1.Joseph S Baler MD
Address: 4 Palisades Dr #240, Albany, NY 12205
(13) Reviews Joseph S Baler MD:
Patrick Cartwright I feel compelled to write a review here because Dr. Baler is just the best medical professional I have encountered.
He is a no nonsense, but tell you everything kind of expert. I feel very confident that he is providing the best, most up to date and caring medical advice. I trust him.
I agree with others that his office is well run and friendly.
Thank you, Dr. Baler, for being the very model of a professional.
Highly recommended.

Sara Busone Dr Baler is the best! Knowledgable, explains everything, friendly and professional. Courteous front desk staff, too.

Beth Edelman Dr. Baylor is a fine doctor; however, due to absurd business hours and long lunches, leaving a message is impossible, and one can only either cancel an appointment or take an emergency call, and will not allow me to confirm my existing appointment. The office has called repeatedly to confirm, and the service they use is so limited that a confirmation is not possible, and there is no web site. I asked the young lady to call it an emergency and confirm an appointment, so that she could fulfill her job description, but that was beyond her pay grade, apparently. Poor patient service.

Jane Dr. Baler and his office practice the kind of dermatology and medicine that is hard to find these days. Hes a solo practitioner and doesnt use a PA--you will see a physician when you come to his office (Dr. Baler himself). He has even recorded his offices voicemail greeting.
His office is efficient; you can tell hes an excellent employer because he keeps the same staff, year after year. You never wait more than five minutes. They dont make billing mistakes.
The staff has always treated me with courtesy and have taken the time to listen to me when I call with a problem. If I have needed something--a refill, or to see the doctor for an urgent problem such as widespread poison ivy (Im highly allergic), I have always been accommodated.
That said, I am an existing patient of many years. Of course it is a long wait to become a new patient---he has a full roster of existing, satisfied patients. My husband had to wait some months to see him as a new patient, but he had no emergency or discomfort, and Im sure they would have tried to work him in or refer him elsewhere if he had.
Dr. Baler is also an excellent, highly experienced and knowledgeable dermatologist. He has always accurately diagnosed and treated the various skin problems Ive had over the years, and some of them have been urgent--in one case, potentially postponing major surgery (and he saw me ASAP in that instance, treated me, and I was able to have the surgery as planned).
In another case, two weeks before my wedding, I developed a mysterious rash all over my body. Again he saw me immediately, knew exactly what I had and how to treat me, and Im happy to say that I had clear skin at my wedding.
Or the time I had a rash on my arms and upper chest--he took one look at me and said "this is poison ivy. Do you have a big dog?" Indeed we did, and hed been wandering in a section of our wooded yard with poison ivy. The pattern of the rash showed Id been hugging him. Mystery solved, prescription dispensed.
In another case, I had a stubborn plantars wart, and he told me immediately that they can be difficult to cure, but if his treatment didnt work, another local dermatologist had an experimental treatment that he would refer me for. He was delighted when that doctor was finally able to help me.
I trust him.
Finally, he does no cosmetic procedures--as so many dermatologists do, using various subordinate staff to perform them, factory-style, to make a lot of money: e.g. laser hair removal, skin peels, etc. In those cases you may never see a doctor!
This is not Dr. Balers ethic. He is a physician interested in practicing medicine in his field. If you are interested in cosmetic dermatology, however, he will refer you to the person he most trusts.
I will be very sad when and if Dr. Baler ever retires!

ann marie laux Just called to set up an appointment for my son. My insurance company told me this was the only office within 50 miles of my home that accepts pediatrics as well as his insurance. When I called and explained this to the woman who answered the phone, I received a very rude reply about every dermatologist accepting pediatrics, "thats what they are trained to do!" I didnt spend the past two days calling offices only to be told that they do not accept pediatric patients to be spoke to in such a condescending manner. I will expand my search up to 100 miles instead of dealing with this office.

Ivan colon The Orthopedics Unit is terrible. They ask you to get blood and ekg at a local clinic which takes alot of time. Doesnt matter if youre in agony. Appointments are a month or two out for everything. You need an MRI, that will be 4 months of waiting. Rediculous!

Zoë Maldonado I wasnt sure what to expect when Dr. Devito came into the room with his strong and booming personality lol! He seemed intimidating at first but turned out to be kind. He addressed all my concerns, and was gentle with the check up -- which, if youve ever gotten something put all the way up your nose into your throat -- not fun at all. He made the process as easy and stress-free as possible.

Stacy Lewis I was pleasantly surprised and encouraged after calling recently to make an appointment for my husband. We were able to schedule an appointment for less than a week away and the man I spoke to was very helpful on the phone. He listened well even though the call went quickly everything was correctly scheduled. I’m excited to get some solutions figured out for my husband’s deviated septum. The plan is to schedule a septoplasty surgery to solve chronic sinus infections and post nasal drip issues.
Update: We got a solution without surgery! My husband is doing great on the prescription that he was given and it has helped tremendously. We thought we already tried medicines and this wouldn’t be different or help, but it has!

Natalie Martin Worst doctor I’ve ever had the pain of enduring. Told my child (7 years old) he needed to “grow up” because his ego did not want to acknowledge he provided the wrong ear medications. What an absolute waste of time. If you love yourself or people in your life, stay away from Michael Devito and his horrifying practice. Father is an uneducated douchebag as well. Don’t waste your time, energy or finances.

Andrea Piela The worst Dr I have ever encountered! He swore several times during the visit, terrible abrupt bedside manner, dismissive, and did NOT physically evaluate me. Hours later he noted down in my chart descriptive details of an exam that included what the inside of my ears, mouth and nose looked like. He never once examined me!! This is fraud ! I was appropriate, calm and polite as noted on his own notes from the visit. I have submitted an official complaint with Albany Med and will also notify my insurance company. There was also an unrelated diagnosis added to my chart for something I was never diagnosed with, complained about symptoms of, or have ever even heard of.

Letocom Dr. Devito is an exceptional doctor and surgeon. He was highly recommended by a good friend. If you like being told the straight story and no fluff - like me - he is for you! Reading all of this stuff with terrible bedside manner is all nonsense to me. I wish more doctors were up front and honest! I also found his staff to be courteous and professional.

Laura Passantino My husband Vincent had shoulder surgery on January 2nd with Dr. Tenuta. It went very well. He received outstanding care from this doctor plus all staff involved. They checked and double checked every step. From anesthesiologist to release all were professional and very caring. Passing the desk on the way out I thanked everyone at the nurses station for taking such good care of him! “We love our veterans!” was the reply. Fisher house was amazing as well! We are also grateful for every department at Stratton for his continuous care.

Theodore Bielawa My Uncle Frank J Bielawa was admitted to the /Albany /VA the first week of December recovering from Pneumonia and Covid-19. He unfortunately suffered a massive stroke just days into his recovery and is now receiving End of Life care.
Frank is a 99 year old WW2 Veteran and the care hes receiving from the VA Staff on 8th Floor/ B Corridor has been Outstanding.
The attending staff across all 3 shifts has attended to my uncle keeping him comfortable and clean in such a respectful and professional manner, its been overwhelming from my past experiences visiting other private facilities.
For Veterans who are in need of Medical Help and Assistance, the Albany VA and the Staff of the 8 Floor are the Standard for Excellence in Veteran Care.
On behalf of my Uncle Frank who has lost the ability to communicate, thank you , thank you , thank you ...10 Stars

Maria Martinez My husband is a veteran, and he is being treated in Albany V.A. Last Monday, December 17, 2024, he had an intervention from Albany Med and then he was transferred back to Albany Veterans Hospital, when I go back to the Veterans Hospital to the first floor at information area is employed with an unprofessional attitude and with a not very friendly attitude and I was trying to explain to her that I wanted to know what room my husband was in, that he had received an intern surgery ect ect and then this lady asks me in Spanish, do you speak Spanish? and I said yes and she told me because your English is horrible, I let her finish and she was trying to speak Spanish and her Spanish was just as bad or worse, (my mother tongue is Spanish, but I defend myself in English, Its not perfect but I dare to talk about it) my point is that a "professional" person should not speak like that to a person or patient who visits a hospital, I already know her last name and I told her that I am going to report her. for not being a professional and trying to belittle or want to humiliate me because of my English and to top it all off I am Hispanic, her last name is Santana, I had never had the bad taste of meeting an employee as despicable as her

Ward Capeci I am surprised to see negative reviews about Albany Stratton VA. I have used their services for years. I see my GP regularly, have been referred to and seen by Specialty Clinicians and have had 3 operations performed here. I have nothing bad to say about any of them. I have always been treated with the utmost of respect and received the best care possible by a professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I have not once had an unpleasant experience. From the moment I walk in the door I am greeted by smiling faces. The folks in the blood labs, pharmacy, optometry and cafeteria work every bit as hard to make me feel valued as the various doctors and nurses I see. The facilities are spotless. I was once a veteran with unresolved psychiatric and substance abuse issues and this hospital saved my life by getting me the help I needed and for that I will always be grateful.

Mr. Vacca Great service and staff. I was running a half hour late to my appointment and called in advance to let them know I was going to be late. They kindly let me know I was going to be too late for an appointment. Instead of charging me for a missed appointment as I should have been, they quickly rescheduled me for a couple hours later in the day. Phenomenal customer service!

Their organization and happy demeanor is a reflection of the leadership within the office. As a fellow medical provider Dr. Pan is at the top of the list in knowledge and courtesy. He is thorough and makes sure that no matter what he will make the best decision for you. Thanks Dr. Pan I will be referring patients to you!

Niel Quinn The Hippocratic Oath says do no harm but by taking appointments and then turning patients away after waiting 8 months for said appointment will have a drastic effect on the heath of Dr Pan’s supposed patients. Lisa Schulz I was scheduled an appointment with this office as a referral from my primary doctor. I waited over 3 months for this appointment . I arrived 5 minutes early, and the receptionist informed me that they would not see me because I didn’t arrive at 9 am to fill out paperwork. I don’t recall ever being asked to do this. I was sent a text reminder that my appointment was at 9:30 am, and to confirm the appointment, which I did. They said they’d reschedule me, and I informed them if this is how patients are treated, I’ll find another dermatologist. This has now further impeded me from returning to work. If I could rate this office 0 stars, I would.

Sakina Hussaini If I could give this place a zero star I would. They are delaying patients care because they are so unprofessional and rude. My grandma had an appointment although she had two insurances somehow their “system” was picking only the one that they don’t accept. They have rescheduled her insurance for almost twice because even with me telling them and the cards they were not able to find the primary insurance. My grandma’s appointment was urgent and then delaying it made me so mad that I had to talk to Manager. The manager was so rude and loud and all she said was that she couldn’t by pass the system and that my grandma has a cheap insurance that they thought they don’t take . Although my grandma is 73 yrs old and she herself doesn’t work to obtain an expensive insurance.

Zachary Peterson I have Crohns and see their IBD Clinic, and theyre amazing doctors and nursing staff. Dr. Park is wonderful and has great communication. They only take appointments on Tuesdays, though, which sucks and theyre a little slow if you need something like a medication since theyre only there on Tuesdays. One time I needed meds took over a week, but it depends on the doc, Dr. Park is definitely faster than the other residents at the clinic. Their pre-auth staff needs some work too, but thats almost every doctors office in the US. Dr. Park gets 5 stars and 4 stars for the rest of the clinic for their slowness, BUT theyre all great doctors.. PA Mereday(not the Clinic) is great as i saw her for several years before diagnosis of Crohns. The front office is pretty good too.

There was literally poo on the stairs in 2 spots. Cigarette butts and bottles spread throughout the sides of the stairwell. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!! The bathroom smells like urine too. Plug in air fresheners dont help.

Andrenia Figueroa My overall experience was great. I checked in on Saturday and immediately went to the bar area for food and was immediately welcomed by a smile from a server. The following morning I went down for breakfast and that welcoming smile was my server. His name is Eugene. While I sat by myself, Eugene made me feel comfortable. His professionalism, respect and conversation made me feel like I was talking to an old friend. I observed him with other patrons as well and he gave them the same respect and courtesy. Thank you Eugene. I also had the pleasure of meeting Kenya, she was also welcoming.

Mark Mattice Stayed on 14th floor. Beautiful view facing the river. Ceiling paint is peeling and falling off. Room was 81 when I entered, cannot use AC during winter months, shut off heat and fan system and open a window (no screen) is the only option to cool room. Whole place just feels and looks run down and in need of desperate renovations and updating. For the price per night, very disappointed and will not be staying here again.

Dominic Pengjad The hotel is quite dated, and the parking deck is very dirty and sketchy.
The front desk service is excellent. I asked for a room with a capital view, and it was given to me. The view is beautiful, and the location is amazing.
There is no in-room microwave, and breakfast is not included. Depending on the person working, the bars customer service can be hit or missed.

Jennifer Beitzel Rooms could use some work, yes. I’ve never had an issue with cleanliness though.
It’s centrally located and staff is SUPER nice. From front desk to the van drivers. A C By far the ABSOLUTE WORST lab experience I have ever had. It is the next day and I am still upset. The phlebotomist was a complete basket case and highly unprofessional to both myself, the patient, and her coworkers. I dont feel my tests were handled properly and have zero confidence that the right tests were even done. She obviously doesnt handle stress well and made a frustrating situation unbearable. I have never been so upset in all the years that I have faithfully been a patient at Albany Med.

Jessie Morgan My son had to have surgery and I was obviously a very concerned mother. I had never been to the South campus of Albany Med before. From start to finish, this facility was top notch. The care provided to my son, myself and my parents was excellent from the registration process to the waiting room to the nurses, the doctors, the Anesthetists, the surgeon and the aftercare. Every aspect of this place was excellent! So much kindness and care!

Lauren S Our 5 yr old son had a procedure here about a month ago and I have to say that nearly all the staff were wonderful. The anesthesiologists, residents, nurses and Dr. Carpenter we’re all so nice and made us feel a lot less stressed throughout the time we were there. It’s scary when your kid has a surgical procedure but I can’t say enough great things about the pediatric team here. Thank you!

D Taras The last place I want to be is in an emergency animal hospital . It’s scary when your fur baby requires immediate attention especially on a Sunday morning . However the staff makes you feel welcome & offers the fastest care they can . We were seen within 30 minutes & the veterinary doctor assured us he had a soft tissue injury & didn’t think he needed any X-rays . He prescribed pain medication & instructions for 10 days & could follow up with our own vet if anything came up, I feel they were compassionate , understanding, and took great care of our fur patient. The hospital waiting room is very clean & large with plenty of seats . It even had a coffee bar and vending machine . I highly recommend this animal hospital. This is my girl waiting patiently for her brother .

Becky Brady This is an amazing group. Everyone treats you with respect and makes sure you understand all possible treatment options. They have a rule about no perfumes or scented products as it can really bother patients going through chemotherapy. You are taken in almost as soon as you arrive. They also take their time with each patient making sure to answer all of your questions. My treatment has been a success and I owe so much of that to their expertise along with prayer and a positive attitude. A very safe place to go for cancer care.

Shantavia Rain Doctor McElcath is the worse!!! I sat in my room waiting for him to come in to discuss my opinion for surgery but he took his time coming to my room while skipping over me going into other patients rooms I waited over a hr for him to come in to speak with me for him to show NO COMPASSION AT ALL!! To how I was feeling he showed no emotion. And his demeanor speaks loudly for itself. I asked him what would be the out come his response was very unsettling. I don’t specialize in that I deal with cancer patients so I can’t answer that but yet he does surgery on many patients in my situation and he can’t tell me the outcome humm. he left me feeling uneasy and very on edge. Debbie Trawick My experience has been very positive. The compassion shown by the entire team is greatly appreciated. Every encounter has been positive from the moment i am greeted at the front desk to the time I schedule appointments to check out. The nurses are experienced providing education and a relaxing treatment area. Jennifer Wood Well I’m not sure about the Drs but the office staff is very unprofessional. My 82 yo mother had an appt she had to cancel 2x, once from Covid and another time because I couldn’t drive her. Both times she called way in advance to cancel. She can’t reschedule without me because I’m driving. When we called the receptionist Doreen told my mother she couldn’t be a patient because she was a no show. This is absolutely not true! She was so rude so I took the phone and asked for the supervisor, Nicky who was on phone. I said I would wait and was told it would be a while. Gave her my number and she never called us. Really nice way to treat people worried if they need surgery for cancer.

Beato Marisol If I can give a zero, thats what they deserve. This hospital is very heartless. At least the medical team was working for a week on the surgery floor. How you treat people karma is going give you and your loved ones the same you do to your patients. Is not nice that you are in pain and be ignored. You have to pee and have a fracture hip and have to pee on yourself because you cant go to the bedside to offer a bed pan. Treat family like trash.discharge a patient and cant make transportation arrangements to get an ambulance and deem necessary the transportation of someone who fell off a 4th floor been discharged with major fractures.if you need medical care dont go there.

Garret Bever I went for my first visit here today and my experience overall was top notch. I was seen by Nancy (NP) only so I can only speak to my own experience. I was concerned about the reviews before I went, but noticed almost all dermatologists in the area have 3 stars or so I went for it. First, the facility is very nice, clean and inviting compared to other offices Ive been to. Nancy is awesome, great personality, super knowledgeable and friendly. I had a great conversation with her and she taught me a lot. All of the nurses and reception staff were very nice, unlike what I read here in some of the other reviews. I was in and out in about an hour and 15 which is very reasonable in my opinion. Ive been to a few dermatologists and this was by far the best experience I have had. Glad to have locked in a go to doctor in the area.

David Bergman I’ve been coming here for about 6 years and I will continue to come while Nancy runs the practice. I just came to get the phone number to make an appointment and saw some reviews. I was surprised by the bad ones about the receptionists, I never had any issues with them. I can be salty myself and have had issues at other places, but never here. The staff are great. I had an issue once where I think Dr.Spiro mis-diagnosed me and Nancy seemed to disagree. The next time I went Nancy had replaced Dr.Spiro and gave me something that worked right away. I have great faith in her.

Erin D The doctors and nurses here are wonderful and helpful but I have never, ever in my life encountered such rude receptionists. Being a lead receptionist for a decade myself I understand that customers can be frustrating, but I have always been extremely polite when going into a place of business. I was five minutes late at my appointment today (I did call to let them know) and at checkout had two receptionists rolling their eyes at me and muttering /whispering while I spoke to the nurse. The particular treatment I am having requires certain policies to be followed and regular blood draws, and I was confused about it, they proceeded to make nasty remarks and behave very rudely towards me. I cannot even believe a place of business could have receptionists that behave in this manner outwardly right in front of a client. It makes the kindness and professionalism of the doctors and nurses almost not worth it.

Nathan Charon Ok, here is the real deal with this place...
Nancy is awesome, she knows her stuff in and out!! The nurses are also great, Im bummed that I dont remember the name of the very friendly and knowledgable nurse that I first saw before Nancy came in.
But like alot of the other reviews mentioned, the receptionist are hit or miss! I did see some eye rolling and had a few comments made toward me... had me contemplating jumping over counter and choke slamming them! But I was in a position where I NEEDED to see Nancy and get diagnosed. So I just bit my tongue and figured they were having a rough day due to the full waiting room of peoplesome an hour past their appointment time.
As for Spiro himself, never seen him in the office....but Ive worked in at some bistros and wine bars he frequents! He likes his Vino, and is the head of a high end wine society that likes to have fancy dinner and drink, drink, drink! Just food for thought about some of the comments made about his practice.

Erin Nudi I had a terrible experience here, and paid $60 for an incorrect diagnosis. Look elsewhere.
Edit 02/07/19: I realize I was vague because I didnt want to share my diagnosis, but Id rather people know the truth, so I will. I had severe ingrown hairs and was told they were flea bites. I knew they werent. I paid for this incorrect diagnosis, then paid to have my cats checked for fleas, I sent Joel Spiros office the paperwork from the vet indicating they did not have fleas (Im sure they didnt care or read my I told you so letter), and then I went to Upstate Dermatology in Clifton Park who was able to give me the correct diagnosis and medication.
On top of that. Joel Spiro checked me for skin cancer and had me take my pants off. In an extremely tiny, claustrophobic room. Admittedly, a nurse was in there as well, but it was still very uncomfortable. I later found out a male family member of mine also went there, and was also checked for skin cancer, but oh lo and behold, he was not told to remove his pants.
My experience here was years ago now but I still think about it once awhile and hate to think people are going here. Upstate Dermatology was great and I highly recommend them.

Selina Newkirk Review is in regards to one doctor and the front desk.
I called to make an appointment about a week and a half ago. My medications needed to be checked as I didnt feel they were working appropriately.
The receptionist I dealt with had me on and off hold for about 10 minutes total. She wouldnt give me her name so I have no idea who I was dealing with. She told me that the provider I had been seeing, who I was so happy with, left the practice about a month and a half ago so I needed to see someone else. That was fine until she told me the one doctor who I dont want to see. (Previous experiences with that doctor and being told that I was not allowed to come to their practice for ear infections any more and that I needed to go wait at Albany ENT urgent care going forward any time I had one). I asked nicely if there was anyone else I could possibly see because Dr. Elliot and myself- our personalities just dont mesh well. She then became rather irritated that I wanted to see someone else. She told me I would have to wait for the office manager to call me to make my appointment. I asked if I was in trouble or needed to find another GP, she said no but she couldnt make my appointment and Id have to wait. After a long silence, I asked if we were good after giving my phone number. She quickly ended the call. Fast forward to a week and a half later, I still havent received the call. So I called today and spoke with a woman named Emily, who took the time to help me and get me scheduled with a different provider. Idk if the office manager blew me off or the receptionist never forwarded my message. Either way, Im glad I wasnt dealing with something super serious where time was of the essence; I wouldve been 6ft under still waiting for that call.

Michael Hait Very pleased with the laser treatments so far. My skin feels much better, looks healthier, and believe my redness has been reduced. Recently had my third session and I definitely look forward to continuing my sessions. Dr. Forman has been wonderful. Very professional and supportive. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and feedback. Overall I am very happy with my experience. I highly recommend Delmar Family Medicine for these laser treatments and for Primary Care. Great facility and great staff.

Jessica Br If you ever have an issue you’ll run into attitude and zero answers from nurses. On call for after hours is rude and dismissive. I had an appointment and was advised to stay out of work for two months however it took a week to get the note, calling daily and leaving messages requesting the note that I needed for my job that they had already advised they’d provide. This week I called FOUR times on three different days advising the medication I was advised to start is causing severe side effects. Not one person has called me back, now five days after my initial call. I’ve been more than patient with this office but this is not the way to treat your patients. I’ll be switching offices and I hope anyone looking for a providers office looks elsewhere especially if you have ongoing health issues.

I really appreciate Delmar Family Medicine and I am grateful for their patience with me. Dr Foreman and Carly, the receptionists at the front desk and the nurses are so awesome! They make sure all our needs are taken care of and do everything they can to go above and beyond!!! I highly recommend this practice.

Nicole Curtis Really disappointed in their customer service today. I love Dr Lauren.. but nurse Jen and the female receptionist were nothing but rude and had lack of compassion for an unfamiliar situation their client was dealing with. Basically there’s issues with my insurance, and I had a few follow up questions as well as frustration for the mere fact that within 3 weeks the only way I received follow ups was if I called to inquire for them.. I understand pre authos take time but your health care provider should be having 100% communication regarding that within 2-3 days a part.. not two and a half weeks. It’s unfortunate that I experienced this with them because Dr Lauren is so lovely. I’m really beside myself on this interaction. After figuring everything out I called back to let them know everything was good for them to push my pre autho over, and Nurse Jen was short with me, rude.. and I asked if I could get a follow up tomorrow after Mr Dr pushes it through and her response was “no you’ll get a call from the pharmacy”… in such a nasty tone.. it’s just really unfortunate and will be speaking with management once everything clears up with my scripts. Make sure you ask for Dr Lauren.. she is kind, understanding and above all genuienly compassionate

John Valentine Castillo I am really impressed by this office. It’s a little hard to get in because they are booked up with patients, but everyone I interacted with was highly professional, caring, and pleasant. The office staff are organized and friendly, and the nurses and doctor I saw were excellent and took time to listen to my concerns and to explain the medical issues very thoroughly.

What kindnof care they are providing if they dont give ...about you!

sandra richardson Unfortunately, this is the only practice in the Albany area for this care. The wait for a first appointment was months, so I went to Roswell Park in Buffalo where I was seen within 2 weeks. After that initial evaluation, I transitioned here because it is four hours closer to home. But it is almost impossible to communicate with this office. They do not return calls or messages on the patient portal. You cannot get a human being on the phone. This treatment is dehumanizing and stressful, which does not promote health and well-being. If there was another option nearby, I would definitely change to a different practice.
Note that the problem is not the provider, but the office systems.

Catherine _run4rain_ I have been trying to get an appointment for my husband for three weeks. He went to the ER and they found a mass on his brain. The ER consulted with a doctor from this practice, we were directed to call this office, and the ER faxed over his records. The first time I called, I was told they didnt receive a fax and to fax his records over. So I requested the ER fax the records over. I called back within the hour and they said they had my husbands records and they would need 48 hours to get him aligned with the correct doctor. When I called back two days later, we were told they hadnt received any fax. We were routed to a different person who gave us a different fax number, but the story is the same-multiple calls, multiple times of requesting the ER to fax over the records, and no fax received on their end. Absolutely incredibly frustrating.

Courtney Hockey The worst service I have ever received at a Doctor’s office. You will wait on hold FOREVER to speak to someone (if you ever get to). I can’t imagine what it’s like for folks who aren’t good with technology because if you don’t message your provider directly it is nearly impossible to get meds refilled. Nobody at this office cares about you. My past primary care office that was privately owned was infinitely better.

Joseph Gottuso I had quadruple open-heart surgery done here in May 2023. I can’t say anything bad about it. The experience there was heartwarming. The nurses were great. The doctor was awesome. Everything went well and they pushed me through the process. The only bad thing I have to say is that one of the rooms when I was in recovery was pretty bad Then I have no functioning air conditioning or any of that stuff and we had to use fans to try to stay cool and it was very uncomfortable after having such an invasive surgery but other than that the place is a got gave me a new lease on life. I can’t say Anything bad about the actual doctors or nurses cause they were great. anytime I get to rave about my surgery and talk to people about it. I was telling him to go there and have it done there because you’re definitely not gonna be in a bad way there. They treat you good.

Nyamala Tone My husband and I were hurt in a car crash yesterday Saturday, 03/08/25 at 3:30 pm in the town of Colonie. We went to Saint Peters hospital to make sure medically we are okay. After they called my name we followed the person to a room thinking an ER Doctor or PA will see me and they took my husband gave him a badge they made us wait in the room for 4 hours and 15 minutes from 6:00pm to 10:15 pm. After maybe 4 hours of wait a female came to the room took my pulse and blood pressure while the blood pressure cuff was so so tight I was in so much pain but I was so so polite I said nothing. this place is a very horrible place it was nothing but a waste of time. These people have no respect for our time money energy health. The attitude respect caring is completely gone. Shame on them.
SHAME shame shame. They are disgusting. They are an embarrassment. We would like to give them zero stars. They think were stupid. Shame on them. WE could go elsewhere or come home after the car crash eat and drink at home. Enough of bullying.

Susan Podgorski Visitors are not checked for identity. Since most facilities are heightening security, I was shocked that I did not have to show any identity to visit a patient. I did not receive a visitors badge either.
Also, inside the main garage there are no markings of lanes. Because this was my first time in the new garage, I took a picture of where I parked because nothing is marked inside, except at a window by the stairs to let you know what floor you are on.
Finally, care of the patient I visited was excellent. The nurses are very attentive. I delivered two of my babies at Saint Peters and I would be wary to become a patient there again.

Debra Bailey Filthy dirty, ER SMELLS LIKE VOMIT, URINE and diarhea. The floors are filthy, bathrooms atrocious. I worked there for several years and it was always immaculate. Where are the cleaning people! Bathrooms should be mopped every few hours in emergency room. Both the bathroom by ER check-in and inside the ER were awful. My room smelled like urine, so maybe coming from an unwashed metal bed frame. The sheet was clean but room smelled of old urine.
Joint Commission would have a field day if they stopped in .
The medical staff were 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Unfortunately I was afraid of picking up a sickness or disease.
This is a Hospital, cleanliness should be top priority.
This saddened me as I was always proud to work there.

Aliza Levana The first time I ever came here was in 2010. They were great back then. They took my vitals, as they walked me to a room. They grabbed me a warm blanket. I got to my room and the lady from CAT scan was waiting for me. Everything went so smoothly and I was in and out with a result. Right now I’m sitting here, freezing, not even in a bed in a recliner. The nurse who took my information on the computer, kept reminding me she would not forget to get me a blanket. So I’m waiting and waiting. The PA comes in and I asked her about a blanket. I wait a while I ask again. I wait a while longer and I ask again. I’m sitting here freezing where is my blanket? I hear them just down the hall from me laughing and joking around. Where is my blanket?
I started coming here in 2010 because they were so awesome and very caring as well as efficient and listen to what the patient had to say. They don’t do any event anymore. They just don’t give a shit. I’m still sitting here freezing. I’m about to get up and do a video.
So the PA came up to me because I refused to sign the papers for Care until they bring me a blanket. She came charging down. The hallway came up to me screaming at me was so nasty rude she’s lucky I didn’t get up and punch her in the face. She acted like the gestapo. This hospital sucks anymore. The people they have here they don’t care.

Player Girl83 My fiancé got brought by the ambulance and we arrived there at 2:30pm and didn’t get seen until 6pm so 4 hours of being there, they are so rude, and the bathrooms are unsanitary, they have no beds on one side of the hospital so they have chairs in the room which were uncomfortable, my fiancé had to wait for hours until a nurse came and saw him and when they finally did come and see him they gave him attitude, we were there for 7 hours straight just for them to tell him he had the flu, I will never be going back there ever, they were also taking walk ins before us who were brought by the ambulance like that is just not right, the girl at the front desk is just so rude. Don’t ever go there, this was our first time going there and it was just horrible.

Amanda Wright Unfortunately, I had to take a trip here last night. I had been here before & honestly didnt have an insanely long wait period, but this was VERY different. I arrived at 6pm. Once 12:30am hit, I finally asked if Id be called back soon. I wound up getting called at 1am, but was never even placed in a room. I was put in a bed in the hall & saw other people that had arrived well after me being put into rooms. I was uncomfortable having all my personal health info discussed in a hallway in front of several occupied rooms. I was able to leave at 3:45am, almost 16 hours total.

Chris Lashwa Went to the Emergency Care walk-in after dealing with throat pain to the point of vomiting profusely for the past two days. I thought it was stuck good, but I wasnt sure. The nurses were very friendly and got me set up with a room in a reasonable time. X-rays came back in just over an hour and the doctors gave me medication to help relax my digestive tract in hopes of relieving my throat pain. After just a couple hours, I left feeling much better.
To conclude, Im grateful for the care they gave me while I was there.

(401) Reviews Saratoga Hospital:
bo anselmo The system at Saratoga Hospital ER is completely broken. I will never go there ever again and out of kindness and concern I will tell everyone I know to avoid it so that they don’t have to endure an experience such as ours.
We spent 28 hours total in the ER with a mental health emergency where the patient I brought was initially compliant with getting help. The first 12 hours were in the large waiting room with no wifi, 1 bar of cell service, and no water to drink unless you buy a bottle, then you can’t even refill it because the water fountains are off.
Next we spent 14 hours in a windowless ER room and she was not allowed to go outside just to get a breath of fresh air and was not brought or offered any food or water. I had to leave her alone in a fragile state to get food for her from town.
So, 26 hours after we arrived, she finally saw the clinician, and at that point she just wanted to be released home, who would blame her? Any hope I had for her of getting an evaluation and a transfer to an inpatient program where she would get some medication management was destroyed. The inefficient system of this hospital completely undermined our ability to get much needed care.
Lastly, the admin person in the ER spoke very disrespectfully to me when I was consulting with our nurse, implying that I needed to wait for the assigned nurse to return and not bother a different staff member. I was speaking with our nurse.
The patient I was with also heard the staff talking badly about other patients in the ER using language that was gossipy, judgmental, and truly unprofessional.
All I am asking is that the hospital assess its system, read these reviews, and make changes:
1. If a telehealth crisis evaluation was available for mental healthcare, wait time would be much improved instead of having one provider who can only see 3 patients per 7 hour shift.
2. Have a water bottle filling station in the waiting area.
3. Provide wifi in the waiting area.
4. Provide some training on patient care, advocacy, respect, kindness, and empathy.
It is a beautiful facility and the waiting room is impressive looking and there is lovely art on the walls, but for a town as well resourced as Saratoga, I feel like we can do a lot better as far as care goes.

Kevin W Admin support, care management, social workers are all underhanded, don’t follow-up as they say nor do they practice carrying out tasks within timelines and guidelines established in medical policy.
Furthermore, One would think when you’re dealing with after care and transferring a patient to nursing care you’d provide the family with a checklist and assist more in the process before sending a lifelong Saratoga county resident over an hour away against family concerns. Save your family and yourself aggrevation, find an alternative.

Susan White Very disappointing in Emergency Care. This rating is for Saratoga Hospitals Urgent Care and ER. My husband who is a high risk senior was very sick, coughing terribly for a week. Urgent Care did not do chest x-ray but sent him home with antibiotics for a sinus infection. 4 days later he was back, sicker than ever - finally a chest x-ray - Pneumonia and low oxygen and they sent him to ER in an ambulance. Neither time did they test him for Covid although he had all the symptoms. He was finally tested and diagnosed with covid pneumonia in the ER. He was stuck in ER for almost 2 days. For over 10 hours he received no food, and no water no matter how much he begged he was dehydrated and thirsty. No one bothered to find a doctor and get approval to give him a drink of water. During those 2 days they moved him to a different ER room 4 times - not once did they put a mask on him for transport. At 10pm they finally gave him a drink of water and a stale turkey sandwich. Most workers going into his room wore no mask. How many people were infected due to lack of precautions? While he was in the ER, probably while he was sleeping, someone stole $80 out of his wallet (leaving a couple of $1 bills so he wouldnt notice) He was finally transported to a hospital room, without mask, - and THEN he was put in strict isolation. While in the ER the person who started an IV did not get it in right and it fell out onto the floor. She picked it up off the floor and tried again with the one that was on the floor. She herself sat on the floor while she was inserting it.
His care once he was in a hospital room was very good, no complaints there. On floor nursing care is not an issue at all.
There appears to be a lot of training of staff needed especially in Wilton Urgent Care and ER. This should have been caught and treated appropriately on the first day he sought help. He could have died.
I dont blame the nurses in ER for the poor communications and neglect, they work hard. I blame nurses understaffing and failure to train aids and ancillary workers to at least exhibit some caring and compassion. Those people should be the go-between to check on patients, carry messages and get information when nurses and doctors are too busy to interact with patients. The whole experience in ER is no one cares. Nurses station always seemed busy, but no one actually interacting with patients only each other. He reported the theft of the money. No one got back to him. He sent a letter to the patient care board about his experience but no one has acknowledged it.

fran capelouto Id go to a alternate hospital if I could. In Aug.2024 my mother went to emergency and told it was a heart attack in no uncertain terms.
Later that day cardiologist said heart failure and she was put in room with another woman patient that had a wild and raucous party for this other woman thrown by the nurses. A birthday party? for a town VIP maybe? It kept my mother up who had a heart problem of SOME kind, I found out. Next morning they sent her home. Heart patient. 1 day in hospital. Day she came home that night had cardiac arrest and died. She told she was kept up by this party and could not sleep any the day she died. But fun is fun right? Year before 2023 she had pacemaker installed then came down with sepsis few days later. Still want to go to Saratoga Hospital?

Krista Bowens I really have to say that this hospital is very busy and yes the wait for the time is long. But I suffer from a heart issue and I have gone to 3 other hospitals in new york and never had my issue resolved until I went to Saratoga. I may have had long waits but they did ask the testing needed and found the issue and fixed it for me. I am blessed to all be alive today. Yes hospitals are no fun going to or being admitted to but I am happy with the care I received. The nurses I had while I had a short stay were great especially Bobby. Im glad Saratoga took care of me and Im in the road to recovery again. Only reason for 4 stars is yes the wait time but I was understating with the amount of people that needed care and treatment. They sure are busy and do try there hardest.

Harley Alderson I been going there for almost 7 years never had a problem until this past July when I was given a new Dr. From the minute she met me she never looked at my records and assumed I was a drug addict and possess guns which isnt true at all. She messed with my meds and the last time I seen her was August. From that point on my appointments were canceled and yesterday November 30 I had a phone appointment scheduled she never called and claimed I was a no show. Shes not a nice person I asked for a change of dr and they refused. Im sad because therapist is great I give her 5 stars. Everyone was great until this new Dr came along Id give her 0 stars if possible for her being bigoted. The only reason they get 2 stars is because my therapist deserves 5 stars. With that all said Im going to a different psychiatrist starting December 19 because this dr crushed my faith in this place.

Anna Myers I strongly suggest you find care elsewhere. Refused an appointment due to my ins coverage even though referred after an inpatient stay and being told by Ashari (AMC employee) on 4/29/24 that if they did not accept ins I would be responsible to self-pay at the rate of 50% and that the billing office would provide amount prior to appointment. Rec’d call on 5/7/24 informing me my 5/9/24 appointment was canceled because they don’t accept my ins. Went round and round with Noreen regarding what I was told by Ashari and what Noreen was telling me. Noreen would absolutely NOT address my questions. Just kept repeating I needed to call my ins company. How is calling my ins company going to get me an answer on what Ashari told me? Ashari is an AMC employee. Has nothing to do with my ins. I pressed why I was told something different previously by another staffer and Noreen insinuated I was a liar saying “Ashari would never say that.” Like I would make up that information? Noreen also called me a “racist” when I asked her to spell her name and refused to transfer me to a supervisor after repeated requests throughout the 20 minute phone call. Going as far as telling me after multiple requests to speak with her supervisor that she was the supervisor. I questioned her because she previously told me she would have to talk to her supervisor and call me back. How do you have a supervisor one minute and tell me you are the supervisor the next? But I refrained from calling her a liar as she did me. Noreen ultimately hung up on me when I pointed out that she was being purposely evasive in not answering my question about what Ashari told me - I insisted she address the issue by either telling me Ashari was wrong or she was wrong or that was not an AMC policy - and it was at this time she terminated the call with no warning. Not the first issue I’ve had with an AMC office. It seems AMC is less than transparent when it comes to their staff, policies, etc. and allows their employees to treat the patients however they like and AMC has the nerve to hang signs in their facilities describing the behavior they won’t tolerate. Seriously? Leaves me with the impression they only care about the money, not the patients and probably are not at all concerned with their employees behavior. Shame on you!

addy hoffman STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! I was seeing a provider here and she abruptly left the practice and was extremely negligent in the fact that she did not do anything to try to help me establish proper care with a new and different provider for after she was gone. This was back in April of this year and I am STILL struggling to find a new provider and I have now run completely out of medication and it is bad. This is incompetence and negligence at it’s WORST. I wish I had NEVER gone here to begin with for treatment. These people are so incredibly rude and useless and lazy, they have treated me so poorly and have made every symptom that I have much much worse. This situation has been so incredibly awful and scary, I wish that they would step up to help me as I am in need and have asked for their help any many times now with nothing to help me in the end. They make me feel like I am being such a burden when I was simply asking for a different provider’s number since they will jot treat me here. I need help and they basically made me feel safe and covered for my medications, and then they suddenly stripped away all of my securities and resources which created a situation in which I have now abruptly ran out of intense psychiatric medications which has worsened so many things. They do not want to help. They do not care. Please listen and AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS!!!! AMC Psychiatry, you people are CRUEL AND AWFUL AND DO NOT CARE WHATSOEVER ABOUT YOUR PATIENTS.

Katherine DeMaria Now that I am recovering from the shock and trauma of my experience at Albany med children’s hospital, I will say that anyone with a very ill child who doesn’t know what is wrong with them should not go to Albany. Go to Poughkeepsie, Boston, Westchester. Albany med allowed residents to take charge of a very complex and rare condition which was clearly not within their skill set. They overloaded my child with fluids (11lbs in 7 days) , didn’t take daily weight or measure fluid intake or output, drew blood 2x daily, did not treat the actual inflammation causing the illness until 10 days after admission and almost drowning my child in IV fluids which they claimed was edema from the inflammation…that they delayed treatment for.
I had to call rapid response while there to get an attending doctor to look at my child on the 7th day we were there because the resident in charge would not listen to my concerns that the swelling wasn’t just edema. It wasn’t. The attending right away said it was third space fluid overload. My child was taken Off all fluids and put on diuretics….he also had to have a blood transfusion because his blood count was so low from all of the bloodwork. I had to demand he be treated for the actual condition he was suffering from which was inflammation. All he needed was steroids. As soon as he got them (10 days after admission and being mistreated with fluids) his recovery started.
No doctor will admit the fluid overload or delayed treatment. It was terrifying and I am very sad for my son who kept telling me “we are never leaving here.” I would like the hospital to recognize their terrible oversight of my child’s care and to admit fault.
As a teaching hospital they should have better control over their training of resident doctors. ESP when it comes to children.

Lyle Winokur If you actually need care. Try somewhere else. The Dr, NPs and the staff were great, but they are severely understaffed. It should not take 3 hours before waiting to be seen by a NP and then another 1.5 hrs to be discharged. Thankfully my son did not need to be admitted, but when your Pediatrician suggests going to ER, and this is the care you receive. Think twice. Albany med Admin this review and rate is on you. Do Better, this is borderline malpractice, when you cant even be seen by NP or Dr for 3 hrs. The total time seen by Dr was 10 minutes, all the staff was able to tell me last night from 545 PM to 1015 PM was we are short staffed and apoligize for the wait. They couldnt even give me a time frame and we were in a triage room because no beds were available. Albany med admin needs to hire more Drs and NPs to assist the needs of this community.

Lia G Avoid this hospital - never again . I will say the nurses and every thing else about the pediatrics hospital are great but when it comes to doctor caring enough to help your child forget it . Was there last week mon - fri as I knew my daughter was getting sicker. They didn’t care when her face started swelling or she had a hive on her. Asked them if it could be reaction to meds they said not likely . Got her home and figured out on my own she was having a sudden allergic reaction to ibuprofen which is what put her in the hospital in the first place . So they would’ve just kept giving it to her . Even though rheumatology said her allergens were elevated . Now she is better after just eliminating the ibuprofen. For your child’s sake go somewhere else

Yaya If I could give a zero I would. This is not even on the Nurses or Doctors. This is on the administrators. Those who run the hospital. They should have a capacity of children they allow to be in there. There are not enough beds. They play this psychological game with people and move them into different waiting room just to make them feel like they are moving somewhere. We had to put our pride down and say we do not care if our daughter get her panel done in front of everyone and when her results came back we didn’t care to receive it in front of everyone because we didn’t want to wait for a room that wasn’t available. We were already there for almost 8 hours. Not good!!! We know there is a shortage and since they know that then they should work on how many people they allow in the area. There needs to be order and for order to happen it has to comes from the head. There was a little boy who needed stitches and clearly could see the gash and blood in his head and they made him wait. This is crazy. I bet the administrators will not bring their own kids to that place. Please get it together!!!!!!!!!!! Your staff are exhausted!!! They do not need appreciation key chains or w.e you give, they need help!!!!

Sandra Austin Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my recent experience with your reception service, as it was quite frustrating.
I was on hold for 45 minutes before the receptionist picked up, only to be placed back on hold for another 20 minutes. During this time, I feel there could have been better communication. When placing a caller on hold, it’s helpful to check in periodically if the hold time extends beyond a few minutes.
This experience lasted over 30 minutes total after the initial wait, and I believe some retraining might benefit your team to improve customer interactions.
I appreciate your attention to this matter, and I hope my feedback helps enhance the service for future callers. The receptionist was great when the call was finally answered. Thanks,

Cyn Champion The staff here are very warm, compassionate, thorough and professional. They were able to get me in for an appointment due to a cancellation when NO OTHER DENTISTS were accepting new patients. I appreciated that they worked with me and made space. I received a thorough cleaning and x-rays. The hygienist and assistant were kind and patient. Dr. Unger was very detailed in his explanation of what I needed according to my x-rays. I left there feeling amazing! Beautiful building and office, quiet, calm atmosphere, very clean.

Angela Nesel The emergency room is disgustingly dirty your feet stick to the floors and papers are all over the floors I don’t understand why they have people emptying the trash but no one to swing a mop. Then they tell you your loved one has to be admitted for observation but the part of the emergency room is closing at 11pm and your loved one has to go back to the overflowing waiting room until a bed opens hooked up to IV and not being able to lye down and rest which I refused to do only to find out that they just put him in a hallway on a bed with a curtain around just the bed . To me they have all these rooms and then they close it off at 11pm with a waiting room full of patients it doesn’t make sense plus it’s absolutely disgusting Albany medical used to be one of the best hospitals around and now it right up there with the worst they need to clean it.

Tammy Brown I am a current patient here and I can honestly say I’ve had the best care. Started in ED. When I got here, it was quite busy so a small wait but after I found staff to be very friendly! Very friendly woman who took my first set of X-rays. I’m sorry I don’t remember her name. She made me feel comfortable. We exchanged cat stories. The nursing staff is tremendous. Surgeons, everyone so far. Food is awesome! What surprised me was TV was not free. You had to pay for On Demand and I had a bit of a confusing time. I have no wallet or credit card. When I called the On Demand company, they did work with me and turned it on long enough to obtain payment from home. Thank you AMC!

Shane Griffin Waited 24 hours for a bed but totally understand that. I have mixed reviews on care. The first shift I experienced with my particular nurse was not great. He was very hyper on somewhat careless. I had to have NG tube administered and he was extremely rough, to the point I could let it happen. After some discussion of its importance with Drs I let him do it again with much smaller to. Again very frantic approach of placing it in. Eventually was done but much more uncomfortable than it should of been. I say this because when I finally got a room some how the tube came out and the nurse I had put in the required size and did so very well. Night and day from ER experience. As with many reviews the ER could be cleaner but its a very busy place

Kimberly Garnsey I spent 1.5 weeks on the 3rd floor trauma floor. I can not say enough about the care I recieved. The nurses were very professional with the exception of one whom I had for only one night. The nurses made me as comfortable as possible. They work so hard yet took the time to listen to my stories, look at pics of my fur babies and such. I would lighten the mood often by making them laugh. The PT staff was extraordinary and made sure to let me know I was doing great. The Doctors and their team were also extraordinary in that they would check on me daily and explain matters in a way I fully understood. Thank you

Owen Pihlaja-Zubal It took me over a month to schedule an MRI at this facility because the staff are so unhelpful. Every call I would be told to do another pointless task that I had already completed (or that they should already have the information to do on their own). The radiology department is completely incompetent and incredibly frustrating to talk with. After finally getting my MRI done and getting a copy of the disk for my other doctor, it turns out they gave me an empty disk! Nothing for my doctor to look at! The only reason I keep coming back is that I have no choice.

Amanda Coleman I had to switch primary care to a different provider since mine moved out if state and Mrs. Morgan the NP is just phenomenal. I feel so at-home and understood for my healthcare goals. I was worried that my new primary wouldnt be as open to my needs and she took the time to listen and evaluate me. I feel like she is a new breed of practitioners that is so needed in todays age of rushing patients and not fully listening. I couldnt be happier with who my care has been assigned to and I am comforted knowing how much she cares.

Jaimie Covert Honestly disgusted with this practice. If you wont return phone calls left for rescheduling purposes, dont send nasty letters threatening to kick us out of the practice as patients if we dont make the appointments were attempting to reschedule. The effort was made on my part to do my due diligence - how about you all do yours. The absolute audacity of this letter and its condescending, lecturing tone had my jaw dropped. I might leave the practice anyway. 0/10. Do *way* better.

Cynthia Tippins I have been a patient of this practice for 35+ years. With Dr. Barbarotto, Dr Jolie and then Dr Kasbekar. I was then assigned to Virginia Boudreau NP who is less than accomplished. During my September Medicare Well physical, she did not, other than the usual intake, do anything other than listened to heart and lungs, nothing else. We reviewed meds and allergies (extensive history) and discussed the script for Zofran which I take approximately 4-5 times per year, usually for medication reaction. When I asked for a renewal of the script….after weeks I am told it is “not for long term use”. Needless to say this is not consistent with other medical advice I have been given but it is consistent with the sloppy and uncaring way she practices. I have referrals for another PCP which I am pursuing. I am very disappointed to have to change primary at this point in my life. For what it is worth.

Heather Dickson This place used to be good, but every primary doctor I get established with suddenly up and leaves. A few years ago I came in with some serious concerns and needed a referral to cardiology, and the provider ms Wolf yelled at me and demanded to know what drugs I was on while I just cried, after my EKG was alarming…for a few minutes this went on. (Not on drugs, my whole family has heart problems. She only gave me he referral once I mentioned that) The experience was deeply traumatizing and effects my expectation of every new doctor im forced to see. I think I’ve had 4 primary doctors in 3 years. The new doctor they set me up with is great but something is very wrong with the way they run things, and I’m sure the doctors all probably leave for a good reason.

Elena Tarnowski I went here as it was highly recommended by several friends. It was terrible. The office was dirty & run down. The doctor I saw walked in and told me she was resigning from the practice and if I wanted to continue the appt we could otherwise I could just reschedule for another time. Not sure why I was scheduled as a new patient with a provider that was leaving. Weeks later they also called in 2 scripts to my pharmacy for no reason. Antibiotics for the WRONG patient. I won’t be returning.

The lady at the desk said to call the number. The same number I’ve been calling for hours without getting an answer. Whoever is in charge of running this place is clearly not competent enough. They have replaced their office management and staff with incompetents, the nursing staff is no better. The office manager decided to treat me like a criminal and make accusations instead of verifying my insurance. I was asked to leave and she told the providers that I threw a pen at the receptionist, who I wasnt even talking to. She got me discharged from the practice, which she was quite proud to tell me. They also lost all my immunization records which I very much needed.... atrocious way to run a medical practice. Disgusting

John Quigley My familys had it here. Ive been coming to Dr. S SINCE 1999. Since 2007, my whole familys been coming here.
To be clear, the practicioners are amazing. The front office staff is overall the worst in the history of medical care. Anyone whos visited the office knows exactly the ones Im talking about.
These staff people have kept us from seeing our doctors and asked triage questions that a receptionist should not ask.
The offending staff seem to think its their personal fifedom, and they can control peoples medical care. History of inappropriate, unprofessional rude signage, conversations, and comments.
Today, my 11 year old is sick, the whole family is sick, but our boy has swollen nodes and had to see the Doc.
We were given an app. By one of the professional staff for 145pm
My wife (who is sick too) drove my son, was on time, and becuse she waited so long in line to check in, had the appt. Canceled and moved up.
My son did see the doctor, and again the care he received was excellent.
Its just thay every single time we go or call the doctor, there seems to be some unnecessary and unacceptable barrier to care.
The people who visit this office are either sick or have medical concerns. They shouldnt have to be subject to this kind of treatment.
If the offending staff doesnt like their job or feel they cant handle it, they should leave instead of having a negative impact on peoples medical care.
Furthermore, the office should step in and make the change as there are multiple complaints regarding the same people and the same subject. You look at reviews, and you take them with a grain of salt. People are sick, theyre in a bad mood etc.
But common sense tells you theres obviously a problem.

Teri Jones Called trying to make an with a new patient appt. The rep said they are booking into late April, early May which was fine, but I had to push her to even look at an appointment for me. Then she proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions about when I was last seen and sounded extremely judgmental because I wasn’t sure but I knew it had been several years. The rep was rude and extremely short needless to say I will be trying another provider. As I believe good quality care starts at the door and based on other reviews this isn’t a first with this practice. I need to feel comfortable going to or calling my doctor’s office.

Chuck Burns I have been seeing my MD at this practice for more than 20 years. Sadly, some of the staff are horrible and my recent experience left me with no other option to go elsewhere. Had a scheduled fasting blood draw - received several reminders - showed up on time, checked in and paid my copay. Spent 2 hours in the waiting room listening to the food network while starving (I complained about this before) and they forgot about me. Wasted hours of precious sick time while starving with the food network blasting at me. Appointment never happened. Never again.

kerra burns I really like my doctor here. That’s why I keep coming back. That said the office needs work. As soon as you walk up to the door there are signs that you need to wear a mask and if you don’t have one they will not provide you one, you have to reschedule. This is such a poor message to send to your patients. I understand that we have to wear a mask. I understand that people should be responsible enough to remember one, but denying someone a medical appointment because they forgot a 10 cent mask is an awful way to care for your patients. How hard is it to put a box of masks out if someone forgets instead of turning them away? I go into the waiting room and an older couple come in and the husband is in a wheelchair and obviously needs assistance. They wouldn’t let his wife stay with him to assist because she didn’t have an appointment. I understand they don’t want extra people in the office, but you really can’t make an exception for this situation? I have no complaints about the medical staff, my care has been good and the doctors are responsive. The front office could use a little more customer care.

Benny Cross I’ve never felt compelled to leave a review anywhere before, but the absolute disregard for patients by both Dr. Brigid Mack and the staff is appalling. Staff is often rude on the phone, if they even answer your call. If they do, it will probably be after 20 minutes or so. Dr. Mack will not read your messages on the Community Care app. She lies when she says she will keep in touch. After a concerning diagnosis, she wouldn’t answer my messages and I had to wait weeks for an appointment, just for her to refer me to someone else, which is what I asked her to do in the first place. She prescribed me testosterone, which was great, but she never showed me how to safely do an intramuscular injection. Also, I have to remind her to refill my medication and I had to ask her to test my testosterone levels, which is something she should be doing for me every three months.

He had moved to this office when the office he was working with closed down.. so my family followed him. However since the switch I have only been able to see Dr dworski once! I also do not like the fact that I wait for someone to answer the phone for 15 or more minutes just for someone to click on amd hangup very disappointed in the phone systems here and not being able to see my regular Dr. Due to this inconvenience I have faced I am looking for new providers for my family. Its a shame that during times of need I have had to live at urgent care this past week and a half to get my kids the health care they need, as well as myself. I have heard many complain about not being able to schedule. This place was the worst, from the reception desk, to the Doctor and then the follow up. I will skip the reception issue and jump right to Doctor. As soon as he came in, he asked me to sit up and then handed me a tissue. I asked what the tissue was for, he said so if this nasty stuff gets on your face you can wipe it off. Never even told me hed be spraying anything or what it was for. He spray my nostrils and says hell be back. Comes back and says sit up..take a long skinny 2 foot tube and sticks in in my nose down my throat. Never let me know what he was going to do! It hurt. I asked if the spray was to numb it.. he says to open your sinuses. Very loud spoken and almost rude. Tells me I definitely have a mass in my neck and need a scan. Doesnt really know what it is. I go to reception desk to set up appointment for scan. They say we have to call you once we submit to your insurance. 5 days later, I hear nothing. I call to find out the person who handles is on vacation for another week. So here I am, a mass in my neck that could serious..and I am just waiting to hear back from someone. I ask to file a complaint, they say the manager will call me back. I ask who is head of this practice, she says she doesnt know. Several hours pass and I still have not heard back. Anonymous The ongoing racism and bias towards my child and I have been awful. It’s unfortunate. Their receptionist and phone lines could also use some improvement, nobody ever picks up or calls back. I’ve talked to Jenna (receptionist) a few times and she always has a nasty attitude. I wish I could give this place a zero. Their service has been awful. My child has been seeing a different provider and we always have to ask for someone else so they do not schedule us with Sarah Aluck, one of the NP’s. No child or parent should have to experience or endure racism and bias. Sarah did not care about my child and or her health. She would always brush me off whenever I had questions. I also heard her and the MA’s talking about me and my child. I wish I could say good things about this place. No parent should have to worry about whether their child is going to get the right care that they need because of their race. It’s been an uncomfortable experience for my child and I and it has not gotten better.

You cant EVER get ahold of anyone the phone and when you do you get transferred and the put on hold forever. Tried to transfer Doctors to Dr. Fitz as he was previously my bfs pcp from another practice for 18 years and was told No, didnt offer to send a message to the Doctor to ask...VERY poorly run front office and phone staff in my opinion which is disappointing because Dr. Fitz is great. If you want a good Doctor go there, if you want efficient and friendly front office staff, dont.
