I just recently had to replace the transmission on a 2018 Honda Accord touring edition. The dealership originally quoted me more than $8800.00! I immediately put calls out to transmission shops in Texarkana and Ed not only responded within 15 minutes but he got the work done for half the price I was originally quoted! Furthermore, he was able to complete the work in less than one week and he even went to the dealership to pick up my car for me free of charge! There was only one downside, and that was not Eds fault whatsoever in that, when using a credit card, he had to charge a surcharge (credit card company shenanigans and is normal when it comes to paying mechanic shops these days) but even then, he only recouped what he himself was charged. My wife and I were EXTREMELY pleased with the whole experience and, although we dont live in Texarkana, they will still be our transmission shop going forward.
Im not sure where some of these other reviews took their cars but their description doesnt even come CLOSE to what we experienced (I rather suspect they are the type of customer you hear about in those "customer states ______" YouTube videos) and, as someone who always prefers to turn the wrench himself whenever practical, I can tell you Ed earned not only our repeat business, but our deepest gratitude and highest respect and I would not hesitate to tell anyone to gives Cates a call and trust Eds 40+ years of experience to fix your car correctly, and for a fair price.
