Navile Torres My baby needed to see a surgen. I was super worried. Anyway when I got there I was told I would not be seen Bc I had been to Matamoros within the last 14 days. BTW Matamoros is like 4 blocks away from there. The receptionist explained this was routine. I understand that but I told the receptionist that I don’t usually go to surgeons so I didn’t actually know this. She said they tried to call me a few days before. I also told her a few days would still have not been within the 14 days. Then I asked what happened and she said my number was wrong but they set up this appointment with my son’s pediatrician and they have called me many times so she could have called to confirm the number but I guess that would have been too much work for them. I was not seen, I wasn’t even allowed in the door, the whole interaction was over the phone and was completely distraught because my baby needed surgery and I wasn’t going to know how urgently until He was seen. Ultimately decided to go to a different surgen. That surgen called and mailed me a Letter of the expectations And what to bring before hand. I think that makes sense if you have strict rules about stuff like that. I never met Dr. Brooks so I can’t speak for her but her staff is a a reflection of her practice and management which is why I have reviewed with 1 star.

Lorena Vegs I was trying to go in to see my mom. Nurses on duty said I couldn’t go in due to only 1 person per room. I call my sister to come out so I could go in she said why I told her that only one person was permitted into the room she said that not true 2/3 person are in other rooms with their patients. Nurse also told me that they were gonna tried to get everyone out and leave just 1 person in the room which it never happened. So my sister walks outside and when I went inside to the emergency room where my mom was I saw all this people 2/3 persons @ a room. I immediately step out to the front desk and I told the nurses in front desk to go in there to check that there were to many people inside, nurse said she was gonna be right back that she was gonna get back to me which she never did so that when I called my sister Estela to come into my mom’s room and up to now no one hasn’t come to take no one out. This is very ridiculous nurses acting like if they were the owners of the DHR Hospital. Never again will come here. Very bad customer service as per the nurse that attended my mom.

Jaine Cantu I am so so pleased with this hospital. My mother is ill and I was going to get her transported to San Antonio since I was afraid of the quality of service in Brownsville. My Sis in law suggested we give this hospital a try.. WOW I am so impressed Rita and Antonio are SOOOOO AMAZING. I can not thank them enough for how they treated my mother and myself. Thank you so much of making my mother so comfortable and for helping me regain the confidence in Brownsville health care!

Sally gifford Wow, the best hospital experience ever! The facility was like new, it wasnt crowded, and the people...oh, the people were wonderful from check-in to nurses to the doctor, all 5 star. Ditto upon follow-up visit. I only wish I could take em back to Austin with me!!! No kidding, its such a relief to have a 5 star hospital 28 minutes from our SPI beach house. Awesome!

Araceli Bolado My mom went in to the ER and she didnt have to wait for hrs. to be seen. By the time I parked my car and went back in, she was already being treated. She was in her private room in minutes. She stayed there for 3 days and her nurses and doctor were really good. The following week, my dad had to go to the ER and the experience was the same. He stayed for 4 days and again the staff was amazing. The hospital is super clean and the rooms are very comfortable. Theres enough seating for visitors and a big couch for a family nember to stay over night. VR and VB could learn a thing or two from DHR.

Claudia Coats Islas Not sure if the AM needs to be taught by the PM crew but, their lack of empathy and poor bedside manners is insane! The doctor didn’t seem to care, it seemed as if I were more of a bother than a patient. I’ve been going to DHR for the past year due to medical issues, and for some reason, the PM doctors and nurses seem more empathetic and more attentive than the AM crew. It’s quite sad.

It took less than a hour to go from the lobby to an ER room. And by the afternoon she was being moved to a room. Thank you to all the doctor’s, nurses and staff!

Rosa Blanco This is the best hospital I have ever been to. It’s hard to find medical staff now in days that haven’t forgotten why they signed up to care for people. From the moment I walked into their Emergency Room, to their women’s care staff and their OR staff. Everyone was great and very attentive, friendly, and caring. I am from Harlingen and I have never been given this same treatment from neither hospital here. From the bottom of my heart. Thank You for the attention and care. I will forever be grateful.

S Berns 3/5/25 Came to Valley Regional ER in an ambulance after a car accident. (The rest of my party was unhurt, dealing with the hit-and-run police report, and getting new transportation.) We were on vacation from Colorado so I didnt know anything about the areas facilities and had to handle questions by myself, while in excruciating pain. EMTs told us about 2 facilities and this seemed larger, so we chose this one. Friendly doctors, technicians, and basically everyone I interacted with. I was in a lot of pain due to a fractured collarbone and bruised sternum. It felt like it took quite a while for anyone to see me, take x-rays, or get pain meds. I was only there for 2-1/2 hours, but when youre in a lot of pain and alone it seems like a very long time. There was no call button or way to call for assistance - glad I didnt have to rush to the bathroom - and information on the board in the room was 2 days old and not updated for me (see pic). I was able to get the location from the board so I could tell my party where I was! Thats important! I do realize I wasnt dying, just hurt and scared, so Im sure they needed to take care of more serious situations first. It would have been much more comforting to have had a call button (or some way to get ahold of someone if I needed help), someone who regularly checked in on me to see how I was doing, or any information about the doctor/nurse/etc. Registration came in mid-way through my visit to get the insurance info. I asked but they forgot to give me a copy of all the paperwork I signed. They seemed a little busy that day so Im sure if I call them they can/will get that sent to me. Doctor gave me some pain meds there and adjusted them when he realized they werent working. Also sent some rxs to a pharmacy for me to pick up later. Gave me directions, but when you have had morphine its hard to remember everything. He said everything would be written down, but not really. He told me I didnt really need to go back to CO immediately since I would be in the same amount of pain there and it would last at least a week. No kidding. A broken collarbone is excruciating! (When I went back to CO and saw my primary, they took new xrays, found a displaced fracture of the collarbone and recommended surgery. The xrays taken at the ER were at an angle due to me not being able to move very well and didnt show an obviously displaced fracture; it just showed the fracture. Although the rxs dulled the pain, I probably should have had the surgery earlier than a week after the accident. Thats my call though and doc did tell me to come in if the pain got worse.) Overall, a good "visit" to Valley Regional Medical Center ER. I would recommend them if youre on vacation, have an emergency, and need help.

Mary Ramirez I ended up in the ER at Valley Regional due to a slip and fall. The place was full, but I was quickly taken care. All personnel, beginning with the check in person, and finishing with Dr Andrew Escamilla were so professional. I was so pleased with my experience, and happy that I didn’t have any major damage. Thank you Valley Regional for your great service.

Jennifer Carrillo Receptionists are rude, and the staff takes months and us repeatedly calling to send prescriptions for medical equipment. My mother was lied to and told she would lose her Medicare if she didn’t go every 3 months. We call, and they always put us on hold for several minutes, and then come back and say they can’t help. The doctor is good but his staff is not. We would not recommend this office to anyone.

Brenda L Had a very good experience at my first appointment at this Private Practice. Was taken in at the time of my appointment. Medical assistant was very nice and helpful. All my questions were answered and I got a call from my pharmacy way before I even left the office. The front desk was very friendly! The Doctor was very patient to answer all my questions. Tracy Anguiano My daughter had her first hospital stay at the age of 9 due to a broken arm and I cannot say enough great things about the pediatric unit! We were blessed with the most incredible nurses- Ruben, Jolyn, and Laura. You can tell that they each absolutely LOVE what they do and go above and beyond for their patients. Their level of compassion and skills cannot be matched! Nursing is truly their calling. The pediatric unit not only delivers exceptional medical treatment, they are some of the best human beings on this planet. We are forever grateful for them!

L Stok Do not go to this ER. My mom was treated so inhumanely here. She is over 70, went on for severe vertigo to the point of vomiting and could not stand. Her ER doctor screamed at her telling her she could stand. Once he berated her. He finally agreed to give her a head scan and once admitted she shared a bathroom with three other patients. My father died here of a massive heart attack at this hospital seven years earlier and I had a bad child birthing experience here. Overall please do not risk your health, life, and dignity and go somewhere else

Daisy Garces DHR is a wonderful hospital, here is my review breakdown of the staff. RN: All of my moms Rns were wonderful. Their rounds were often and always concerned about my moms pain management. They were attentive and extremely professional. I wish I could remember all of their names but unfortunately I only remember Anahis. But they were all wonderful. CNA: The Cnas that my mom had were also extremely helpful, we had Sonia for a few days and she was so nice and patient with my mom. She went beyond her duties to make my mom feel comfortable. Thank you Sonia for making us feel comfortable asking for help. Red Coats: The redcoats were also very helpful to us. In particular Uriel I believe his name was. My father was going to spend the night with my mom and we wanted to get him food for him to have incase he was hungry. I realized I needed permission since there was a red coat by the elevator and I knew he was going to say something. I did ask BEN, I asked what i needed to do and he initially said with a wobbly head, sassy and condescending voice, no food is allowed at all in the rooms. I explained the situation that my father couldnt do it for himself , he kept saying the same thing over and over. Then I asked what if I ask the nurse, which he replies that i needed permission also from the doctor, which is odd to me but ok. He was not helpful, not trying to help at all. I then go up and ask the head nurse, she understood and said yes its ok. Then I went to the very front at the waiting area and spoke with uriel. I told the situation and not once did he ever tell me NO. He was helpful and said sure, lets call the nurse to ask her. He went beyond the basic NO. His customer service skills were noticeable. He called the nurse and it was approved. That alone took my 30 min from talking, going up and down the elevator. It could have been half, if Ben would have taken the time to actually want to help. Overall this hospital is great! Thank you DHR

Athena James My mom was in extreme pain and experiencing severe abdominal spasms and fever during the entire four hours we waited. She was crying uncontrollably in agony, and everyone, including the doctor, could hear her. Once they finally attended to her, all they did was give her liquid Tylenol. My dad spoke with the doctor, pleading for something stronger to manage her pain since my mom has a high pain tolerance, and seeing her cry and collapse to the floor was alarming. Instead of showing compassion, the doctor scoffed and laughed at his request. They eventually ordered a CT scan, but before we even received the results, they discharged her and sent her home. We drove 40 minutes to DHR because it’s supposed to have a good reputation, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend bringing a loved one here. The lack of care and empathy from the doctor was truly disheartening. I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what we went through last night. My mom has had medical issues for almost 5 years now and we have never had such a horrible experience. So save ur time and energy and go somewhere that will truly care for you.

Elda Valdez What an experience in a time our a critical situation. Nancy from the financial services, had no empathy, no sense of compassion and the most rude person I’ve ever had to deal with. While I do understand she was doing her job in getting all documentation needed she didn’t care to help and go the extra mile for her clients. She made our lives a living nightmare even while we had to be dealing with our health. If I could change hospitals I would in an instant. We do not recommend this hospital at all.

Salma Caballero Just had the worst experience At this “clinic”… I called before hand gave them my date of birth And asked if there was appointments or walkins while I was at another clinic, all the way across town and they told me I can go as a walk-in, So I Quickly drove that way, they told me they only had one patient ahead of me… When I get there They let me know that they aren’t taking new patients.. The lobby was literally EMPTYYYYYYY…. Apparently, it takes “too much time For the doctor to see a new patient”…. The ladies in the front Had the worst attitude Knowing that I left another clinic Just for them to tell Able to be seen. Knowing Every clinic is about a 2 hour wait !!!! So much for paying so much Money For insurance….

Sarah SR This location says that they take walk-ins on the front door and are accepting new patients on the sign. They do not take walk-ins. They will only accept a patient as a walk-in if you were already CURRENTLY a patient. So not really taking all walk-ins, nor did they accept me as a new patient. UPDATE: As confirmed by the office manager below, this location does NOT actually accept walk-ins from the public, despite their signage. If you are a new patient, the policy is that you need to be healthy enough to wait for when they can schedule you. New patients should not be sick enough that they are needing care.

Joseph Arredondo Dont waste your time and money at this doctor’s office. The front-end staff is rude and dismissive. They have an attitude that comes across as condescending as if they are doing you a favor by allowing you to be there. My wife arrived three minutes late as a patient walked in. She explained that she was there to get her test results but was told to return the following day for them because she was late. There were zero patients in the waiting room at the time.

The receptionist Polo is quite awesome and on this visit, we came in with high spirits and he just added to it! Very awesome! Wait time is practically nothing and absolute minimum wait time once you’re in waiting for results. Oh and only necessary tests! Other places go too broad in their testing. Better than going to the main hospital for most medical cases.

The lady who took my blood cannot correctly insert a needle. Therefore, she left her mess. Then she decides to rush me as well. Karla Sofia My daughter was admitted to Palms Behavioral Health & I had to take her out. My daughter was traumatized despite only being there for 2 days. On her first day, Monday, she witnessed fights and other patients having drugs and getting high, my daughter had never been around an environment like this before and was extremely terrified. On Tuesday they had visitations later that evening so I was able to see my daughter with her god mother. My daughter said she had panic attacks all day on Tuesday and nobody did anything, she wasn’t able to talk to anyone until it was group time and a therapist finally came to her unit. My daughter told us everything that had happen, including things like patients planning on doing Code Purples to get injected, Staff saying bad words to the patients and mistreating them, Patients sneaking drugs in and getting high, and how she was terrified because she did not belong there. I spoke to staff regarding her safety and everything she told me. On Wednesday, I continued to call the staff regarding her safety and wellbeing and seeing if I’d be able to take her out early. My daughter already has a therapist and psychiatrist that she has been seeing since she was 14 and has improved significantly and had never tried to harm herself. She was terrified that being there in that horrible place and environment would erase all the progress she had made and worked hard on. I was able to get her discharged on Wednesday. The staff were all nice to her that day and the people watching over the patients changed due to rotations and they were a lot nicer than the ones she had on Monday & Tuesday. Overall only three staff members were nice and did not mistreat the patients or my daughter. My daughter is severely traumatized still yet has been home for 3 days now. She still looks around for cameras, feels scared closing the bathroom door or locking it, terrified that she’ll get in trouble for being on her devices, and more. My daughter also said they would watch 911 or forensic files or law & order which would have heavy triggering topics like sexual abuse, overdosing, death, and more. I don’t understand why they were allowed to watch those things as those topics can be very triggering for people. After my daughter was discharged we drove home and visited her psychiatrist so she could see her because she was traumatized. Her psychiatrist said Palms Behavioral Health is one of the worst places in the valley and did not understand why my daughter had been sent there. Her psychiatrist was glad that I had taken her out and fought for her. Overall horrible place. I do not understand how this place is supposed to help people get better or get stabilized. The environment is horrible and dangerous, my daughter was exposed to things she had never witnessed or been around (drugs and fights) My daughter would like to thank Stefanie, Drew, and Sam, one female and two male staff that were nice towards my daughter and were understanding and made her feel comfortable and safe. Palms gave my daughter more trauma than help and she was there for 2 days. I am glad to have my daughter back and continue her usual treatment with her psychiatrist and therapist. Horrible place, I don’t understand how a place like this can be considered safe. If I could I would absolutely give this place 0 stars.

omar ruiz Came here for my brother because he needed vaccines for school. This is the only place that had them without an appointment. I dreaded and reluctant coming here because these places usually for low income families and have a stigma for usually being rude. Surprisingly they were very nice. Nicer than any private clinic I’ve ever been. The lady in the front I can tell she’s been working there a while was super nice I forgot her name. Also, another lady who administered the vaccine. She said she was helping for today and worked in the TB department . Great quality care!

Rose Lehmann At the COVID Vaccine distribution at Los Fresno’s. Line up was well planned. Port-o-potties were disgusting. Not enough, filthy, un believable that there were only 6 available. Not being maintained, a real health hazard!!

corina evans This is the second time my family has had to use the Valley Baptist Emergency Center and each time we’ve had Nurse Milly. She’s a great Nurse and her patient care is excellent. She is truly the best ER nurse I have ever seen. My husband has hard vains to get blood from and she was a pro. All the other staff was awesome too. Thank you Milly and Valley Baptist

Rebeka Villafranca I cannot say enough wonderful things about Alyssa at VBMC ER. From the moment she walked in to care for my daughter her kindness, compassion, and professionalism was evident. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, taking the time to listen to concerns and provide reassurance. She made difference in our visit to the ER. Her genuine warmth made a stressful time much easier. She is someone who truly embodies the heart of nursing. I am incredibly grateful for her exceptional care and dedication. Thank you Alyssa for making such a difference!

Elizabeth Trevino ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! If you are in need of medical attention, do not expect to see a doctor for at least 4 hours. Visited yesterday with severe stomach pain. Pain was intense and I had trouble sitting or standing. Checked in and asked how many people were ahead of me. The receptionist refused to tell me saying only that they were very busy. Two hours later they took my vitals and sent me back to wait in the lobby. After nearly 4 hours of waiting I asked the receptionist again how many people were ahead of me and she said only the nurses station would know but said I couldnt ask. I finally said Im going home and I did leave having never seen a doctor. Before I left the receptionist did make sure to tell me that because my vitals were taken I would be charged a whole visit. Unbelievable! It appears VBMC does not care about patients but makes sure to charge them for sitting in their waiting room. Never again.

Rene De La Garza I was there to get seen for scalding myself. I left because I didnt get seen and the nurses who took my vitals laughed at me in a demeaning way. There were 4 people called before me that arrived 20 minutes and more after me. When I told them I was leaving it was like it didnt matter and they didnt ask why as to look into it.

Norma Martinez NEVER go there!! Wait time is over 3 hours. Ridiculous for the elderly to be waiting that long. Even to pickup a referral or prescription the wait time is so bad. Already looking to switch doctors. I have seen the elderly in wheelchairs waiting over 3 hours. I dont know why they overlap their appointments but the wait time with this doctor is out of this world. :(

Gael medellin My mom has never seen the actual Dr. The wait times are ridiculously long. They make appts for lab readings theyve never scheduled, so ridiculous!

Maricruz Gonzalez Horrible doctor , my mother had to wait 3+ hours to just been seen by this person for only 15 minutes, when she has asked him on why she always has to wait to long to be seen by him and just for 15 minutes, he had the audacity to tell my mom that they give more priority to paying patients thank patients who are using their insurance.

rosie rivers My husband had an appointment at 9:30 am and was called in @10am. We were advised the doctor was not yet in the facility and there was no one to see the patients. Requested to speak with the person in management, however it was stated she was busy. Not to mention the scale on triage room it was very unsafe for patients. Please keep in mind that most of these patients are over the age, elders. When I requested the information for complaints, they refused to offer so. Do not recommend at all. It send they do not care for our elders.

Sara Montes Very disappointed in this medical team. At a very hurtful time during my mom’s passing this Dr. and staff had no empathy when requesting reasons as to why the Dr. would not sign death certificate. They claimed he had to see his patients first, as if my mom had not been his patient. I understand it takes time and they are busy but the lack of empathy was just hurtful and disappointing. People please chose your doctors and read reviews. My mom was in hospice so we didn’t get to chose. Do it for your loved ones and your own peace.

Yess Ponce This is by farthest the worst medical attention Ive received in my life. The total wait was 6 hrs, after being told it was a 2 hr. wait. Why lie to sick people, seeking medical attention? I was issued tests 3 hours later, then waited 3 hrs later to receive diagnosis. The worse part, during all the waiting I developed a fever, chills and I politely asked a young man how much longer. First, he commented it was 3 people before me to get results, 2 hrs passed and nothing. Finally, after waiting 3 hrs. For doctor to give me diagnosis the doctor has the audacity to carry conversation with an employee for 5 minutes talking about her father being a police officer and doctor telling her he needed therapy. This doctor is ridiculously unprofessional, to top it off they couldnt find my test results. My file wasnt even placed outside my room, which my door was left open no respect for my privacy. This facility deserves 0 stars. Warning, to ill people dont go, and waste your money or time.

Cassie L I have been a long-time patient of Valley Day and Night Clinic, but after my recent experience, I will never return. After moving back to the area, I visited the clinic today for a routine issue—only to endure an appalling five-hour wait while receiving less than five minutes of actual medical attention. This level of disregard for patients’ time is completely unacceptable. Throughout my visit, there was a total lack of communication or concern from the staff. Yet, they were quick to collect payment upfront, ensuring that even if I had chosen to leave in frustration, I would still be charged. This clearly demonstrates that Valley Day and Night Clinic prioritizes profit over patient care. Given this experience, I will not only refuse to return to any of their locations but will also strongly advise others to avoid this clinic. The lack of professionalism and respect for patients is inexcusable.

jacob harris Ive been waiting for 2 hours and people whove been here for a shorter amount of time are called in before me because they have insurance even tho they made me pay 95 as soon as I get in here. They continue to still put people in front of me, it just makes no sense why not charge me after the visit? so I can leave if its taking to long to call me. Im also not paying for attitude from the front desk, asking a question equals attitude with them.

Benjamin Keene Made me and my wife wait 3 hours when we were told it would be under 1 hour wait. Not cool. Tons of sick people waiting just to get seen. Wil never be coming back. They made us pay first and then were not even available to give us a refund.

cecilia espinosa Waited almost two hours to be “seen” by a doctor for less than 60 seconds. He did not even make eye contact. This was a very impersonal medical service, when it should feel like your doctor cares about you. Most he did was put a stethoscope on my back and made me breathe twice when I had told them I was having chest pain and a burning crackly cough. I tested positive for the flu but felt pneumonia symptoms. I understand that the medical system is just busy and pumping people through but, what ever happened to examining the chest, glands, throat, ears, etc?? At least looking your patient in the eye and referring to them by name. Will not recommend, will not return. Very disappointing. Not only that but my at-home thermometer kept marking between 100.3 and 101.7 (oral, full battery, medical grade) and the consultation offices used a forehead infrared thermometer which measured 98.5 which tells me their equipment doesn’t work. Was not briefed on medications either. Would give 0 stars.

Jasmin Leal The receptionist with a tattoo star on her face has the worst customer service. From the beginning she had an attitude. Raised her voice and the only reason why I didn’t was because I was not going to bring myself down to her level. Another receptionist came over to assist her as she has no clue what she is doing and that lady was very polite and informative. This other chick tried to say she has explained the information to us when she hadn’t told us anything. Just sighed and rolled her eyes. We are not coming here for free services we pay to be seen not to be disrespected.

Maria Melchor During a recent visit to this a medical office, several serious violations of medical laws occurred, including breaches of HIPAA and improper documentation practices. Patient confidentiality was compromised when sensitive information was shared without proper authorization, violating HIPAA regulations. Additionally, the medical assistant, who is not authorized to make such decisions, wrongly cleared the patient to return to work without consulting a licensed physician, which is a clear overstep of their professional role. Furthermore, the documentation of the patients condition was incomplete and inaccurate, potentially jeopardizing future medical care. These violations not only risk patient safety but also expose the office to legal consequences. Since the office accepts insurance, the matter will be reported to the appropriate state authorities for further investigation. Such breaches of law and professional standards cannot be tolerated, and steps will be taken to ensure accountability.

Dulce I do not recommend this place for anybody who is injured after an accident or just has pain. this clinic is the worst the staff are so rude and don’t care about your pain or anything! All these ladies act bothered , and talk about the patients in a rude way out loud in front of other patients waiting to be seen that is not professional at all. Connie, the only old lady who does therapy is so rude. It’s like she hates her job. This one time I was late she started telling me off on why I was late. She made me feel so embarrassed yelling at me while other patients were around I didn’t say much I just kept my cool because she’s an old lady. My husband is the one who spoke up for me, and after that she she shut up. The next couple times that I went after that she tried to be a little nicer I guess but they need to remove her from there. It seems like she doesn’t like her job and she’s mad for no reason and if that’s the case then don’t be working somewhere like that if you can’t handle it. She kept mentioning I’m the only one who does this job. They need to hire more stuff for therapy or somebody who can do it without complaining

Elizabeth Grimaldo The times that I’ve been to this clinic, I’ve been treated with excellent bedside manner and customer service from all of the Staff. The Physician Assistant onsite, Mr. Guajardo, is very professional, listens, and validates concerns. This last time that I was at the clinic, Mr. Emmanuel, one of the Medical Assistants, and he was very professional and thorough.

Anel Benavides The wait time was long. They only notified me after two hours of sitting there, they were having trouble verifying insurance. Once I was I there the student nurses made it a point to be as unprofessional as possible by being rude and chewing gum As loudly as possible. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. Unprofessional. Entirely.
