4 /5 Bill B: I am editing this review due to a more in depth diagnostic of the car DID indicate that it also needs a water pump. They were a bit more expensive than my normal shop, but they are competent and provided the correct information. Thanks.
I bought a car at auction for my daughter because her transmission had gone out. One the way home, it started overheating. I looked for a highly rated mechanic nearby and we ended up here at Fuentes. There was a $120 diagnostic fee that does not go toward any repairs that are made. I paid it and a man there told me that he would call me the next day with the repair estimate. He called and quoted $1,100 (plus) for a water pump, thermostat, and serpentine belt. Since I could not afford this, I told him not to do the work and I would come pick it up. Thankfully, I have AAA towing and got it towed back to my home town. I took it to my normal mechanic who I have used for years and he checked the car. Originally, he did not find a problem with the water pump, but a closer inspection revealed it needed to be replaced.
