. I had to urinate and they handed me a bed pan and walked away. Leaving in my state of mind without assistance. I pissed myself, twice. No one offered to clean me. The staff was disrespectful. I was out of it for the rest of ER.

Ray Borrego Sr. I was taken into the ER by ambulance after a fall. Everyone in the ER was great, they took very good care of me and even asked my wife if she was OK also. After I was admitted the doctors and nurses also looked after me like my Mom would. They were attentive and personable. I was told what happened to me and what they were going to do to make me get better. I would highly recommend this ER and Hospital to anyone needing attention.

Marc Duncan I will leave good reviews when warranted and will do the same for a negative experience. I have been coming here for several years and dont normally have a problem. I had an appointment for 11:15am to get my results for some lab work I had done 2 weeks prior. I was called back to at 11:20am. The nurse assistant took my weight and blood pressure as normal and put me in room 1. I checked the time on my phone to see how long it would take to get my lab results numbers and at 12:14 the nurse practitioner came in and first thing she said was an apology for the wait. 50 minutes it took of waiting for something that took her 2 minutes to read off the paper. Unacceptable!! They werent busy with a lot of patients and this 2 minute visit shouldnt have taken 50 minutes!

Abbey Burn I cannot say anything but good things about the Pasadena Health Center! Their staff are all incredibly kind and helpful, and they were even able to get me an appointment for the next day. I waited less than 10 minutes for my appointment after filling out my new patient forms and the front desk was very understanding and informative about my payment options. The nurse who took me back to the room and did my intake (I don’t want to post her full name but want to give her kudos, her last name starts with “J”) was so sweet and amazing at administering shots! The doctor fee was very reasonable as well. I truly received phenomenal service and will definitely be coming back for my future medical needs!

Romeo Guerra They’re rude, never answer the phone. When you go in there’s about 3-4 receptionists asking you the same question because they do not have any communication skills. Dolores from pharmacy is RUDE. She did not want to transfer me to make an appointment because “that’s not her department” over all a horrible clinic not sure how it’s still standing. If you don’t like your career you can easily change it. Because customer care is definitely missed in this establishment. Not to mention not even the Dr.’s last. One day you go an see a dr. On your next visit the dr left to another clinic I wonder why.

Samantha Gongora The dental staff is inadequate and I highly doubt to come here if you are looking to be billed correctly. They wouldn’t accept me after I told them their office is in network with my insurance. They even admitted that the prior patient to me had to pay out of pocket cuz when they ran his insurance it wasn’t in network but they did it anyways. I called and even showed them on my insurance app and they still wouldn’t accept me. Waste of time I don’t have trying to get my teeth checked out. Can’t imagine what the doctor is like.

bthepisces This clinic is extremely disrespectful to customers time, they set appointments way before doctors are even scheduled to show up. We waited for over 50 minutes to be seen without an apology or acknowledgment of the situation. Absolutely do not recommend this place.

Mrs. Wendy From the moment I spoke to them on the phone I knew there was going to be in issue after they gave me a different time for my appointment and I missed it had to reschedule. I was interested in bringing my kids to this clinic and making it their primary doctor but no more. From the very moment I walked in they were already trying to reschedule me because I didnt have my paperwork printed in hand. I said no I will have their last doctor fax it to them while I fill out forms and it was automatically an issue. After waiting and them continuing to try and reschedule me I was told that I had to have those papers by 4 not to mention they close at 5. They really were not trying to help and made it very difficult so I decided to take my business elsewhere.

Adriana Meza Ive been taking my children to the Pediatric Medical Center at Burke for about 3 years now. Dr. Thomas is great with kids; pediatrics is truly her calling. The staff have always been very helpful, kind and knowledgeable. I have never had an issue with wait times issues with scheduling. I will continue to take my kids there as long as I can.

Amanda Flores I give Dr. Patels office no stars but I had to put at least 1! Not the doctor himself but his front desk staff! I made an appointment the day of 02/23/24 scheduled today 02/29/24 @ 12:15pm for my mother in law with her next to me via telephone due to having high cholesterol to review further. My mother in law comes in today and was turned away stating appointment was not today and not until allegedly 03/24/24 over telephone. I am so upset as to why they would change her appointment and act like we should have known and say they never made an appointment on the day we called. Its very frustrating they would handle a patient this way. The front desk girl who failed to provide me a name put me on hold and for a Michelle to get on the line trying to assist but Im furious my mother in law was handled this way. The front desk girls totally let my mother in law down. Results should be given by the doctor and not by the front desk. I have requested to speak with the doctor in person and scheduled for Monday, 03/04/24. Lets hope we get something taken care of.

Me,myself and I ?????? I have been a patient of Dr.Patel for ten plus years. Me and several family members are his patients . Dr Patel and his office manager Suzanna keeps things running smoothly. Julie, Michelle and Victoria take care of us in the front and they actually do care about their patients. Now the Phlebotomy tech Ozella is always super gentle with me overly and I am a super hard stick … I recommend this Dr a million times over… Knowledgeable and professional at all times.. I seen a few bad reviews due to wait times but what good dr don’t have a wait time…. He is a busy dr but he takes his time with each patient …

Helen Freeman His staff excluding the.one.who.answers the phone. I have breast cancer and its.been hard finding all my doctors that practice out of bayshore plus who excepts my ins. He has a assistant that does the referrals who will not take time to even do it when my insurance company has even .tried. . I think she has no compation or empathy. I have cancer shes playing with my life. It doesnt matter how many referrals Ive had its her job regardless. And I have the right to choose a.Dr who is a specialist with breast cancer and performing a double mysectomy and reconstructive. Dont remember her name Im sure Im not the only one shes treated this way Im sure. She shouldnt be working in a drs office. I will probably die now when I post this. She will never do the last referral I requested now.

Gisela Garza Horrible front office staff. Very rude and its their way or the highway. Had an appt with a PPO insurance and they denied to see me just because they were not listed on insurance card. This is ridiculous when she had an appt to see Dr. Danielle Garcia.

ANNETTE MARROQUIN Doctors there are extremely kind and knowledgeable.. very unfortunate that the staff makes the clinic look bad.. called the clinic and I was simply questioning why they had all my incorrect information on file Eduardo started yelling at me and hung up on me.. Eduardo if you want to be spoken to kindly and with respect you have to treat people in such way.. especially because you work in customer service don’t forget that you have food on your table and a roof over your head because of paying patients like me and everyone else

Cindy Torres I had gone into the emergency room for shortness of breath and shaking hands. I waited what seemed like 20 mins before the nurse called me in to check my vitals.
The nurse -Rob- I believe was great and sweet. As I sat in the waiting room some more I asked to have something for the bad heartburn I was having. They didn’t give me anything. I did the X-ray test and than sat in the waiting room for what felt like 2 hours still with heartburn.
I got called in back the nurse station. All my labs came back fine. They discharged me with nothing, no prescription no meds, just the tums I had requested hours prior.
A man had been sitting in the waiting room with a IV and fluid bag since 12noon.
I will never go back to this ER again. I do NOT recommend it.
I left felling worse than when I got there.
