I came in for an oil change, and he immediately made it clear that the oil they had—while very high quality—was not the correct spec for my specific car. He took the time to educate me about exactly what my vehicle requires, which turns out is only available through local dealerships or online.
Ironically, when I called the dealerships, most of them either blew off my questions, deflected, or didn’t even know what I was talking about. One dealership even transferred me to a dead line when I tried to verify what Danny had told me. Turns out, some of them are using lesser-quality oil than what’s actually recommended in the owner’s manual—and they’re the dealerships.
This industry can be incredibly shady, but Danny gave me straight truth from the second I walked in. He told me cars are always going to need maintenance—but mechanics shouldn’t add to that weight—and I couldn’t agree more.
