Jerome Shannon On January 17, 2025 I was admitted to Baptist Hospital for an aortic aneurysm repair surgery. Following that surgery, I had two brain surgeries on 1/22 and 1/24, and am now receiving radiation therapy and chemotherapy for brain cancer. I can say without a shadow of doubt that Baptist Hospital is a world-class facility dedicated to saving lives and creating the best lives possible for its patients. I was in hospital for ten days and every employee of Baptist made me feel as if my care and my positive outcome was the most important thing to them. The level and quality of care I experienced is absolutely second to none. As I continue my care as an out-patient I am even more impressed with Baptist Hospital and the level of care provided by its employees. Baptist Hospital is just not a health care facility, it is a community of like minded souls who are dedicated to providing every patient with the highest level of care and the most positive outcome for their longterm success. I recommend Baptist Hospital most strongly and with no reservations. I am living proof of the incredible work being done in this facility. Pensacola is lucky to have a hospital of such high standards in our community.

Gregory Stachel Read through the reviews and just reiterating what a lot are saying. My grandfather entered by EMS (which if he didn’t, I think we would have been waiting all day). Everyone was in the emergency department was rude. They kept saying how packed the hospital was (basically saying they’re understaffed). Like I don’t understand how you can build a new hospital and then be overfilled.
The staff didn’t understand their own systems and were frustrated at the computers. No one came to help my grandfather use the restroom and he peed on himself multiple times. At some point, I started asking the staff if we should go to another hospital because everyone was stressed out, acting rude and snapping on me. The doctor never followed up with me in the 8 hours I was there.
We usually go to gulf breeze Baptist and I have never felt this way there. They’ve always been friendly to my grandfather and I and they never have a long wait. So I dont understand what’s happening with the Pensacola location.
Also the food at “big Baptist” is pitiful. How can a hospital cafeteria serve fried chicken, meatball subs and pizza? Like they should be ashamed of themselves for that. If you’re preaching to people to be healthier, serve healthier food.

Lauri Desport I wish I could give zero stars! I took my husband here two weeks ago for what we suspected was a pulmonary embolism, which he has had before, so we are very familiar with the symptoms. They called him in for triage and various lab work, and continued to send him back to the waiting room, waiting for at least an hour or two each time. We told the tech at triage we thought it was another pulmonary embolism. He was sent back to the waiting room. They took a chest X-ray and said there was no blood clot (should have done a CT scan for his symptoms). Sent back to the waiting room. They told us it wasn’t an emergency, or he would have been called back right away. We sat for 7 hours, until 1:30 AM, without ever being treated for this, or having a dr examine him. I complained to the desk clerk we had spoken to when we first checked in, and she shrugged it off with a smile on her face. We were told that there were other people waiting for just as long, but the true emergencies were being treated first. There was a tech coming around taking blood pressure from people waiting. I recorded his at 193/117, and she said she would keep an eye on him, but never came back to check on him. We finally left at 1:30 AM, never having been examined by a doctor. We told multiple people that he felt like it was another blood clot, and they did not listen, nor did they care. The next day he was taken by ambulance to Gulf Breeze hospital with a pulmonary embolism and pneumonia! This particular ER at the main Baptist Hospital could have killed him! They blatantly ignored his history and symptoms. 7 hours with absolutely no help or relief. We will never go back to this facility again. If you need an ER, go to the one on University and Nine Mile. They are much nicer, more attentive, and know what they’re doing. I would not recommend this ER to anyone.

Chris Phillips Dr. Vernon absolutely destroyed my life with unnecessary surgery. Im in pain as we speak 8 months later. I was met with a total dismissal by his staff and the hospital admin upon bringing this to their attention.

Jack Smith I had surgery there in August 2023. The surgery started a little late, but there was nothing to be done about that. The only issue i had was it took the 4 tries to get my IV going. Ive had multiple surgeries and a dozen IVa and 100 blood draws, and this was the first time it took more than 1st try. The rooms are clean, spacious, and its quite.
Ill be there tomorrow March 7th for the same surgery (the first try didnt work)
