5 /5 Miles E: The Brush Square Museums are one of the hidden treasures of the Austin downtown area. Very affordable day activity. Park at the convention Center parking garage for $10 and enjoy the museums for free. Theres a small gift area in the OHenry house, and a playable horizontal baby grand. Check out the art from the streets exhibit, a penny pressing machine, and find a specialized reading room in the Susanna Dickinson house.

5 /5 Melissa Terpstra: Beautiful site with two historic houses. Well maintained. Open to the public. Guides available to give information about the former residents. Great to have this lovely piece of history in downtown Austin still.

4 /5 Edward Beheler: A nice little park in a sea of concrete and steel. Some nice trees for shade or climbing are here. Some of the trees look easily climbable too, if that kind of thing is what youre into.
