5 /5 Charles Ferguson: I have been diagnosed with cancer of the neck.The fear you feel hearing the words, youve got cancer is devastating. My heart dropped into my stomach and I immediately thought its over. My ENT Dr ( Dr. Buck) talked to me slowly and informed me how far cancer research has come and that I was facing a 90% survival rate. That it would require chemo and radiation but said we got this. A team was formed around me with Dr. Singh and Dr. Nguyen at the lead. Two gentlemen that explain cancer with you not to you. Their knowledge and experience give you comfort and confidence that cancer is not a death sentence. I am at the beginning of my journey. I start my radiation in two days get a port for the chemo the next day and will start that process soon after. The reason for this post is not about my story. Its about the staff that Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, TX has assembled. A staff that makes you feel like you matter. I have felt comfortable and was treated with dignity and respect on every visit. Compation is the word I would use. I am going into battle with an enemy that wants to take my life. But my spirit soul feel comfortable with the people around me. With God , I will prevail.

The doctors, nurses, and staff were nothing short of exceptional, attending to every detail with professionalism and compassion. Their ability to provide such attentive care, even as we navigated the challenges of being away from home in Alabama, was truly remarkable. They made a stressful situation manageable by treating us with kindness and ensuring my sons comfort and recovery were prioritized every step of the way. We are forever grateful for their dedication and expertise.
