kathleen Clark Making the decision to start Hospice care for my mom was very difficult. But the moment she was accepted into their care we knew it was the right decision for her. Once accepted, her services begin quickly were provided with equipment we needed to take care of her at home. We had so much comfort and peace in knowing that the rest of her life’s journey would be at home. The services were very well coordinated. All staff were very compassionate and caring. We are forever grateful for the care provided . Hudson Valley Hospice allowed my mom to have her wish of spending her final days at home with her family and cats.

Shari Clemens I would give a zero rating if I could. First assessment of Mom was at 100 years and three months with a diagnosis of congestive heart failure, a qualifying event regarding which I had spoken to her cardiologist before contacting HVH, yet Hudson Valley hospice evaluated her and said she did not qualify. Fast forward two months, mom has declined; I know I live with her and assess her every single day. She is sleeping most of the day and night. She feels weak, unsteady, afraid she’s going to fall she has lost weight, she’s lost her appetite, her blood pressure is scary low, she has had a UTI and gets dehydrated. I called for second assessment; they came today and once again they were rejected her. What does it take for hospice to accept you? When you have 24 hours to live and you can fleece the insurance company? That’s not when you need them. This is a horrible program, and they actually inflict emotional harm on those who contact them. I would never recommend this hospice program to anyone, they are a disgrace.

Virginia Rzekonski I dont know about their hospice program, but the palliative program they started is not only bad but very cruel. After an intake, if they wont take you as a patient they wont return your calls or tell you, they just ghost you leaving you hanging. Having been under palliative care for several years now after being told by Hospital For Special Surgery, head of neuro at Westchester Med, my present palliative Dr who is retiring and my primary Dr i had no other options, seems HVHDCO deemed I was not a palliative patient. I had to call many times over and finally complain to get this information out of them. Stay away from their palliative team, they are cruel, unprofessional and lack the skills needed to be doing what they are attempting to do. Their nursing team puts themselves above some of the best hospitals, surgeons and Drs in the northeast. It was mind boggling. Be warned to stay away, as patients already suffering they will merely add to it in some very cruel ways.

Victoria Vaccaro my grandma was a patient since October 2021. she passed away last night, early this morning. I cannot begin to explain how grateful my family and I are to everyone who came here. Her nurses, Jolene & India, her aide Michelle, and the social workers (Kevon, Andrea, Stephanie) they were wonderful and words cannot explain how amazing they were. Everyone made her final days the best they could be. And my grandma went peacefully in her sleep, she was not in pain. She was talking to my grandpa who passed away in 2013, the night before, so i definitely think that’s who she crossed over with. thank you to everyone for all the incredible work you did.

Greg Conti My family and I want to offer our sincere thanks to Hudson Valley Hospice. When my father’s last days approached we called in Hudson Valley Hospice. The team rapidly responded and helped calm an exceptionally stressful time. They helped my father and the family throughout. As examples, he needed medication and it was delivered to his home in hours, the 24-hour help line regularly provided immediate expert advice, and our first meeting with a hospice nurse was compassionate and covered everything we needed to know. Once in hospice, my father and his caregiver had truly amazing support from an entire team of professionals. We couldn’t have asked for more. It takes special people to work in hospice, please accept our thanks for all your hard work and compassionate care. You are making a difference in the world.

Lisa Hurlburt This place was one of the few options available for getting STD tested during the pandemic (even Planned Parenthood isnt testing right now) and Im glad its where I ended up going. The receptionist, Lisa, was incredibly friendly and inviting. The medical staff were kind and compassionate. Even the janitor who helped me find my way out was remarkably nice. It isnt every day that you go somewhere and literally every employee you encounter is lovely. Based on my experience Id highly recommend Sun River Health. These people deserve accolades for working during the pandemic, continuing to offer services to the community that are so necessary but easily overlooked during these times.

J Oli The facilities are extremely maintained and cleaned, the staff are professional and courteous. But the non sense Bureaucracy still remains with the VA, the primary Doctors and specialists here are pretty much useless to the VET’s health. I’ve tried with them but I have to rely on my civilian insurance/doctors for my proper care. Maybe one day the VA will care for their VETS. Here they don’t. Departments like radiology poorly managed and will just had stress neglecting patient care. Receptionist Carol Clegg rude and disgruntled employee, another reason what’s wrong with the VA. Mental Health does the opposite at this hospital. Nurses incompetent.

sergio ocasio This place used to be such a pleasure to go to but the guy at the desk behind the glass to where you sign in to urgent care was very disrespectful for no apparent reason. I asked how he was doing and he was just rude for the entire conversation. Very disappointed

Janelle Marina Mendez As a native of the Hudson Valley and a service-connected veteran, Ive been using this VA for over a decade and have experience with both the Hudson Valley and Caribbean VA systems. Castle Point excels in specialist care, such as endocrinology, gastroenterology, gynecology, psychology, and psychiatry. The specialists here are consistently helpful, knowledgeable, and reliable, making specialist visits a 10/10. However, Urgent Care has been problematic since Dr. Sextons retirement. The subsequent urgent care doctors have sometimes made risky decisions, including a misdiagnosis that led to a life-threatening illness and an unsafe withdrawal from medication. While most staff members are kind and professional, there are occasional exceptions. Dr. Shah from the E2 department is exceptional and saved my life when I was in septic shock due to an urgent care doctors malpractice. Scheduling appointments with specialists can be challenging, but the quality of care makes it worthwhile. Overall, VA care outperforms private care on average, with a few urgent care exceptions.

Heather Pappalardi Dr. Kumar and his staff are awesome. His surgical team also Is great. He is straight to the point and I would recommend them.
5 /5
Shinaya Dr. Kumar saw my mother this morning and was extremely rude. It is taking everything in me not to use every swear word known to man in this review because what the hell are you getting paid for? Being a doctor is more than just diagnosing/treating, its hospitality. She will never be back and quite frankly, I would avoid this guy like the plague.

TenderPaws M Terrible, rude, and disorganized office staff. When writing to the doctor to complain, it appears that concerns were not taken seriously. There are 2 reasons why I gave him 2 stars instead of one. He diagnosed correctly and his nurses were great. Sadly, the same cant be said about practice manager (Radika Jordan) and the young male receptionist.

Betsy Ronel My mother was fortunate to be placed there after her knee started to give out. She LOVED this place. She had a dedicated team who tended to her every need. They were very communicative, responsive and proactive. They met her where she was. I felt so secure every day knowing she was in their care safely. She passed away of old age sadly. They were actively involved with her. They made her feel at home, seen, heard. They gave her her dignity, integrity, the respect our elders deserve. They truly cared for her. And she appreciated it every day. As did I. I HIGHLY recommend The Pines. There are fun things to do in the area as well. Thank you to everyone at The Pines! Thank you.

Jennifer Pittman My mother in law is there. She had back surgery and she is on blood pressure medication that makes her urinate more. They speak to her disrespectfully about having to clean her and tell her "Im not changing you". In peoples time of need to be spoke to without respect and not giving her dignity is SHAMEFUL. Dont send your love ones here.

Janine Miraglia My overall rating is 4 stars, but Samantha deserves 5 stars. She was wonderful in assisting us with the admission process as well as making sure that my mother had a place to return to after a trip to the hospital. She went out of her way to make it as easy as possible. The facility was very clean and secure. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful with a few that stood out. We really appreciated the extra compassion and patience provided by Maria, Corrine and Angel.

Natasha Paukovits This place should be shut down. My loved one is there now and they are not caring for anyone properly. 4 nurses sitting at the nursing station yet hes sitting in soiled linens. Fecal matter on paper towels on the floor. Soiled feces covered linens sitting on top of his dresser. Dirty Sheets balled up on the floor. They tried to put a pair of pants on him that were about 4 sizes too small to the point of pain and discomfort. The place smells rancid. Absolutely deplorable conditions. This is unacceptable. AVOID THIS FACILITY AT ALL COSTS! Shame on you. These are people for Gods sake. I can only imagine what happens to the people who have no loved ones visiting them. I know nursing homes are bad, but this is by far the WORST!

RoseMarie Geehern Had surgery with Dr barrick a year ago. Before surgery I thought he was alittle cocky and he talked very fast, not letting me get a word in, but I went ahead and did surgery anyway thinking it was my only choice. A couple months later I went back to him about the pain I was having a numbness down my legs and he blew me off and said I was fine and I need to wait a year and maybe I’ll feel better. Then he walked out the room and was talking about me to the nurse saying I was fine and had no pain. I made an apt in NYC with another Dr. who said what ever Dr barrick did cause me more damage and now I needed a spinal fusion. 2 months after that surgery I am 100% pain free. Dr. Barrick is a cocky dr who doesn’t listen. Would not recommend!

Ashley Witkiewicz Dr, Barrick is a life saver! I started seeing him in early 2017 for my neck. He’s very honest and doesn’t beat around the bush which is exactly what I needed. After 3 years of conservative treatment, it was determined that I needed a 2 level disc replacement. I sought out a few other opinions and they wanted to do a fusion which I was not comfortable with. Dr. Barrick took the time to have multiple visits answering all of my questions before scheduling the surgery (I was terrified! I am so beyond thankful for Dr. Barrick. I went from barely being able to look up, or left & right, I had numbness and tingling down my arm, I was dropping things. It was taking a toll on my quality of life for sure. The surgery was very successful. (Thank you doc!!) Recovery was brutal - not going to lie. But if I ever need surgery again, there’s no one else I trust more than Dr. Barrick.

Diana Francis Dr. Barrick was very particular and clear when informing my grandson of his orthopedic health. Dr. Barrick used language that a young teen could clearly understand, answered all our questions and made appropriate recommendations. We left the office feeling assured and confident. Thank you Dr. Barrick.

•Tasha• My daughter had her first appointment. She did well. It was time to see Dr Hugh. He was informative, but when I asked a question, he became very defensive or annoyed. I’m not a doctor. I thought asking questions is okay, especially for a 9 year old That’s not capable of advocating for herself. Just not really inviting and will find someone else. I will say the tech or nurse that did her allergy test, was awesome.

Amanda Leonard Dr. Hugh and his team are incredible!!!! I have been going for weekly allergy shots and am about to start monthly, they take my safety seriously as I had a reaction during my fourth series and I really appreciate them. His team is very knowledgeable and always happy to answer any questions or concerns I have. The front desk team are also great! Would highly recommend. My only suggestion is to ask for an epi pen to be prescribed right from the beginning because you never know.

Pine Roehrs The female receptionists have on two occasions been very unprofessional and rude. On the first occasion I had an appointment with dr hugh and he was running 45 minutes late and the nurses told me that the receptionists were told to notify me. I went to the front desk and explained I have a 2 year old at daycare that needed to be picked up and that I was never notified and the receptionist was flippant and dismissive and barely apologized for not calling me. The second incident happened 2 days ago. I had an appointment for allergy shots which I have been getting for a year an half and I walked into the waiting room and there was no other paitents there. I had checked in online for a 3.50 appointment. By 4:10 I went up to the female receptionist and said miss, I had a 3:50 appointment when will I be seen? Then she passive aggressively said to me well you didn’t come check in with me. Meanwhile there was no one else in the waiting room and she made me wait for almost 20 minutes without telling me to come up to her! I have never dealt which such rude and unprofessional female receptionists in my life. It’s enough for me to consider cancelling my remaining appointments. The nursing staff has been great to me. They are super friendly and always make an effort to get me in and out as fast as possible. The receptionists however need a lot more supervision and training.

Tracy Beveridge Dont contact this office! I made a new patient appointment a month ago and they informed me today that they did not have the capacity. The only reason we were notified was because our allergist was sending them the allergy shot serum. If our allergist did not call, we would have never known. Now I have to try to get another allergist to see my son by September 14th so he can continue his allergy shots without starting all over again. POOR MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!

Jerry Gartrell He’s a cool guy and all but he doesn’t really help and I feel as though he doesn’t care because when I explained my symptoms concerning my sinus infection all he did was see me for about 5 minutes and he was moving super quickly. He blew this air gadget device up one of my nostrils and went up my nose with something else showing me blood like I don’t know what I have going on with my self.. long story short because I can say a whole lot. I’ve been suffering with sinus infections for 14+ years. I was looking to get surgery done so I can get my breathing back to normal. This doctor didn’t want to understand what I was saying to him and all he did was prescribed me nasal sprays that I could buy at a local pharmacy. Those sprays did absolutely nothing for me because I am still suffering with those symptoms till this day. I’ve spent so much money just to be seen for five minutes seems like I was scammed. I paid $80 for copayment And next thing I know they are sending me a bill in the mail for $350 when I have insurance that should have covered everything . Remind you, I was only seen for five minutes and I am still suffering with my sinus infection. I am currently looking to see another doctor in another state because all this company wants is your pockets. I would never see this doctor again because he did absolutely nothing for me..

ALBERTO CABRERA The office itself is fine. But dont get Dr. Rodriguez unless you want a doctor who doesnt believe you have an illness. This doctor is the worst- DO NOT GO TO HIM!! Terrible doctor and racist, he only gave me an ointment for a dry mouth and told me that I have nothing and that that is his opinion even though I told him all the discomfort I have and he didnt want to do any medical study and I paid almost 300 dollars because I dont have health insurance for 5 minutes that he treated me and told me that I have nothing

Brian Iacopelli It is a crime to put this man below 5 stars Dr.Rodriguez is the best Doctor I have had the pleasure of seeing. I wish he was my primary doctor. He takes his time with his patients. Allows me to ask ALOT of questions. He is patient, knowledgable, charismatic, and truly the best Doctor you will find in Poughkeepsie. I don’t trust doctors up here and he’s the only person I trust. The people that gave him under 5 stars have no idea what they are talking about and I would put my life on a stack of bibles saying this is the best doctor I have ever seen. anthony My girlfriend spent days in vassar hospital with a jaw line /ear that was so inflamed she couldn’t open her mouth, she had severe pain and swelling. With the due diligence and kindness of hospital Staff she improved but there was still swelling and concern. The hospital wanted an ENT to take a look and tried getting a ENT in but nobody would come in so she was discharged and sent immediately to Dr Rodriguez. He was arrogant, dismissive, aggressive & rushed. He told her that the hospital always over reacts. When she showed him pictures of the progression of her swelling…he laughed. He told her she had an infection, she needed to take her antibiotic and she’d be fine. He then ran thru a few rushed tests . Without any warning or explanation sucked the wax, liquid whatever it was out of her ear. He told her to stop moving around. She told him he was hurting her. He didn’t adjust or say he was sorry. Just kept going on. He then sat down and said maybe she’s just an anxious woman and she didn’t realize it . He said she probably clenches her jaw unknowingly and just has TMJ As I said After a 4 day ordeal of uncertainty, pain & exhaustion . Exposure to this man was not what we needed. I cannot attest to anyone else in the practice but I don’t suggest seeing this man. She left rattled, upset and in the same pain she showed up with. In addition she was very defeated with no answers.

Julie Anne I have seen numerous ENTs before I met Dr. Rodriguez that have sent me home with antibiotics that didn’t seem to help. I had recurring throat infections for 6 years & a peritonsillar abscess that spontaneously drained 3x. I was waking up every night, getting throat infections monthly, & abscesses that could potentially be very dangerous. At my very first visit with Dr. Rodriguez, he confirmed my health concerns with me that all previous doctors had denied. He then told me that he would take care of me, & that he did. Just 1 month later, I had my tonsillectomy surgery performed by Dr. Rodriguez as an outpatient procedure right next door at Vassar Brothers Hospital. I am so thankful to have had a surgeon as informative and knowledgeable as Dr. Rodriguez. He’s experienced, professional, has a huge personality, & a phenomenal listener. (For most of my visits I went on & on about my symptoms) I can’t say enough to express my satisfaction. I am now 3 days post-op tonsillectomy, most of my pain has subsided and I can breathe like never before!! No physician has brought me the relief that Dr. Rodriguez has. - *It’s now been 4 months since my tonsillectomy surgery & I haven’t gotten sick since before my surgery. Not even a small cold. My voice sounds a lot less congested & I almost can’t believe I was in so much pain before- this is your sign to see Dr. Rodriguez for all your ear, nose & throat related concerns. :)

The doctor was running behind schedule and not one person had the common courtesy to communicate. Communication is the key. If I didn’t appreciate Sr Coleman, I would have pulled my OV out and left. Found out I should have had Tylenol prior to even going into the OR, that never happened. Found it interesting the Clinical Coordinator Joline became my nurse and not one time did ever apologize for the lack of anything. I am actually reporting this practice to Professional Misconduct- patient neglect. And know I would e recommend this place to anyone

Hypnosis And Magic It was an Incredible Experience For one overly Scared Patient who had tried in earnest to avoid surgery, I wish I had scheduled surgery before attempting the slow, arduous months of physical therapy, hoping that the severe fall on the ice I had, onto concrete edging along the road I live on, while putting out the garbage one wintry night, would someone miraculously heal itself. From checking in at the front desk at the Surgery Center at 6:30 AM, to the 2 wonderfully kind, assisting nurses and the helper assistant, and of course, my surgeon, Dr. Michael Schweppe, everyone was extremely caring, comforting and they listened to me (a rare trait in many of the medical facilities Ive been in) to reassure me that the facility and the doctor had a extremely high rate of success in the procedures I had come in for. I had a 6:30 AM check-in. The arthroscopic imaging revealed that I needed 2 repairs because of my fall, one was a subacromial Decompression and an Arthroscopy Debridement and NOT the bicep tendonitis repair (of which I feared, because it would have a long recovery time). The doctor and anesthesiologist were talking at the foot of my bed when the anesthesia kicked in, and 2 hours later, in what seemed like seconds, it was over. My doctor was at the foot of the bed giving me the good news. Not only the facility, but Dr. Schweppe, called me the next day to answer any questions I had about the operation and to go over again the discharge instructions and follow up. Having had a negative impression of most facilities and hospitals Ive been in, I was amazed at the efficiency and professionalism of The Surgery Center (they dont make you feel like a piece of meat with a social security number) .... I wish I could thank them all, but Im hoping this surgery is a once in a lifetime experience and I remain healthy until St. Peter blows his horn.

Alissa Jameson Trying to schedule surgery is like pulling teeth. Both myself and the doctor/surgeon had left messages for the scheduler over an 2 1/2 week span and it was not until I left a message with the manager did I get a surgery date that had been discussed weeks prior. It should have been a red flag on the spot when I got the call desk and they said “yeah IF she’s even at her desk otherwise you’ll just have to leave a message and wait.” The day before surgery I was told I’d get a call so I asked if I didn’t hear anything by 3pm should I call…no no you’ll hear way before that… 315pm I leave a message returned by someone filling in for previously mentioned scheduler at 340pm to be told my surgery is at 615am. When I arrived all of the staff was extremely nice, caring, friendly and helpful except for one OR nurse. She was rude and didn’t wait for me to transfer completely over to the table onto a squished up bean bag and when I was trying to adjust I was like this is extremely uncomfortable and digging into my rib cage(that still hurts) Her response “well yeah you’re on a rolled up bean bag obviously it’s gonna be uncomfortable” to which when I went to move she told them to put me to sleep and that was it before I woke up in recovery. Not the last memory I want to have of going under for a surgery. Do better. Have some bedside manner.

Rich LeMond If you go to the The Heart Center ask first what billing codes they are going to use when billing your insurance provider!!! They bill this Center under hospital procedures when it is a lab. The reason being they are paid more under hospital codes and unfortunately most patient insurances only cover a portion of hospital expenses i.e. 80/20; therefore, you will have far more out of pocket expenses than planned. In my case, I had an EKG, Ecco and monitor tests all took about 45 minutes, if billed properly I would have paid approx. $250 instead I was billed $2,500+ due to it being billed under hospital codes. You have recourse!!! I have reported this to the NYS Attorney Generals Office for patient advocate healthcare. I have photos of the room the tests were conducted in along with billing codes. NYS AG will investigate this poor billing practice.

ryan young First appointment (3months to get) with a physician was in Sharon CT - 1.2 hours from home. Took day off work and procured babysitter. Show up and physician was on sabbatical and nobody bothered to call. On reschedule, despite my calling in advance and being reassured that they were open, I showed up during snow and they were closed, and nobody bothered to call. Then had a tilt test, again took off work, procured a babysitter, showed up and was then told the test could not happen as I ate in the morning and did not come with an extra driver. Again, nobody bothered to tell me those instructions. Obviously, my time is not valuable to these people. Of note, the physician that I saw was capable so if you are willing to waste a ton of time with their ancillary staff, it is up to you.

Ofer Tchernichovski Our experience with the Heart Center was mixed: initially, diagnosis efforts by Dr. Ling seemed appropriate. She clearly cares, and swiftly ordered several diagnostic tests. Things got derailed when the tests came back negative. She dismissed the clinical symptoms, and trusted the negative tests results. Unfortunately, the ischemia test gave a false-negative (it is only 80% accurate). I cannot blame Dr. Ling, tests can be misleading, but I wish she had listened to us and kept digging. Other than that, our experience with both the pacemaker team, and the triage nurses, was not great. They are often less then proficient, and seem lazy, trying to brush off concerns and sending you elsewhere. In the end, switching to another center was life saving.

Fred Couse Had bypass surgery here in June (2021). My surgeon was not only exceptional, but kept me fully informed in a reassuring manner. The staff in this office are top notch, warm, and supportive. Bypass surgery is not a pleasant experience but ALL of the staff of this office made extraordinary efforts to make it much less so.

Elle KD I’ve been coming to Sun River since it was Hudson health. Clean facilities, front desk receptionists are working hard to get the line down. I was there for my appointment about 30 min early and was able to observe things. Supervisors are always walking around making sure the staff and patients are ok. The back offices are really short staffed and they seem to work as a team. The wait time to see Dr. Simpson is long but she does a very thorough check up. There is definitely a positive change over the last 10 months.

Lauren Mitchell The actual people I’ve dealt with(doctors nurses reception staff) are absolutely wonderful and care genuinely about what patients. However, the entire scheduling system/patient portal leave a a lot to be desired. My providers are never listed on their doctors which doesn’t allow me to use the patient portal for almost anything (which I was instructed to use to schedule stuff) and you can’t call the offices directly, only the 1800 call center so can’t even speak with the people in my particular branch office about anything which make it’s an uncomfortable impersonal scheduling situation for ‘sensitive issues’.

M C Horrible customer service I just received. I did not get the woman’s name, but I just tried to make an appointment for an eye exam. I explained that I am a first time patient at this office. She began to tell me that I need a referral from my primary care doctor to make an appointment here. I have never heard of that before. I explained that my insurance networked me with them, and asked why I need to go to my primary just to be able to make an appointment here. No clear answer, just aggressively telling me they don’t accept new patients without a referral , like I was stupid and should have known this.also this woman did not speak clear English, and before you say I’m being racist I’m a Hispanic woman saying this. Just called the Amenia location and made an appointment with no issue or bs explanation. She made absolutely 0 sense and needs better training and needs to learn how to professionally speak to people

Kelly Raymond Overall when I got there it was nice I went to family partnership location... Just wish there was more people around when I left. There was no receptionist or anyone really in the matter. They had to give me cash to get home. I would have had called medical transportation if I wasnt waiting for so long. By the time I was done with my exam they were closing and it was to late for me to call for medical transportation because it was after 5PM. When I needed help there was no one at the front desks there was no one around only person that helped me was a woman named millie. Which she was excellent on making sure I got home safe. Here are some photos I took because there was no one. Make sure you make your appointments in the morning. Fyi.

Andrea Horrible service. Wish I could put zero stars but a one star will suffice. Everytime I come here, we have to wait MINIMUM an hour and even then were still not seen by the doctor. Had an appointment scheduled at 4 and they changed it to a emergency/walk in appointment, when I had scheduled the appointment ahead of time(more than a week). Just bad.

Brenda Taddeo I have been a patient here for about 2 years. I started out with a " Student" who was amazing . He has graduated and moved on and I was assigned another "Student" who I liked very much and preferred to make all my future appointments with her. I called to refill a prescription and was told I have to come in every 3 months or I will not recieve refills for my medications. I had an appointment scheduled already with my Dr but it exceeded the 3 month mark and I was denied my refill unless I make an appointment immediately with a Dr. I dont even know or worse yet a Dr.(Student) I was forced to see that I never wanted to go back to again. I said no thank you and kept my appointment with my Dr. and now I have My pharmacy contacting me that I have another prescription that needs a refill and this practice is refusing to fill any of my prescriptions. This has got to be a joke. My appointment is scheduled for approximately 6 weeks away but they will not refill anything until I come in and meet with a Student of their choosing. Ive never heard of anything so ridiculous and feel forced and intimidated to do something I dont want to do in order to get my medication that they put me on. Now Im extremely uncomfortable to even go back at all. I have no problem coming in to be seen I just want to see my own Dr. but I have to wait because shes booked up. I took the next available appointment but to deny my medication because I dont want to see another Student? Is it just me or is this unprofessional? Im just not getting this at all.

Whatsit Toyou. *Edit* after looking further into this place. This place is nothing but students working here under one doctor who is never here. This is a very unprofessional place and needs to be shut down and looked into. DO NOT GO HERE. This is one of the WORST places we have ever been to. The nurses are INCREDIBLY rude and just plain stupid. Not only do you have to repeat everything five damn times before they can get it straight, they mix your info up with other patients. Who ever is answering the phones here HAS TO BE on drugs. If you call to say your going to be late by 10 minutes do to traffic they put you on hold to speak to an "imaginary" manager who isnt even there when you walk in 2 minutes later. Then argue with you saying "you havent even been on the phone with us for one minute" when they have had you on the phone for five minutes on hold. They all need to be fired they clearly do not want their jobs. On top of all that these arnt even doctors working here its student doctors who dont know what they are doing.

Edith Perez I arrived at Nuvance Health in Poughkeepsie NY at 2:58 PM with pain in my left upper back. The pain takes my breath away and I was triaged right away. The Nurse Practitioner told me my pain was muscular without doing a proper assessment. I was told to wait in the waiting room and eight hours went by and not one nurse or doctor showed up. At 11:14 I asked a nurse if he could check when would I be called in to be seen by the doctor, he very politely told me that they were understaffed and that I might be discharged right out of the waiting room. No doctor would come and see me nor would anyone would address my condition. I am a cardiac patient, with a chronic diabetes, arthritis and a bunch of other complications and I was left to wait in a waiting room with 0 compassion, care or treatment. I used to think Vassar Brothers Hospital was a good hospital but unfortunately that has changed. W waiting room with more than 50 people waiting to be seen, very poorly staffed and lacking in patient care. Just because I did not scream or used foul language it doesn’t mean my pain is not real. I hope this goes viral. To have a nice looking hospital that does not care about the patients that trust their health to them, should not remain in operation.

Desiree Roberts I was in the ER last night in excruciating pain. They were absolutely packed and didn’t have a bed for me. They got me into a very comfortable chair in a hallway, which was fine for me, as quickly as they could. They even made sure my husband had a chair to sit with me. The nurses made every effort to check on me every time they rushed by. They were communicative and attentive. I moved to the area 2 years ago and have heard a lot of bad reviews from locals. I was so nervous to be there but it was unwarranted. I cannot say how grateful I am for the ladies that worked with me in the early morning hours, and the doctor (Pete, I believe?) that helped me and even gave me the name of an ENT to follow up with. Y’all are incredible and under appreciated.

Peter Taylor Ive been to this ER a few times with my kids. I thought that the doctor in the pediatric ER was very good, and also the nurses and doctors in the main ER. However, when it comes to the rest of the workers, Ive noticed that they are very loud and often congregate in groups which gets even louder. For some reason, there seems to be nobody with the authority to quiet them down. I feel sorry for the seriously ill people who have to experience this.

J R I came into the ER with a condition called "Hells itch" from bad sunburn. It was so painful and intense I physically could not stop myself from scratching my body. Staff aggressively told me my behavior is bizarre. Maybe because I felt like I was being lit on fire? So the staff proceeded to treat me like I was a psychopath or some sort of drug addict having a meltdown. They had me sit in a chair in a hallway for two hours with nobody coming by to tend to me at all. Finally my symptoms started to subside from the Benadryl I took before I left my house. They sent me home after basically telling me "Yeah man sunburn sucks, next time put aloe vera on it" Basically completely minimizing the entire problem by pretending I was just having an anxiety attack and making it up. This place is unprofessional and staffed by morons. If you have the option, go be seen literally anywhere else

Sehija Krcic This hospital and the entire city and town of Poughkeepsie are so blessed to have Dr. Biswas, Dr. Patel, and Dr. Khan. Dr. Biswas and Dr. Patel performed a successful thrombectomy on my 88-year old father that ultimately saved his life after he had an awful stroke. All 3 doctors were so thorough in explaining my father’s condition. They not only showed us images of x-rays and scans, but they explained absolutely everything in simple layman’s terms, so that we could fully absorb what we were being told. They answered every question we had (and we were neurotic with endless questions!!). They never showed any kind of annoyance, we were never dismissed by any of them - even when they were clearly busy with other matters. Dr. Khan, who is in the ICU, was nothing short of amazing - instructing and educating the staff every chance he had, with pep talks and constant supervision and direction. It was truly refreshing to see that kind of team work. He was a joy to speak with and watch in action. The majority of the nurses were absolutely wonderful. Kind, compassionate, informative - everything you’d want someone to be when they are taking care of your loved one. The rehab staff is absolutely INCREDIBLE. I was in tears when we left because the team was so supportive every step of the way. My father made an enormous amount of progress thanks to this group of glorious therapists! We had a very good experience at this hospital and it was during a really difficult and traumatic time. We are forever grateful. I am in the process of writing a long letter of praise that will include the names of the generous and selfless souls who helped my father and my family.

Jamie M This review is specifically for the ophthalmology department. Everyone from the woman on the phone who scheduled my appointment, to the tech, to the doctor was unbelievably condescending, rude, and unprofessional. I have never been in a medical practice where everyone interrogated me & asked the same question repeatedly, almost as if they felt I was making up the issue I was seen for. They even went as far as to make snide remarks about and belittle the doctor who had referred me there! I waited an hour past my appointment time to be seen.. But they sure were quick to collect that copay in the waiting room beforehand. All around just an awful & unwelcoming practice.

Margarita Marcano Absolutely DISGUSTING I am a former patient of Dr. Garb, who has left the practice. I understand that Optum currently has no doctors accepting patients at this location. However, the transition has not been handled smoothly, and it appears there is a plan to relocate both my husband and me. This approach seems unprofessional and does not reflect well on the management. While the practice may change names, it consistently falls short in providing the level of care and service one would expect.

Daniel Deltheor Ive been a patient at this practice for years, but its steadily gone downhill until now. Its sad to see this place as a decrepit shadow of its former self; the doctors used to be fantastic, yet with all the changes, many are leaving (rightfully so), and the staff who have stayed quite frankly should not have. My primary care doctor left last year, with little to no notice, and said they were retiring (when they in fact moved to a different practice and did not mention this to any of their patients. I found this out by myself months after the fact). I was in a sensitive medical position at the time and needed paperwork for my job, which due to my doctors sudden absence, they refused to give me. I tried to make an appointment with a new doctor at the practice, one that was recommended by the staff, so I did. 6 months after the initial medical incident, I was happy to have a new primary care. Yet the staff told me I could not set the doctor as a primary care. The doctor they recommended to me to get an appointment with as a replacement primary care. This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of recent events with this practice, but it was the final straw for me. I like to think of myself as a loyal man, but I refuse to be loyal to a practice who has done nothing but hurt me for the past couple years. I will be looking for another primary care practice. I highly suggest other people do the same.

Jacqueline Stinger So - I am understanding if there is any sort of technical power outage or computer system glitch - however, when you have someone scheduled for an appt and an inconvenient event happens to cause you to reschedule every appt for the day, I suggest you choose a better public service announcement to the community that is scheduled for that day. This morning, I called the office and experienced the phone outage, that was fine and i was patient . I spoke with on call 3 times and I continued to try to call which made it known that the automatic recording went from "after hours" to "phone outage" and proceeded to lead the caller to "On Call" - there was a clear message that the phones were not working and that communication was limited, yet there was no message about current day appts / rescheduling or office being open or closed - i kindly was patient and just asked on call a couple times out of curiosity if it was worth my FORTY FIVE MINUTE DRIVE to the office, because it wasnt secured that the service would be provided - the on call was never instructed to reschedule or mention the office is technically not seeing any patients due to this outage - its understandable, yet they should have been properly informed to prevent angry patients - I drove FORTY FIVE MINUTES THERE AND BACK, just to walk and hear EXACTLY what I called in advance for . Next time, include in the recorded message that you are rescheduling or NOT OPEN FOR VISITS or inform your operator on call to have the nice information to save the time out of someone day - the receptionist in office did not seem to care, yet i had to rearrange my entire day and use my own effort to refrain myself from being vocal to her - its not her fault, yet the owner or whoever recorded the message/informed the on call of the outage, should have been more considerate. Unacceptable - Waste of Gas, PTO, Energy and Kindness. Based on these previous reviews, I should have known better - I will find elsewhere.

Transferred my husband from a regular room to the ICU without telling me. Phone numbers on the discharge paperwork are incorrect. When calling to make followup appointments, could not reach the doctors offices. Discharge paperwork said to make the appointments for 2 - 4 weeks. I finally got an appointment seven weeks out. I thought Vassar was supposed to be one of the best hospitals in the nation. I guess not.

Angela Poor care and no privacy?!? What was this joke of an experience? I came in because an urgent care DR had recommended I go to an ER due to difficulty swallowing and severe ear/neck/jaw pain. I then get placed in a maybe 5 by 5 space, with just a sheer curtain divider between patients. I could hear everything!!! Thats definitely a huge Hippa violation!! What the hell?!? Huge red flags!!! I should not be able to hear those things, and patients should not hear what is going on with me. I will be reporting the hippa violations to HSS because that was truly unexceptable. Then the doctor comes in. They asked a few questions, checked throat and ears, swabs for strep, gave me a steroid and pain relief shot. OK, cool some progress maybe? However, still not addressing the actual issues of my ear/jaw/neck. Then strep comes back negative and the doctor started treating me completely differently! "You have no fever, your tonsils look fine, theres no edema." I told them I was taking Tylenol and ibuprofen for my pain, which are fever reducers.. Of course I dont have a fever!!! I also told them that the pain wasnt just my throat, its also my neck/jaw/ear and that the throat was not why I came in! They acted like I was in there just to waste her time. Im sorry, but I went there at the advice of a medical doctor. I know how important it is to keep the emergency rooms open. But how is difficulty swallowing and sudden severe pain in your head not something emergent? Then the doctor dismissed my concerns, blamed it on "being sick." Then vert rudely, she said "Theres no magic pill that can cure you." Seriously?!?! I cant believe I heard a medical provider say that to me. So disrespectful and just poor bedside manner. Of course there is not a magic pill, but thats why we have doctors, no? She turned, absolutely unprofessional, cold , dismissive. She then said she prescribed some steroids for inflammation and put in my for discharge papers. Not even a referral to an ENT? Is that not who I should see for ear/jaw/neck/throat pain? Ive been sick plenty of times and have never, ever felt the pain Im experiencing. I didnt come in for a "sore throat," so why were they treating it as such? Im so displeased. Did not feel cared for at all. My medical information did not feel safe, and I was exposed to hearing about other patients privacy. Such a shame too, because I had all 4 of my kids at Vassar and those were very great experiences with amazing providers. I really trusted you with my care, but this has left me extremely bitter. I would rather go anywhere else. Edit to add.... I saw a dentist a few days later, who told me to see an ENT and oral surgeon for a lump on my tongue and in my throat. How could a doctor overlook that entirely? When I went in with those complaints. She should be ashamed of herself.

Nina Keating Positive Care and Support at Nuvance Health Vassar Brothers Medical Center We recently needed to go to the emergency room at Nuvance Health Vassar Brothers Medical Center with our very ill mother. She was subsequently admitted to ICU. From the moment we arrived, the staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism and compassion. Efficient Check-In Process: The check-in process from ambulance arrival to a dedicated room was seamless, and the staff was warm and welcoming. She was quickly attended to. Compassionate and Skilled Team: The doctors, nurses, and support staff were not only knowledgeable but also compassionate. They took the time to explain every step of our mother’s treatment plan in detail, even the difficult parts, ensuring we understood everything. Though there were many professionals who contributed to her treatment, we want to thank Nurse Laura in ICU and Dr. Yaw Apenteng for their care and support of Mom. Clean and Well-Maintained Facilities: The hospital environment was clean and modern, reflecting their commitment to providing a safe and comfortable space for the patient and their family. Prompt and Effective Treatment: Despite the busy nature of the emergency room, Mom received prompt attention. The team worked efficiently to diagnose what was going and provided appropriate treatment. Support During Difficult Decisions: When faced with difficult decisions regarding Mom’s care, the team provided invaluable guidance and support. They presented options clearly and compassionately, helping us make informed decisions that aligned with Mom’s needs and wishes. Overall Experience: Our experience at Nuvance Health Vassar Brothers Medical Center was positive. We experienced appropriate medical care, a compassionate staff, and a well-organized system. The support and guidance provided during difficult decision-making moments were particularly appreciated.

After reading some of the negative comments and ratings, I felt compelled to share my own experience. I arrived at the ER and was seen immediately, then taken to a separate room. The hospital itself was new and exceptionally clean, and even the food service exceeded expectations—they carefully addressed my dietary needs and promptly fulfilled any requests. The cleaning staff were efficient, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The nursing staff went above and beyond to care for me, always attentive and compassionate. Ina Pottorff I came into the ER by Ambulance and got a room almost immediately. The nurse was there within 3 minutes assisting me. There was a wait for the PA to come in but the CT Scans, x-rays & labs that were ordered happened quickly and efficiently. Getting the results, however took a long time. Thankfully it wasnt as bad as it couldve been but at that point it was very hard to get anything or anyone. My family had to go find someone else to get some juice, and later some tissues. As usual discharge took about an hour before we got the orders and release. Since it was past midnight, the doctor couldnt give me the necessary meds, but as promised she called them in and they were ready first thing in the morning. Mid-Hudson is my hospital of choice simply because it is not as much of a madhouse as other local hospitals. I also appreciate the follow-up emails.

julie cracco Brought my 5 year old son there on a Sunday morning. We were registered as soon as we walked in and then triaged right away. I was pleased with this process. We were then taken into an ER room. I was in complete disbelief by the lack of cleanliness of the room (see photos). My son was eventually seen, though I disagreed about the need of having him tested for Covid/ flu/ RSV he was tested (everything was negative). Our stay was over 5 hrs; we were discharged being told whatever he had was most likely viral. During the stay, not once was he offered a pillow or blanket, or anything to drink/eat. The room was by a door where an employee sat to monitor an entrance/ exit to the hospital. Other employees came and chatted with him, this was right outside our door, and profanities were used without of any consideration of the young patients who were in surrounding rooms… I came here to avoid the crazy wait times that Vassar has been known to have and admittedly, we were put in an ER room rather quickly. However due to the lack of patient consideration and state of filth, I’ll think twice about making my way back to this ER.

Kathy Corrao My husband has had multiple hospitalizations over the past 8 months. We have been taking him to MidHudson Regional each time as we found that the other, larger, local hospital gave dangerously substandard care. Each time we have gone to Mid-Hudson, my husband was treated with the utmost care & respect. He was given the necessary treatments in a timely manner & discharged as soon as necessary. The staff is wonderful. Every nurse and doctor we have dealt with has been helpful and explained things so we could understand what was going on. At this point, MHRH is the only hospital we will use.

aaa bbb A few times I was in tears- but not at all because of this staff. In the emergency psychiatric wing of the hospital are the SWEETEST workers ever. Everybody was kind and sympathetic. Theyre constantly bombarded and harassed by patients, cursed at and yelled at and show a bit of agitation in return to said patients. But when youre kind to them, they return that favor as well. They give updates voluntarily, thank you for patience and chat with you. Overall fantastic assistance unless you act like a king amongst peasants whos the only patient in the hospital.
