(21) Reviews Baros Larry W MD:

Ricardo Rivas Dr Baros is the best. He listens to his patients and does a detailed examination when you are in for a visit. I was able to see him, not a NP, today without very much hassle. He is my primary doctor as of today.

K Joel (us1415) I went to the practice for the first time today. The first impression was amazing since the staff greeted me properly and I was able to see the Dr. Larry as a new patient pretty quick. Dr. Larry is amazing. He took his time listening to me and gave me some good advise. I am looking forward to keeping Dr. Larry as my PCP for as long as I live in San Antonio.
5 /5
Rick Cioppa Best GP Ive ever encountered. Larry is through, focused and attentive. He listens to what I have to say, he asks appropriate questions and spends as much time as necessary diagnosing my issues. The staff is great, warm and inviting and I can always get into see Larry when needed. I would give him 6 stars if available.

Eddie I have known Dr. Jimmy for over 25 years. He was my kids first and only Dr all the way thru school. I continue to go as both Dr. Jimmy and his brother Dr. Larry are great people. Their dad taught them well and they do a great job. I highly recommend them if you need a great family Dr.

(5) Reviews Ramin Poursani, MD:

Britt Davis worse doctor ever! This man knew nothing, about anything medical. If he doesnt know what your problem is, he doesnt test you to find out neither. If you are in constant pain like I am, for my condition he acts as if he cant do anything to help you. So if you have something serious, that you need special care I strong advise you not to see this doctor. In his words. "google it. You might be better off."

(2352) Reviews Methodist Hospital Metropolitan:

Theresa Peery They told me to arrive at 7am for surgery. I have been sitting in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hours with no update from the nursing staff. There are multiple other people here waiting to see the same surgeon as me. So God only knows when I will actually be taken back. I get VERY anxious before surgery and just sitting here for hours is NOT helping. This is the most unprofessional, shit show of a hospital that I have ever been to. I have had several other surgeries and have NEVER experienced anything like this. I absolutely do NOT recommend Metropolitan Methodist Hospital. I’m furious right now.

deb donais Nurse Kelly was awesome! She called and we did the preop questions and she took great care of me on the day of my surgery. I have no complaints I was probably the best experience Ive had. Thanks the Nurse Kelly..

Sylvia Ann Rodriguez The registration was very easy and my procedure went well. All the staff were great! The only reason I cannot give a five star rating is because of the restroom in the holding room. Since the restroom is for both male and females, there was urine on the floors. Some of the urine was dry, letting me know that it had been there awhile. Wish there were separate restrooms for each sex or at least have restroom cleaned more frequently.

ROSEANN RODRIGUEZ Worst hospital ever never again I brought my sister to the emergency room in a lot of pain in the center of her stomach and having chest pain her blood pressure is high they put her in the hallway to draw blood and put a iv on her just to put her in lobby cuz there’s no beds available let me add while she in the hallway crying in lots of pain the nurses and doctors just pass her by then I asked the doctor why their putting my sister in the lobby he said there’s no beds. Available right now and as soon as there’s a room available they’ll come and get her while I was walking away I heard tell a nurse it is what it is.

pearl Auces My mother washing in the er this Saturday and it was very dirty. They never changed out the suction cup that was there before us the floor was not moped and their was just so many things wrong. I’m a team leader at University Hospital in the EVS and they lady never used her evs cart she just had her trash can. The bathrooms were the dirtiest I’ve ever seen. Just look at the dust that is on where you lay a baby to change them and she never used a Johnny mop or caddy to clean the restroom. It was still left with hair and a strip that says it was clean and she just got the trash out and left the same bag. Never used any mopping chemicals not all hospital are the same but coming from working in the evs over 16 years this is not what is supposed to be like we were their over 8 hours and she never came to mop the room we were in as well I have reached out to the management in the evs department but this needs to be fixed per joint commission

Aaliyah Martinez Dr. Melvin is awesome! She listens to every concern you have & tries to find a solution. The front staff is always friendly. When I show up to my appointments I’m always seen within 10 mins of waiting.
5 /5
Brittany Taylor Dr Wagner took great care of me throughout my high risk pregnancy. His nurses and staff were always so sweet. I never had to wait in the lobby for longer than 5-10 minutes. I’d highly recommend this clinic and doctor to anyone with “high risk” pregnancies. He is the best!
5 /5
veronica pady Every time I’ve came to this clinic it takes pretty much 3 hours weather their be people in the lobby or not . These appointments will take your whole day. So make sure you don’t have any other appointments on that day , you won’t make it. Other then it being so time consuming the doctors & staff are very kind.

Stephanie Marie They are not Considerate of days that you are available to come in and see the doctor. I work 40 hours a week and they do not care. The lady who is in charge of working with me is just completely unpleasant. I dred speaking with her every time she calles because of how rude she is. I dont look forward to going into office either they say it will only be so long and i end up being there all day. We currently only have one vehicle so of course if would help if they could keep visits down to a minimum.

ashley marie 0 STARS! My mom sees Dr. Reddy and she had to wear a heart monitor to track her heart palpitations. Next step was to mail in the heart monitor for the results and the clinic says they "lost the results" this was told when she came into the appt for the heart monitor results 1.they didnt even know what she was coming in for and 2.they make my mom come in for no reason. Please prep your charts the day before to see why patients are coming in and do not waste peoples time ! This clinic is UNBELIEVABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE. This is a HEART DOCTOR. Nothing is even done about my mom’s heart palpitations. They keep increasing her Blood pressure meds for no reason. of course her BP will be HIGH that day yall lost her RESULTS and wasted HER TIME.

Ruby Contreras Beyond grateful for the WONDERFUL care Dr. Wu and has team have provided for my grandmother. She has had two procedures so far and is waiting on one more. Both times the team was right on time and Raul explained everything to us thoroughly. He allowed me to be with grandmother so she wouldn’t be afraid and went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable. Thank you so much for the excellent care.

Shannon Fairchild Dr Wu has saved my husband many times. People sometimes complain about wait time - but in all honesty people have had to wait because Dr Wu took my husband to emergency surgery (immediately stopped all visits and had my husband on the table very quickly) not to mention he has saved his life - he took the pain away quickly - our family loves Dr Wu and his nurse Adrian very much. Please always pray for this wonderful Doctor who works about 15 plus hours a day just because he loves everyone. God bless you and your staff SIR!!!

Lionheart Roar A visit to Dr. Wus clinic means a longer wait because he is in high demand. He is a highly skilled specialist who is exceptionally kind and welcoming. He is also a great listener and he answers questions without hesitation. I recently had extensive cardio testing done and interacted with several technical staff members/nurses who conducted stress tests, echo test, imaging, etc. All of them were friendly and attentive to my needs as a patient. Yes, the wait is longer - but the best things (and doctors), are worth waiting for.

Edward Mclean Finding a good doctor let alone a great staff is hard to do. I would not go anywhere else for my personal medical care, I have complete faith in the staff and I would not take my family anywhere else and I would gladly recommend them to anyone. I want to personally thank Dr.Wu, Mrs.WU and the entire staff, for being hardworking, caring, honest and always treating my family and I like family. Credit is deserved where credit is due.

(66) Reviews The START Center for Cancer Care:

Sara McCumba I had a great experience! Daniel was very helpful. He did a great job starting my IV for contrast administration. I have small veins so sometimes the nurses have trouble finding my veins but he was able to get it on the first try! I was very happy. He explained everything that was going to be done and took great care of me!
5 /5
Tootrue Start Center provides complacent care. The doctors are nice but incompetent and passive. They don’t stand up to insurance companies and they don’t fight for patients.

Tony Phelps After a recent surgery, Dr Harb came into the room at the hospital, introduced himself, and gave us a business card. Requested that we make a follow up appointment after discharge. We did not since an oncologist was not needed. We did get a bill for $588. No idea if they are good medical providers but their insurance claims and billing are lightning fast.

Samuel Garcia Called over the phone, who ever is the receptionist. Was really rude, im not sure if she was having a bad day or what. Very unprofessional.

Pamela Round I had a very rare pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor called an Insulinoma. Only 6 to 10 people per million get this each year. The surgery for this is difficult and I was encouraged from different sources to go to MD Anderson in Houston or Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I choose to stay in San Antonio instead. There are numerous complications from this surgery and I was concerned about needing to travel back and forth to Houston or Rochester. I am so glad I made this decision. The START Center and all the doctors I was referred to here were outstanding. I would like to say a huge thank you to the numerous doctors that healed me including my endocrinologist Dr. Michelle Welch, my oncologist Dr. Scott Ulmer, my surgeon Dr. Steven Abbate, my interventional radiologist Dr. Hosam Attaya, and my gastroenterologists Dr. Michael Piesman and Dr. Alejandro Pruitt. All of these doctors played an instrumental role in healing me. I was suffering from this tumor for 6-7 years before these doctors got involved. As a result of the tumor, I experienced hypoglycemia in the low 40s each night. I had to eat every 2 to 3 hours and gained weight. I would only drive for 30 minutes due to issues with low blood sugar. I couldn’t exercise due to blood sugar dropping. I couldn’t travel because then I was dependent on restaurants and had issues with blood sugar dropping if not served promptly. But now, as a result of these wonderful doctors I am completely healed and have my life back. I can diet and have lost 18 pounds. I can exercise, drive long distances, and travel. Many miracles have occurred in my life due to these awesome doctors and of course the very best doctor of all My Lord. I am so glad I stayed locally and didn’t travel to MD Anderson Houston or Mayo Clinic Rochester. I am confident I received the very best treatment here locally and conveniently. Thanks to all for giving me my life back!

Trisha maciel Poor service, emergency room blood all on the floor n on the seats. No comes out to check emergency if cleaning needed until janitor is called. And when they come they dont pick up trash or any bandages with blood. Horrible

Gabriel Reyes Thank God for Nancy! I was really nervous about getting blood drawn. The whole time she time she made it a peaceful experience, which is really good because I have bad anxiety. She even lightened the mood with harmless joking. I literally didn’t even feel the needle go in. 5stars to Nurse Nancy! May god bless her and the staff they were all so nice and accommodating and patient.

Cynthia Calderon I was transferred here for a emergency apendix removal I was on the 8th floor 12/30/2024 the night nurses were really nice and sweet made sure my pain was well controlled and the MA there were also really nice. The day nurse on the other hand was rude acted like she was the only one doing her job and would frequently forget me then would blame every one else for her actions. Overall my stay was good. I dreaded being there during the day.

(51) Reviews Pea in the Pod OB GYN Associates:

DB Kennedy UNETHICAL. Tells women they have to be married for 5+ years to be eligible for an IUD, and has denied women IUDs who want one based on this. This is absolutely not the case. Anyone who wants an IUD can get one. It doesnt matter how many partners you have or how long you have been in a relationship. This is unethical. His license should be revoked for discrimination against unmarried women and women who have multiple partners.

Alexis Amos Today I thought the tears cried would be from possibly hearing my babies heartbeat on my first sonogram but instead its tears from a failed second attempt of finding a good ob/gyn office in San Antonio, Texas. My appointment was at 10am, arrived at 940am, they didnt tell me nor were there signs saying they only accepted cash/checks so we had to walk down the street to an atm, and then I watched 3 people who got there after me go before me. After 1.5 hours I took a urine test and after another 45 minutes my vitals were taken and I was put in a room. By 1245pm the Dr still had not seen me and my bf was already an hour late for work so I got my money back and left. On top of that I had to pay $20 for parking since I was there for over 3 hours.. (only paid parking is available at this office) I was a new patient but was literally only there for a sonogram since they had all my info from another Dr I went to 2 weeks ago. I was recommended Dr. Chen by 2 close friends who are also registered nurses so I trusted their opinions, but after reading the reviews I see people either have a 5 star experience or a 1 star. Chloe the receptionist was helpful and kind but everyone else I met there lacks professionalism.
1 /5
Dominique I have been coming to see Dr Chen since 2021 and he was amazing with both of my pregnancies. His staff are also professional and kind over the phone. Even though the wait times can take quite some time, he is still the best obgyn doctor and knows what he is doing. His personality is always hilarious and takes my health serious even after I had both of my children.
5 /5
Mr SA Very knowledgeable. Doctor Chen has delivered 2 beautiful babies (HIGH risk) for us - Thank you ! Doctor Chen will Not sugar coat anything, so he is not for snowflakes ! If he’s late to the office, duh -he delivers babies, which come out when they need to! Dr Chen 10 Stars. Thanks for Everything Dr. ! And I know for a fact he works with “certain “ mothers with some certain needs. So before putting him down, look in the mirror !

9.Akonye Angela MD

Address: Children’s Hospital, 315 N San Saba #1068, San Antonio, TX 78207

(33) Reviews Akonye Angela MD:

Nicole Morris My first visit was great. I arrived early and had minimal wait time to be taken into the back. The Dr. Was running behind due to the delivery of a baby, but the staff was very apologetic and gave me a choice to wait or reschedule, and I chose to wait. Once she arrived, the communication with Dr. Akonye was amazing, she listened to my concerns and we made a plan that works for me. I felt like a person that was heard and understood and not a number to meet a quota. I highly recommend making an appointment with her.
5 /5
Lisa Bianchini Dr. Akonye herself was overall “fine” I suppose. Saw me for maybe 2 minutes. Didn’t do a breast exam or ask any overall health questions. Waited 2 hours in the waiting room. Since then, every 3 months it has been a nightmare to have my birth control prescription refilled. It is either never approved or I have to call and call to get it refilled when it’s supposedly automated. Never had such a problem with a reoccurring prescription before. Don’t go to this practice, not worth it.

anca nicodim Cut your belly open! That is what Dr Akonye said to me referring to a c-section of course. Had me on the wrong treatment for months which made me chronically anemic from severe bleeding. Missed a huge 9cm fibroid for months while under her care. They never check on their patients. Oh and the clinic! The staff at the front desk are so rude! Gave me the wrong pee cup with someone else name. They do not know what they are doing and it’s frightening! They also charged me incorrectly and had to call insurance so they can reimburse. I left The place running and scared! I would have been still suffering or worse had I stayed With Dr Akonye! Malpraxis and no bedside manners! She had no compassion and said she doesn’t know how to treat me?! A doctor?! It was a fibroid they missed! Also place is dirty inside the bathrooms. Hope admin reads this but probably not! Contact me if you do!

Alexandra Calloway This is a bit delayed, but here we are. I had a single appointment with Dr. Akonye for an annual preventative exam about a year ago. I was in a new city, trying to find new doctors, you know the drill. There were three other students in the room, which is great because I am all for learning; however, the only thing I remember from the appointment that has stayed with me was that Dr. Akonye commented on my ingrown hairs as my legs were spread open with four sets of eyes on me in the room. It was embarrassing, unprofessional, and made an already vulnerable experience 10x more so. I have moved since then, but if I were in the same city I would not be seen by her again.

christina martinez This is for the Westover Hills Women’s Center location. Dr. Is considered Specialist OBGYN so they will charge you for the specialist fee on your insurance , I paid $200 out of pocket when I expected to pay at most $70. A week later, I had to call about my Lab results and ask what the follow up was and I had to ask them to send me medication for my results. I did not receive not one phone call from my doctor about my results or what they meant. This was my first pregnancy and it was considered a high risk, Dr. Akonye asked me if I had questions I told her I didn’t know what to ask, she told me to bring in questions next time and that was the end of our appointment. I wanted to fax all my documents to a new OBGYN ASAP so I went in person to sign a medical release form and requested they FAXED all my documents to the new OBGYN ASAP that day, I called my new doctor and they still hadn’t received my information, I called again and they told me it would be sent over the next morning. I called this morning and STILL not a single thing was faxed over, I called one more time and this time they said all PA’s are busy and would call me later, but usually it takes 5 to 7 days to get my paper work FAXED. NOT ONE single staff had explained how it would take 5-7 days to FAX over information the 3 times I contacted them, it took me 4 different times for them to say this to me. Overall horrible experience, would not recommend this place for first time moms . Save some money, go to a OBGYN that also practices primary care. I promise you this experience has been unnecessary stress I did not need.

Lydia Gonzalez I’ve been wanting to write this review for a few months already. I’ve been here many times for sick visits and honestly, I always have wonderful service. I have to also share that my friend mentioned to me that she was very impressed with one of the young men there. She said his name was Jesus Aguillon. She stated that she had to get her blood drawn, but the nurse couldn’t get her. She has always been hard for the nurses to get her veins so they end up poking her in the hand. She said the nurse brought over this young man in wine colored scrubs to try and he got her in her arm on the first try!! She kept gushing about him. She also said he was very pleasant and had wonderful customer service. Thank you so much Jesus Aguillon for making my friend feel very comfortable and giving her wonderful service. I truly appreciate you. God bless you. UH, make sure to take care of this young man, it seems he’s one of the good ones.

Angie Cruz Personally I had a great experience. The staff was very knowledgeable, attentive, caring and reassuring. I recently had surgery and my nerves got the best of me, but meeting with all the doctors and nurses eased them. The bedside manners from the nurses were amazing. Thank you for a great and comfortable experience.

Marcie ONeil I don’t understand why it takes well over 2 hours to wait after a baby has eye drops put in to get the eye exam done. The wait time is horrendous at this place in Pediatric Ophthalmology. I felt very frustrated at the end and my children were over being patient. I understand they give you a “Hey you could be here for up to 4 hours.” Wow do they literally mean it and it makes zero sense. It seems like the staff moves very slow and lack customer service skills. Extremely disappointed. The healthcare system is truly broken.

T. Darnice Houston My mother was seen there this past week. I learned this weekend that she was dropped on a gurney by three staff members as they were transferring here between gurneys. I also learned from my mother, who by the way is 73-freaking years old, that these three staff members laughed and joked about not being able to move her AND dropping here. Needless to say, once I make my phone calls tomorrow I pray those staff members are terminated, or my mother who now has severe lower back pain will have one hell of a lawyer who will be instructed by me to work to have EVERYONE terminated!

Jim Cliffe I just returned from having 3 procedures done at Star Vascular and could not be more delighted and impressed with the combination of professionalism and compassion shown by everyone. Ive had 12 surgeries or procedures in the last year and rate my experience today at the very top from all aspects. I think today was typical with lots of patients, lots of demands on staff but I was in and out in 2 hours which included recovery time and believe it could not have been done more efficiently anywhere. P.S. I dont do surveys or write reviews but am so appreciative for my treatment today I felt compelled to tell someone.

DT23J Doctor Gee has delivered all 5 of my babies. My oldest is 17 and my youngest are 3yo twin boys. I would never want anyone else. I used to think Dr. Gee was mean during 1st few visits of my 1st pregnancy but shes just really serious about her job. I never got the sense that she didnt care. I came to love and respect her as a professional.
5 /5
Aryel M Dr. Gee is simply amazing! This is my first pregnancy and Im currently 38 weeks pregnant. I couldnt have chosen a better OB! Dr. Gee will spend as much time with you as you need and is never rushed during her visits with you. She will answer any questions you have and will explain things until you understand. Discussing the labor process and birth plan, I feel very confident and safe in her care. On the downside, wait time can range anywhere from 1- 2 1/2 hours, but this is due to the time she invests in her patients. The waiting room is a little unclean, and many of the patients are ghetto. Loving and Living I recently had 3 surgeries in one month and was told that if everything was ok my primary doctor would let me know and if he was correct about my diagnosis that I would receive a call from the office. My home nurse was here at my residence and we missed the call. I called back and spoke with the RUDEST individual that I have ever come in contact with. Because I have a very long name at times they dont have it correct. I only asked her if she could look it up a different way. She then said that I wasnt a patient and not at all in the system so she couldnt do anything for me. I then politely asked if I could speak with someone else and was asked who I advised her that I would like to speak with an office manager and she stated that they have over forty physicians and wouldnt go any further. I asked once again to speak with someone else and she literally hung up the phone in my face. I tried calling back and she hung up on me again. What she doesnt know is that my sister is ALSO a physician as well. And we WILL have a conversation with the physicians in this practice. If it happened to me ( a medical professional) it could easily happen to someone else. Our healthcare system is flawed because of individuals like this. I didnt call McDonalds I called an oncology office. Let that sink in.

Jenny Pawlak Im not even positive I had cancer! I went to stric for a biopsy which was the most excruciating pain Ive ever had and they said I was positive, had surgery on my neck and the ENT said not a trace of cancer cells, so when I went to ST oncology, they assured me they I did have cancer! Well, the first question I had was "Are my teeth going to be ok"? Dr. Suzuki assured me yes.Dr. Aluri is aloof and doesnt listen to what you have to say, hes only good for prescriptions. Well, needless to say,I was a happy person prior to Chemo/Radiation, a year to the day Ive had neuropathy,a bleeding ulcer, full historectomy and almost full teeth loss so before you trust them, make sure there is no alternate! Im 60 and really took care of my teeth, the oncology wants their money but are they going to pay for all my dental work!!! Im so sad, distraut, angry! Never felt as o much animosity in my entire life!

Caroline Smith My husband started going to Dr. Asti about 6 months ago and it has been a nightmare ever since. The office NEVER returns his calls (after he called them 12 times in one day) It is impossible to get anyone to call you back. Then today, he went to his appointment, only to be told they dont have him down for an appointment today! We live an hour away and he went all the way over there for nothing. So done with this provider and their HORRIBLE office staff!!

Nisa Nunes Went to the emergency room and the restrooms were so dirty. Idk how they allow children to use these restrooms. I also don’t see why they don’t have a diaper genie or something to contain the smell of the diapers if they are not going to take out the trash frequently. I told the staff at the desk about the restroom and saw 3 lady’s in purple wheeling trash bin around. Yet they didn’t go to the restroom to attend to it. There is no sense of urgency from what I seen. It’s sad that they are fully pact with sick kids waiting for an hr or so just to be seen. I feel bad for the kids/baby’s having to wait so long all while feeling sick. As the parents are trying to comfort them in a strange environment. I would expect more from a place that is specifically for children.

Cynthia Ramirez Please know I am leaving this review for the Santa Rosa on 151, Westover Hills. The hospital is not allowing reviews on Google. So I do apologize that I’m leaving it here. But I need people to know this. I am complaining because while in the ER waiting room. Veronica, the registration personal was registering between 4-5 individuals in earshot of everyone in the waiting room. I know this is a violation of confidentiality, and a huge compromise to the safety of any of the individuals/patients identifiable information that can put them at risk. I know Veronica knew better because when she called my husband to gather his info. I requested that she do it in privacy and not in a public place, surrounded by many people because she didn’t offer privacy with the others before us. She looked at me confused and had the nerve to asked me “When did I register others in public?” I pointed to the person behind us. Veronica was speaking to the patient no more than 1 minute before calling on my husband. I pointed and stated” You just spoke to her right now, I heard all of the her and the other patients information as well”. She pointed at the hall and stated she will take my husbands info there. As if that was her plan to begin with. This happen May 3rd at 9:00-9:35 am. Please check the cameras in the ER waiting room for confirmation of her actions. You will see her speaking to the patients and moving on to the next. If someone had I’ll intentions, they would of heard insurance information, bdays, address, email, phone numbers, Emergancy numbers, pharmacy info, payment methods. I know an ER may be busy. But compromising one’s identity and privacy should never be over looked.

Ashley Hunter My son has a serious chronic medical condition and the ER nursing staff was amazing and provided prompt medical attention to my son. However, the night shift registration personnel, Grace, was the most unprofessional person I have ever spoken to. I have been a nurse for 16 years and I have never talked to such an unprofessional and uncaring person in registration. I will come back to this hospital because this is where my sons neurosurgeon is, however, the director of admitting should reprimand their unprofessional employees.

But they are very busy and those small breaks would negatively impact their efficiency. I appreciate them all..

Brooke McIntosh Called to make a same day appointment with my PCP and the receptionist with the nastiest attitude told me my provider was on a half day and I am not allowed to see any other providers... Making it seem like it was my fault. My favorite part of the interaction: "We can refer you to an urgent care because you can only see your assigned provider." "Ok, which urgent care should I go to?" "Whatever one you want." She had the nastiest attitude, didnt offer me the next available appointment and frankly wasnt helpful. This was not my first bad experience with their front desk staff and I will be finding myself another PCP. As a healthcare provider myself, I understand policies and being busy but the attitude is not excusable.

Amber Gonzalez I don’t understand the bad reviews on here. Sometime you’re the problem!! I absolutely love this office. From the front staff, the awesome nurses, to the Doctors. You have to treat others the way you want to be treated and they were amazing from start to finish. Thorough in my check in, to my concerns, to my check out. The facility is clean and easy to access and one of the nurse treated me like a daughter. So professional and kind. Dr. Garza is amazing as well and I left with all my concerns and questions answered. It’s not easy to find a GREAT doctor so I am glad I came here!. I will be recommending to everyone I know.

David and Ruthie Wu I had chosen Dr. Michelle Aliotta as my primary care doctor after my previous doctor retired. Her office was initially out of the MedFirst on Stone Oak Parkway and eventually moved to this location. Although this was further for me, I loved the care that Dr. Aliotta gives. I know that she sincerely cares for me in the questions she asks and the time she takes during each visit. Over the pandemic, our visits have become telemedicine. I think the technology we tried around June had a few hiccups. Eventually, we were able to connect and talk. Our communication outside the appointments has been mainly through the portal. Thankfully, shes pretty responsive. I will say that when Ive tried to call the office before to talk with her, its been very frustrating. It seems that they really dont want you calling on the phone. Yesterday, I stopped by the office to drop off a little Christmas cheer to thank Dr. Aliotta. Its good to see social distancing within the waiting area but Im personally still not too comfortable visiting in person yet.

Alexander Worthington-Lee Dr. A is fantastic but the staff is extremely disorganized, poorly trained, and completely oblivious to the concept of giving patients a good experience. Three staffers where at front desk area when I arrived. One was busy chatting with another patient, the other two were busy talking to each other. I stood there for several minutes and no one cared to acknowledge me until their conversations were finally over. A “hello, welcome, we’ll be with you in a moment” would have been enough. I was then directed to sit in the nurse appointments waiting area. It didn’t take long to be called in; but was frustrating to immediately be told that the scheduling staff made a mistake because the kind of test I came in for needs to performed early in the day. It was the middle of the afternoon. Thankfully the nurse felt bad that my time and hers had been wasted, so she offered to squeeze me in on a day that’s convenient for me. Go if you want a great, friendly, and professional doctor. Skip if you expect the place to be run by people who know what they are doing.

Rebecca Emerson My children’s care while in the hospital was fine. Follow up care has been horrendous. She needed follow up diagnostic testing to be done 1-2 weeks after discharge. We had to call numerous times and each time we were transferred from one person to another in an attempt to get orders for the diagnostic testing. When we finally got an appointment it was 5 weeks after her hospital stay rather than 2. The diagnostic testing was for a potentially life threatening condition. Then we received a bill which we promptly paid. Then we received a second bill for the same amount. We thought this was strange since our check cleared. So we called to ask why we received a second bill and the representative said “we received your check and it was cashed but not credited to your account”. So now we are on yet another goose chase to figure out where our money went.

SoRaya Feliciano Read below my previous post. Most importantly understand that if access to medication and the assistance of the nurses is not taken more seriously for the active military, retirees & their families this FACILITY IS NOT the specialist for our families. They need to pair up with DOD to COMPLETELY understand how to use the medical system for prescription. For the past two years I have made more trips to the office back and forth for the same prescriptions more than necessary. Also, it does not help that you are constantly rude to the DOD pharmacist because your staff is not trained in a contract you want. Furthermore, The treatment and care was phenomenal when we first arrived and in less than a year it has diminished. Do NOT take on more patients if you do not have the QUALIFIED NURSE & administrative STAFF for support. Previous Post 10 months from May 19,20023: The best neurology care my son has received since his fall. Dr Avula took his time studying all lab work and after some change of meds and detecting the specific seizure; my son is living a better life thanks to his diligent care and God’s hand.

Dr. Martinez is very busy in his practice the wait may be long because he takes time with his patients and not like other physicians that see their patients as if rushed 2-5 minuets max and you leave confused . Not the case with Dr. Martinez he takes the time address my issues, covers my plan of care, and give me detailed instructions. Reviews my lab work with me and I always leave knowing what I have to do to maintain my optimal health. I would not have any other primary care physician lead my health care provider team. Never once my pain reoccurred. Over the next 3 days in the hospital, he put me through all kinds of cardiac testing until he decided to do an untrasound for gall bladder, which I had assumed my gall bladder had been removed approximately 20 years prior to along with an elective surgery. As soon as it was found to still be in my body, a gastric specialist was brought in to remove the gall bladder was found.

Ashley Nicole Diaz I am a Registered Nurse that saw Dr. Katipally at the Robert B Green campus on 2/9/18 (Friday). I waited 4 hours to see him. I completely understand being understaffed and it being flu season, but techs/nurses/MDs were notably lax. Dr. Katipally told me that he was out of flu swabs, but presumed that’s what I had. I explained I had not had high grade fever and my illness was slow onset. He wrote for tamiflu (which is not helpful if you’ve had symptoms longer than 48 hrs, which he would have known if he’d asked what day I started feeling ill), an anti inflammatory, and Zyrtec (I do not nor have ever had allergies). Feeling worse today (Monday), I called the clinic asking to speak with him. The girl who answered said because it is an urgent care clinic, MDs do not take calls. Mind you, this would have been a two-minute phone call. This doctor is negligent to misdiagnose me. I have the same problem I had on Friday. This man did nothing but waste my time. I believe I have bronchitis as I’ve had in the past. Now I have to go thru the same miserable experience that I went through on Friday. This man shouldn’t even be practicing if he doesn’t care about his patients enough to sit down and take the time to diagnose them properly.

Leonard Teniente The security guard or parking guard, whatever he is, is on a ridiculous power trip. I had dropped off my elderly mother for an appointment on Friday March 1st, 2024 in the AM and went to pick her up when was finished. She called me and told me she was on the way outside so I waited in the small drop-off zone in front of building on Quincy street. I was there waiting not even a couple of minutes and dude comes out with an attitude saying I cant park there. I told them I am picking up my mother from her appointment whose already done and coming down. He said it doesnt matter I cant wait there. I wasnt even "parked" and was not blocking anyone in since no one else was there to drop off/pick up. So I asked him sarcastically "So she has to be physically outside waiting before I can pull in here?" and he says with an attitude "yes". Some people cannot handle the smallest bit of "power" like this a*hole. I literally circled the block and when came around my mother was coming out and a*hole guard no where to be found.

L. Casares We had a horrible experience leaving after my husband had had an exploratory treatment for heart disease. We were on the fifth floor for almost 24 hours and for the most part we found the staff kind and helpful. Maria and Isabelle, nurses on that floor, in mid August 2013 seemed the most efficient and caring. RN Christina in the last part of our stay made our life agonizing. She told us point blank that we would wait 2 and 1/2 hours before she could even begin to check my husband out. Two and a half hours later she had not even opened the file as it was handed to her by another nurse when I went to the desk to inquire. She had other patients checking out too, she said; we just had to be patient (no pun intended, I think). My husband, a very patient man, finally stood up and said, "Thats it. Im done." When they saw the family leaving, the paperwork was completed five minutes later. Go somewhere else.

D Nicole LEsperance-Ellsworth I only go because of doctor Kumar he is amazing BUT when you consistently show up 10 to 15 minutes early for appointments, Labs especially, and wait for 30 minutes after your actual appointment time, that’s unacceptable. Means you are in the waiting area for up to 45 minutes waiting to have them draw your blood and you are starving, perfect recipe for people getting really angry. What do we the people with appointments not matter? Does our time matter less than yours? Really despise offices that permit this kind of behavior!

Because in my opinion Ive given you VIP treatment" while raising his voice. I stated "No, I logically know you have been treating me, weve tried many medications. I feel dismissed" to which he said "so you are saying that Im not treating you" and I said "No, logic is based on facts, and feelings are based on emotions" He responded with a very stern raised voice and said "It is essentially the same thing" then I was prescribed new medications and he terminated me as a patient. A quick google search shows how quickly people build a tolerance to controlled medication and being on the same dose for 3 years is medical negligence when Ive been complaining my meds havent been working for over a year. Honestly stay away. This was the most unprofessional experience Ive ever had and it didnt help I was already having an anxiety attack. He also will not inform you of any possible side effects of medications so do your own research on them.

Jaali Marin I’m not one to usually do reviews , but my experience at this hospital was beyond ridiculous! Only giving a one star because there’s not an option for 0! This is the absolute WORST hospital with the most HORRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL staff. There was only about 2-3 other patients and we waited about 5-6 hours. Nurses were beyond rude and made ridiculous and uncalled for comments. A nurse had a huge issue with my grandmother going back and forth to the bathroom not knowing cancer has caused stomach issues. She made a comment saying “she sure does use the restroom a lot” and was breathing hard making uncalled for faces. To be helped, you would have to go out and look for a nurse because they definitely don’t go check up on you. We nicely asked for a cup of water and the nurse made it seem like I was asking for a whole lot. I kept my patience and was polite the entire visit despite the service provided , and still was treated poorly. I will NEVER recommend this hospital to anyone and definitely won’t be returning.

Amy Garza My mother went in yesterday. Waited over 12 hours. She was in pain and the nurses never gave her anything. Very rude and unprofessional. Like a comment stated before it’s like you’re bothering them asking a simple question. It’s very sad that they have this type of customer service. Hopefully they get better because honestly next time we’ll just drive to San Antonio. It probably be faster and more professional!

Tara Keilmann The worst ER experience ever! Came in with abdominal pain. Received a medication that didn’t work. The nurse asked me 1 hour after giving it, if it was affective. I told her it was not. She stated I’ll let the Dr know. Over an hour later he comes in. I’m writing this while I’m waiting for pain medicine and my discharge paperwork. I will never comeback here again. Even if I’m dying I’m not coming back. This is the worst experience ever. Plus the nurses have a bedside manner of a sponge. I know because I’m a nurse. I treat patients better than this! Do better every one. The radiology tech, triage nurse and intake person were amazing.Thats the only thing this hospital did correct!

Carol YaYa Nies Triage is great but all the effort triage puts in to get patients taken care of quickly is a waste of his time. Waited over 6 hours after X-rays and still don’t have room for results to be given by the doctor. So we wait for hour in the waiting room to get results. Overflowing patients and no one comes out to check on you.

Shara Hesskew I loved the ER visit, but I loathe the office by Maverick Grill. They turned us away due to not having the copay and refused to bill us. My daughter was sick with a fever over a week, a cough, phlegm, and I had just gotten out of the ER a few weeks prior due to breathing issues and was concerned she may have had the same thing, so I wanted to get her treated before it became an emergency. I also wanted to make sure it wasn’t pneumonia since I had gotten pneumonia at the same age and my lungs have been broken since! I didn’t want the same thing to happen to her. I was broke and could not afford it until I got paid. They refused. I called and they said Bianca Perez, the manager, would not allow unless at least half was paid. There was a sick child in need of assistance in avoiding a situation before it potentially became an emergency and they did not care. Heartless monster!! We are changing doctors and never returning to that facility! How can anyone turn away a sick child?! DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mayra Garza I want to share how incredible the care has been for my dad during his stay. His Nurse/PCA, Christiana, has been an absolute blessing. From the moment we arrived, she was not only professional and knowledgeable, but also so kind and compassionate. Her positive attitude and attentive care truly lifted everyone’s spirits. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about her patients and their families. We’re so grateful for the kindness and dedication she showed us during such a challenging time. Thank you for everything Christiana!

Valerie Perez My nephew was in ICU, he is now in PCU. The staff in both of these areas have gone above and beyond. I have nothing but respect for these nurses & staff. Im actually in awe. How comfortable we feel to know he is being well taken care of. Also the rooms are immaculately clean & this is an old hospital. Another thumbs up ! Its very rare that you get one on one sincere service in a hospital honestly. Many of mankind has become disengaged somewhat with their patients and just do their job minimally. Thank you so much Northeast Baptist Hospital for taking care of my nephew, it will not be forgotten nor ever unnoticed.

Lisa Ellow I wouldn’t even give them 1 star.I was working at my nursing home when the ambulance were called because my blood pressure was so high Because I had extremely bad pains in my pelvic area that has been going on for a while it got extremely bad yesterday. The ambulance took me straight to the waiting room and crying in tears. No one comes and gets me or checks on me in the waiting room for about an hour and a half from there I get a room. I’m waiting in there for two hours before somebody comes.Crying to my daughter on the phone in pain Telling her I will never come here again no one even came to talk to me about anything. The nurse overhears. It runs in and says somebody will be right with me.I said I can’t take this pain can I have Ibuprofen or anything he said no. Two hours later the doctor Comes in and said they were gonna do CT. I’ve had the same issue at north east Methodist. And they treated me right away And when I was in pain with a cyst on my ovary they got me right in and gave me medicine. Then a nurse told me to go to another room for my CT. I left my room. And went to another room where they told me to go this lady in there thought it was waiting to see the doctor Told me this is a horrible hospital. While I was waiting in the room for a good hour and a half A nurse came in and asked me my name and said you’re supposed to be going for a CT I said yes, He said oh you were supposed to wait in your room for them to come get you. They’ve been looking for you. I said well the nurse told me to come in this room. The nurse told me it happens all the time. They send people to the wrong rooms so basically I was in the hospital all day and all night. I will always go back to Methodist. The only reason why I came to Baptist because it was near my job and The ambulance had to take me to the closest one. Please don’t go here for anything!!!!

J. A. Sp Have seen Dr. Uy for over 10 years. The doctor is excellent, good patient bedside manner and knowledgeable. However, the visits are entirely ruined by dealing with the staff from the front desk, billing staff and office administrator. They either lack skill sets for manners, administrative sense or they just dont care and for whatever issue, it is not them its you. Its all nicely packaged in a rude and indifferent manner. This practice has really gone from bad to worse over the years and seems to be struggling. Maybe they just need better staff.

Unificial Time Most messages sent by patient on the online portal regarding refills/test results receive no response. Even the VOICEMAIL SYSTEM is only operational during "business hours," which are 8-noon and 1:30-4 M-F (32 1/2 hours per week).

Sam Jolies What other reviewers have stated is correct. The front desk staff are rude and incompetent. I would call them airheads but their ineptitude seems intentional and malicious. I’d rather drive 30 minutes north than deal with these ugly hags.

Kevin Moore Dr. Uy is awesome! My only problem with the practice is its distance from my home. The staff is always friendly and I have not encountered the issues that others have stated. I think I had one small problem with a prescription, but the staff fixed it immediately. I would recommend with no hesitation.

Jeff If I could give negative stars I would. I got tested and it said I had a hyperactive thyroid. I went in and they looked at a test I had done 3 week prior and Dr Baquero probably wrong spelling tells me oh its not to bad you should be good. I then proceeded to go through my symptoms and she tells me oh then I have it for sure. Puts me on restrictions. Tells me she is taking a test to make sure its not graves first. Proceeds to have me take the same test I did 3 weeks earlier. This time my test came back .01 lower and they call and cancel my appointment and telling my its not the thyroid even though the test still shows me out of range and I still have bad symptoms. This place is dangerous please go somewhere that actually cares about your health. I am so happy I would not let this place touch my diabetes I would probably be in a hospital right now. EDIT: Found a new Endo and on day 1 showed them everything and they put me on medication and Im almost fully healthy again. Stay far far far away from this place the doctors will get you killed. New Place: Diabetes & Glandular Disease. Go to them and help yourself.

Mike Cook Charlatans! Deer Oaks is contracted by nursing homes purely to medicate residents in nursing homes & they don’t even do it responsibly, unless you are familiar with your rights. The past four years, my observation of Deer Oaks is that they are only around to keep tabs on us. A few conversations I had with a few Deer Oaks reps left me with the notion that they will only enable someone’s behavior, regardless if they are confused/deluded. They aren’t here to help people come back to reality & I feel that an investigation into Deer Oaks is strongly merited.

A123 CAM Absolute dumpster fire of a health services provider. My municipality changed over to Deer Oaks a few months ago, was totally disconnected from all previous counseling and services. two months later, despite living in 2023, having email, phone, text, sms, etc., still waiting on them to "find" my providers name or assign me a new one. Zero attempt at follow up or outreach. I spoke to someone who sounded like she was in her living room babysitting 10 kids. This company is a total for profit joke and not a sincere organization looking to help anyone do anything but get the run around. Therell be a report on 60 Minutes on these clowns somewhere down the line.

Alicia Beckham Unacceptable service. They have to be thee slowest EAP Service providers in San Antonio,TX if not the State or the Country. It may be there is not enough staff to assist with the number of calls received. I have used there service for legal, financial, and behavioral health. I used the referral services for the legal at least twice I did not receive a call back from a legal time. I had to call back. The financial services went very smooth. And the Behavioral Health Services Department is just as slow as the Legal Department. Customer service is great but the company needs to reassess its timing that is provided to its customers. I will definitely be providing feedback to my organization.
