I deal with sensory issues and chronic skin picking, so getting my nails done is a great way to curb that habit. I’ve gone to many salons trying to find one that I felt listened to me and was sensitive to my needs. This salon was referred to me over a Frisco FB group and I’m so glad I went.
I see Vanessa, and right off the bat, I told her I wanted polish. She suggested gel, for more durability, but at first I said no, just polish. And she listened. Then after a couple appointments, I decided to take her recommendation to do gel. I really liked the gel! But I kept breaking nails. So then she gently recommended dip, which I was 100% against, because in the past, it felt heavy on my fingertips and I didn’t like it. So we stuck with gel for a while. Then I took her recommendation on dip, and she applied it thinly, and I will never look back!
Vanessa (and all the technicians) are SO incredibly sweet and LISTEN to what I’m asking. I also ask for no lotion on my hands (because of sensory issues) and Vanessa has remembered that every single time. She gave me space to do what I wanted, with light suggestions, and let me build trust with her. Now I’d trust her with my life!
